Great gym. I just joined this week and they have everything I was looking for at a very affordable price! Everyone is very respectful and good about cleaning the machines after use. There is enough equipment available to ensure you aren’t waiting around even when it’s busy. Highly recommend this gym!

I have been a Member of Planet Fitness Waltham for many years and overall I have enjoyed it. I have seen many Staff Members and Managers come and go because its Near by a College so they usually get seasonal staff. However this Review is more for the Manager Sandra Craig and while Im giving 3 Stars to the Club, she does take the additional 2 Stars. I have managed anywhere between 20 - 50 Staff Members and the Managers myself, and I know how difficult it is to find someone like Sandra. Allow me to explain why!First time I met her about a year ago, She was Personal, Polite yet Professional. Even now, Not only myself but other regulars too, she greets all of us with a smile and by using our first names. WOW! How wonderful is that! I have never seen any other Managers spend as much time on the Floor cleaning and wiping Machines, engaging with Members, having meeting with her staff at the desk and even show up long hours on the weekends, as much as Sandra does. It seems like she really cares about the place and succeeding. The current seasonal staff who just went back to School are Gina, Dominique, Denielle, Cassidy & Tamia are all great but my only concern is the Manager needs some long term help or she would get burned out.I would say Sandra is truly an asset to any corporate, and Planet Fitness is fortunate to have her. I truly hope she gets rewarded in some ways for her outstanding service, which is rare to find now a days.

Ok gym equipment, but thats about it. Bathrooms are gross and their heat and AC are poor.They dont care about their members either. The company only survives by billing people who no longer use the gym, so theyre incredibly obstinate about cancelling. Choose a different gym.

Wonderful place with a great staff, excellent and appropriate equipment and also very safe. They take all needed steps to keep people healthy and safe from the virus. Choose to go.

I have a concern about the mask policy. Its a good idea to ask everyone wearing a mask all the time, however, I saw many people didnt wear a medical mask. They only cover their mouth and nose with a cloth mask but a cloth mask cant effectively protect. Ive heard some tennis courts nearby reported COVID-19 confirmed cases for the past months. Please take action for this ASAP.

The location last time in malden.very bad .no internet.no welcome.very bad.you can not listen to the music with the wifi.you can not buy nothing .I talk to the guy in the reception but he was careless and rudeHe dont wanna give me his name.and he didnt want to give his manager phone number.now I go to Medford Wich was just ok.but the Waltham of very good

Its a good gym. The pipes get clogged every once in a while which is annoying but hasn’t happened recently!

No Grunting, No cut offs ts, and no dropping weight? An they play awful music, if I were 10 and in gym class I would enjoy the music. The absolute worst gym I have ever been to! It’s to bad you have to give at least a one star in a review

Employees are good but people using the gym are dirty dont clean anything.

My experience actually going to the gym was fine. The staff are nice, and the facility is nice and clean. My bad experience began in March, when I tried to cancel my membership. The pandemic began, and the gym was still open at this point. I called them to cancel the membership, but they said I had to come in person. I couldnt do so because I didnt feel safe going there during a pandemic. They didnt inform me that I could send a letter in order to revoke authorization, but then the gym was shutdown so payments stopped until August. However, in August charges started again, so I called them again. They told me to send a letter, so I did. They sent me an email confirming that they recieved the letter, but since then they have charged a $40 fee (presumably an annual payment) and just yesterday they charged a monthly $20 fee for September. I sent them an email telling them that I will be disputing the charges, and have contacted my bank to tell them not to authorize further payments, and to dispute the charges. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS WITH PLANET FITNESS. I have looked up other similar complaints, and they are many. Some people have sent multiple letters and called many times and continue to be charged. I will be suing the company if charges continue.

Ive been going to this Planet Fitness on and off for a decade. I sign up everytime I move near the area again. Theres a reason I keep going back!

I am absolutely disgusted with this organization. I tried to call and cancel my partners membership. She is on hospice and will pass away in the next few days or weeks. I was told she had to come in to the gym to cancel....that’s a joke. I said, she’s on hospice.They said she could write a letter. I told them she was heavily medicated and that was not an option.I asked them to please just cancel her over the phone and they refused. They told me I could bring in an obituary after she died and they would cancel her. As if I didn’t have enough to worry about, now they expect me to print out an obituary and go into a gym to cancel my dead partners gym membership?Planet fitness should be ASHAMED.

2nd time at planet fitness in Waltham and I absolutely love it. Its probably one of the best PF ive been to. Very spacious clean and well maintained.

Nice gym but wear a mask, i dont want it to close.

I don’t even know where to begin. I actually like planet fitness because of the low price and convenience. I visit multiple planet fitnesses depending on where I’m at since I live on the north shore and work in Waltham. Every time I go to the Waltham location I am disappointed. The only good thing about this location is the front desk staff is friendly, welcoming, and greets you with a smile. Other than that the place is dirty, and always has been. Since the pandemic it has actually gotten worse if you can believe it. No one is social distancing and tons of people do not have a mask on, and I don’t expect the late teen 20 something year old staff to police patrons. The amount of people without a mask on the correct way in there is disturbing and scary. I do not feel safe and I am not an overly scared person, if I see someone without a mask I just simply keep my distance. BUT it is so over crowed and so dirty it is hard to keep distance and feel safe there. It is disturbing, unsafe, unsanitary, and just wrong. The people who work there are young so I can understand why they don’t see the danger and they don’t typically leave the front desk but it’s dangerous and I’m honestly surprised the board of health hasn’t shut them down.

The employees just started to launch the lunk alarm so much times and there was nothing happening in gym. They used that to say what time gym is closing but they’re bothering everybody inside.

They’re running the lunk alarm 10 minutes before close to tell the guys that they will be closing. It’s not the first time that this thing happens. It’s very annoying

Very neat, lots of equipments and helpful staff makes it a best place to go. Has a lot of parking space too. They do occasionally order pizzas which you can take home. Recently they added new equipments. You always will have equipments free even though it gets crowded

AWFUL MANAGEMENT! The manager needs to revisit their customer service training. They are inconsistent in their policies and there is misinformation among the staff. That should not be your customers issue. Whenever management changed here, it was for the worse. It seems this isnt the first review of this kind regarding their manager so, please be informed before you spend your money at this location. There are plenty of other PF locations in the Boston area. I hate to post negatively, but the approach here is negative all around.

The equipment is generally good and staff are friendly. But be aware that I lost a Canada Goose down jacket here and they happened to not have a camera, which was fine. And I sent them an e-mail to cancel my membership without getting any reply. So they kept deducting money from my account. All of these are not unreasonable, but just be aware of these issues happened to me.

All new equipment. Might not like showers in mens locker room. Gang showers. Not too many gyms have that any more. I grew up with them and like the room. Black card is worth the $20 a month. Great deal.

One of the better locations in my experience. The demographic includes a lot of middle-aged locals and retirees, all regulars, who are friendly and considerate. People get in there, do their thing. The parking is great, too, with a very spacious area and easy in/out.

Dirty, I didnt see nobody spray the machines, a lot people without mask, dirty equipment, dirty floor, not enough disinfect spray and paper for use. Avoid this location, covid 19 will definitely stay there.

Well kept with ample equipments spread over a large area! During my several visits, I didnt notice this branch to be crowded with members, even on peak days/times.

A little hard to find back in the boonies, but the gym itself was pretty solid. Weird layout like a lot of PFs, and the weight area had a bit of a draft, but theyve got a water jet massage bed and the staff was polite and helpful. Not overcrowded like some PFs Ive visited. Overall a good PF location.

Awesome place! I joined not too long ago and I love it. The staff is always really nice and they open early (5am) so i can get my workout in before i get ready for work. They have a good selection of machines and i like that there is an upstairs area where you can do core workouts as well as running on a few treadmills.

Manager just overwhelming person. She is not a person who can be good manager. Prices are very low but u can always sign up with better club.

The management here is a joke! I just witnessed the manager hang up on a customer. If an underinformed staff member misleads you, which is THEIR problem, not yours, you will not receive the support and consideration you deserve. Its the most miserable excuse for customer service Ive seen to date.

It’s been several times, the lady asked everyone to leave 15 minutes earlier than it’s claimed closing time so that she can finish her cleaning work and leave early. Maybe she’s the manager? If you close 15 minutes early you should say on the website that you close at 7:45 pm instead of 8:00 pm! And her attitude was really bad. Not going to come to this location again.

Heating & air conditioning needs service. Seems lately treadmills tracks arent tight enough (they do take a lot of use ) & a few more than one of certain machines. Maybe some sort of exercise classs upstairs would be great!!! But the clients are nice and never any problems.

You cant beat the price. When I dont go I dont feel guilty cuz I havent spent a fortune on it. The gym pretty basic but has everything you need. Pretty well kept and clean.

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had an issue until recently; although my experience hasn’t been great it was ok enough that I kept coming back. You get what you pay for. The front desk staff is rude at times, and the bathroom is often dirty. That I can look past. BUT the WiFi hasn’t been working for months, that it’s really annoying. I’ve sent and email and have asked the front desk staff about it several times and haven’t gotten any answers. At this point I rather find a new gym.

Its an OK gym. They dont repair things too quickly. mens sink is leaking, an elliptical machine has been out of order for months. Ive requested a water filling station but have not seen any feedback taken. They have 2 slow water fountains which are not make for refilling bottles.

It has been a while since Ive visited, so while I was here I decided to work out at this gym. Wow! This place had made some great improvements. I was here during lunch time, so it was quite busy, but one thing I noticed was there were no trash around the equipments, and the trash cans were not overflowing. I also witnessed 3 employees cleaning around, and not just standing around socializing, and doing nothing. Im glad to see management took notice. Great job!

Eddie the owner was a nice guy, old school Italian guy. Just shocked they werent open 24 Hours? I guess it was some law by Waltham. Shower was open not private, something you might not like? It was clean, the staff was very Professional. May God Bless Eddie and his family.

The Wifi never works. There are major heating issues which result in certain rooms being extremely hot, even in summer and at times, too hot in winter. They have a nice staff and it is reasonably clean. The location is awful.

Not sure whats up with the reviews. I found the staff to be delightful and helpful. Cheap and convenient place to exercise, not too crowded either.

The cleanliness is good but I advise you to place Clorox in the showers, it smells like moisture and is harmful to your health.

Did they repair the air conditioner yet?? It seems 🥵Not too busy. Down to earth clients. Need to repair treadmills quicker, though. Please Get a bigger trash in girls bathroom and More changing rooms. The worst thing is the heat! It’s too hot for cardio and no big ceiling fans!!!!

The customer service is not really good. I have a black card membership and the staff knows well that we visit gym only once in a week. But they refused to give guest the coins for massage chairs.Even though it may be excluded for guest members, other staff the other locations staff members were never seen this as an issue.

It’s a good workout place. The staff are helpful and trainers are free of charge regardless of your membership status.

Terrible place for five reasons:1. they dont tell you that you have to write them notice to close the account.2. They dont tell you that you should pay an annual fee besides down.3. One of their stuff sat on the massage chair watching you while you were relaxing on the the aquabed.4. the online account is not accessible.5. custom service always tells you I dont know

This gym is very close to where I live. Although the gym is good and boosts up your motivation seeing lot of people working hard in cardio area, but the staff is equally arrogant and very irresponsible. They do not treat customers as well as their guests properly. Luckily, I am a black card holder so I have used PF at other locations (Braintree MA, Minneapolis MN) and I can surely say that staff at other location were much more attentive and polite than here. Its a good working out area for its price if you can ignore staff!

It is cheap. The hours are great. And the people are nice. Yes, it could be a little cleaner and I wish it had free weights for benching and squats, but I was recently a member if BSC and for less than two months at BSC, I can work out all year a Planet Fitness in Waltham. To save the money, you have to do without some things, right?

This is my go to gym. Low fees, friendly staff, plenty of machines, and a nice sized stretching/floor workout area.

For the price youre not going to find a better deal. Contrary to the first reviewer, the machines are all pretty new and most read your heart rate etc. Staff is friendly and there is a lot of space to move around and do your exercises. The only downside is the lack of barbells but Im told by the owner the lack of is more a corporate planet fitness thing.

NO.Wifi doesnt work, but machines are almost always not a capacity. Always have pressure to make this gym my home-gym, which wouldnt happen.Dont like to attend, but do so if I miss ClassPass classes.

Its a nice facility, good location...i think its 24/7, but ive only been durimg usual business hours...sometimes locker room is clean, other times not. I dont think they clean the showers daily, as somedays ill see the same empty shampoo bottle as i did the day before in the showers, luckily i always wear my flip flops when showering there. Usual selection of machines that most planet fitnesss have.

I was a member here for more than 5 years. The place has become somewhat Yuppie. I recently quit.

Not good. The treadmills were old and didnt give heart rate or calorie info. All the equipment seemed old and beat up, not to mention the grime in every corner of every machine I used. Bits of paper towel all over the floor and garbage in the drink holders. Also a weird smell hits you upon entry. Im not a member of this gym, just an out of town visitor from another planet fitness whos moved into the area. I will be not be returning to this facility.

THIS GYM IS TRASH!!!! Given how empty it is, rules like NO JUMP ROPINGlol like jesus christ.... i should add it is enforced by the manager!!!!! lol he should be fired and publicly shamed!

My biggest issue is the bathroom. 1 urinal and one stall, are you serious? The shower was horrible! One big group shower, is it still 1970? Cmon! Even worse, 3 of the shower heads are directly in line with the bathroom mirror so its close to impossible to avoid seeing brown eyes, twigs and berries.No one was at the counter when I first got there, upon scanning the room I found it was because the dude was on an elliptical not paying attention.THis place needs a serious over haul

Lack of free weight (Max 75 dumbell) and bench press with non-guided bar for example. So definitely not a gym for serious weightlifting.Globally clean, not too much people, large openning hours.They also have a 50$ price for one month unlimited,which is good if you dont plan to stay long in the area (other gyms in Waltham dont have this ).

PF is the best place to work out, period.

Although I have just recently started going to Planet Fitness in Waltham I have found the PF staff to be very friendly, very helpful in answering any questions I have. I find it to be satisfactory clean. I have noticed that the PF users make sure they wipe down the machines after using. I was on the bike and if used properly it gives you your heart rate, distance traveled, amount of time on machine and calories burned. There are plenty of machines to use. I have gone to another planet fitness.. A newer one. Are there plus sides, yes. Waltham has individual showers for the women and doors on them. I wish the changing stalls were a little bigger, but they are ok. The newer one has individual showers with a plastic curtains and larger changing stalks. I prefer the doors in Waltham on the showers. Im not thrilled with where the tanning booths are in Waltham. I do like how the newer PF has individual rooms for tanning. For 20.00 a month for black membership I find it very reasonable and Im sorry I didnt start going sooner! I did start going with a friend who walked me thru many of the machines. I would hope that if I had questions on a specific machine that the staff would be knowledgeable. The machines do not seem old like some other people have commented on them being. Wifi worked for me perfectly. Steve the manager was very helpful when I had a question regarding the black membership, since the newer PF had told me I could only go to their PF 10x on a black membership. The newer PF did not tell me 10x per month, just said 10x. That is a big difference... Only 10x versus 10x per month.

Place is good enough but the manger Mike is worst! He did not do the paperwork on time and I was charged for another month. I had to call him to cancel the membership. Later he keeps saying I emailed to the regional manager. Where in the world is the regional manager who does not respond to the emails? I guess he is paid not to respond :).After 5 months, I am still waiting for the money to be refunded. Corporate is much worse! They dont have a customer care number. Email to someone and they will repond when they have time.
