My biggest fear before working with HUM was that I was not going to be able to obtain housing in Washington DC. Not only was I able to obtain housing, but I was able to get the unit that I wanted and receive excellent customer service in the process. My favorite part with my experience with HUM was that everything was convenient and it was right on time. If I were to recommend HUM to a friend, I would point out the professionalism, courtesy, and timely manner that my housing case was handled.

Apartment layouts are not what they used to be and I was afraid that I would not be able to find a unit big enough to suit me and my childrens needs. Housing and Urban Management really took their time to understand my need and they found the perfect unit for me; it was so fast! They communicated with me daily and the process was smooth. My children love our new home.

Would recommend that the pre-inspection is completed within the first 30 days to allow landlord to make any repairs/upgrades before the DCHA inspection. Also, recommend that the various Housing Assistance programs are discussed early so that Landlord can determine which programs they are willing to work with.The support received with lease-up and getting documents signed was outstanding. Staff was available, responsive and extremely helpful throughout the entire process.Kudos to Corey for all his support throughout this process.Please note that this service DOES work. It does however take time and patience due to some challenges and preferences with prospective tenants. Staff was extremely supportive and responsiveness with the Lease-up process. They were also timely in getting documents signed and submitted. Lastly, having the lockbox allowed Housing & Urban Management to show the property without me being present.Great service, I would definitely use service again in the future and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in renting a property in Washington, DC Metro area.

My confidence was won from my initial call to Housing & Urban Management when they told me they could help with my immediate housing needs. The company keeps you informed and makes you feel comfortable working with them. HUM is FAST and will get you the housing you need more quickly than other rental companies out here. After waiting only two weeks, I was able to go from a shelter with my children to moving into our own unit!

As a housing case manager, working with HUM has been an excellent experience. Staff is friendly and they are consistently responsive and helpful. HUM is experienced with the application process and provides a quick turn-around. They have been the best agency Ive worked with to date, hands down.

We tried Gohum services and were extremely disappointed in their services. They were not only terrible at communicating but also failed at their promised service! They claim to be experts at finding good tenants, however we only received 2 potential tenant applications; both terrible!One tenant they referred us to had a landlord & tenant court record only 2 years ago. They attempted to persuade me that wasn’t a risk and the tenant is highly rated. No thanks.After politely giving them feedback we hadn’t heard from them in 2 weeks until we contacted them for a progress report. At that point the owner Michael Kornegay informed me our listing had been removed from their system and they would no longer be interested in finding us a tenant. Apparently our expectations of having tenants with clean records would be too much of a challenge for this business.I would not recommend this tenant searching business.

Housing & Urban Management is very upfront and has an honest approach. They reviewed my unit, building and neighborhood in order to vet a potential renter. I was given a renter that was a great fit! It is definitely worth it to use the services HUM provides to improve the selection pipeline and provide intangible dividends to the community.

I would recommend Housing and Urban Management for its full-service aspect. HUM provides document preparation, process facilitation, and communication liaison between DC Housing, the tenant, and landlord. At first, I was apprehensive about the type of tenant I might get. Although I was -- and remain -- committed to being a blessing to those in need of housing, I didnt want tenants that would damage the properties So far, after working with HUM -- which secured high-quality tenants - that apprehension has been assuaged.

I thought I would have to wait for a few months, before I would get my dream rental, but their process was fast and efficient. I moved into a brand new development with washer/dryer, dishwasher, granite counters, hardwood floors, glass top stove and everything was BRAND NEW!!! They are the best!

Housing and Urban Management has truly helped my clients! They make sure that the tenants are getting everything that they need in order to move into the properties that they leasing out.The rentals are clean and nicely put together prior to move-in and this may be because they perform a Pre-HQS-Housing Quality Standards inspection and inform their Housing Providers on how to prepare.

HUM gets the job done! There were many obstacles that came up associated with working with the different government entities and their team just kept side-stepping them all so that the move-in was done on schedule.I would highly recommend them!

I hired HUM to manage my rental property located at 15 Danbury Street SW, Washington DC in Nov. 2016. Since then my tenants have not paid their rent on a consistent basis. HUM provided me with a ledger, which details their accounting of payments through 3/2017; however they have neglected to pay me all of these fees. HUM also claimed to take the tenants to court and the tenants (Gloria Stewart and Mark Stewart) were given a settlement. HUM neglected to submit any of these payments to me; as well as provide me with details on the case. I cant even take the Stewarts to eviction court because I dont know the latest status on what has been done to date!Michael Kornegay of HUM is a fraud! Despite numerous attempts to get in touch with him, he has failed!I am now trying to sue HUM c/o Michael Kornegay for a total of $9200.00; however when my process server went to the provided address (1629 K Street NW), he was told that HUM has not occupied this address since February 2017.
