The most complex project yet.Ive had John tackle several projects for me, but this was by far the most complicated. He installed a new head unit, laser / radar detection and front / rear cameras. Becuase my previous system had so many proprietary pieces, the new head unit was a bit of a dice roll as we didnt know how the new unit was going to work with the new components and the pre-exiting amp and speakers. John prepared me up front with several alt solutions as backup plans, but ultimately was able to make the primary plan work and deliver earlier than promised. I couldnt be happier. In life, there are many cases that you get what you pay for and this is the perfect example. Are Johns prices a little higher than others around, yes, but it is well worth it. I could not be happier with the tinting he did for my car. His attention to detail and desire to get it perfect are well worth the price. He also cuts his tint by hand which makes his application much more accurate since windows can be different even on the same type of car. Very professional and all around good guy. Cant recommend him enough.

My experience working with John on my window tint selection and car audio upgrade was first-rate. Hes a seasoned pro and my mind was at ease knowing how well he treats his customers and vehicles. The tint application was finely crafted and looks amazing. Also, John designed a new speaker system (and acoustic insulation solution) to fit my budget with results that exceeded my expectations. This shop does outstanding work and offers a great product! I had tint removal and installation of new ceramic tint. I had to have the old tint removed because of a failed safety inspection. John, the owner, takes the time to explain the difference between the products, show you around the shop, which is super clean, and he is very friendly. Great experience!

Spoke with John at Shades Sound and Security a week ago. I had a 2013 vehicle that failed the NC State inspection due to the tint being too dark... He took the time out to explain every option I had at length. Even opened up his busy schedule to fit my car in to work on. I have recommended their services to my friends, because the F-150 I bought had all of its audio, visual, and window tinting done at Shade Sound and Security over 5 years ago. All of it still is in perfect condition despite years of daily use. The JL door speakers installed in the doors still sound great; backup camera, remote start, alarm system, automatic steps, and more all are still in perfect working condition, and there are no rattles or unpleasant sounds. I only went back once about a year ago to have my automatic Amp step motor to be cleaned out (due to offloading, was caked with mud), and to have another siren installed on my Viper alarm system. Outstanding work and very clean, would trust them with a car 10x more expensive than my truck.

My 2012 Camaro ZL1 had failed inspection as the film I had on the windows had become darker and had developed a purple hue.I initially went to Shade Sound and Security as this was the only window tinting company open on Saturday. There I met the owner, John.We spoke about the options and he explained the level of timing that would pass for sure, even if inspectors test equipment was faulty and he shared important differences between film types with regards to rejecting heat and keeping the car interior cool.John then showed me his 911 to demonstrate the level of expertise my car would receive. He is a true artisan. He cuts his film to fit as opposed to using a plotter to cut to a spec in the book. I was impressed how close to the edges he had applied the film compared to the film I had in the car which I thought was pretty good, until I saw Johns work.I knew who was going to do the job and I knew I found the right professional.John provided a quote to remove the existing film and apply the new film which I thought was fair based on his expertise.I travel a bit and my schedule is always changing. I told John I probably could not drop the car during the week and a Saturday drop off would probably work best. Then he could have the car throughout the week and I would pick it up the next Saturday. He agreed and he told me the car would be kept inside his garage safe and sound until I picked it up.John loves cars and treats everyone like they are his babies. This car while not brand new is my baby.John texted me on Monday when the car was completed. I tried to work out picking it up but could not make it too his shop in time. He offered to come back to the shop after hours to let me get the car as he lives close by. But, I felt bad doing that to him. So we agreed on Saturday.When I came to pick up the car, John had parked it out front. I walked up and was immediately impressed. This was a night and day result versus what I had in the car.He came outside and explained the previous installer had not replaced four of the trim clips. John had found them in the bottom of the trim pieces and correctly installed three of them. The fourth one was missing and John made one in the shop to fit. Wow! I doubt other installers would do that.John is the real deal. I appreciate his service, expertise, educating me about the product and process and his final product.I’ll be back to John with other cars.He also installs security and sound systems and has a nice lobby / show room.If you are looking to have your windows tinted, I strongly recommend John and Shade Sound and Security.
