We have had such a great experience at CORE. It is a family-operated business with a kind and supportive atmosphere. Master Doug and his team have made my son feel right at home and challenged him with encouraging coaching. The cost and payment schedule are very reasonable and the class options make it easy to fit classes into our life.
Core Taekwondo is a incredible martial arts school. They focus on individual growth and self-improvements which has definitely boosted my daughter’s self esteem and motivation. Master Douglas and Master Shaun constantly reinforces respect, good behavior, self control and confidence in every members. My daughter enjoys the workout routines, poomsae and sparring. We always feel welcomed here and highly recommend this performance center.
Amazing community with even better professional instructors. You shouldnt go anywhere else if you have ever considered doing something like this. Its safe, energetic, youll leave class empowered.
If you are looking to learn Taekwondo, look no further. Core Taekwondo is the best!! We are so pleased with how much our daughters have learned here. It’s been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made for our girls.
Cannot recommend Core Taekwondo enough. My son has attended since age 3 and has worked all the way to a black belt. Our family adores all the staff.
I train here with my son 4 days a week for an year and it has been one of the best choices I made for 2 of us . The staff and masters have patience in training and motivating the students to do more . 👊🏾👍🏾.
CORE Taekwondo is incredible. My 10 year old son has been studying with Master Doug since he was 4 years old, and I can’t even begin to articulate the impact Master Doug has had on his life. If you value honor, hard work, discipline, and fellowship, then CORE will reinforce, support, and grow those values in your child. I highly recommend.
CORE Performance Center is simply the best Taekwondo school in the Triangle. Master Doug Townsend is a member of World Taekwondo, the organization that governs TKD in the Olympics. Master Doug himself is a former Olympic competitor who is well versed in full contact sparring (and self defense). All students, including my son, 12 (6 when he started), learn how to spar at a competitive level and defend themselves in a safe, fun and exciting environment. Family oriented, with an after school program, CORE Taekwondo is a great choice for any working parent looking to develop their childs discipline, confidence, social as well as self defense skills in a fun environment, while managing a challenging work schedule. I highly recommend CORE Taekwondo to anyone looking to learn Taekwondo!
I HIGHLY recommend Core Taekwondo. It’s family friendly, wonderful staff, and the best atmosphere! I have been training at Core Taekwondo for about 6 years now. I have no complaints about ANYTHING! The classes taught are very interactive, and beneficial. At Core Taekwondo we stress respect for yourself and others, discipline, confidence, etc. If your goal is to be a black belt, have better self confidence, and have the knowledge to protect yourself I 100% recommend signing up.
Our child has been going to Core for a little over a year. The teachers do an amazing job with the little lions. Weve enjoyed watching our child go so much we decided to take a few classes our self. Master Doug will make you work hard and make you sweat. They now have a fundamentals class Fridays and Saturdays for beginners which has been great. Overall its been a great experience.
Doug is great! I highly recommend CORE Taekwondo if you are looking for a place to learn!
My daughter has been going here for over a year and she loves it! The instructors are amazing with kids and you can tell they really care about them and strive to help them be their best. This kids learn and have fun at the same time. Great place!
Best place around. Can’t find better qualified instructors, great with kids. Been going here for 5+years. My kids love it they have learned respect, responsibility, confidence they strive to be better people and help others. There is not enough words or time to express how grateful I am for this place.
I have been training with Master Douglas for 5 years, and he has taught me a lot about responsibility and how to be a stand up guy. I’m a more nice and outgoing person now because of this taekwondo community. I feel sore after most workouts, but I get use to it. CORE is an amazing place!
Love this place so much, I had to write a second review. The community is something to be noted of. Everyone in this community are dedicated and caring, which in turn, creates a stronger bond between students and instructors. Perfect place for family and great exercise.
A great place to learn so much more than taekwondo—like confidence, respect, determination. My son has been going here for years and loves it! We couldn’t be happier with the instructors and fellow students. Overall a great place to learn and grow.
It’s been a month since my son joined and he is getting better with each visit .
A fantastic school with incredible Masters and instructors. They offer programs for adults and kids and support a very friendly and happy family environment. Ive done Martial Arts for almost 15 years now and have never found a more family oriented school that puts forth great values and teachings for children.
Core Tae Kwon Do Performance Center is a fantastic place! Our family of 4 Black Belts have known the instructors for nearly 10 years. The Head Master is a former Olympic Sparring Contender, and other Masters and Instructors are top notch! Students from 3 to 60+ years old learn from the best and we are all an extended family. I recommend CORE to anyone who is seeking the best Martial Arts experience in the area!
We absolutely love Core. My son has been going there since he was 5 years old and he is now 10 . He started from white belt and he is working on his third dan black belt. All of Masters and instructors are wonderful, friendly and yet very professional. I can’t say enough great things about them and the school. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place for your kids to do taekwando after school and/or weekends. There are classes for adults as well. Also, they offer Summer camp which again my son absolutely enjoys the program. He can’t wait to go back this year.
This experience here has been amazing and very beneficial to me if I ever want my kids to do taekwondo in the future this is the place I would pick!I LOVE IT HERE!
Good exercise for all ages. Fun and engaging after school program. Kids get a great workout and have lots of fun. Instructors are are positive and uplifting.
This school has been so great for my 6 year old son. The discipline and focus he has gained has helped him transition into Kindergarten this year. They also pick him up from school for after school care. I know he is in great hands and he really likes all his friends and instructors. They also do other activities outside of Taekwando like nerf wars to give parents a night out while the kids spend an evening playing with friends. I highly recommend Core!!!
This school is the best my daughter been going since she was 7 an shes 12 now she loves it. The staff are very nice, wonderful to all the kids.. Great school to go to CTPC tkd.
Core TKD Performance Center is the best. We’ve been with them for 5 years.Fun, positive environment. Excellent staff.
5 stars! Great instructors and school with a family atmosphere. It’s an extended family of friends who love Taekwondo.
I have gone and practiced here forever and Ive loved it! I cant think of a better place to go than here. I would definitely recommend giving this place a visit.
Master Kim not only is a practitioner of Taekwondo, but also a practitioner of Brazilian Jiujitsu, and teaches both at a very understanding level that feels personal to all and very effective! The atmosphere of the school is great, it is very family oriented and full of down to earth people. The school also has many talented black belts supporting Master Kim and provides excellent teaching services as effective as head instructor. I recommend this school for those that would love to learn a martial art, or would love to learn to defend themselves very effectively. More importantly I also recommend this school to those that want to be a Honey Badger, because Honey Badger dont care!
Owner kicked my kids out of school because he had a disagreement with me. Instead of being an adult and allowing my children to at least find another school he texted me not called but texted me to tell me they are not welcome at his school. My kids also train on the weekends so now they will be missing this as well. I’ve never had any establishment ban kids from their school (this is a first) . Horrible business sense. The issue arose because I used “Group chat ” to ask other parents if they would like to train with my son on our (parents) free time. Training was for cardio and boxing not taekwondo and my time and equipment was being provided for free. I confirmed immediately and removed myself from group chat so as not to cause a nuisance. I also mentioned to another parent that I was seeking another school to attend but did not withdraw my children from core. It got back to the owner that I had made statements about leaving and it was then that I was told not to bring my children back. My kids has no disciplinary actions ever taken against them and I as a parent never had any issues either. In fact I went above and beyond to help the school when we were out of town for a tournament by again volunteering my personal time for free to stand in as a “coach” Bc we had several kids competing at the same time. I Would not recommend especially if you want your child to learn the art of combat. Great family environment until you voice your opinion but they could stand to make a class for students who wish to learn to fight and aren’t concerned with wasting any class time that’s paid for on dodgeball. The kids he kicked out are age 10 and 12. My 10 year old was very distraught over the news. 3/2/19 update - 1 child quit Taekwondo all together and my 10 year old has found a new school and is doing great. I spoke with the owner of Core and had agreed to take down my reviews from Facebook and google in EXCHANGE for my son to be able to train on weekends again (yes in exchange, I had to agree to remove my honest reviews for my child to be able to participate again). I took down my Facebook review immediately but left this one up because I felt like my voice was being silenced in exchange for my child being able to train. All reviews are not going to be 5 stars and I have the right to freedom of speech without having to compromise my integrity to appease anyone. This is a true account of my personal experience. While this is sad my family does not feel as though our opinion or review should have to be removed in order to train. I may have possibly updated my review or even removed it until today when I was again texted about removing the review which seems to be the main focus and not my kids. It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided to continue to exercise my right to freedom of speech even if that means my 10 year old gets punished because his father exercised his right to freedom of speech and write an honest review containing my opinion as a US citizen. Google reviews and others are placed here for people to speak about how they feel, they are not placed here so that a business can request everyone leave 5 stars if they don’t feel they got 5 star treatment. I feel like I’ve been asked to trade my opinion for my sons training and I just can’t do that. 3/6/19 update it just gets better and better so I’ve officially heard from 3 parents now that a speech was given at class about “the people are volunteering their time etc etc so don’t go outside of the group “ and I know it is referring to me and again let me point out all I did was offer my time for free to show kids how to box and train cardio” this had absolutelyNothing to do with the training they give. Seems to me like this particular school wants to dictate what you can do with your children on your free time. Not cool. Quite frankly the amount of Unprofessionalism is becoming ridiculous. I’m not even quite sure it’s legal to kick kids out of class Bc you heard their parent was looking for a new school. Someone is always listening and it gets back to me.
Quality taekwondo for all ages, with commeraderie and music for the exercise
The instructors care about the students on a personal level, they teach discipline, self-defense, physical fitness and the traditional Korean Tae Kwon Do forms. The demo team is excellent and there are always fun events for the kids. All 4 of my children have attended here, now I do as well and I look forward to going to every class.
We have been going here for years, love it, its the best...
Master Kim and the Kim family make u feel as part of a genuine Tae Kwon Do family. The instruction is far superior than any other school in the triangle area. The Jujitsu call is paramount to become a complete martial artist. 95% of any street confrontation ends up on the ground, u can take it from there. U better b gr8 on the ground and thats where jujitsu swings into action. Jinho Martial Arts by far the best bang for ur buck....and itll save ur life one day......Love it...
Such a nice and professional place to learn taekwondo!
The exercise you get from both Master Kims Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are extreme. I am a professional Taekwondo player, and I use his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class as a cross-fit tool to get in shape for high level competitions. Master Kim also teaches traditional Taekwondo forms, breaking, and an innovative, practical self defense that applies to real life situations. They offer the best after school program that my sister is currently enrolled in; she made A B honor roll. I would recommend this to both beginner level children and adults who have an interest in martial arts, getting in shape, and/or discipline.
Best school in town. Jinho is an incredible teacher!
Great instructors! Great environment!
Best place around.
Excellent place for families, highly recommended!!
Great training.
GOOD JOB
