We did a 4 hour near shore charter on a Friday (6/26). The captain and first mate were very nice and accommodating. The majority of our interactions were with the first mate- he was a great guy! Very helpful, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor! I highly recommend this charter boat and staff. This was my 7th charter fishing trip and was definitely one of the best. I have been on some boats where the crew have the “mouth of a sailor” and it made me cautious about taking my kids out but I took my son on this trip and this crew was very respectful with him on board. Again, I highly recommend Big Bull and hope to fish with them again next year!

We were on the beach in Nags Head during the 4th of July Holiday Week enjoying the water with our children when Big Bull, under the direction of Captain Gary Bullman very casually came trolling within 20 yards of the beach with his lines out. This sort of thing obviously attracts sharks and other big fish. Like most beach goers, we are concerned about shark attacks as they are on the rise. Besides, our kids were swimming in the water and coming that close to swimmers is a major safety concern. We waved to Captain Bullman and motioned for him to steer his vessel into deeper waters. What did he do? He gave us the middle finger salute and kept going, and then later trolled back again to prove his point. This sort of behavior is classless and completely inappropriate.Captain Bullman, you are a disgrace and clearly not an expert fisherman. You have an entire ocean to catch fish for your clients. Do us all a favor and stay away from the beaches.
