I took in a 25 year old Gibson SG that had stayed neglected at my parents home for a couple decades. Anno did an incredible job on it. The guitar now plays perfectly, with low action and great intonation. The frets feel like they never have before. The binding in the nut that was causing tuning stability problems is gone. But it’s the little things that set this job apart. They cleaned crud on the locking tuners that I thought might be rust because there is no way I could clean it. There is no way this guitar could go back to new but now it feels like an aged gem.
I inherited a beautiful classic radio/piece of art that didnt work. Patrick took loving care of it. He not only got it working, but he cleaned it up so it looks (and sounds) wonderful!
Amazing experience and exactly what I needed. Had a vintage Japanese receiver that noone would touch and they got it working amazing again. Cost seemed totally reasonable and turnaround was fast.
Great experience with Rockn Repair. As an electrical current and gear novice, seeking out help with an amp issue felt a bit intimidating, but Patrick and the team at the shop took time to explain everything and made me feel very welcome. Great service and would recommend to anyone.
Patrick came out to my place to fix a record player and radio in a 1970s console that stopped working properly after being moved from another state. Patrick was really efficient, friendly, easy to work with, helpful, and did not oversell. I would recommend Rock N Repair for any audio equipment repair needs and I’m really looking forward to building up a decent record collection now that my player is in great working order.
Patrick did a great job fixing up my peavey triple X guitar head. Very quick turnaround as well. Best repair shop in town!
Brought my twin reverb and gibson SG in for repair and a set up and couldnt be more stoked with the result.Patrick took care of my amp, investigated what was causing the multiple issues I was having with it, fixed them properly and efficiently, and articulated those issues and their solutions via the shops online customer interface which I greatly appreciated.Anno set up my guitar perfectly to play in the tuning I asked for and answered the questions I had quickly and completely. The amp and guitar sound amazing since Ive gotten them back. Overall great service at a reasonable price--would absolutely recommend to anyone and will definitely be back for any other equipment repair needs I have.
Dropped my amp off a few weeks ago and the guys there seemed cool but they havent been responding and giving any updates. When the amp tech does respond he says he is looking into it today with his colleague. Days pass and I hear nothing. Ive been asking for an update for a few days now and theyve went from lying to just not answering at all. Based off my experience so far the amp guy doesnt seem very professional and Im not sure how they have such good reviews. I want my money back so I can take the amps elsewhere.
Responsive customer service, quality work, and quick turnaround time! Patrick was able to get my non-resposive 15 watt Monoprice tube amp working well, and gave some good recommendations for its care. I dropped it off on a Sunday, and was able to pick it up a few days later. Ill definitely be using their services again in the future should I need to. Highly recommended! Thanks again Patrick!
Had a turntable (Technics SL-3300) that was having sound issues. Patrick was very responsive and was able to find the issue and repair the record player. Whole process took ~2 weeks, which was mostly waiting on replacement parts. Very satisfied with the service and expediency with which the work was done. Would definitely recommend for electronic repairs. Location is very convenient and if I have any issues in the future this will be my first stop.
Amazing service! Player’s working good as new.
Patrick and crew took great care of my amp head. Was a bit of an unusual issue creating the problem and not immediately apparent what was causing it. But they stuck it out and got it working again. Good trustworthy folks!
This place is great. Patrick was able to help me out with some power supply issues on my eurorack modular. The work was top notch and was completed very quickly. Prices are more than fair. I am almost certainly going to be sending more equipment their way that is in need of repair.
Up front, the only criticism I have is that it took them a long time to respond to my work request. But with the holidays, the election, and everything else going on in the world, it wasnt an issue to me.I brought in my Vox tube amp after it stopped making any sound. I troubleshooted it at home, but realized that the issue was beyond my expertise. Patrick contacted me for an appointment and I was able to see him the next day. And he was able to diagnose, repair and return my amp the same day! The issue was a blown rectifier and resistors, which was well beyond my skills. But Patrick got my amp singing again, and its as good as new! Overall a great experience
I have a casio privia px130 that had a key stuck in the up/high position. I contacted Rock n Repair and spoke to Patrick. He said definitely he could fix it. I brought it by the shop and 2 days later he had me come by to pick it up. He fixed it and it works fine. I am very happy. All I can say is that if you have an instrument that needs repairing then call these guys....they are Great! Thank you Patrick!
If you have any musical equipment needs I HIGHLY recommend taking it here. Other places will charge you insane amounts for the simplest repair. The base price for some places to even look at your equipment will be over 70 dollars. I brought in my turntable which wasnt working (your basic Audio technica TLP-120) and they took one close look at it and it was fixed. They thought it was so simple they didnt even charge me for it. That wont happen anywhere else in the DMV. Friendly, professional, reliable service.
Patrick quickly repaired my Orange Crush mini amp and gave me the appropriate mono cord when another place had provided me the incorrect stereo cord. So not only did he get the amp working but also improved the sound. Great work!
Super happy with the service at Rock and Repair. Most shops charge $50-75 just for a diagnostic but Pete was willing to share his knowledge for free and I was able to fix my amp by myself with his advice, iv never experienced a repair shop with this level of service!Would recommend for any musician who needs a repair!
I have an old Fender Twin Reverb amp that was in need of some TLC and was referred to Rock’n Repair by Adam Levin at Chuck Levin’s Music Center. I contacted Rock’n Repair and talked with Patrick about getting it looked at. He gave me all the options for getting the amp into good working order and now the amp is working like new.
Johnny and Pat at Rockn Repair got my speaker working in very short order and charged a very reasonable fee. They were very responsive and willing to accommodate to my availability. Also, they have parking, which helps a lot.
Best repair shop in town. Terrific folks, highly competent and sweet as pie. Theyve fixed a half-dozen synths, mixers, and other fiddly electronics for me that other shops wont touch, and the work is always done quickly and at a fair price.
Called the next day back and knew exactly what the problem was, able to fix it very quickly and were incredibly helpful and professional, cant recommend enough.
I was having issues with my receiver, and I brought it in to be fixed. Patrick looked at it, texted me with updates. While the problem turned out to be unfixable, Patrick responded by 1) not charging me since he could not repair the problem and 2) helping me find a better replacement, including looking over options I texted to him and giving me feedback on them. The place is awesome, and I cannot recommend them enough. I will definitely use them again if needed!
They brought my Wurly back to life! Everyone at the Shop was helpful, responsive and easy to work with throughout the project. Ill be bringing my amp in next for a tuneup.
Incredible repair shop! I think every musician in DC either is or will bring their equipment here to check and fix. Wonderful and amazing staff, with the skill of Ninjas. I brought my Ukulele into the shop few months back to install a pick up on it and guess what, it was done in an hour and I am looking forward to the next trip I make to Rockn Repair.
Great experience all around with Rock’n Repair. Definitely would recommend. Walked in with my broken controller that needed a repair and was out the with it fully functional within minutes. Super friendly and helpful staff ready to answer my questions and fix my gear right away.
I would take anything here to get fixed! Peter went above and beyond to suss out a problem with a dead keyboard (which I ended up not getting fixed, as it wasnt worth it to me to spend the $$$) and fixed a second one for me. The shop is very clean and well organized, the guys are super friendly and obviously knowledgeable and theres just enough gear in there to tell you that theyre busy and on top of it! Super reasonable prices, meticulous work and (for me) super quick turnaround times = perfection... Rockn Repair is something weve needed in DC for a long time and I absolutely recommend them to everyone needing repair work!
The best instrument equipment repair shop in the DMV. I went to another shop first, which asked for $100 just to LOOK at my microphone and see if they can fix it. I declined, took it to Rock n Repair who ended up doing it for FREE because it was such an easy fix. Guys who work there are just real cool dudes, and real music lovers too. Gonna try to break something again so I got an excuse to go back n chop it up with them again 😂
The best audio repair & instrument tune up shop on town - bar none. Peter is has an encyclopedic knowledge of electronics and acoustics, and is also the a strong contender for nicest guy in DC. He has fixed two of my guitars and amps in record time. Would give 6 stars if I could.
These guys really are the best in town. Ive pretty much taken all my broken audio and musical equipment to Pete and he knows exactly what to do. They always have helpful suggestions and go above and beyond with things like same day repair for smaller projects, showing you exactly what theyre doing on the spot, explaining issues in a clear way. And fair prices. Best in town!
Patrick fixed my electrical issue with my keyboard in under an hour.Pat, hes the man!
I cant recommend Rockn Repair highly enough - I am an artist working on a project that I needed some custom electronics work for, and Pete went above and beyond to set up something that turned out better than I expected. He was super helpful, communicative, and incredibly reasonable on the price for the amount of work involved.D.C. is so lucky to have Rockn Repair as a resource!
Took my electric piano in for repair of the power jack - fast courteous service, working great now. Will not hesitate to call on them for future needs.
I took my bass pedal rig to Rock and Repair last week, there were all kind of problems going on with the pedals and hook-ups that I could not identify. Despite my being in a time crunch because of an upcoming gig, Pete was very quick to assess the issues, and able to restore everything perfectly. This was my second time going to him for repairs and he nailed it. Best spot in town for electronic/gear repairs and overall great service, hands down.
Pete was great in repairing a broken studio monitor I had. When I initially reached out via email he gave an estimated quote, and when I brought my item in for repair he gave an exact quote for my repair (broken tweeter, $25 + the cost of the new part, which I thought was reasonable), and gave me an estimated time that the repair would be completed. Pete did a great job on the repair and finished it ahead of time. Very professional service!Judging by the variety of equipment and his depth of knowledge, he should be able to tackle any issue you throw at him! It is nice to have this kind of service locally in DC - I highly recommend.
Pete was very honest & knowledgeable in diagnosing the issues my bass amp was experiencing. Setting up an appointment online was very easy. The DrumCity staff was very helpful with lugging my equipment out of the car. I would not hesitate to bring in more items for evaluation and repair.
All of the other 5 star reviews are completely accurate, and on top of that, Pete will also go the extra mile to fix other electronics, too. I brought in a small video game console to be fixed, and though it was a complex issue, Pete went out of his way to figure out what was wrong and install the correct parts. He couldve told me it was beyond his capability (which I wouldve been fine with), but he didnt settle and didnt quit until it was done. Now, my console is working perfectly. I wouldnt trust anyone else with this repair!
Pete and his team are outstanding! I had a 30 year old string of musical Christmas lights that failed, and even though it is outside of his normal repair focus area, he still offered to take a look at it. Within 30 minutes he had found and repaired 2 problems, and restored the musical string to working condition. This item has strong sentimental value to our family, and in a world of throw out and replace, it was great to find someone willing to take the time to bring things back to life.
Peter runs a great electronics repair shop. Last year he fixed my stereo receiver for a very reasonable price. Today I had a problem with a computer speaker system. Peter replaced the fuse, tested the fix and sent me on my way- no charge. It is also great that he is open on the weekends.Peter is an electrical engineer so he can fix more than stereo equipment. When I was in today I saw he had repaired a sewing machine, which he noted the sewing repair place told the customer it could not be fixed.I recommend Rockn Repair without reservation.
Pete is the best!!! He was able to fix my band mates guitar with less than 24 hours notice and save us before a gig the next day! His prices are incredibly reasonable and he’s just a great person and musician that I’m happy to support. Give this man your $$$!
Ive never actually gotten anything repaired by him, but hes always happy to discuss issues and share his vast knowledge and experience. Nice guy and very helpful. thanks!
I’ve brought a guitar and broken foot pedal into this shop for repair. Not only is Peter speedy, and will get you your equipment back in a reasonable time, he’s thorough and gets the job done well. One of the items I brought in wasn’t broken, and he didn’t charge for his time in his diagnosing the issue and providing a solution. He’s got a good engineering background and understands a broad array of issues.
Pete is terrific. I have taken tons of stuff to him, and he knocks it out very quickly. Once or twice the problem has been so simple he just took care of it immediately and didnt even charge me. He is fair and efficient. Plus hes super nice, and takes care of communicating with customers very well. Stop trekking out to Beltsville. We have a great repair shop right here in DC!
Only shop in the area that will work on any piece of vintage equipment no matter how obscure. Pete is an electronics genius and will figure out any kind of amp, reel to reel, pedal, you name it. He can rewire a guitar quickly and with ease. Just need a quick truss adjustment? He can do that too! Need advice on a complicated/custom setup? He has master tech Johnny Graves on his team, who can explain in detail and in laymans terms what and how he will do work on your guitar or bass. This shop deserves a million star review
Pete is an absolute expert at what he does. He is a master. His knowledge for electronics is boundless and he is capable of fixing anything. He is super easy to work with and reasonable with his rates. I am so happy to know that there is a reliable and reasonably priced repair guy in town now.
Amazing work on a unique and difficult repair. Peter went beyond the normal scope of repairing and ordered special parts to fix a well used Playstation 4. It’s been humming since I received it back. Service was very prompt with great communication throughout. Highly recommend to anyone considering a repair!
Best repair shop in the dmv hands down. Can’t see myself anywhere else for repair of guitars, Amps, speakers, electronics any sort of gear. Staff are incredibly skilled, timely and patient. If you are a musician in the dmv you need to know this place.
Pete did an amazing job repairing my Ashdown amp. After picking up my amp, it actually sounds way better than it did when I brought it in. If you live in the DC area there is no reason to take your amp anywhere else. Turn around is fast and Pete is an expert. I will be going here for all my gear repair needs in the future.
Peter was a life saver! A total life saver! He was able to repair my USB drive that had physical damage and wasnt detected by my computer anymore. I would have lost original compositions that I hadnt backed up yet (Ill never make that mistake again!!). I also found his pricing very fair, and the customer service was outstanding! I highly recommend!!
I highly recommend Peter at Rock’n Repair for your repair needs. I took a vintage turntable that needed repair in and Peter fixed it all and the cost was very reasonable especially compared to other turntable repair places in the DMV area. I wouldn’t hesitate bringing more items for repair to Rock’n Repair. 5 stars. Highly recommended!
Excellent tech who is super friendly and willing to teach! A priceless commodity in the city! Got my P Bass up and running again in less than an hour. Thanks again Pete!!
I stripped an intonation screw on my BC Richs Floyd Rose (doh!) and brought it into Pete. His Floyd Rose specialist, named Seth, was able to easily fix the issue, and he also did an AMAZING job setting up the guitar. It sounds spectacular now, and plays beautifully. Thanks Seth!!!
Amp repair in DC proper? You dont say! Oh, but I do. This is so convenient, and Pete does an awesome job explaining whats going wrong and addressing the issue. Friendly and totally reasonable!
Pete did an awesome job of repairing my Gibson tube amp! The price was reasonable and the turn around time was very fast. I highly recommend going to Pete for repairs or maintenance for ones musical equipment.
Peter has saved my professional butt on multiple occasions, rescuing me from hardware and software problems, in person and remotely, with competence, grace, and compassion. Not only does he have the technical skills to fix pretty much everything, but he is also a careful listener. He never condescends to his clients, which is a rare virtue indeed. I hope I never have to work with anyone else ever again for my computer needs, because Peter broke the mold. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
This place is easily my favorite repair shop around. After a few conversations with Pete at 7 Drum City about some guitar mods I wanted, it was easy to notice Petes expertise and passion for his work. He is also a very friendly person who was patient and willing to answer all the questions I had about what I wanted to do with my guitar. Wanting to learn more about the process to satisfy my own curiosity, I brought in my Fender Strat to have new Mothers Milk pickups installed and to replace some older parts, and asked Pete if I could get a walk-through of the installation. Not only did he explain every step of the process as he worked on my guitar, he even taught me how to solder some of the parts using his own tools, and gave me advice on how to take care of smaller problems at home to avoid unnecessary trips to the repair shop. Its been a few months since I got this job done and my guitar sounds better than it ever has. Basically, Petes a stand up guy whos highly skilled and running a top quality repair shop that wont break the bank. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs work done on their equipment.
Rock’n Repair did a fantastic job with my guitar set-up. Custom adjustment at the nut of the guitar! Always highly professional, great communication, very reasonable prices. Love Rock’n Repair!
Pete has done several jobs for me, including setting up a Stratocaster I hadnt played in over a decade and fixing a couple pedals that needed new electronics. Pete does great work at a very good and reasonable price. I highly recommend his services for all your musical repairs!
This guy is awesome. Great service. Very competent and a great communicator
Cant express how meaningful it is to take your gear to a place where someone knows their stuff, is as professional. Pete did some electronic work on my axe and enhanced its over all performance. Great job!!!! These guys really know their stuff!!!!
Referred by a friend, I asked Pete at Rock n’ Repair to take a look at my 1966 Fender Super Reverb amp. The thing was in desperate need of a tuneup and I most definitely brought it to the right place: Pete was very thorough, replacing capacitors, fuses, and checking and cleaning the tubes. The amp sounds great and Pete was super friendly and reasonable about price.
Ive had a few things repaired here, from a vintage reel-to-reel Teac tape deck to most recently my Peavey Classic 30 guitar amp. In both cases, electronics/engineering guru Peter and the rest of the Rockn Repair crew did a great job, restoring/repairing each item beautifully. Peter is a professional and clearly loves what he does, and he is a musician as well, so he is pretty much the best dude for fixing up any music-related equipment you have! Highly highly recommend this place!
Brought in my Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue which was making intermittent noises and static. Pete was kind and attentive when I explained the issue, and within an hour he ran through the tubes and circuitry, identified the problem, fixed it, and had me on my way. The amp sounds great again and I could not be happier with the service I received! I will definitely be returning with any future repairs or mods I might need.
Such an awesome place. These guys are the meaning of the word expert. Fixed my Gibson SG and helped me put the finishing touches on my custom pedalboard. 100% recommend.
Pete and the staff at Rockn Repair recently repaired my treasured vintage Roland Juno 60 synthesizer. Unfortunately I havent had a lot of luck finding a dedicated and trusted tech in the DC area to fix vintage gear, so I was extremely happy to connect with Pete. He ended up going above and beyond to get things up and working again, even so much as purchasing and harvesting parts from a non-functional Juno 60 (!!!). I had a waiting list spot at another major east-coast repair shop but Pete was able to get my issue addressed so I didnt have to travel out of town to get my synth fixed. Highly recommend Rockn Repair!
Ive had guitars, effects, and amps repaired by Rockn Repair. They are easy to deal with, the prices are fair, and the work is impeccable. I cannot recommend them enough!
Courteous, reasonably priced repairs at a convenient location! I messed up a 2x12 cabinet trying to switch out speakers and Peter returned it to its former glory, and now its working and sounds great!
Pete fixed a bunch of my modular synths, and did some other stuff on the modular rack, and did a great job fixing a new pick up system on my old acoustic. he also changed a battery for me, without pointing out how silly i was for not knowing the thing had a battery.
I have never met a shop as cool and dedicated to both the craft and community.
Never got anything fixed here but I can vouch for Peter Serano, guy is a legend, he can build op amps from scratch and fix a ton of board level issues with both new and legacy audio equipment. If anything intrumental or Audio wise breaks, bring it here.
Ive brought a struggling 66 blackface Fender Bassman, a dead Sovtek Mig100U, and a wonky bass Big Muff to Pete and hes been able to bring everything back to life. If you live in the DMV and have wounded tone warriors, look no further. Rockn Repair will get everything battle ready for you with knowledgeable and friendly service to boot!
Pete was super professional in repairing my Macbook computer cord, saving me a lot of money on a new one. Highly recommend Rockn Repair for any Mac or PC computer/laptop repair!
Pete did an amazing job bringing out Juno 60 synthesizer back from the dead. It was a complex repair, but he stuck to it and ultimately resolved the issue. Definitely the only shop/tech in town It trust with a vintage drum machine/analog synth fix. A+ communication, too.
Pete’s next level. Same-day fix on a guitar that had bested multiple prior technicians. Look no further.
Best repair shop around - Petes the best repair guy around
The awesome team at RocknRepair has cured many of my electronic ills. Theyre always super friendly and professional.
Dropping my gear off at Rockn Repair is a bit like dropping it through a rift in the space-time continuum. My vintage equipment comes back looking and functioning beautifully, like it just came out of the original box.The first thing I brought them was my vintage analog synthesizer, the late-seventies/early-eighties Micromoog. After a very poor experience with another shop in the area -- where my synth sat for weeks before it was looked at, and where, when I finally did get it back, as much had been broken as fixed -- I was considering shipping the thing to Moog headquarters! When I got my Micromoog back from Rockn Repair, I almost didnt recognize it. Sure, they addressed the problem I brought them, but they went the extra mile -- and kept right on going after that! As a bonus, Rockn Repair replaced toggles missing since before I owned the synth, aligned the crooked grin that had been my keyboard, replaced every electronic component beyond its shelf life, and removed gunk inside and out that had been there so long I couldnt even see it anymore.Since then Ive trusted Rockn Repair with a couple of guitar pedals, a four-track recorder, and probably other stuff I cant think of right now. Every experience has been as positive as my first, and Rockn Repair is the only place I take my stuff any more. What I like best about Rockn Repair, in no particular order:- Location. No more trips to the burbs to get my stuff looked at. Now I service my gear where my band practices.- Value. The prices are very fair, and the service is excellent. We had a good feedback loop going about how much I wanted to spend on which projects. They were willing and able to work with my timelines and budgets.- Thoroughness. See above re the work performed on my Micromoog!- The geek factor. They love what they do, they love to talk about it, and it shows. I feel like Pete is as invested in my synth as I am, and as excited to try out new ideas as me.Bring your broken stuff to Rockn Repair -- you wont regret it. Better yet, bring it in before it breaks for some preventative maintenance. I do!
These guys are the best in the biz.
Pete is a straight up wizard. Knows his stuff, has all the stuff, so just give him your stuff and let him do his thing!
Pete can fix anything.
