Dan and Sonia were very professional, accommodating, patient, and effective. Even with unexpected, early winter weather, we were able to schedule the perfect trip on Big Lake, and catch all 4 available species of gamefish in one morning! Dan put me right on top of very active fish immediately, and he kept that going, in multiple locations, all day.The scenery and fishing were amazing. Such an awesome experience! I caught at least 5 fish, 2 of which Dan cleaned up for me so I could cook them up for dinner. Riding the snowmobiles on the lake was also very fun, and Dan was a fun person to talk to. Craziest part of my experience was my encounter with an eagle! I caught my first fish and put it on the ice about 4 ft away from me and an eagle swooped down and stole it!

Drill Team Six is the best of the best. We went out with Dan for the remote snowmobile ice fishing adventure and couldn’t have had a better time. It was the most incredible experience. We caught 10 pike using tip-ups (first time for us!). Dan was so knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend! We will be back!

Great, enthusiastic and real down to earth people. They were more excited about bites and the fish caught and more bummed about the fish lost and only fish caught than we were. We had a great time, not only fishing but trading life stories, cruising the lake on the sled, we felt more like we were lifelong friends than customers. Sonia treated our son as if he was her own flesh and blood, it was an amazing experience and cant wait for the next one. It just wasnt fishing though, they gave us a list of things to do and see, activities for our child since we are knew to Alaska and are going beyond the fishing guide to connecting us with people with our same interests. This duo is amazing and you will definitely leave with a smile on your face, memories to look back on and 2 new friends!!

Cant say enough great things about Sonia and Dan! Not only was our ice fishing trip memorable, but they recommended other things to do in Alaska and they did not disappoint! Its not just a fishing trip for them. It was the best surprise for my husband that is in the Army and had just gotten back from deployment. I know he enjoyed swapping stories and they took great care of us. Were hoping to go back in the summer and will definitely fish again with these friends of ours!

The experience was amazing. Caught a big Arctic Char on the ice! Sonia and Dan took great care of our group. Everything was set up when we arrived and our group had a blast. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience something new.

My husband and I had the best morning fishing with Dan. I cannot say enough wonderful things about both Dan and Sonia. Booking was very easy and Sonia provided plenty of options for fishing as well as great suggestions about what to do while we were in town. Our day on the lake was extremely relaxed as well as fun. Dan was extremely knowledgeable about Big Lake as well as all the fish in the lake. He was very patient with me as this was the first time I had been fishing in quite some time. He was also super excited when we caught our fish and even cleaned a fish for us to take home for dinner. We had an amazing time in Alaska and fishing with DT6 on our last day was truly the icing on the cake. We will absolutely be booking with Dan and Sonia again when we come back to Alaska!

Ran into Dan far out point Mack area. Anyways we were not even clients of his. Or drill team. Well my auger suffer severe blade damage. Was very brutal slow. Dan saw this came over with his auger and popped us a hole. Totally did not have to do that. That’s a true sports man if you ask me. And also share a ton i mean a ton of fishing knowledge. Once again Dan it was real nice meeting you. Thank you so much for your help and info. So even tho I’m a mat su local. I would recommend drill team 6 to anyone looking for a great day on the ice. Oh and they killed it that day! Chasing flags up all day I mean like no rest. It was a total blast watching. Total class act in my opinion!!!

Would recommend anyone and everyone that is thinking of doing a trip do it! Dan is one of the hardest working, kindest, knowledgeable, and more importantly willing to share and teach that knowledge. His gear is top notch and kept in clean great working conditions his boat is brand new but the time and care he puts into keeping it clean and comfortable for his guest is unmatched. In case you couldn’t tell Dan took my family out for a 6 hr salmon trip and not only was it just an enjoyable family outing it was an amazing fishing trip. Please though remember the fishing shows you see on television are severely edited to take out all the time and effort that is put into catching the fish if you’d like to see what it looks like in real life live action book a trip with them ASAP with pricing and service like this they will book quickly especially as the word spreads even more. You won’t regret it!

My husband and I had a GREAT day with Dan and Sonia. I booked the experience as an early birthday present for the hubby and was prepared to stick it out so he could enjoy himself—I’m not hugely into fishing and tend to take walks or read while he does his thing. But I really enjoyed the experience! Dan and Sonia really take their guests’ comfort into account. We had a heated tent on the ice, chairs, music...they provided hand and toe warmers and let us borrow gloves. We were also set up with sonar equipment, and Dan and Sonia made sure that we were comfortable using it. They gave us advice on technique, swapped out bait to keep the fish interested, and cleaned the fish that we caught. Sonia took some great pictures for us, and they gave us lots of suggestions on what to do in the towns nearby. They also stayed out with us well past the time slot that we booked. We definitely never felt rushed, and they even let us ride around the lake on their snowmobile! Definitely recommend, and will definitely re-book if we make it back this way. Excellent value for money, and excellent people to spend an afternoon with.
