I went for emissions test and it went quickly. There is a comfortable waiting room where I enjoyed talking with other customers. Its an old fashioned atmosphere which I liked.

I cant explain why the part store is like a museum but the waiting room chairs are unreservedly comfortable. You wont want to leave. Its an age old staple local business where you can get your emissions test right by the DMV or without going into the fray of Waterbury if youre coming from the north.

Needed an emergency repair, got me towed before 30 min (was .5 mi. away) got me in right away, notified me of other potential hazardous items, they also gave me a couple options for the part that was to be repaired, which they offered an American quality part, and a cost effective import option. I was there maybe 2 hours. If Im not mistaken they do just about everything there also, emissions, custom trailer hitches, etc. etc. Super knowledgeable, great work, truck rides like a dream now. Karas towing. Chevy 2500hd. Wheel bearing. Thanks Montambaults.

Came here multiple times for various things, and every time I come here it just seems very unwelcoming, everything is covered in dust, as in hasn’t been touched or been refreshed in years, the lady behind the counter seems miserable and just doesn’t want to deal with customers. Last time I was here was for my emissions and probably will never return again

This place reminds me of the auto parts stores I used to go to 30 years ago. Its just got that kind of feel a little bit old but got some character. They are one of the few in the area that can do emissions and the only one I know that can do trailer hitches. It is the type of place you would hope improves and grows.

Also a pleasant experience, they have been doing my emission test for a long time...15 years maybe!

First time I went there, I mentioned at the front desk not to mess with the drivers door handle and also the turning signal cuz they were both loose. When the guy was about to check my car, first two things he did, pulled the door handle and used the turning signal... I complained with the lady at the front desk, and she couldnt care less about it... she didnt even apologized.

Ed and the crew have done right by me many times, from emissions testing to major repairs that I was not equipped to do myself and they have never given me a problem about it. This is one of those rare shops that understand there are people who like to work on their own cars because they enjoy it, not because they save money. This is also one of the rare shops that understand that people value their time and will try to work with you to get your car in and out at a time that is best for you and the shop, not just at a time that is best for the shop.

The police told me do my emissions....I brought it here ...My emissions are legit....They are super helpful though..The waiting area is well kept ..Over all great so far..

I was in and out really quick for my cars emissions test. My only complaint is the shop is extremely dirty and the products on the shelves are covered in dirt and dust. It almost looks post-apocalyptic inside. But the service was fine so I would return for small mechanic jobs.

Waste of money. Twice I have taken my car there for repair. He could not fix it yet changed 100+ bucks each time for telling me he can’t fix it. Imagine if you took your car to 20 mechanics and they all charge you that much to tell you they can’t fix it. Unbelievable. Will never take my car there ever again.

This place is horrible I brought it down for testing for the dmv and when getting my car back it smelled like weed and I had a few items stolen from my car do not bring your car to this place they will rob your car for items I am reporting this to the bbb !!HORRIBLE WATERBURY WEED HEADS NO GOOD DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE

I had my car towed here and they told me i needed a New engine. I wanted a 2nd opinion so i took it to Durable up the street & they corrected the issue and i was back on the road less than 24hrs. Montambaults mechanics are either LIARS or LAZY and didnt check. Shame on them!! PLEASE Dont go here!!!!!!!!

Never again! How do u add on to someones work order with out telling them theres an added cost then speak very condescending to the customer as if you where doing them a favor. Thanks but it would have been nice to know my bill jumped before I showed up with the price u quoted me. Very old school people but I think they actually know what there doing. Reasonably priced and they always call after diagnosing, before doing additional work.

Great place! Great people! A garage with a long history. What other garage has been around this long? There is a reason. You can trust this place. Its a family place with a lot of experience. I would have to doubt anyone who said they had a bad experience. Heck your cars on camera the entire time with a TV in the waiting room to watch it. They work directly with DMV for emissions testing and repairs. This location is also a uhaul dealer. I could go on and on. I have nothing but good things to say. I used to work there. I still go there. I send everyone I know there. Get repairs you can feel confident about

Would not recommend this Service Center. Brought my car there to get emissions done. When I came out, my front bumper was cracked and had a tire rub mark on it. I had had this car stored in a warehouse which is less the 2/10ths of a mile down the road and only drove it right to his place, so there is no doubt in my mind the damage was there. Mr. Montambault refused to even look into the issue, and instead just blamed me for the damages. I spoke with other people after the issue, and have been informed that this is not the first time an incident like this has occurred, and heard Mr. Montambault referred to as a greedy person who often charges much higher prices for his products and is not willing to accept responsibility.

Seems like an honest fellow to me.

AVOID THEM!!! THE WORST SERVICE EVER..THE MECHANIC COULDNT FIND THE PROBLEM TO MY TRUCK OVER HEATING AND STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE TIME JUST TO TELL HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS...IT WAS JUST A BAD RADIATOR.
