Having had my laptop diagnosed with burned out hard drive, I was immediately attracted to one of their rebuilt laptops—-a Lenovo vs buying/ ordering a new computer. Overnight, he transferred all my data to new machine, enabling me to participate in scheduled Zoom session. They are a friendly and most professional organization. Giving to this shop 3 stars because i was told that they will not do any repair before contacting me since i dropped off my pc only for diagnostic and paid in advance for it…They never called me or emailed me so i decided to give them a call to find out that they actually did some small cable adjustments on my pc but didn’t fix the main issue i went there for and then charged me 99$ for labor on top of the diagnostic which was 38$.

I dropped my laptop and took it to Best Buy first, but they wanted $100.00 just to look at it and have it diagnosed and they were going to send it out to get diagnosed.I decided to go to Virgils and I am so happy that I did, only $38.00 to diagnose and did not have to send my laptop out, he diagnosed it himself and did the work at an Excellent Price. He charged me for refurbished parts but used NEW PARTS!!!.. Very honest!

After comparing several local shops reviews and word of mouth recommendations, I reached out to Virgil Computers. They were reasonably priced and delivered fast, thorough service.What I really appreciated was their crystal clear breakdown of the necessary services based on my machines specs -- not just a blanket you need to upgrade xyz up sell. They made me feel comfortable and didnt try to use terms that would go over my head to pressure a sale. Because of that, theyll be my first stop for future purchases, upgrades, and repairs.It’s now six months later and my machine is still running like a dream. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

Several months after they replaced the PSU on my desktop, it started randomly shutting down, until it reached the point where it didn’t even finish booting up. They took it back and didn’t charge a diagnostic fee, found a broken CPU heatsink leg, and replaced it...all at no charge. Great customer service and great work that they stand behind!

I have a business computer with sensitive information so I don’t let just anybody work on it. I was getting the famous blue screen of death and it was a tedious, tedious repair. Tom was very patient when I was losing my mind, compassionate, professional and calm. He stuck with it until the problem had been completely resolved. Very reasonably priced, prompt service, most professional.

Saved the day after our first computer build didn’t go as planned. They were on point with their turn around time, price was more than fair for the work they did and they went above and beyond to ensure things were functioning properly before sending it home. Even installed driver updates and RGB controls we didn’t expect them to. Showed us computer functioning at pick up and did a very professional job with cable management. We will definitely be back for any repair needs in the future!

I visit this place to find out information about transferring data from one SD card to another... this guy just looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe because he wasnt making any money off of me by simply answering my questions, he didnt even want to bother with me... who knows🤔

I fried my laptop with a spilled drink so transferring programs and data to the new one, which I had bought elsewhere, was not a routine matter. Nevertheless, Tom was able to do the job at a reasonable price and cheerfully tolerated some follow up tutelage to get me going in full. Equally important, he made the charges and scheduling clear from the start AND met or bettered all deadlines. Much better experience than I have had elsewhere.

Fast turnaround over Christmas. Sams service and honesty saved me alot of money. Bad motherboard and CPU on my 7 year old laptop and not cost effective to repair. Not a good experience!! I called them today becase I needed a charging cord for my Toshiba laptop. After talking to Tom, he told me that they had no new ones but had used ones starting at $29. I told him that I would be there shortly. I live 4 miles away. I left right away. When I got there Tom wasnt there and after informing the guy working there of our conversation, he could not find any for my computer. He then called Tom. Once he got off the phone he informed me that they only had universal chargers and it would be $39. At the least, I should have been sold it for the price quoted. NOT GOOD BUSINESS! I informed him as such and he just shrugged his shoulders. This was a simple straight forward request that I had. TRUST LOST! Glad that I didnt invest money for a repair. Who knows what the bill would have been. Be aware!!

Great place to buy or have your computer repaired. They built a desktop computer for my wife 7 years ago and help me select and order my 17” laptop HP Envy computer 2 years ago. I recently had a problem trying to disable my touchpad….I prefer a mouse. When Sam and I were unable to resolve the issue over the phone I took the laptop down to Virgil’s where Sam discovered the absence of a proper driver for the touchpad. I have always found Virgil Computer people to be very generous with their knowledge and eager to assist the computer community. Virgil Computers is and will continue to be my go to place for all computer related services.

Tom at Virgil Computers diagnosed the problem at our home the same day that we called, recommended and delivered a new replacement within 2 business days, and devoted nearly 2 hours to familiarize us with Windows 10 and its applications...all at VERY reasonable expense. Dropped off a Toshiba External Drive (1.5tb), was unable to access any files. Was told it would be a $30 bench cost and then $129 to transfer data. They kept the drive for about 1 week and we told that the drive was corrupted and I would have to sent to a recovery location to b retrieve any files. After picking up and paying $30 I asked my neighbor (works for Fujitsu) to take a look and in a matter of hours, he was able to unlock the drive. Told me it was the permissions. I feel that Virgils is only trying to boost its relationship with the recovery company and not customer satisfaction. I would never recommend Virgils to anyone. 18 years of service, would expect a better experience.

I took my iPad mini to them to get it repaired after I got screwed on the last repair. When I sent in the information I received a called shortly after I sent it. I was told it would cost 178 to repair it and when I brought it in, I was quoted the exact same price. A couple days later I got a call that it was finished and I could pick it up. It works just like when I first bought it. I wasnt in the area when he called and he offered to stay late so I could get my iPad back. I have used Virgil Computers in the past when I was shorthanded at my job, they have provided one-on-one Tech support ad software that allowed me to update and trouble all 200 of my work computers. In the end my computers labs were running smoothly and without issues.

Thomas=da man! Great service, knownledge, and friendly personality. He provided a price to disconnect and reconnect my stero, computers, and multiple TVs while contractors were installing new flooring. During the reconnect, my Cox Cable modem failed; he trouble shooted the problem with the Cox tech over the phone, which took a bit of time; yet, he didnt increase his initial charge. This is the second time I sought Virgils services, and will continue to use them in the future.

I brought a pc in over the weekend that i had just built because I kept getting blue screens of death. I described my problem to the tech when I dropped it off and he said they could figure it out. I get a call Monday afternoon that my computer is just fine and I am getting blue screens from software issue on my pc. I take the computer home and reinstall my system and was real cautious about what drivers I installed. Needless to say the blue screens persisted. After more troubleshooting I found the problem. i had a bad pci port on my motherboard. I wish I didnt waste $50 on their diagnostics to get a bad answer from them. I will not be back there again.I am adding to this post since I received a very nice call from the owner about it. Although I didnt get my system properly diagnosed as stated above, he did try to make it right by offering me a credit on future services. Although I will most likely never use this credit since I do most pc work myself it was a nice offer from him. As others have stated in other reviews they seem to have a hard time on diagnosis of high end machines which is what I have. I know my problem was difficult to find and Im not going to hold it against them for that. Their prices seem very fair for their services and Im sure that they will do their best to make you happy. Thank you for contacting me about my review. It really shows that you care for your customers.

As for some, they have a great way of talking to you, making you think they know what theyre talking about. My husband was deployed over seas and his very expensive gaming rigs power supply was broke. (Laptop) One of the best thats around in my opinion and his is the MSI. I had to go there twice because it was not soldered correctly. We would have done it ourselves if we had the equipment. But alas this is not why I came here to write a stupid review. We opened it again because the power supply is broke and we found out that a bunch of screws were missing. And we are missing an 8Gb stick of RAM. There was an 8Gb and a 4Gb and all we have is the 4Gb. Dont trust these people. They take your money and they have fun with your parts. Stupid to think I wont find a way to get these parts back.
