Honestly it’s pretty good. Not sure why everyone hates it. Low rate for a rather decent workout area. Can’t complain. Also I’m not sure why people say half the treadmills don’t work when literally only one treadmill is out of order. Imma Happy Customer!

7pm Saturday, wish the gym was OPEN. Wish the mens restroom didnt ALWAYS smell like urine. Probably the urinals that dont flush, or the second toilet that is always clogged and out of order. Wishful thinking that this review will change anything in the future. Pretty much a rundown barely useful facility, closed too early on the weekend. Dump Republic.

Worse gym !! When it used to be a different owners it was different. The gym is super dirty and employees are soo rude. And stereotype people. I recently canceled my membership for that reason.

The people at the front desk are incredibly rude, the short woman is the rudest one but at least she doesn’t try to pretend she’s nice like the manager does. They’re some of the most unhelpful and judgmental people there and every time me or my friend walk in and sees the short woman, she always has to glare. She could just do nothing and go about her business, that would be much more nicer than the alternative that she has chosen

They are unbelievably unprofessional

The gym closed the pool for the season, no notice. This is triathlon swim training season. I hear this gym is losing money on the pool. I can imagine the cost of chemicals must be huge. When they allow fully clothed people to use the pool, and showers and proper swim attire are not enforced, the water gets disgusting, the filters clog. This is a cesspool of their own making.

I travel a lot for business and come here whenever Im local.The equipment is clean and they provide a solid selection of machines and free-weights.The staff is altogether fantastic and have always been available to me when Ive needed something or just generally looking out for your wellbeing.For me personally its everything I want in a gym.

I think this gym is great! It has everything that you need and everything is new! I appreciate the employees who walk around cleaning all of the time. I would give it five stars but theres no sauna and members cannot figure out how to use the circuit room correctly but otherwise it is near perfect!

I like this gym, especially for the price. The gym is clean, the equipment is new and in good condition, the locker rooms are nice and typically clean as well. It has plenty of amenities for its members.One thing Id like to see change are the weekend hours. In my opinion, they close fairly early and itd be nice to see them open until at least 10:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Betty is the rudest employee. She bosses everyone around and gives customers the rudest glare. Geo and Julio are the ones that greet me at the door and make sure everything I am experiencing is in order.

For $10 a month you getOut of the 9 treadmills they have on the second floor, only 3 work. (Employees are aware)The same band aid has been in a workout room for the last week.Bathrooms are always dirty with trash cans overflowing and usually no seat covers available.

This place is poorly managed. The locker room constantly smells like urine. Steam room still broken. Used band aids around the hot tub. Weak hot tub. Sauna is border up. No parking. I just joined. Nice equipment, nice facility. Its just dirty. I spoke to the one person who cleans. He said its too much and recommended a different gym., No kidding. Im calling the health dept. next.

Betty, the short middle aged woman - with the constant scowl on her face - at the front desk is so unbelievably rude. She has no regard for quality of customer service and will walk away from you in the middle of a conversation.

It does it’s purpose. It’s a gym. But I don’t like the fact that there are only one set of a lot of work out equipment that has to be clipped on to the equipment. The front desk people need better costumer service. Multiple occasions where they acted unprofessionally.

I had a tour but I wasnt impressed. The class times are fixed and dont fit with my childs daycare schedule. There is no kids club here anymore. The pool looks nice but its outdoor and they close it for the winter. Thats the main reason I wanted to join was the pool and the classes neither of which work right now so I guess Ill go to the YMCA where they have childcare. They do have state of the art looking equipment if working out on machines solo is your jam this might be the place for you. I prefer CrossFit.

Employees here are very respectful and understanding. Ive noticed lately employees are genuinely friendly and customers love that vibe!!! I go here 2-3 times a week and I love it!

Always go here since its close to home but they need improvement in staff. Place is not clean. No tanning booth!!!! And half machines are broken. Its always packed which may indicate why machines are broken. Would recommend to keep up with maintenance.

I used to go to this gym when it was Fitness Evolution and it was awesome, pool, hot tub, sauna, massage chairs. Since they changed to Fit Republic, the pool has been closed, massage chairs arent always functioning, no more hot tub where there were always people to talk to after swimming and was relaxing all year round. No sauna or tanning booth for years either. I pay the same price for much less now. Today one of the employees snapped at me that the massage chair was in use when I asked to use it and walked away from me without offering for me to use it when the person ahead of me was finished. I am THROUGH with this BS. I am going through a stressful time and dont need to be treated that way, plus I need some tactile therapy due to being depressed, chronic neck pain, and soreness. I hate to drive to another gym because it is so convenient for me, but no more. When I go in to cancel my membership (I hear you cant do it over the phone), I am so afraid of hostility from the staff that I am going to bring a friend or colleague along for emotional support. Two big thumbs down and never going back.

Staff isnt very friendly and the gym is ALWAYS dirty. It takes days for them to pick up used paper towels oon the ground. They also are always out of paper towels, they never get replenished.

2 story gym with a large weight lifting room. Its clean and has a pool/sauna. + they offer HIIT classes. Its worth it for the price of membership, they have everything you need.

Its a cool place with new equipment but the people who run the gym could care less about cleanliness and there is always some machine broken. They take a really long time to repair it.

Never go to this place and the staff - they are bunch of LIARS - bunch of illiterates who make all false promises to make us join the GYM.This place sucks, no cleanliness, so suffocating, and no hand lotion or a lotion to clean after use of the equipment, this place is worst ever, yaaak !, and the staff just sit around playing on their phone, while only one staff member serves 10 people, forming a big line, DONT GO if you expect better quality of response from staff and cleanliness, DIRTY PLACE ever as well the STAFF....

This gym was the one involved in a controversy two years ago where it suddenly closed and stole members money. I came back after spending a year abroad eager to sign up, but wasnt allowed to due to an outstanding fee which was already covered years ago. When I refuted it, one of the staff mocked me for being upset.This gym is cursed, and its owners have no integrity. You wont be missing out on much, though, and you will get more professional staff at almost any other gym in Watsonville.I will say, they get one star for having every machine you need, but what made this gym unique was the swim school, the racket ball courts and the sauna / hot tub. Without any of those anemities this gym no longer stands out, and youll be better off taking your money someplace else.Yes, its cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Original membership about year ago. Did first training session, nice trainer wanted to weigh my options..in other words think about value of trainer main guy steps in and does bully technique. Nice try but no. Liked the facility, some issues with locker room and showers but with amount of usage hard, maintainence schedule may be behind. Ended my membership but had a hard time figuring out when they would stop charging. Rates seem intermittent meaning watch your account. Re upped membership because really great price and convenient and staff does really care, but just couldnt anymore with the parking...honestly the Bain of my daily routine. So once again in search of a gym, but this one does meet needs and makes you feel like working out, if you get a parking space

This gym membership might be cheap but the machines they have are always broken. They have about 10 tread mills and 5 of them always have out of service signs. They dont have any good machines and the ones they have are not that great. The showers are horrible they never have soap and they smell. When something breaks they take FOR EVER to fix it. who ever Manages this place is bad! You get what you pay for.

Been going to this facility for over 15 years I think it’s had about five different names now. Currently called fit Republic I paid full year in advance as I normally do for a premium membership which includes pool access tanning booth and aqua beds. Unfortunately the pool has been closed for over eight months the tanning booth has been broke for over four months and the aqua beds are always full. I’m not even sure if they work. The machines are Delapa Tate it and broke and downright dangerous some of them.I don’t feel I shouldnt have to pay for a premium membership when I’m only provided with standard membership amenities. Place is always dirty has terrible customer service, I’ve emailed him multiple times and never had any response if anybody would like to join in my lawsuit against them please contact me. This place is strictly found it online in people’s pockets and has little to no integrity when it comes to customer care

GREAT facility and GREAT Staff!Not all bunched up in one big room, where everyone watching everyone else, but rather lots of places and spaces where you are alone and can privately do your workout, so grunting and making other embarrassing noises is no big deal.

Big facility with many Matrix Ultra machines in excellent condition. Also free weights and universal type machines. An outdoor pool with lap swimming available, also racquetball ball courts, many cardio machines, Zumba classes, Pilates mat, etc. This is a great place to workout with a lot of varied fitness experiences available. Staff is matter of fact, direct, honest and efficient. If you need help, ask. The facility inside and out is always picked up, tidy and clean. At certain times of the day ANY good gym is going to be crowded. Pick your times accordingly. FE is a great value and provides everything a person needs to stay fit and healthy in a positive environment.

Got to admit golds is better but switched for the deal. You really cannot beat the steal of a deal compared to other gyms. Golds is a 5 star the only thing is they are way to expensive I was paying 37 a month! It would also get packed, not sure how it is now since this new gym opened. Now paying 20 a month for premium membership! They also gave me a free month free! Overall Im satisfied with this gym, everything is brand new, open pool/Jacozy, steam room, big room, bigger weight room than before, 2 rooms for handball/racketball, a personal training room, big class room, and upstairs cardio. Not to mention membership applies to any fitness evolution!

This place is absolutely terrible. Bathrooms are filthy . The staff is terrible. I hv tryed to cancel my membership 3 times but still getting charged . Not only that but they somehow hv my father under my card and hv been charging me for him as well even though he has never stepped foot in this place. Biggest joke of a gym ever . I will never recommend a single person to this place nor will I ever return.

Dirty, when I signed up you could use the two back rooms now they are off limits unless you pay an additional fee on top of my premium membership and annual fee.. The fitness director a big meat head talks to customers as if this is the high school gym. Hes a complete bully.. Most the guys there are goons that sit around playing grabass trying on mask while the girls work.. I think the price is high for what you actually get.. Definitely the worst evo fitness Ive ever been to... Definitely time to fire some staff replace them with people that I actually enjoy their job and dont treat customers like garbage.. Fire the fitness director, he really doesnt deserve to be there.. Its bad enough this place has a lack of equipment and is always crowded you can never actually get in a complete work out in but to be treated poorly is just unacceptable

This gym was not changed much.I will give it credit for cleaning it up.I signed up in march 2015 and received an email for every month since March saying it would open only to later find out by another email it would not be opening with an excuse attached.This happened all the way up to the day of opening.Luckly I save every email.Finally February 2016 comes and the email states it will be opening early Feb and it does open but not till late Feb with an email stating we get the rest of Feb only a few days free.I visited the facility prior to open where they hyped up the entire Gym and how we would have access to the entire facility.Finally they open and although packed it met expectations other than they still had not opened the section with the jump boxes.3rd day came and the section for arobics that many use is locked.There was 5 different version as to why they closed it one of the staff members I talked to said the manager left with the keys and thats why it was locked, I talked to 5 other people that were frustrated it was locked and they each had other versions that staff told them why it was closed.Aka Lies.So I say ok one day something went wrong no biggie. Second day and again its locked this time the story is we dont want the floors to get scratched and in my head Im thinking get rid of it then.What is the point of having it for non use.This gym is busy and getting packed your on a hype train.Dont forget when the hype train is over its going to be service that keeps you in business.I am very connected with the city of watsonville from inspectors, to many attorneys, to the community in general. I know a lot of people who have committed to this business since first announced it would be coming and have stuck to it even after getting email after email that it would open.Last thing we need is more reasons why you cant do the right thing and open the Arobics section.I will be reaching out to Martin Stein by all means necessary even if it requires a class action lawsuit to get someone to do the right thing and open the Arobics section.Real leaders dont hesitate to do the right thing I hope they exist at fitness evolution.

BEWARE!!!!!!! I signed up for a membership in October and they have taken 2 months worth of due out of my account. They are not even open yet. There is no working contact number and the corporate office does not take calls. I have left 2 messages with no response. I was burned by the lifestyle fitness for 8 months worth of dues and am not having a good feeling about Fitness Evolution. Youre off to a bad start!!Kathy Dotson

Poor customer service. I order to cancel my sons account(hes 14 yrs old), he needs to come in to cancel himself. Besides that, the pool is closed and no notice was given or when it will open, the sauna is closed, some machines dont work, workers are rude. Oh and I had to drive once back to my house to use the restroom because they were cleaning it for an hour and they would not let me use it.

It is Tuesday March 15th 5:53am and there is more than two dozen people standing outside 45 degrees. No one showed to open!!! Unacceptable, unacceptable, unacceptable!!!!!!

Inconsistent maintenance: swimming pool and jacuzzi pool are dirty, soap containers in the showers are broken, windows and screens like never been cleaned. Staff said the sauna is no longer in service as the parts are not available.

Just spoke with Marco at Watsonville site, I havent been charged and wont until gym opens middle of Feb....I signed up Jan. 2015. I havent been charged for membership.

This place is rough. There was throw up in the urinal for at least two days. I was told that they only have one person that cleans for all of 831. The people behind the counter should get off their butts and do something. All around it has a lot of work to do.

If you are a sports lover and you know how to work your body with the equipment you can improve your performance and physical, only a small detail requires more 45-pound discs and extra weights.
