Best thing I ever did for my son was put him in this class he loves it and the instructors very well organized and professional

Words cannot express how fortunate my son and I are that we walked into Applied Martial Arts Academy six plus years ago. Master Spence and his family truly exemplify the core values that I was looking for in a martial arts academy for my then 7 year old son. We visited several other martial art schools around the Virginia Beach area and this was the only school where I watched students advance NOT because they attended classes and paid for them but because they demonstrated the skills that were actually needed for promotional advancement with their discipline. My son did not just get handed a white belt because it came with the uniform, he had to EARN it. Fast forward to today, my son has learned to focus more, speak up for himself and most importantly he has gained a sense of self pride with the promotions that he has earned through his hard work and dedication.

We have been attending for about 2 years with one daughter and our second daughter since the beginning of the year. They LOVE their time here. The environment is fun, safe and challenging all in one place. Definitely check it out!!!

Applied Martial Arts Academy has quickly become a home away from home for my son and I. Master Spence is a wealth of knowledge, he cares deeply for his students and the atmosphere is 100% family oriented! Master Spence does not look at his students as dollar signs, he wants you to learn just as bad as YOU should want to learn! I would and do recommend AMAA to anyone looking to take on the adventure of learning a martial art!

I had the pleasure of attending a Firearm Retention and Defense class today with Master Spence. I learned much information that I can apply in critical situations. Master Spence took the time to explain everything in detail and answer any questions as needed. I would definitely attend any other classes offered in the future.

We are super pleased! My 6 and 7 year old girls are learning discipline, respect and self defense! Instructors are really great teachers! The cost is very affordable as well. I love the mediation and Christ centered pray! Highly recommend them!

Wonderful family

I have been training at Applied Martial Arts Academy (AMAA) in Escrima for about 10 months, it is great! AMAA is one of the few schools that pressure tests its Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) techniques with full contact sparring/competition. I know Master Spences other programs are great too, but if you are interested in FMA, Applied Martial Arts Academy is the place!
