This was so much fun!! 2 hours and an amazing time for $45 per person!! Not to shabby! We were able to paddle to a nature park...saw all kinds of wild life! We ended up a half-hour over and they didnt charge us for any extra time which is always amazing... Easy in and easy out of the kayaks. Beautiful houses to view and several different paths you can take. A little tricky to find but my GPS took me right there you just have to trust it lol....it will wind you thru a complex type setting just keep going!! Have fun...we sure did!!

What a fantastic day! Took our two youngest (8 & 11) for a day out in the water. Rented 2 paddle boards and a double Kayak. We were running late so called to let them know, and they were so gracious. Had our gear ready to go when we arrived and gave us a full safety briefing, as well as tips on where to stop, where to avoid, and helped us time our trip. Very knowledgeable and easy going. We had so much fun and Tula helped to make it such an easy and relaxed morning on the water. Will definitely be returning with all 3 kids.

What a blast my husband and I had at Tula! Weve done SUP tours in Montana, Maryland and OBX but this VB shop is a favorite and one we stop at whenever were in town. They have a good fleet of boards and helpful staff to get you out on the water. If youre newer to paddling, the owner gives you lots of great tips as well. Weve seen some cool wildlife, especially birds. I wish we lived closer to VB so we could paddle with Tula more often.

Super friendly staff that were very accommodating. The view along the paddle is nothing short of amazing ! Although a little more traffic than what Im used to there are plenty of opportunities to get off and venture through the neighborhood canals.

A majority of the employees we interacted with at Tula were very nice, but one girl in particular was not very welcoming. The location is also not very nice -- would not recommend for a kayak tour. Overall, I have to say, we returned our kayaks 40 minutes late and were not charged a late fee, so we are really appreciative of the staff for having been so cooperative. But unfortunately we did not have the best experience. :(

Had a great time! Easy to book and check in. Close parking to water. Staff was friendly and helpful with instructions before getting in kayak. We went on July 4th and lots of boats were out so that was the only issue, staying out of the way and not having time to just float as we were sharing a travelway with a parade of boats and had to stay on the side.

If you vacation to VA BEACH: PLEASE READMy wife and I visited Virginia Beach for vacation recently. We were excited to book with Tula for kayaking. The prices were a bit higher than we expected; but nonetheless, my family and I were excited for the experience. I talked with a young lady on the phone earlier today to advise we had an issue with a previous tour we booked (due to possible rain/storm). The tour was delayed by an hour, causing us to be unable to kayak at allotted time. The situation was unfortunately, out of our control. The young lady stated she would speak with the manager in regards to refunding and return call in 10 mins. We never received a call as promised (very unprofessional). The young lady initially answered the phone as if it were a personal cell phone. I had to double check I was calling a business. Very unprofessional. We had to return the call ourselves and spoke with a younger gentleman (Colin). He was very nice and professional, but stated the manager was strict and probably not going to refund. He even was nice and went over other options available. We had to turn down because today is our last day. Colin seems to know a lot more than the young lady did (as the manager has yet to return our call). Very disappointed in not refunding or reaching out to the customer in a prompt manner, regarding situations out of customers control. The weather is unpredictable, and we have no way to know when a booked event will be cancelled. With Tula located in a tourist spot, you would think they would be more professional and understanding (weather can affect safety of customer). Due to we are not from VA Beach area, it was imperative to resolve the issue before leaving. Unfortunately, doesnt seem we will be able to. If you are on vacation, DO NOT book with Tula!! If something occurs with weather or any other booked event or emergency, you will lose your money. As a tourist spot for vacationers, its a way to scam good customers. Our next vacation to VA BEACH, we will NOT book with Tula. Friends and family wont either. There are other businesses who are more customer friendly and understanding, instead of looking for free money. A good business should want the customer to have a good experience, not lose money. Very disappointed!Update: Colin states manager would be giving us a call in 5-10 mins. That was over an hour ago.

As a first time kayaker this was an amazing experience. Amazing friendly staff and a great channel to kayak down. Not a lot of boats come through the channel and the current is not difficult to paddle through. They gave us a small lesson before we were shipped into the water. When done, they have a station to hose off sand and to my surprise there was free merch: a water bottle with a gator inside. I do not know if they do that everytime but it was a nice touch to the experience. They want people to have the best experience so they were texting us updates about the weather and said we would be able to make it before the rain but they already called other people about weather messing up their appointments, it just showed me that they really care about their customers and their customers time. Would 100% come back. Plus surf riders is right next door for a good end of an adventure meal.

They were fantastic! They were able to extend our time when we were running a little late to our reservation. We used the kayaks on site and the scenery was beautiful!

They were helpful and accommodating, even though we were late for our reservation. They do not have a ton of parking, but are understanding that it takes awhile to park! Would definitely recommend and will be going again.

We had a great time on the Downstream Paddle Tour! Our guide, Annie, led us on a leisurely paddle down Long Creek. She even had snacks and bottled water for us along the way! The water was calm, and the scenery was beautiful. We saw a few Ospreys and other birds. We landed on a sand bar at First Landing State Park, where we boarded a pontoon boat for a relaxing ride back.

Highly recommend Tula Paddle Sports!! They were very easy to work with and flexible! I miss read the location and thought we could pick up on our way between planned events! When I realized the error I called and they were able to change it to delivery to us! The website was very easy to navigate and the communication on the phone was awesome! We will rent from them again for sure!

Had a blast with our guides while stand up paddle boarding!! Highly recommend them. They were so friendly and we had a blast talking with them. My fiancee has never tried it and was easily taught how to stand up paddleboard by the instructors. After we took a break at one of the beaches, our guide gave the option for us to hangout longer or to go back with her. We decided to stay and meet her back which was very nice!

We had a fantastic time kayaking. We appreciated the Covid precautions in place. We signed up and paid online. When we arrived we were directed to our kayaks from a socially distanced staff member in mask. I observed life jackets and oars being sanitized by a friendly staff member, also wearing a mask, as well as kayaks on the beach being cleaned by a staff member in mask. If you are tired of being stuck in the house but worried about corona virus, this is a great experience. I felt safe in and out of the water. The kayaks were very stable and the water was calm. We can’t wait to go again!!

I went on a tour with an instructor named abby who was condescending, rude, and overall unprofessional. As long as that woman is there i will not be visiting again.

My boyfriend and I rented two single kayaks for 2 hours and it was super fun! The staff was friendly and Sam helped us with a quick refresher since we’ve been kayaking before but hadn’t been in quite some time. The location where you kayak is gorgeous with beautiful views. Stopped by to discuss process for drop off and pic up for 2 SUPs. Easy order online. Dropped off 2 boards on time. both in great shape. had a blast. arrived next morning to pick up. called just before drop off and pick up. could not have been easier.

Easy access to the point and to water (from sandy beach). Friendly team, no problems with the whole process, all online. Equipment of medium class. You start in Long Creek and swim to First Landing Park. On the way enjoying houses and boats and after 30 mins you reach on the left side the park’s coast line, herons, ospreys, other swimmers ... beautiful scenery. After next 20 min you get to the Broad Bay. One of the best area for calm water recreation.

This was the perfect escape from quarantine! Rented two single kayaks for a 2 hour paddle. Reservation and waiver process were all electronic so we just gave our names upon arrival and they had everything ready!! The staff was super personable and shared some cool spots to check out along the way! Cant wait to go back!!

I love this place! I found them just from googling around and I can’t get enough of going now. The girls who teach you how to kayak are so nice and patient, actually all the staff are. They are very understanding and patient which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I plan on getting a membership and only going here for kayaking.

We did the 2 hour long Creek tour for our anniversary and it was definitely a day we will remember! The staff was extremely friendly and very entertaining. We learned some interesting things along the way and got to see some beautiful scenery. We will definitely be back again when we are in the area! Highly recommend!

My friend and I had an awesome time here! Staff was very friendly and got us in the water with no delay. They even took care of my foot when I cut it on an oyster shell (watch out for those). The staff warned me, but this one was hiding in some seaweed. Will definitely be back here sometime.

Employees were great and helpful - I was not crazy about the launch area - this is not the fault of Tula in any way - essentially our entire paddle was through a neighborhood - we rented paddle-boards only for an hour, so granted more time would have gotten us more distance and maybe better sights - but we were both new to paddle-boards so started slow - the water we were on was like warm pickle juice - :-)

My friends rented from Tulas a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. I was able to launch my personal paddleboard from their location since my friends were renting at the time. Fast forward a couple weeks and I realize my friend had turned in my paddle when we left! They were so kind about it. The staff took the time to help me look for it, while juggling the other customers there. We ended up finding it and I am so thankful! I will recommend you to anyone! Thank you Tulas!

Tula was great! My boyfriend and I rented paddle boards through them went out for an hour. The guy that set us up was super friendly and helpful. It was a cute little place by the water, simple rental process and we had an awesome time out on the water we’ll definitely go again!

Great place to start with lessons provided. Annie and Trad were very patient with all the folks who were enrolled for the stand up paddle board session. The Long Creek area is an ideal spot with the minimal boat traffic that may make some nervous. I would recommend and will definitely be back to Tula Adventure Sports for another round.

Friendly staff, reservations online were a snap, and the customer service when we arrived was great! Tried out the inflatable SUP and was not disappointed!

We did a paddle board tour and it was awesome. Our tour guides were very personable and friendly and took very good care of us. On the way home on the pontoon boat we got a chance to see some dolphins. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested to try paddle boarding.

Although the paddleboarding was fun they are not practicing safe business practices in regards to Covid. Workers were not wearing masks while interacting with public (inside their small establishment). Please change your safety practices while inside so that the public and your workers stay safe. We will not go back until common sense practices are used.

Good prices and good service, but the location limits how much you can do and see. With the tide and breeze it took us about 45 minutes to make it to the beach to hang out, so were glad we did the two hour option.

This was my first time paddle boarding and I can not wait to go again! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They ensured we had a good idea of what to do while out on the water. Also you can’t beat the price! I like the option of going alone (vs. going with a tour or guide). This was such a great experience.

Had a great experience. Calm day. Rented the 3 Sup boards for an hour. Two friendly employees Sarah and the YMCA (I forgot her name just named her YMCA) girl. Got the rentals ready, quick YMCA tutorial. 9:30am launch low tide against current and returned with the current. Wish water was clearer.

Excellent service. Saw numerous great blue herons, large hawks, hermit crabs, snails, great private sand beach before it opens up to a larger span of water. Saw cargo plane fly overhead. Waters were calm. Large oyster habitation. The owner was down to earth, professional and made it very easy . Thanks if we visit again we would use Tula .

Very friendly efficient process. It was cold and windy, but we received advice as to where to paddle because of wind and tide coming in. Would do again if I visit Virginia Beach again.

Took the pontoon cruise around Bay Island. Our group brought our own cooler and snacks. The captain told us pirate stories and other cool facts about the area. Coming back for their downstream paddleboard tour soon. They also have amazing rental discounts for locals. Buy 7 hours of rental time for $70.

As local residents and paddlers with previous experience, I selected the Downstream Paddleboard tour for the benefit of our first time paddler and 13 year-old family friend who would be going with us. We wanted to be sure his experience was a good one and that the lesson he received before starting was thorough.I cannot underscore the professionalism, well-thought details of Tula Sports enough. While providing first class equipment, an excellent, picturesque, location (minus construction outside their control), their staff was knowledgeable, relatable, and interested only in providing a wonderful experience for their guests.Jacob was a fine guide and shared details and history of First Landing and Long Creek that even I, as a long time resident, was unaware of. He and Brett/Britt (forgive me) managed to put our anxious, young guest at ease over conversation throughout a fantastically relaxing morning. We were greeted at the end of our tour by Issa and Bruce on the pontoon boat, and given some time to explore the beach we landed on.Perhaps the biggest underrated part of this tour is the boat ride in. Due to the amount of dolphin in the creek this time of year, its not uncommon to see them in the channel. We happened upon a pod of six and Issa was kind enough to follow them about from a safe distance for a bit and even anchor the boat for us all to admire.Such a phenomenal experience was truly worth this extended write-up. We appreciated receiving the service we paid for, but especially for going above and beyond, making this a day our young person wont forget. The kicker is that we didnt even tell them how special this day needed to be--thanks, again.

As a, hmm, lets say middle-aged, first-timer at trying SUP, I had my doubts. The staff at Tula VA Beach was so helpful and positive. Although I didnt stay up very long, I had an absolute blast. Id do it again in a heartbeat. In addition to SUP, they have a variety of kayaks, both single and double, and everything you need to get on the water quickly and safely. Youll be glad you went.

Update: This is our favorite family stop in Virginia Beach. We take our five and seven year old kayaking with us in the double kayaks. Every time we go the staff is friendly and pay such attention to our kids that they cant wait to go back. Tula is an absolute gem!!!! Also, the owner Isa is fantastic. I also bought a paddleboard which they fit me with great. Its nice and stable so I can balance a kid or the dog and yet fine to carry. Exactly what I was looking for.We took a fifth grade field trip with Tula Adventure Sports using the kayaks. The kids had an amazing time with their energetic guide, Isa. They learned a lot about the various sea life and protecting the environment. We absolutely loved it!!!!

Bought my paddle board from Tula Adventure Sports a couple years ago and have attended many sunset paddles since. I recently took wakeboarding lessons with Isa and she was an amazing teacher; after a few pointers I was up on the board in no time! Cant wait for my next lesson!

Great kayak and paddle board rentals, set back on the water behind the First Landing State Park. Friendly staff. Unfortunately it is an area with heavy pleasure boat traffic, and the nearby lake is used for speed boating and jet skis. Next time we might head out the other direction to the Chesapeake Bay, even though thats another 20-30 minutes to get there.

Rented a paddle board for the day here. My fiance was not renting but still needed a life jacket and they let us have an extra one which I thought was very considerate. I highly recommend them!

Tula Adventure Sports treated my company to a day of awesome watersports! Esa took us on a boat to do wake boarding, water skiing, and tubing. She was so informative about Virginia Beach and First Landing State Park. Each one of the staff is extremely personable and a joy to be around. I chose to go tubing which was such a great idea because I was too afraid to do the water skiing. They have something to do for any age. I completely recommend this company everybody.

She helped me demo a couple boards on the water (with my dog!) which was very helpful, showed me new and used inventory, and was very patient while I made my decision.
