Was looking for snow blower belts. The employee was able to find them by part number and pull them from a large collection on the wall. Great service and very quick.

I had some parts that I needed to replace, but wasnt sure they would stock such a unique (odd) item, but they had it in stock at a great price. After getting my mower tuned-up at local hardware store, I tried to start it to mow a month later. Would not start. Took it back. This happened 4 times. Called AJS who I had done business with in the past and brought it right over...Sorry. They called me an hour and a half later and said it was ready .Picked it up and I was in business. Took it home and it started on the first try. It ran great and sounded new. Its great to deal with folks who know what they are doing. Thank you very much.

Just purchased high end Honda lawnmower from this business. Read all the reviews prior to going to this business. I am not gonna lie I was a little leery about going there. Despite all the negativity my experience was very good. Knowledgeable sales woman, good pricing, good customer service. Spare parts were in stock and other supplies were at a very good price. I would recommend this business to anyone!!!

Recently had my mower in for the repair of a non start issue. Got it home and it started and ran fine. That was until I had to stop it to empty the bag. It wouldnt restart. I had to let it cool to get it going again.I called A&Js and explained the problem and was told to bring it in and it would be fixed while I waited, since the problem was a relatively simple fix.. And it was. I offered to pay for the service, but Andy wouldnt take my money even though it was something that was unrelated to the original repair.I appreciate businesses that strive to do right by the customers, and thats why Ill continue to patronize this shop.

The most trustworthy businessman I have ever met - purchased lawn mower, snow blower, chainsaw, etc. from here AND had them serviced over the years. Prices are always fair, and deadlines and commitments are always met! I have referred many people here (P.S. I cannot all the negative reviews - hard to believe).

Ive been here many times, lastly to have a carburetor from my power washer rebuilt. Fantastic job, and extremely fairly priced. I bought a new Toro lawn mower here, again i did my homework and there price was competitive, I would much rather support a mom and pop shop, then these big chain stores. I will continue to support this store!

These guys were great! My snow blower was running rough and had a small fuel leak, I dropped it off and had a call back the next day with an estimate, parts were in stock and I had my machine back after a few days. I think the price was fair, they explained everything to me and even showed me the old parts.Great honest guys to deal with!

Couldint be happier with the customer service I received from Anthony. He answered all the questions I had. Even gave me great advice which ended up saving me good money. Store contained lots of top of the line gear and information clearly posted on lots of their policies up front which was very helpful indeed. After reading some of the previous low stared comments Ive came to conclusion those customers were either illiterate or incompetent. Keep up the good work!

Very good experience. Nice guys. Helpful and to the point. Fixed my snowblower in a short turnaround during a week long winter storm (and when everyone was bringing their broken snowblowers in for repair). Explained the problem at pick up and also completed a maintenance with no problems.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. After being left on hold for 10 minutes, I called back and the person answering the phone said she forgot about me. I was told that the blade and belt on my lawn mower needed to be replaced. This was after they did over $600 worth of “work” to the lawn mower. Getting a bit angry, I told the woman that this was unacceptable. She put me on hold and a man got on the line. When I said that I wasn’t sure why the woman had transferred me to him, he said, “it’s because you’re having a panic attack on the phone”. He was incredibly rude during outer entire conversation. I will never use this company again. I suggest you stay far away.

Havent dealt with any service there yet but as far as information about the products they sell, they are very knowledgeable. You have to support our local dealers or we will lose them. I will be back there in the late summer for a snowblower.

Ive been going to AJs for 20 years for annual service on my lawnmower and snow blower. Both machines always start on the 1st pull, even my 30 year old lawnmower that I retired last year because of a worn out clutch. Happy to have purchased a fairly priced Honda from AJs to replace it.

Do not take any equipment here. They quoted an unrealistic amount to change two belts and some bearings on a snow thrower. When I questioned the cost and asked for a breakdown the young lady told me the quote included an oil change and new spark plug. I asked to remove that from the quote because I did not ask for oil and plug. She said the oil and plug was only ten dollars. I laughed and asked if I brought my snow thrower in for oil and plug they would only charge me ten dollars? She said yes, the plug costs five dollars so the cost for oil, plug and labor is ten dollars. She finished with you have a $80 credit towards the repair as if that was never my money to begin with and the total cost should feel better now. Its the classic over charge for what really needs to be done and insult your intelligence with immature and un intelligent banter.

Terrible customer service.Called for a price to install a tire when I arrive they tell me they won’t install a tire without purchasing a tube.Why would I require a tube on a tub less tire I ask? They tell me it’s not worth the hassle if it leaks.Went down the street to another dealer and no questions tire installed no leaks.

Had my machine serviced for a reasonable price with excellent turn around. Gentleman that work there were kind an very informative with the service conducted on my mower. All the pricing an policies are posted in numerous places the the shop which answered most of my questions. Thanks AJS

Description of service is poor at best.Dropped off a pressure washer Saturday with being told it would only be a two day job. After three days and no communication, I placed a call an hour before closing. I was told they could not give me an answer over the phone and someone would have to go back and check on the status and call me back. (Its a two person operation in a very small building(?)). No call back yesterday and no call all day today. An hour before close today I was fortunate to speak to someone after sitting on hold for five minutes to find out the cost was much higher than originally communicated. In trying to voice my dissatisfaction with service and communication, they hung up! Then they lied about a poor connection.$80 later, a unit in the same condition as when I brought it in 5 days ago and an exhorbitant cost to repair that was still communicated to still not be the final price- it could still be plus or minus 10%.In reading responses to reviews, no, I wont be calling for a follow up to be hung up on a second time but please feel free to call and discuss. Hopefully the connection wont be poor again.

Do not use AJs Lawnmower, Inc. They are BOGUS they will take your money just to look over your machine (snow blower or lawn mower), then 2 weeks later (when they finally get around to it), will tell you it is not worth fixing and will want you to pick up your machine.Seriously we do not think they know how to FIX ANYTHING and we feel they must have needed the money more than us which is very sad in this day and age. The only good we got out of this is, was finding a good person who truly knew how to fix our machine and finding out that our engine was not trashed as AJs Lawnmower Inc. said it was. Plus knowing that KARMA will come back to haunt them.

A rip off. Terrible service. AJs took my ride on John Deere for an annual service. After paying them over $300, they refused to listen to the fact that it wasnt running properly. On top of it they were rude and condescending. I took it to Tonys lawnmower service in Elmwood Park, to discover the transmission belt, carburetor, pulleys, inner tube, needed replacing. I havent looked back since. That was two years ago. My mower now needs minimal upkeep.

Not fixed keeping deposit??? What??? Iam waiting to hear back. I will update this post positively if they make it right.As of right now AJs was unable to fix my mower and they say they are keeping my $40.00 deposit???Not Right!

I would not recommend purchasing a Toro Timecutter. The one I purchased here in March of this year leaves burn marks in the lawn. When asked, this dealer did not have an answer and sent me to Toro who sent me to another dealer. Google searches for similar complaints have turned up nothing significant which I attribute to the relative new-ness of the model I bought (SS 4225). Will need to find a work-around until someone can help. Possibly by resizing the muffler or come up with a heat shield. Should have done more shopping myself so hopefully this is helpful to others.

Stay clear of this place, they overcharge for everything, and they are very unpleasant towards the customer, there are better places in the area to deal with. Even ace hardware is a better place to get parts from and work done.

A really bad experience. $130 for blade sharpening and a tune up. Could have practically bought a new mower for that. Stay away. Go to Mowers and More 200 yards down the road.

I recently moved into the area and after a Google search found AJS Lawnmower. After I had left my snowblower in storage for a year, it wouldnt start. After searching Google I called AJ and brought it right over...The charges were clearly listed on the wall behind the counter and after the work was completed, the bill was the same as quoted the day I brought it in...Its good to know AJS is there should I need work on my lawnmower...Thanks

I purchased a new Toro lawnmower two years ago from AJs. First year it ran great. Second year needed a new carburetor due to bad gas. So I purchased a new carb took it home and it happened again! This time though I did use the gas they recommended. Toro would not pay for the new carburetor. After numerous calls by me and Andy to Toro, they refused to pay for the defective carb. since the engine is made my Kohler. So I called kohler and just got more of the same run around. Meanwhile Andy put in a new carb and still allowed me to take it home, which was so awesome of him.Well guess what? It happened again. So my lawnmower is still living at Ajs. Andy is doing everything he can do to help me out, but Toro is no cooperating. Dont purchase a Toro 22in recycler mower, ithink it is model 20370, coat about $300.

If you know how to fix your own lawnmower this place has all the parts you will need. Was skeptical at first about the reviews for this place but after shopping here few times there customer service is excellent.

I had called to see how much a quote would be to get an oil leak fixed on my tractor would be. I was given a price for a quote over the phone and was told it would be part of the total cost of the repair. I was also told the hourly rate for the work on that same phone call.I thought, Great! This will be easy and cheaper than all the other places, so I took my tractor in, and asked for two other things to be looked at.Understanding that parts take a while to get in, I knew that it ay take a while to fix. So thats not my problem with them.My problem: I had told them i was leaving for the weekend and wouldnt be able to pick my tractor up until the following week. I called when I got home and was told the tractor would be ready for me to pick up the next day. I asked how much it would be, since I never received a quote or authorized any work to be done. The owner straight out told me that he didnt know. After two weeks of having it, he still would not tell me how much it was going to be. I eventually got it out of him, after arguing, how much the parts cost. After that he proceeded to tell me how much the hourly rate was. When I was told this time, The hourly rate was much greater than I was originally told on the first phone call.He persisted in telling me that I was wrong, and he refused to come up with a compromised price. He stopped all work on the tractor. (but remember it was going to be fixed the next day) and the oil leak hadnt even been looked at yet. He tried saying he is a catholic and he wouldnt lie, but i know for i fact on the first phone call i was told a cheaper price.He held my tractor hostage until I was able to come in and pay the bill.STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!OWNER IS A LIAR AND GIVES YOU ONE PRICE AND WHEN IT COMES TIME TO PAY, THAT PRICE IS MUCH HIGHER!TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE!STAY AWAY FROM BAD BUSINESS HERE AT AJS LAWNMOWER REPAIR!
