Totally satisfied with our moving experience! We moved cross-country and 1800 pack-rat made the experience easier than we could have imagined! The delivery and pick up times were exactly as promised and it was a seamless experience with good communication! From beginning to end, they sure delivered a great experience. The containers were clean and secure, the drivers were friendly, and professional. All our items were delivered the exact same way they were when we packed them. Nothing had shifted or moved! Guess i should have read the reviews before booking this worthless company. The one star reviews are all 100% spot on. Had a flawless order, schedule and pickup in Las Vegas on 6/16, that was the end of that story. Called to confirm delivery address on 6/24, they had no idea where my container was but promised to call back, never happened. 6/28 called to ask where its at, they still didnt know and another promise for a call back, never happened. Get a text on 6/30, its in transit. Still no calls or follow ups from them. 7/4 they invoice for the second half and send text, Great News, your scheduled for delivery 7/9, not so fast, come 7/9, no phone calls from them, and even after 4-5 calls from me, oh its scheduled, it should be there, never happened. Get another text Great News, your scheduled for delivery on 7/10 between 11am-3pm, not so fast, 3pm rolls around and no delivery, no phone call, after several more phone calls and actually one return call from them, still no answers on why theyve failed 2x now to meet a delivery commitment. No phone calls or follows on 7/11, sent email asking for escalation and get canned response Were super busy, it could take 24hrs to respond. Never happened, I call back on 7/12, oh wait, we have a response Our warehouse said they will not perform the delivery, needless to say, I was ecstatic with boundless joy by this, so when am I going to get my stuff, were working on it and will get back to you Never happened. Called back on 7/13 and asked for an escalation once again, not 10m later I get the auto response for to fill out a survey for their performance, gotta say, that went well. No call back, but I did get the canned response to the survey Were sorry we didnt meet your expectations, guess we missed the mark, you didnt miss the mark, you missed the entire planet......but wait it gets better, get another text that says Great News, your scheduled for delivery 7/22, WOW! not thats customer service, we missed our first two deliveries, so now were gonna make you wait another 10 days.......but wait it gets even better, a couple hours later get an email and an actual phone call Were sorry we cant deliver your container in the manner in which we quoted you, we need to break it open and hand stack it onto another truck, if thats not acceptable, we will have to schedule a later date.......would say Im looking forward to a phone call from a manager or maybe even the CEO on how greatly saddened they are for their abysmal performance, but like the other reviews, Ill be lucky to see a canned response at best.......

Two weeks in advance I reserved a 16-foot storage unit to be delivered to my address and planned the rest of my moving logistics accordingly. Yesterday, the day I booked it to arrive, there was no sign of it as of 4:30pm, so I called customer service for an update. After a 20-minute hold, the representative could only tell me was it could arrive as late as 11pm and the driver would call me an hour before hand. I waited by phone well past my bedtime only for it to never ring.This morning (Saturday) I still have no container in my driveway and zero explanation or courtesy call from 1800PR. I had to wait until 9:30 to call customer service back (when they open on weekends) and was on hold 15 minutes this time. The representative, though kind and understanding, was thoroughly unhelpful. They could not explain why it never arrived yesterday or when to expect it. All they did was say they would email the local operations and have them contact me. At this rate, Im not hopeful this will even happen today. So now Im scrambling to find alternatives, as we need to be out of our house within the week and I have movers lined up tomorrow.Moves are stressful enough--save yourself some stress and go with a different company. Ive never been more disappointed in a companys service--or complete and total lack thereof--in my life. If anyone sees this who can help my situation, my order number is Container1: 6254306.

We used 800 Pack Rat for our move from San Diego CA to Heber City UT. Due to the location of our move it was difficult to locate a company that could accommodate and deliver a container that didnt cost an arm and a leg. 800 Pack Rat delivered as promised and on time; both the initial delivery and delivery of the container. The sales lady that helped book our move did give us the scenario for timelines; which they stuck to. I did call and try to get the container delivered early and no return call, but as stated they did deliver the day it was due. Employees were nice same with drivers.

We ordered a pack rat to move out my widowed mother in law. We busted our backs packing it to make sure it was ready for pick up and when the day came for it to be picked up some random number called and we didn’t answer the call since my mother in law was closing on her house. WE HAD SCHEDULED THE PICK UP DATE, and they did not pick it up so now the pack rat is on someone else property and they said that they couldn’t pick it up for another 2-3 weeks and that defeats the purpose of setting up a pick up date. No Voicemail, no previous mention that we would be refused pick up if we didn’t answer a call on the day that we already confirmed the pick up for. This is a scam, no customer support, they said there is nothing they can do. They are crooks DO NOT use this service we were taken for a ride and it’s the last thing we need when dealing with the death of a close family member.

I should have read the reviews on Google. I order a 16 pod for my move today. I called yesterday to confirm. I hire helpers according to the recommendation of the agent. I am out of so much money I can not believe it. I called the customer service number and they told me that my pod will be delivered at 1:30am tomorrow morning. I asked to speak to a manager and the agent tried to explain that it was beyond their control. In the meanwhile, I have lost money on helpers etc. and to add insult to injury the agent hung up the phone when I was on hold. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Long distance experience has been terrible! Holding our belongings 6 weeks! They emailed and said they would pick up on June 24 and 26, I confirmed, said, sounds great, they failed to book it. Now I am not getting scheduled for delivery till July 29! I cant express the upset this caused! The new owners of the house had ourpack rat cubes in their driveway until July 9th. Keep looking for other options. They over book themselves, and are to busy to follow through on what they promise. Now, I will probably have to file claims against them for moldy belongings. A terrible experience....I wouldnt wish this on anyone

I booked 6 weeks in advance for delivery of 4 pods on two separate times. The first time it went reasonably well, but they had to switch out a unit at the last minute. The second time, not so good. Got a call at 9:15 pm on the day of delivery that they ran out out of storage units. Despite 4 calls on the next day, the customer service could only send e-mails. I know supply chain is really difficult now, but one would think a 6 week advance notice could be accommodated. Just beware. My order number was 2134121. I will not post my phone number in a public forum. I would be happy to speak with someone who has some authority.

We had the flawless experience that the five star reviews had with PackRat in the off season.We went with their service again, but this time in peak season which has turned out to be a huge mistake. We have had nothing but trouble with pick ups, billing and deliveries. We can see reading online that we are not alone.Their warehouses ignore reservations, seem to view them as suggestions. They just skip you as they call it and do not call you to tell you they have a problem or offer a solution. Just silence.The folks you can get for service assistance by phone are not able to help you. They have no ability to get information from the warehouses or to control what is going on there. All they can do is send the warehouses email which is undeniably ineffective. We were told that the warehouse managers are also drivers and they cant answer the phone while driving. Were supposed to believe that theyd read email?We spent well over 10 hours on the phone trying to get our containers picked up when we were skipped by their Denver area warehouse. Then we get pinged by billing while were in transit because they cant seem to find the credit card that was right there in their system nor properly process a payment. Now we get to our new home and we are now involved in trying to get the Portland area warehouse to deliver our last container. They skipped us yesterday. Weve called the phone lines since yesterday about 3pm until close, starting again at 5am PST this morning.It doesnt matter if the service folks on the phone lines are polite, they have no ability to actually fix problems. The warehouses ignore their attempts to get information as well. Weve spoken with supervisors repeatedly. They have no more ability than the front line folks to help you. They promise to call back but never do.Now were stuck for another day with no information on our container.Telling me that this is not what you want for your customers to experience and that you take our situations seriously feels just a bit... shall we say politely ludicrous? to people who are out here sleeping on the floor without our belongings. You actually have to DO something to fix the problems youve created. I have received enough apologies to last me a lifetime and none of it has gotten me our container delivery.Folks... its always nice to see a business reply but asking for my personal information in a public forum is not something designed to get a response, no one should ever do that. You could easily find me in your records should you actually have a real interest in researching OR you could message me privately. I provided plenty of information above about the situation. Its finally over now. The Portland warehouse while late with deliveries finally started calling us and at least explaining/offering what they could do. Expecting your warehouse staff to both drive/deliver AND make calls/respond to your phone line is crazy. Id start there. The warehouses clearly need support staff.

GREAT moving company - Excellent pricing for two containers for our move from CT to Florida. The drivers were amazing - able to place these huge containers in very small spaces in our driveway. Scheduling was perfect - they were willing to be flexible about our dates for drop-off and pick-up as we requested an earlier pick up and they were most accommodating. Drivers were professional and courteous - willing to make any changes we might want. Showed us how to open and lock the containers and gave us packing tips on how to fill them. Really the best moving experience ever - and we have moved a lot. I would never go back to a so-called full-service moving van company. This was so much better.

Every part of me regrets using this company. Worst experience ever. Do more research before you book this company. My whole apartment is being held in West Palm Beach, Florida. I am in Portland Oregon. Booked container back in April 2021 for a June move. Pod dropped off 6/25, picked up 6/29. RatPack then canceled my order and attempted to let me know with ONE UNSUCCESSFULL phone call, then they canceled the order the next day on 6/30. I left Florida on 7/1 so they had enough time to reach me. No email, or another attempt at another call. They have both my numbers and 2 emails on file. Talked to management who was unbelievably unhelpful. I asked to speak to someone else hire up and was told five times they would call me back. Eight days later no call back. However, they hit me with a $250 cancelation fee, $261 rental fee, and random $2,912. They wont answer their phones for two hours. I cant talk to a manager. I asked them what they could do to insure their customers confidence in them and to make me feel safe giving them more money, Steven said he could not do much but ensure my stuff got there. My stuff was suppose to arrive 7/29/2021. Its now been almost two weeks that I noticed my order was canceled and me trying to get my possessions moving with no avail. They are taking money from my account and not providing a service. Im still trying to reach management. Their mistake is costing me money. Ive had to buy new equipment for school, work, and living. No call, no show to pick up my empty units. I have called every day for a week and I cannot get an answer as to when my empty units will be picked up. I’ve been told next available is 3 weeks away. This is unacceptable. When are these units considered abandoned? I should sell them! When can I start charging Pack Rat rent for storing them in my driveway with no plan to pick them up?

Update: Finally got those 2 pods delivered last week. They refund the expedite fee, but they still charged us for 2 locks which they didnt provide us at all. The lady on call asked us to provide receipt that we dint get the lock in order to refund the lock rental fee, but how can I get that since they kept changing the order without notifications? I only have the original receipt which included original informations that they SHOULD provide us 2 locks which actually they didnt. Wont use this company again in the future.If I had the choice, I will give 0 star to this company. We are moving from NC to CA, and paid total $8682(including expedite fee $700) to PACK RAT to ship containers. The original date on the order to drop off the container was July 5th, but they didnt show up or contact me at all. I called multiple times and finally they told me they dont have any containers in stock. They finally dropped off the container on July 7th after calling them a dozen of times. After that they changed everything again without any notifications! The original deliver date in CA was July 21st, and I called them on that morning, they still told me its on schedule, but in the afternoon I called again, they told me these 2 containers were still in NC and they modified the deliver date to July 26 without any notifications! Then we wait until July 26 and called them again. They AGAIN changed the order date and told me those 2 containers are still in NC. Every time I called, they always said they will reach out to the facility and give me a call back. But they never do the follow up! I called them again July 27, they still cannot get a response from the facility and get me an updated ETA! They even told me nobody (even supervisor or upper level) can do anything about this! I told them I will give my review on BBB/google/yelp. But they DONT CARE ALL ALL!! AVOID THIS COMPANY! Go to BBB to see how many similar complaints on this company. I CALLED AGAIN AND HAD TO WAIT 1 HR TO TALK TO SOMEONE. THAY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK AND CALL ME BACK.......NEVER GOT A CALL. I CALLED AGAIN ON 7/25/2021 AND THE WAS TOLD THEY WOULD EMAIL THE MANAGER TO CANTACT ME ASAP! SO I WAITED A DAY TO SEE IF THEY WOULD CALL AND WHAT A SUPRISE THEY DIDNT CALL. My family moved from out of state and were expecting the delivery of our pod on June 9. After 2 representatives insisted that our pod would be delivered as expected, a supervisor finally told us at 4 PM that day that our pod had been on a vehicle that had broken down and never reached the destination facility. No one knows where our pod is or where it has been stored. It took them two days to allegedly track the pod, but it still seems that no one knows what truck our pod actually is on.Our pod is now possibly going to arrive on Tuesday, nearly a week after our original delivery date. Again, they still dont know for certain if it will be delivered on Tuesday. So, I cant schedule movers or know when I can expect to see any of property again or know whether its in good condition.Each time we call Pack Rat, we are assured that someone will reach out to us with any new information or updates. That has never happened once in the three days that weve been dealing with this. Emails go unanswered, as well.At every turn, I have been treated like I am being unreasonable and impatient for expecting Pack Rat to deliver our pod to us. We have been without our personal property for over 18 days and entrusted our entire worldly possessions to Pack Rat. An out of state move is stressful enough, but Pack Rat has been the most stressful piece of the entire process.I wont post our order number because I can see in another review that someone proactively provided that information and the owner still responded with the request to provide an order number - this seems to be a generic response to make it look like they respond to complaints.Dont use Pack Rat. We were penny wise and pound foolish.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! They Dropped the container off on time with no issue. In less than a week later we ask them to pick it up and they are saying it’s going to take THREE WEEKS for them to come and pick it up!!! On June 1 I called and booked a container to be delivered to our home to store furniture while renovating. The man taking the order said they were booked but with special upper level permission could squeeze us in on the 4th. I waited on the fourth for their delivery call and by 3:45 pm figured I would call and see what happened. After numerous tries I finally got a lady who said she would contact Raleigh and see what was up and call me back. By 4:40, no return call so we called again. After numerous tries, we finally got someone who put us on hold and called the Raleigh office. They told us they had no more units, and someone would call us on Monday to let us know IF they could get one. There was no direct number to call the local office. We spoke to the supervisor who said she could schedule us for the 16th. Our contractors are starting on the 14th. All they kept saying was “I apologize” like that is supposed to help. NO explanation as to why they did not call sooner to let us know they could not accommodate us, so I could keep looking elsewhere. I cancelled, and now am in a bind to get another booked in time. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!

These guys are the BOMB! From start to finish, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was on point and worked seamlessly together. From initial call, to delivery, pick up, delivery to new house, to pick up of the PODS was smooth. Call backs were almost immediate. They have everyone beat on price and the drivers were so friendly and took the time to chat with me and answer all my questions. They took care of all the requests I had for where to put the PODS, which doors facing where, where to put each POD, with no mistakes. Highly recommend!

Pack-Rat picked up pod on 12.8.2020 in CT and was going to deliver to storage in Wake Forest, NC. On 12.12.2020, we contacted them to confirm the pod was en-route and to schedule the final delivery (from storage in NC to new home). The rep stated the pod was en route to NC and scheduled 12.29.2020 as our delivery day. We received an email on 12.27.2020 and called Pack-Rat again to find out why we received the email, confirmed that the pod was still en-route to NC and would arrive at our home on 12.29.2020. This morning (12.29.2020) we called to find out the time of the delivery to our home and were told they could not find our pod and someone would call us back. We received a call back stating our pod had never been en-route to begin with and was sitting in a storage facility back in CT. Absolutely unacceptable. Pod now should arrive Jan 6th I have 0 faith!

We used 1-800-Pack-Rat for a long distance move and to store our furnishings for a couple of months. When we received one of the units at our new home, we found the unit had been damaged along the way leaving cracked caulking and mold all over the unit. The mold was on our personal belongings and water damage ruined several pieces of furniture and our mattress. We immediately called the company and were sent claim forms to return within 30 days, which we did along with receipts and photos of everything. We showed the manager who came to remove the unit from our property and he told us not to worry because his company would take care of it. 6 months later the company offered us just over $800 to remedy almost $5K in damaged property and furnishings! The worst part, aside from waiting almost 6 months for a slap in the face, is that the company refused to share the estimate which is the basis for their offer, along with the so-called reports they had on the unit. Contact me if you would like to read the entire email communication chain with their claims office which shows how this company treated us. In my opinion, this company does not stand behind its advertising or its promises. Zoom in on the photo to see all the mold and damage on the ceiling of the unit, probably from them stacking them at their warehouse. They deny that this damage took place. A picture says a thousand words.

Worst customer service!! They assure you that when they take your credit card to reserve you can still cancel at any time. So wrong! You get straight through tto someone to make a reservation....but get sent into a never ending hold loop and eventually get disconnected to cancel. We had to cancel our credit card!

Set up zippy containers almost 2 mos. in advance, was told by zippy movers would be here betwern 8am-noon, no one has showef up, no one has called. I try calling, no one can help, it feels like a circus, hung up on after waiting 15-20 mins. on hold, given numbers to call, no one answers or returns calls, left doesnt know what right is doing, but they dont hesitate to take your money, DO NOT USE, more a headache than what theyre worth, still no container!!! I bet they dont show up, I shouldve went with someone else !!!!

After reading some of the online reviews, I was a bit concerned about renting from 1-800-PACK-RAT. However, 1-800-PACK-RAT matched the quote from PODS and had the added advantage of the extra weight limits plus the barn style doors on the containers!!!My entire experience from booking, payment, scheduling to the final pick-up was very easy. All the people from the phone representatives to the drivers were very polite and courteous!I had two issues though ...1. Container Size: 1-800-PACK-RAT does not offer smaller containers. Id highly recommend they look into the 8 foot containers in addition to the 16 foot ones. Construction wise, it is detachable sheet metal, with the studs located every two feet and easy to engineer a smaller container, even a 4 feet one if needed!In hind sight, I would have preferred two 8 foot containers over one 16 foot container. The 8 foot container can be easier to load/unload and can be easily placed on smaller drive ways or parking spaces for people living in town-houses and apartment complexes. I have some colleagues who would not be able to even consider PackRat due to the 16 footer limitation.2. Breakage: A few of my items were damaged including a bed made of solid wood. I had hired professional help from Hire-A-Helper, to load and unload the actual container after I boxed up the items myself. As expected, both PackRat and Hire-A-Helper essentially pointed to each other when I filed the damage claim. Hire-A-Helper claimed they are not responsible for items breaking during normal-shifting and PackRat claimed the items were not loaded properly and not responsible for any breakage during normal-shifting. Both also suggested I should have bought their additional insurance!I dont think I need to change my overall rating of PackRat in light of the two issues above. The first is a sizing suggestion. The second was only with the claims department. The other service personnel who provided great service throughout my move need not be underrated.I will certainly recommend 1-800-PACK-RAT for people who are considering 16 foot containers and caution them to consider buying additional insurance if transporting items that may be expensive to replace. The insurance would apply for any container company though!

Very happy with my experience with PackRat. First, our sales rep (Marcy?) very thoroughly understood our needs for the move. She was spot-on with her estimate of how many containers we would need and she explained their process very clearly. Right on schedule, the containers were delivered, they were in very good condition and locked securely. On the other side of the country, they were delivered to us as scheduled and we found they had been treated with care, no damage to any contents. This is a great way to move, you are very flexible because PackRat can store any containers for you until you need them and is very good at meeting their commitments.

Loved the convenience of packing and loading my own stuff BUT............ Their customer service is horrible. Their billing department is horrible. I spent 1 week leaving messages to get my bill straightened out and finally got a call back and was told that I would only be charged what I was quoted.The day after the container was picked up I saw a $272.00 charge on my card - Had already paid 80% of my quoted amount in full and now have been overcharged over $200 and have sent 4 emails, have left 3 voicemails to get my money back and cant get anyone to fix their mistake.Will not use them again, dont care how good their pricing is

I have got a packrat every time I have moved and never had a bad experience until this last one. They delivered a packrat to me and the following week I called to schedule a delivery date to my new house it was two weeks past the date I needed it moved. I told packrat that it couldn’t be there that long or the owner was going to charge me. He than told me to rent a Penske and move it myself. Well Penske does not allow that if you don’t have the proper insurance. I then had to pay someone to unload it and on top still rent a Penske to move my stuff. I asked to speak to a manger and for corporates number and still no one has returned my calls. To make matters worse the packrat is still sitting at the owners property who is charging me by the day. I would never use this place again they never told me that if I didn’t request a date early enough I wouldn’t get it. In the past this was never a problem. They were easy and convenient but now this has been the worst experience ever.

My mom had ordered two pods through 1-800 Pack Rat to move across states. The pods were delivered to the house we are moving out of when they said they would be which was great. However, pick up day comes and I was blindsided when i found out the pods would not be picked up to be delivered to the new house on the day the company said it would be. Nobody from the company called to tell us that the pick up would be late and subsequently the delivery to the new house as well. We had to call their customer service line 4 times throughout the day before they even informed us that the pods would not be getting picked up on time. One of the first calls concluded with me being told the employees to pick up the pods would be in contact with us to give an ETA. A few hours later and still no phone call from them. They did not give us a timeframe for when the pods will be picked up and at this point we realized it just wasnt going to happen on the day we planned for it to happen. This created a whole new set of financially straining problems. We called again to figure out when they will actually show up to pick up the pods and the last service representative we talked to was incredibly unhelpful and their supervisor, Juanita, was rude and unprofessional and actually yelled on the phone while blaming the consumer (us) for the pods not being picked up and for our moving schedule to need to be completely rearranged. This incident with Juanita baffled me. When asked to speak with her supervisor, she refused and continued to be unprofessional and just blatantly rude. This company has a combined lack of punctuality, communication, and professionalism. They also lack the ability to hold their employees accountable for the manner in which they treat consumers
