They explain everything about a dental procedure ahead of time, during the procedure and then Dr Thomas calls that same day right at the time you may have questions just to check up. What can I say. I could not be happier since we transferred our dental care to Area Dental and Dr. Hammond! Not only do they fit patients into the schedule for an emergency but they actually call to check up on you or your child after fillings or any procedure. Dr. Hammond is amazing with kids. She is able to recognize when my son is having sensory issues/overload. Dr. Hammond adjusts to my childs needs. She explains things to him every step of the way. Dentist was through and took time to get details on 50 years of dental work.The hygienist actual polished my teeth on top of cleaning & charting. No pain or bleeding.Upon checking out (cash pay) the receptionist alerted me to an internal special plan covering cleanings and X-rays. 😁 I will be back in 6 months .

The clinic is very nice. All the staff are very nice and professional. Since it was my first time there, they even took me for a walk around tour of the facility. My Dr, was very reassuring and talked to me very calmly, and was thoughtful in explaining my opinions for the procedure. I am glad I chose them for my dental care. I absolutely loved my experience here. While the team is always welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere still remains clean and professional. The clinic is organized and things run rather smoothly, which is why I end up only waiting a couple minutes before I’m brought back for my appointment. I genuinely feel cared for when I’m here, and everyone at the front desk, the hygienists, and the dentists are always helpful and knowledgeable. I couldn’t imagine wanting to go anywhere else!

The dentist isnt my favorite place;but really feel at ease during my visits. Most of the people are familiar with me and my family so they are very cheerful and helpful with managing best options for my family. My absolute favorite thing is that after a visit they follow with a call very personable and reassuring they care. A simple hey how are you feeling after your filling goes a long way!

False advertisement. Called to see about wisdom teeth removal as it clear says $149 oral surgery/extractions and they told me that wisdom teeth is not a part of that special. That is an oral surgery procedure.

Dr Cassidy was great. I am horribly nervous at the dentist and she made me feel better and took her time with me. I got myself so worked up I couldnt stop shaking, both the nurse ( I am SO sorry I forgot your name). Were very good at calming me down. The whole extraction was less than 20 mins and I was able to go back to work. Instructions were thorough and understandable. Other dentists have left me bruised and only able to go back to bed because of the pain. But I am so grateful to find Area Dental. They get me in asap and even the cashiers are thoughtful and considerate.

I had the best experience ever at this clinic. I had trauma to my teeth as a child which makes me a very nervous and anxious patient. Today I had my front tooth removed and prepared for an implant. Dr. Thomas did an amazing job and he explained everything he did along the way and made sure beforehand to tell me what was going to happen. His assistant was Arely and she has been the kindest and most informative assistant you could ask for. Jailine even held my hand through the whole thing which really did help a lot. I had the most distal lower left tooth extracted which made it difficult for the dentist to easily reach it. My lower left lip was pinched by the tools used and the water spray felt like I was being waterboarded at times. I dont fault the staff; as I said, this was a difficult procedure to perform. The end result was worth ridding me of a fractured pain-inducing tooth.

In the two years my family has been going to Area Dental we have had several genuinely concerning things happen. The most unethical was our last visit with my 7 year old when the hygienist and dentist recommended we go through with a procedure to cut both of my son’s lips and tongue. They said he had lip and tongue ties that would cause his teeth to “splay out”. The hygienist told me this was a service they could do at the dental office. I had a follow up with an ENT doctor at Children’s Hospital who was very taken aback by this recommendation. She had me look into my son’s mouth and pointed out in great detail how his lip ties and tongue tie would have no impact on his teeth positioning. She said it wasn’t even on the border of being a concern, it looked completely normal. She warned me about dental malpractice for monetary gain and how it is becoming an increasing concern in the area. I also had a third opinion at an orthodontist in Oconomowoc who agreed with the ENT. It is sickening they would have cut my son three times and charged me some exorbitant fee for absolutely no reason.At each check up over the two years I was heavily pushed into getting panoramic X-rays for my son which were not covered by insurance, standard X-rays were. I continued to refuse and asked what would they do differently based off of information from a panoramic verse standard X-ray. The answer was unclear what was clear was they made me feel like a bad mom for not going forward with this service for my son. They said my son needed work done by an orthodontist and they would use this panoramic. I broke down and had them done. The next day I called Bubon Ortho who they recommended we go to (which is in the same building as Area Dental and the dentist’s father has some kind of affiliation to so they know how it operates). I told them for his consultation to be sure to get the panoramic from Area Dental. They informed me they liked to do their own panoramic and it was free of charge with the consultation (this is actually how all the orthodontists responded when I called). I was furious I was talked into spending hundreds of dollars on something that served no purpose and Area Dental was very much aware insurance did not cover since this had been a continuous conversation/argument over multiple visits where I didn’t see the purpose and they continued to push and push.Lastly, I just received a bill in the mail for our last visit for $146. Our insurance completely covers checkup visits. They said this charge was for a fluoride treatment that insurance did not cover because he had already gotten one that was covered. I asked why we were not notified of this charge before the service was provided. I work in healthcare providing rehab therapy and we never provide uncovered services without informing patient and gaining consent. Fluoride treatments at a dentist office cost $20-50, I was charged $146 after insurance was applied to the visit which covers cost of visit. I called several days ago to discuss my concerns. The receptionist said she would pass along and I would get a call back later in the day. Days later there was no call. It wasn’t until this review was posted that I received any call after I tried to reach out and discuss my concerns. Since I posted this they have tried flagging and removing.If you choose to send your family to Area Dental I would recommend being well informed of services provided and the reasoning, any serious work being done get a second opinion, and closely review your billing.

Understood my recent frustration with getting my plan of care completed now that some dentists are opening amid Covid. I had completed all my care with another dentist except for a partial. That dentist is not yet completely open. Area Dental Clinic was willing to see me and make the partial I needed. The price was right as well. I’m very pleased to be working with them. Their clinic is very safely set up with every possible precaution to keep everyone safe. Impressive.

Recently, the staff went out of their way to intervene in a bad situation, listen to my concerns, allay my fears, explain details, and make the best of a procedure I dreaded. I appreciate their diligent care.

The staff at Area Dental Clinic are very courteous and helpful. They are taking all precautions to help stop the spread of COVID-19. My dentist and assistant were able to fix my immediate need (chipped teeth) and are working up a full estimate of what it may cost to have other dental work done. I have to say I went here for a second opinion from Aspen dental. The people, atmosphere, and professionally was no comparison to my first opinion. I dont like the dentist, but really who does, but this was a very good decision on my part. Ive never had such a positive experience at the dentist. The prices were half of the first cost and they are looking at different ways to solve the problem. My whole family will be going here from now on. If you dont want to be taken advantage of, please give this office a chance. You wont be disappointed!

I was referred to Area by my previous dentist when I moved from his area to Watertown. To my amazement, when I called to inquire if they were accepting patients, not only were they, but I was lucky to get in within the same week. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly, and exchanged pleasant conversation with the front staff. Before I was taken to a room, I was given a tour - something Ive never experienced before at a dental office: clearly they are proud of their facility. And rightly so. The clinic is beautiful, and, as a healthcare provider myself, I was impressed by their cleaning and sterilization room. My hygienist, Joan, was very personable, and I enjoyed engaging in banter with her - shes very funny! And, she knows her stuff! She gave me some tips on making flossing (something I admit I hate) that no one else has ever mentioned before. I only met Dr. Hammen (one of several dentists there) briefly, since, thankfully, I had no problems with my teeth, but she also seemed very nice and was very thorough. I am very happy to have found a new dental office, and its literally 5 minutes from home. I would be pleased to recommend Area Dental to anyone in the (no pun intended) area!
