I had a great experience with Sparks Group. I never leave reviews for things, but I felt I should because I was treated very well. I will be honest, I was very skeptical about using a staffing agency due to some things I read online, but when I got laid off and went a month with no income I felt like I had no choice. I decided to apply to some jobs on their website, and they have it set up so you have to call the recruiter assigned to that job right after you apply. I thought this system worked really well because you can speak to someone directly about this position and get things going quickly rather than waiting for someone to contact you. When I called, Natalie answered the phone and actually had time to talk right then about the position. She was super helpful and went over everything in detail about the position and asked me about myself, my experience, and what Im looking for. She even said she would float my resume around in case other recruiters found a position I might be good for. I was actually contacted by another recruiter about a position that I was not interested in, but I thought it was really impressive they made an effort to bring what options they could to me as a team. I decided to pursue the temporary position with Natalie and got hired. This whole process lasted about a week and a half to two weeks, it was much quicker than I thought it would be. This was good timing for me because I needed income ASAP. I will say it was probably so quick and easy for me because the positions they had available happened to match my skill set well, so keep that in mind. Natalie was extremely helpful the whole time I worked the temp job, always very responsive with phone calls and emails for literally any questions/concerns I had. She even delivered a cute Sparks Group tote and notebook to me because she had a meeting at the office I was in. Super thoughtful. Everyone I interacted with at the office was really nice as well. I have recommended them to all my friends in need of a staffing agency, and hopefully I wont be needing one in the future but if I did, I would definitely use them again.
Had a horrible experience! I was contacted via the agency, which is always good! They wanted to setup a time to speak more about the role. I replied with my availability, then it went down hill from there. The potential call to setup was just a simple phone screening (10- 15 Min MAX). After I responded with the time to speak, the recruiter was simply asking a single question at a time. This exchange lasted 2-3 emails long. It frustrates me to know since at the time of the email I did not live in the DC area, I was rejected right then and there!! I wish I was able to speak with them to gain more insights about the area since they deal a lot with recruiting, I would assume, in the DC Metro area. Please consider this if you are planning to relocate to DC...
Hope when I was hopeless!I cant say enough of great things about Sparks staff. I mean everyone I have had contact with has been so AMAZING! Shayna, was my first contact but was unable to land me a position but I knew for a fact without doubt she was trying she never gave up on me. NEVER Shayna has passion for helping people unselfishly find job. In my despair at finding a job her unselfish personality allowed her to pass my resume on to a colleague by the name of Amanda and to God be the Glory I was finally placed with a company that actually wanted me for a change. Talking about GREAT TEAMWORK! Amanda, has went over and above for me in the past 7 weeks and has not cease to tell me how proud she is of me doing a great job at keeping her client happy. I feel as though Shayna and Amanda are two of my closest friends. They helped in my time of need with a smile. You see I was not just a resume. I was a person/opportunity they showed they cared about. They wanted what was best for me just as much as I did. I would also like to thank Donna as well, she has also been very encouraging during my transition. Love you all, and I mean it!
A waste of time. Ive been with them for a few months already and the only thing theyve offered me so far are very low-paying, one-day jobs (some of which are only three hours long). Ive applied to two decent assignments through them, did everything correctly, tailored my resume and had awesome interviews--and both clients ended up keeping preexisting temp employees already in the role, for convenience. If not hiring a new employee is most convenient, why do they keep wasting my time? One time, they even offered me a decent pay rate for an opportunity--when I accepted and submitted my resume, they asked if I could accept $2 less on the hourly rate because other candidates had 10+ years of experience and I should want to stand out. If they have over 10 years of experience in the administrative field and I have 5 years of experience--why would I even be considered in the first place? Sparks Agency was either trying to get more money from me or there are some poor souls out there with TEN years of experience answering phones/scheduling and are reduced to accepting such a pitiful rate for all of their hard work. Also, they sent me a position which, in their own description, required at least a bachelors degree. When I looked at the original job listing on the companys website, it only required an associates degree! Something fishy is definitely going on here. Please dont bother with this agency unless you have 30 years of experience as someones admin and are looking to make $13-20 an hour, just to be told multiple times that youre not convenient enough.Ive had MUCH better experiences at other staffing agencies in town.
This is probably best for people who have years of experience but if you are looking for an entry level job this agency will not help you.It has been 2 years and I call them every week and they dont got anything for me. They keep saying theyre clients want high level execs. Personally, I dont see why people would come to this place if that is what they are seeking. This agency was not helpful at all waste of my time.
Never contacted me after wasting time visiting the place in person.
