This is a very cool building to visit. The history behind it is also very interesting which you can learn all about it in the basement. The building is very clean!! Lots of staff available to help answer any questions you may have. The first and main floor is the Apple store but it’s not like a regular Apple store. There is a huge selection of all of Apple’s products. On the second floor is a digital art gallery and the library but they were both clothed when I came on a Saturday. Still a cool visit and it’s free to enter and walk around.

I went into the Apple Store at Carnegie to buy an Apple product for the first time. I was told to wait by another worker but I was pressed on time so they sent me to the payment table where Andrea was working. To my surprise, I quickly realized that she was hard of hearing. She used a tablet to communicate and we were able to get the devices I wanted smoothly. When she verbally spoke to me and I didnt understand, she graciously typed and I got my items quickly. I really appreciated her service. I have never been served by a hard-of-hearing individual and the experience was pleasant. It made me desire to interact with more individuals with varying levels of ability in the future. I commend the Apple Store at Carnegie Library for their ability inclusive hiring process which enabled me to meet Andrea because she was incredible.

I was in the store, I arrived on time. They received me respectfully, they were kind, they offered me a place while it was my turn. I told the seller that I don’t speak English, but I speak Spanish. They were attentive to me framing a Spanish speaking salesman so I could tell why I came. This is a very elegant and attentive grst deal on the part.

Poor Parking and slow timelines. Phone was ruined by IOS 15 update. had a seven plus and it completely glitched (256GB) so I brought it in and there isnt much they can do. Audio crashed and battery health is low but software may still have an issue. None of the work was comped or discounted even though it was apples fault. These updates sabotage older model phones so you have to go in and buy a new one. It is also annoying that you have to back up you iPhone over iCloud or direct to your computer. With a 256GB phone most computers cant fit that backup on it so I pretty much gave into paying the 2T cloud subscription plan. Just becoming a disappointed customer at this point. Apple is so large of a company they should have more apple stores. Another major corporation with layers of layers of communication chain of command it becomes difficult to get things done. their volume is so high at this store you feel like they are trying to just keep it moving. If your stuff dont work just buy a new one mentality

Apple has done a beautiful job restoring this historic building. Times change and Apple is preserving the past. Apple hosts more than just products to see. Free Genius classes are offered in the central, sun-filled space. The ground floor hosts a modest art gallery. The 2nd floor hosts the DC History Center operated by the Historical Society of Washington, D.C.

The have nice safety measures during covid. I had an appointment and had to wait ten min in the line. The service by these people is APPALLING, I am not a guy usually complains of bad customer service. But I visited this store 3 times to replace my battery because the battery performance was very bad. The first time I went the diagnostics showed the battery was in good condition. But I told them the charge drops suddenly and it doesn’t hold full charge more than half a day. They told me to erase my phone and use it for a week and check how the battery performs. I did that and still my battery was bad. I made a second appointment almost a week ahead to replace my battery and when I visited the store they told me they are out of batteries that fit my phone. Are you kidding me, I drove 30 min -one way for the whole purpose of replacing it and paid parking and then u say you don’t have the part. Then why the heck did you give me an appointment if you don’t have the part. Finally the third time, I have been told that my battery replacement cost is waived over phone and when I went to the store they say the lady did not note that information down and the manager told me I have to pay $70 out of my pocket. Their justification was I didn’t do a reset connecting to my computer in the first place and thats why they the test was not complete and you have to pay out of pocket. Then you should have done that diagnostic in my first visit. I would not go to this store again and I am sick and tired of their excuses and service. They are located in the heart of DC and provide such a HORRIBLE SERVICE. Didn’t expect that from apple.

The inside of this place is beautiful but the customer service and information from the genius techs is terrible. I went into the store on two different occasions one time for my iPad and one time for my IPhone. I left out not even wanting to have Apple items anymore based on the service. I didn’t receive a new phone or tablet from this location either time. I feel as though the techs here are are not properly trained based on how they spoke to me as a customer trying to replace their items who has Apple Care! Telling me no one else can assist me ( not even a supervisor) w/ my problem and that all apple stores would tell me the same thing. The worst customer service experience I ever encountered has been at this location. The point is I just will not be returning to this location. I was able to receive help from Georgetown Apple store after 4 days of not having my phone. He had no problem replacing the phone literally less then 30 minutes.

Went to purchase an iPad. The ASL sales representative (Janis) was fantastic and very helpful. We were about to close the sale, but, another store assistant (one directing customer traffic; ‘store-traffic person’) made it an unpleasant experience. We required assistance resetting the MacBook Air (trade-in/exchange) and the store was about to close. A polite “we need to close now and don’t have anyone to reset the system” would have sufficed, but, they hit me with a condescending “are you guys going to buy an iPad today?”, “it is the customer’s responsibility to reset”, “I will send you a link to reset instructions”, “we don’t work for commission”, etc.Long story short - We felt embarrassed for the ASL sales-rep and interpreter who, scheduled an appointment with a technician to help with the reset and apologized for the store-traffic person’s behavior.

A dehumanizing experience. Went in for phone repair; I told them I had not backed up and my photos were important to me. Shouldnt be a problem they said... but they couldnt fix it and replaced the phone. They wouldnt let me get my computer and come back to offload my photos from the broken phone. Was told I should have backed up or paid for more storage. Allowing me to come back in an hour would have been a minor inconvenience to them - but no, wouldnt let me do it and months of family photos are gone. I left feeling like I was a waste of their time.

Also, I was here on the locations opening day in 2019 and really enjoyed how the Carnegie Library was repurposed so nicely for the store. The DC History Center upstairs and downstairs exhibit on the Librarys history are really enlightening and cool to peruse as well.Im admittedly a fan of Apples products and stores, and can say with confidence that this one is one of their best put together stores. In terms of aesthetics and overall experience, its up there with the Downtown Brooklyn, Fifth Avenue, and Grand Central Terminal stores in NYC and the location at The Grove in Los Angeles.

This review really only reflects the salesman and does not reflect anything else about the store. Its clean, its appointment only unless theyre not all booked then walk-ins seem like theyre allowed. Everyone is socially distanced and all of the Apple items are available to look at.Just went to the store today to speak to someone about the differences between the Macbook Pro and the Macbook Air. I was ready to make my purchase today if I could only have spoken to someone who actually knew what they were talking about. My salesman, Victoria, had no knowledge of the products she was selling and she seemed very uninterested in selling anything to me. I was in and out in less than 8 minutes. It felt like she was kicking me out since she knew she didnt have in stock the items I was interested in purchasing . Terrible experience, Ill just do all of my shopping online for Apple.

Im not giving this a five-star rating because its an Apple store. Im doing it despite being an Apple store.Pretty much every Apple store is the same, wherever you go. This one seems the same when you go in, although the restored Carnegie building space itself is very nice. What makes this store special is the stairway almost hidden away in the back.Upstairs, you can visit the DC History Center, which is basically an expansion of the City Museum space that was in the Carnegie building a few years ago. The History Center contains a city timeline, artifacts from the citys history, and one room dedicated to panoramas both printed and digital, called The Big Picture. You wont want to come here all the time, but its definitely worth a visit.Downstairs, you can see photos and blueprints for the Carnegie Library itself. This is small but also worth seeing. Both museum sections are free.

La
Review №94

This review is based off 2 incidents from the Genius Bar staff at this specific store. One with my husband and one of myself. I’ll start with my husbands experience. This store wanted to repair an issue on a new iPhone 10s and instead of exchanging it (it was under warranty), they replaced a part of the phone that ended causing more issues on the phone such as the microphone not working bearing it worse then before the “fix”. A total mess. Now my 3 day ordeal with this particular store comes in. I had an iPhone 11 Pro Max with a camera issue. I got a black screen at random times and did screenshots and screen recordings of the issue. First day, I came in and they couldn’t reproduce the issue and was asked to erase my iPhone and set it up as new. I reluctantly did that with huge hesitation. That reluctance was valid as the issue persisted. I called Apple Care ( I have Apple Care +) and they said I should be able to get my device swapped out. They notated my account and day 2 of this mayhem starts.Day 2: I come in and I present them a case ID # and they claim I can’t get a replacement because “they don’t do never that until something is fixed” and was offered a camera replacement and yet ANOTHER day of work being taken off. I kindly rejected the offer and asked for a supervisor . That manager was mildly aggressive with his approach and practically said “I don’t care what Apple Care says, I won’t swap your phone out”. I ask for a higher manager. He states that they are not in the business to swap out phones and that while my inconvenience was unfortunate, he also didn’t care what Apple Care said and offered some kind of “express return” which he said would cost 500.00. Other customers around me were in shock and told the rep to help with a proper solution especially with such a new product. Customers around me were very uncomfortable. The last manager tried to come off sympathetic but came off uncaring, deceptive and completely ridiculous. I couldn’t with the amount of ignorance. I’ve had iPhones since the 3GS and have never had this kind of experience. I left and immediately called Apple and the customer relations team was NOT happy about this insane issue. They again noted my account and fixed the issue promptly. This specific stores Genius Bar is a disaster and needs to take several steps back to respecting a customers time and request.Day 3: Issue finally resolved with a much more competent team.
