The staff here is phenomenal. I’ve been visiting The Barber Shop for a couple years now. Obviously, you do get attached to your own barber, but on the off chance I don’t have time to wait or need a last minute cut, no matter whose chair you sit in, you’ll leave happy
I came in this barber shop a few days ago and I asked for a clean up, 1 inch all around. The guy that was cutting my hair was very nice and polite but i don’t think he knows what 1 inch is. When he finished my haircut it looked like he cut about 3 inches of instead of 1!! I will not be recommending this barber shop to anyone.
First, this shop is tucked away in an unimposing strip mall between a Lunardis and some other smaller businesses. It is difficult to get a quality exterior shot of the place. If you are seeking a high quality, no frills haircut, this is a good business. The prices are fair, the wait time is usually minimal, and the banter between the barbers makes the time it takes to cut your hair seem to fly by. Granted, its the type of banter one expects to hear in such a place: more cars and sports, less about mimosas and shoe shopping. The best thing about this place, after the polite and respectful manners of the barbers, is that there is no television to distract anyone. They serve men and young boys, but I believe the cutoff age is 12. Appointments are typically required.
Quality cuts, fair prices, fun and friendly environment. It’s always a pleasure to get my haircuts here. All the barbers give great cuts! I get my haircut from Justin though!
Great, get there haircut regularly. Cool service and reasonable prices
It was easy to schedule an appointment and I didnt even have to wait a minute for the seat. All the barbers seemed great.
This is the best barber shop in town. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. Its got that classic barber shop atmosphere. Got a great cut from Parker.
Nice place worth the drive. The owner is very welcoming.
Great and friendly service ... Justin is excellent!
Of the 3 times Ive been the first two were great... Last time I had to wear a hat after.
Friendly barbers Alex is awesome! %100Recommend this barbershop
This is quickly becoming my go-to. Got lucky in finding Vince. He always seems to get it right, which ends up being harder than I thought based on some other cuts. He takes his time, listens to your needs, and gives you a fresh, professional haircut. If youre coming for the first time, just put your name down on the chalkboard near the door and they set you up. Youre always greeted with a hi and a smile from the staff. Prices are cheaper than comparable shops, but you lose nothing on quality or service.
I came to this shop after getting a horrible haircut from another shop in Walnut Creek. Nick the owner immediately greeted me and told me he would get it fixed. Spent a ton of his time making my haircut perfect. I really appreciate there customer service and the entire staff is friendly. High recommend this barber and shop. I will be back.
Great bunch of guys
Justin gave me a great cut; he was friendly, accommodated my requests and left me feeling great walking out of the shop. Would definitely recommend, thanks Justin!
Local barbershop, old school feel!My kids get their cuts from here and we always like the out come.At times when it is busy, there will be a list and you might have to wait. That is the only issue. But other than that. Fair prices, good people and lively environment.
This is Eddy I moved away from the area miss you guys. Now its hard for me to find a barber. You guys were the best.
This place was phenomenal! They gave me the haircut I really wanted but didn’t even know how to put into words. Will be coming here again. Highly recommend to all. Great haircut, great environment.
After having a string of dissatisfying experiences with hair stylists, I decided to try out this new local sports barber shop. (Im not a sports fan.) There was, for sure, sports-related stuff on the walls, but otherwise the shop was unpretentious, with several guys cutting the hair of their respective patrons.I was a little surprised to see a small side table with complementary whiskey and scotch — and a few shot glasses at the ready. I felt a little like I was in a wild west movie. Well, I figured that whatever the haircut I got, this was worth the experience. And the Irish whiskey I tried was great, even though Im a vodka kind of guy.I sat for just a minute when my chance quickly came up, and Nick Baldwin was the one who invited me to a chair. We had a little back-and-forth about what I wanted. We then settled down and he went to cutting my hair. It turned out to be a little shorter than I had wanted, but he did such a good cut that I was very happy with his work. (My wife liked it, too.) I dont know if my good experience was a fluke, but Ive put Nick and the shop into my address book, and Im certainly going back the next time I need a hair cut.
The guys will normally take walkins no matter how long the line is, Which is pretty nice of them. Good place to get a fade and a beard trim. Would most definitely recommend.
Very professional traditional style barber shop. Well run and clean. Very busy shop, wait times can be long, sometimes a hour. Bonus: large strip mall parking lot.
Best haircut in town!! I will only go to these guys for a haircut. No matter who cuts your hair, it will look amazing! My friend showed me this spot about a year ago and I’ve never looked back. True barber shop!
These guys know what they’re doing. Ignore reviews that criticize their waitlist (chalkboard). The barbers are very upfront and honest about how the system works, always greet customers, give accurate and informed updates on wait times, and most importantly give great haircuts. The atmosphere is laid back and professional. If you want to run errands or get food while you wait they are more than willing to accommodate as long as you’re willing to give up your spot in line if you’re not back in time. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for quality haircuts at a very reasonable price.
Very nice old fashion hair cut
Justin was the best. 100% recommend!
We just moved to the area and I’ve taken my five year old son here twice now. Both of his barbers have been great! They take such care to get us exactly what we’re after. His hair looks perfect. Everyone is fun and friendly and the whole place has a great atmosphere. We’ll be going there everytime from now on.
Went here twice, wont be going back. Second time I didnt get a cut because I ran of time and couldnt wait longer. Barbers are good, and so if you dont mind long waits then this is a great option. I prefer an appointment based system so that I dont waste a bunch of time.
Id been unemployed for three months. After talking with the barber about my new job, and how I was in to get my beard trimed before I started. He offered to pay for my beard trim himself. I was so surprised and thankful, I forgot to get his name... Next time I go back, I wont forget what he did for me !
Long time patron, quality work, fun atmosphere, good for all, put your name down and go shopping at Lunardies or grab a coffee at Starbucks while you wait.
Almost wanna give these guys a mediocre review so I can keep this spot to myself but I couldnt do them like that. They are just too good. Had my hair and beard looking great for a reasonable price. Did and awesome job and didnt rush even though I was the last guy in the shop.
Great bunch of guys who understand what you want. Going to this barbershop is like going to a 2A custom Auto shop where its employees are Masters at their craft. they cut each others hair and it shows.
Great people, great cut and great experience :) Im was visiting my family from Germany and found this barber shop on Google. My man Parker gave me a really nice low fade and comb over and I really like the cut. Great job guys keep it up. Definitely see you when Im back in town!
Nick Baldwin kills it and so does Vince!!! I am on vacation from NYC home of some of the best barbers, and Nick and Vince lined my ass up real nice. Prob one of the best tapers and scissor cuts i have ever had in my life. Thanks for the great service and welcoming environment!
I have sat down with every barber in the shop and have received an incredible haircut every. Single. Time. If you demand the best quality experience, I highly recommend making this your “go-to” destination.Awesome dudes. Awesome environment. Awesome haircuts.
Barbers are pretty good. Vince, Patrick and Chris are the best. Prices are HIGH ($25 for a mans haircut? Ridiculous!). Wait times are long, Especially if you are waiting for one of the better barbers. Only reason I go there is convenience of location, but with increased wait times that may soon change. Recommend that they start taking appointments.
The spot. period.
I’ve been coming here for over a year now and couldn’t be happier! My first haircut was with Nick the owner and since then I’ve been hooked. Great local barber shop, good for all ages. Any cut any style no problems. Thanks for everything guys! slow neon lol
My fiance goes here since my mother told us how well they took care of my dad in his wheelchair (a HUGE plus in my book). They raved about the service, atmosphere and his haircut. So that ment my fiance and I had to find out for ourselves what they were talking about. We would go to Oakland and Alameda, CA for his haircuts so it was nice to know there could be a place we would be able to go to that was so close to home. We were so ecstatic with his haircut, the customer service and the atmosphere. Going on a Friday or Saturday afternoon there will be a long wait, which people are willing to wait for because of the quality of haircuts all of the barbers are able to deliver. My fiance has hair thats easy to see when theres a mistake because of his blonde hair. So searching for the best barber shop in the bay area is something we are willing to travel far for. Did I mention yet that the customer service here is outstanding? Or that every barber here knows what theyre doing? We are so happy with this place and enjoy coming because of all the qualities one looks for in getting any type of service from anywhere.
Cannot recommend this barber shop more highly. Friendly and capable barbers, reasonable prices, down-to-earth atmosphere. Nick re-defined my hair and beard and did exquisite, meticulous work. Really fun to enjoy the talents of someone who is serious about their trade. Will be back next time I am in the area.
They wont touch long-ish hair. And by long I mean just long bangs & the back not even down to my neck. If you dont want a close cut theyll tell you to go elsewhere, which they did. They told me to go to a salon. I just wanted a trim. Any other barber shop Ive been to in my life hasnt had a problem with cutting my hair. Go here only for short on the sides and top, and thats it, I guess.
A decent shop, great barbers, great atmosphere, customers range from toddlers to way the heck antique. Reasonable pricing. Capable of some fantastic looking styles (i seenm)
The wait times can be long but my boys LOVE this place and they do a great job with their hair so it’s worth it. Glad to have a nice barbershop so close without having to deal with downtown parking.
Always a good cut . Friendly fun environment always recommended anytime some one ask about my haircut
Angie did a great job with my 2 year olds hair cut. I couldnt be more pleased! My teenager wont go anywhere else. He said all of the guys there do a great job on his hair. They dont do appointments so sometimes you might have to wait a little bit & they only take cash. Just good to know before you go.
Best barber shop I have ever been to, and likely the best around! I have gotten my hair cut all over CA, and the world, and I have yet to receive a better haircut. I have tried just about every other good barber shop in Walnut Creek and no one else compares. You may find a decent barber somewhere but they are not consistent from one haircut to the next or the vibe on the shop is off or uncomfortable. The vibes here are just as good as the haircuts, and there is never a worry on the haricut I am going to get. The barbers ensure you get the haircut you want, even if you are unsure what that is exactly. I always see Nick when my son and I get cut. He is great at the new style haircuts and the true classics as well. It always surprises me that he is able to remember how we both get our different haircuts. He makes it super easy! The prices beat anywhere else in the area, not that price should ever be a factor in a good haircut, but it surprised me how seemingly low it was compared to other subpar barbershops of the area. If you try this shop I highly doubt you will even venture anywhere else again.
Friendly barbers best haircut in town been coming to these guys for-ever!
The atmosphere is amazing and the haircuts are top notch.
Great barbers here. Fun atmosphere. It was my first visit here and my haircut was perfect.
The best haircut in town. Expect a long wait however.
You want the cut .. they can do it. Incredible shop with even more incredible barbers.
Lets be honest the line is always long, especially during the summer. However the staff is very nice and personable, and the consistently give good hair cuts.
Fun environment. Personable people, skilled st their jobs. I received a great haircut, shave and beard trim.
I couldnt recommend this place more! I moved to the area about 3 years ago and over those few years I have tried at least 3 other shops that did mediocre to decent work.Walnut Creek Barber Shop goes above and beyond in all areas that matter. From their compmentary liquor table, to their friendly, chill atmosphere, these guys knock it out of the park. I usually get cut by Vince, he does an awesome taper and sizor cut, but the entire team is solid and you cant miss with anyone. My roommate gets cut by Nick, one of the owners. You can tell these guys really take their job seriously but are also extremely welcoming and want you to feel at home. The prices are extremely reasonable and I always look forward to a visit every couple weeks! Give this place a shot and I doubt youll go anywhere else.PS- The Sports Barber Shop sign, IMO does not represent this places overall vibe or establishment at all. It was left from previous owners (I think).
Excellent barber shop whose mantra of quality not quantity will keep me coming back here for my haircut.
Great local barber!
Best place for a haircut. Great with kids (even my kids) everyone is friendly and a great location
Awesome guys who provide an amazing haircut!! Customer service A+
Great place for boys and men to come get their hair cut by a barber. My boys of 14 and 16 liked listening to to Babers talk about life and video games.
Great group of guys, relaxed. No appointments, just write your name on the board when you arrive.
Can be busy from time to time, but its the only place Id ever get my hair cut now. I always leave looking good!
Just really good barbering!
Always a great hair cut, always bring my 93 yr old Dad and they are so nice to him. Shop is friendly and very CLEAN.
The worst hair cut ever! The barber who cut my hair was the one in the far corner when you enter from the main door and he messed up all my hair. I would not go to this barber shop again. It is expensive compared to other barber shops in town and on top of it, they dont understand the individual hair trimming needs of the client. All they do is joke around with clients to keep the atmosphere light but that doesnt mean you could get away with messing peoples hair. Sorry but I would not recommend this to anyone.
Took me years to find a shop like this, where I can walk in knowing that no matter who cuts my hair, Ill walk out feeling like a million bucks! Solid crew, good prices, and reasonable wait times.
Its my go to place but expect a wait. Ive never had a bad shave or haircut here.
A Hot MessWhen I go to the Lunardis delicatessen despite 29 people standing wanting cold cuts, they issue numbers and manage to call upon people who have been waiting in order. Then customers know when they are next, and it keeps people who have just arrived from being served before those who have been waiting. This concept eludes the Walnut Creek BarbershopInstead, they employ a blackboard on which you write your name and then they invite you to leave and give you an estimated time to return. You can wait if you choose. However, there are different lists: some are for those waiting for specific barbers. Everyone else waits for the part time barbers who arent, quite frankly, the sharpest tools in the shed. If you wait, you witness them being confused attempting to figure out the order on the board, and as you wait you will be asked if you wrote your name on the board. It is common to have the barbers then attempt to determine whether a person whose name is called has waited less time than someone seated. Sometimes 3 barbers become involved in the determination. When I go to get my haircut, I dont like feeling the need to be assertive.Ive been (now was) coming to this shop for seven years. While Ive always waited, service has become increasingly chaotic. Frankly, the last two years have been unpleasant. The chalkboard thing has only made it far worse. It worked when you had to sit your butt down in a seat and wait: x number of seats; you could figure out how long. But then 2 barbers werent out of the line up reserved for customers who were allowed to wait for them.Add to this guys who after 40 minutes in the chair then, at the end, who should be done deciding that they must have just a little more taken off the side or top (now, this isnt Danville mind you.) Then add another 15 or so minutes.Mysteriously, while a room of men is waiting (or off somewhere, yet to return) despite it being their rush hour, or day, the barbers are frequently taking little breaks. A guy gets into a chair and then his barber mysteriously vanishes for 7 minutes (smoke break/ to get coffee?) I have repeatedly witnessed this. Personally, I am in customer service, and I manage a helluva lot of different employees serving people, and we take breaks when the rush is over.Today, I arrived at 9:50 a.m. I wrote my name on the chalk board noting that there appeared to be 15 people ahead of me, 50 minutes after they opened. I had the paper. I read it cover to cover. While I sat there I was asked 3 different times, by three different barbers whether my name was on the board. It was/it had been since I arrived. I was advised about 4 times that it wouldnt be much longer, though I hadnt asked. I watched 3 barbers go to the board after they were due for other customers. First they called people who werent there; then they went out onto the sidewalk looking for the person called. Then it seemed to require conferring with other barbers how to next proceed as they studied the board and were confused. I watched one of the permanent staff approach the board and for several minutes, while someone seated in his chair sat waiting for his cut to start, erase and then attempt to reorganize names on the board (the barbers dont typically erase or cross out the names of those who have been served or are MIA). After 50 minutes I then watched someone who walked in and wrote his name on the board after me get served. Note, at least four barbers had acknowledged my presence and assured me my turn would occur shortly. After over a year of witnessing this disfunction I was irate, but just quietly jumped up and walked out. No one acknowledged Id just been ignored; no one acknowledged I was walking out after Id clearly been waiting after seven years of my being a customer who sat and patiently waited to be called upon and served. The DMV operates like NASA compared to this barber shop.
Great Shop. The team here is top notch.
Great barbershop, great atmosphere. Come for the expert hair-cutting, stay for the conversations.
Got a haircut here yesterday by Parker. Great atmosphere and cut
Ask for Nick. Great barber. Always good conversation holders.
Great barbers solid cuts
Always a good conversation its like maybarry with Floyd and oppey
Great guys great atmosphere and great haircuts
No greeting when entering or told how long the wait would be for a haircut. Also wasnt notified that there was a chalkboard to write my name on in order to be part of the waiting list. Overall terrible service.
Very friendly people. Timing is spot on
Solid, old school barber shop.
Best.
