Great customer service and amazing experience! I rented a fat bike to take from Sandbridge down to the NC border. Rob had it dropped off as described in the morning and gave me a nice overview of that type of bike and what type of terrain to expect in Back Bay and False Cape. I would definitely rent from them again and recommend you do to!

Great kayak through Hells Point Creek, starting at launch point behind the shop, then kayak about 2 miles south to entrance of North Bay. The creek that splits off right before North Bay, so you may choose to go either way. We chose to go into the Bay, it was a good turn around point as it was forecast to rain soon. I would have loved to explore the area more, if only we had more time. The kayak rental shop was very nice and made the process go smoothly, provided us with maps of the tributaries and weather precautions.

Best deal in the Virginia Beach area for Kayak rentals. While most places charge you an outrageous amount for 2 hours, Ocean rentals has daily and longer rentals that are the same price. Phenomenal deal and the launch at the location has great scenery to the bay.Friendly staff who got the job done quickly and got us on the water in minutes.

I had a very good experience renting a mountain bike from Ocean Rentals. The guy renting equipment was quick, helpful, and accommodating. I had a small emergency and had to drop off the bike with the rear wheel detached and after hours without giving them notice, and they were very understanding.

I called ahead of time to make sure that 1) they had kayaks available and 2) as long as we showed up before 2pm we would be able to get in the water. We showed up at 1:30 only to find out that the manager left 15 minutes prior with the keys, so we couldnt get kayaks. It was a 45 minute drive out there and it was wasted, in spite of my calling in and getting assurance that we would be good to go.

Today was the 3rd time I’ve driven 45 minutes out of the way to rent kayaks from ocean rentals and was told I was not able to. The first time the water was too cold on a fairly warm day, the second time the person who rents them out was on break and would be back later, and now today the 3rd time was because they do not launch kayaks after 2 pm. The reason for my review and because there is 0 communication on their website about time of year, times they stop launching, times employees break, and really time frames for anything at all besides scheduled tours which is not what I was looking to do any of these times. I understand I could call the establishment but I should equally be able to find any information on a website that I could obtain from calling. They may pride themselves in having “high quality equipment”, but their customer service and communication via updated channels are no where close to that, at least with the 3 personal experiences I’ve had. If you wish to rent from them, I suggest calling, but I will just be spending the money I would have spent these past 3 times to just buy my own personal kayak.

I just want to say. I love love love Ocean Rentals Ltd. I broke a ski at squaw and was SO freaked out about it and they helped me feel so much better about the whole thing. Will always be a customer here.
