I would say communication is their super power from the folks working in the office extending out into the field. Unfortunately we had a 120 tree come through our house in a wind storm that cut though our roof and took out 4 rooms. Luckily our insurance agent put us in touch with Paul Davis and that day they had a crew over and secured and covered our roof and windows that kept the house dry until restoration could begin Im still amazed at how well and fast that job was done and made me decide to use them to reconstruct our house. They sealed off the damaged area from the rest of the house which allowed us to stay living here. They even took a door from a demolished bedroom and build an entry way from the hall to our kitchen so we had privacy. The demo work was handled very professional as was the wrapping, tagging, and video of all our belongings that were transported to their warehouse. Shawn Vice coordinated with my insurance agent and locked that part down and then we were into the permit stage with the city which does take some time. Once the rebuild started we were very lucky to have Mariah Hayes as our project manager. She was professional from the start and kept us up to date on every phase of the rebuild from who and why and which contractor was coming. Being here was a real plus to be able to watch some of the framing, setting trusses, roofing, building my new shed, and even painting. Once it was done they brought back all our furniture and belongings that werent damaged and put them back in the same place they were in from the pictures they took. Big big thanks to Mariah, Shawn, Scott, David, Cody and all the crew that made us our home again!!!

COVID a tough time for everyone. My kitchen flooded and had to get my downstairs hardwood redone. Between being non-communicative and switching project managers and people literally not knowing who was running the job.... It took them over 6 months to fix a very small area. I was without running water or gas in my kitchen for 2 months for no apparent reason. Then, I was without ANY hardwood floors downstairs for 2 months because...? They didnt do any work. Then, they had to rip out the bathroom which I was told would be a 1-2 day job and we were without a washer, dryer, and toilet for 3 weeks. Also, when they hooked up our washer upon finishing... It didnt work properly. I told them about it multiple times and they eventually just said well all we did was unhook it and hook it back up. We didnt do anything. I was tired of having people come over then having to come back so so many times.We still have problems with our washer but they didnt give us any helpful answers so we gave up As for the rest of the project, did they eventually get it done? Yes. Would I ever recommend them? No. Please do not use Paul Davis if you want your job done in a timely manner with professional communication.

Horrible communication from day 1, they cant figure out how to schedule more than a couple of minor tasks each month, they have a ridiculous Overhead & Profit (O&P) model that seems random, some of them cant seem to use their own software (BuilderTrend), some of the worst project management Ive ever seen. Make sure to review your billing - they would have overcharged by more than $10k if we hadnt reviewed the billing and compared that to work done and materials. They seem to mainly use workers out of Washington, so if youre in Oregon, youll be paying for workers travel time, which they cushion a lot.SCAM ARTISTS!

I had a pipe burst. The people who came out refused to listen to direction and did what ever they wanted. They said they would do extraction then proceded to tear my house apart creating more damage then the initial pipe burst. When confronted about not following aka what they said they were going to do and asked to leave, proceded to call their manager (not the cops or any legal council) and told him I pulled a gun on them. (Which I do NOT own any guns.) I am going to be meeting with a lawyer tomorrow being Monday about this. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

This was our first experience with a major project within our home and naturally we were intimidated with the aspect of subcontractors coming and going and the worry of the quality of work, etc. I could not be more impressed with the level of professionalism and the quality of work that was provided. We were well informed of what was taking place on a daily basis and our project was actually completed ahead of schedule. Our floors were restored after some water damage and they look amazing now.

I had a leak in the upstairs shower and insurance recommend Paul Davis to do the mitigation and repairs. The mitigation was completed on time and professionally - that would be 5 stars. I have been waiting for about 2 months for the repairs to be completed. The estimator did his part and my insurance and myself havent heard a word since. I called about 3 weeks ago and was told he would call me and still nothing. From what I have seen on the reviews and how quick the mitigation was completed that this part should not be a problem.

We recently completed a restoration project with Paul Davis. We had a leak that caused a lot of damage in our hallway and into our childrens bedrooms. From the first encounter to the final walk through, Paul Davis was a great company to work with! Our Project Manager Kevin was great! He really made the whole process easy to understand and was our champion the whole way through. He made dealing with a frustrating situation a lot easier. In addition, each of the various companies(Maccadam Flooring, Profinishers) that we worked with through Paul Davis were excellent. We are so pleased with the quality of work and the outstanding work ethic that we have plans for another project in the spring! Included are some before and after photos.

My wife will be writing an even more detailed review once everything is completed. In the meantime- Talk about a complete disaster and nightmare experience. Has taken months to complete anything. Scott is the biggest nightmare to deal with. Originally I had questioned the competency of the contractor they hired but after all of this time and excuse after excuse, lie after lie- its obvious that SCOTT is the nightmare. Chuck, Ciara, and the contractor had to come to our house to go over the invoice as Scott reported multiple things were done by the contractor, which were not.. Had we not called this meeting, almost 2k would have been billed for which were not done by PD. We were told originally we could continue living in our house as we had kids prepping for distance learning and my wife works from home.. Once the 2weeks start date surpassed us by 6 weeks we were at our wits end and at that point were told that well actually, we need you guys to move out... Our hotel stay went from a 2week stay to a 3 week stay and still they needed more time. Scott gave the excuse that due to power being out at 330pm on a Thursday, they need another week (making that a 4th week)... We absolutely refused- Anyways, we could go on and on, my wife will be giving a much better explanation. This company does not keep their word about anything and deadlines do not exist. (Note: Flood happened July 22nd- they still have things to fix and here we are November 9, yes our final invoice is ready and they are calling about their $ but I refuse to pay until every single thing is done).. Pro: I think Chuck and Ciara are professional and really did seem great, knowledgeable, and want their customer to be happy... but someone between them and the customer repeatedly keeps dropping the ball. More to come.

We had water damage coming from our chimney into the walls and down into the garage. I contacted by insurance company and they recommended Paul Davis. I contacted them and within a day had Patrick out here looking at everything. It was nice to have them deal directly with insurance so I didn’t have to be the middle person between them. Tyler and his crew from the mitigation department of this company were amazing. They were very friendly people to work with, took time to explain what they were doing, cleaned up as best they could area working in, and tried to accommodate my requests as best they could. I would definitely recommend them and use them for future services. We still have the reconstruction team on standby as the areas are drying but once the whole project is done I will leave a review of that department as well.

Guys, I cant say enough about these folks! They are THE BEST in this business and in a stressful traumatic situation. They were beyond helpful, very compassionate, and offered mental support (even though they didnt have to). I highly, HIGHLY recommend Paul Davis. They fight FOR you, take responsibility if anything goes wrong (which did not happen with us- everything was fantastic), and are also personal and down right friendly people! They care about your belongings and they dont rake you over the coals. Called Paul Davis Restoration to help with a board up. Kyle called & listened to the specific needs. Care had to be taken so the wood window jams would not be overdone with screws. They went out of their way to see that we had minimal disruption of normal business. Devin Warner and the mitigation crew did a great job keeping us informed and updated on their progress. I had interior flooding in my home when my washing machine, which is located upstairs, tipped over while running. The flooding went into a little-used upstairs guest room and down into our living room and basement. We were referred to Paul Davis Restoration (Portland/Vancouver) by Allstate Insurance Company.The water remediation work done by Paul Davis was good. They responded quickly and handled the flooding professionally, working daily in our home for a couple weeks. The positive things I have to say about Paul Davis end there.About a week after the remediation team finished their work and left, my family and I went on a two-night camping trip. Our house was burglarized during the time we were out of town and many items of jewelry with tremendous emotional value to my family were stolen.Our alarm was on when we were burglarized. The thief entered through a second story window to avoid triggering the alarm. The entry was through a window that was left unlocked by Paul Davis employees in the little-used guest room in which they were working.I believe it was a Paul Davis employee, or someone associated with a Paul Davis employee who broke into our home. The owner and HR person from Paul Davis at first paid great lip service to the fact that nobody wanted to get to the bottom of this situation more than them and said they would help in any way they could.At the end of the day, they weren’t even willing to give me a list of names of employees who were in my home, citing “privacy concerns.” It has now become our family policy to request a list of names of people working in our home from all subcontractors. I asked the head of HR at Paul Davis if she would have given me the list of names had I asked before hiring their company. She sent me back a condescending email saying that she understood how upset I was, but not answering my question.They did give the list of names to the police, who have done little to nothing with it. I am in the process of trying to obtain the list from the police. I followed up with the officer assigned to our break-in and he told me that after doing criminal history checks there was one person of interest on that list. To me, that means that Paul Davis absolutely sent a criminal into my home.I wouldn’t wish this nightmarish situation on anyone. When you are faced with an emergency situation in your home, it is easy to feel like you have to work with the first person who is able to come help you. I deeply regret choosing Paul Davis in this manner and I can’t recommend them.

I discovered a water leak inside a wall below sub floor and called my insurance agent, they recommended Paul Davis of Vancouver. I called them right away, with in a short time, they were their that night to stop the leak and started to mitigate the water damage that occurred. Paul Davis arranged a plumber for the next morning to repair the pipe that had a small nail hole from when the house was built 23 years ago that finally rusted to cause the leak. They removed all the damaged sheet rock, flooring and insulation and made sure through out the next week that all was dried out. They worked with my insurance company with everything being so seamless so it did not add to the stress of this all happening. I then had Paul Davis to all the restoration work, patching the sheet rock, repainting, repairing the flooring and re-insulating the crawl space. Again working with my insurance company to have no problems with anything. They did a great job, everything looks amazing. All their employees from the 1st call to the end of the job were all so respectful and pleasant to work with, especially under these circumstances. I highly recommend Paul Davis of Vancouver for any issues they can help you with. Hopefully I will not have any other issues like this but if I do, I know who I will be calling again!

We bought a house a year and a half ago and about 6 months ago we have our main drain burst and cause damage to the foundation and weather damage throughout the Lower level bathroom, kitchen, office and upper level half bath.Paul Davis came into our home and mitigated the water damage, removed the damaged material, and have been in constant contact with our home owners insurance.They have be immensely helpful.In particular, Nate Welsh was particularly helpful. We have worked with Nate to develop a plan that works for us. He and his team have been accommodating to work we would like to perform on our own and aided us in developing an interim plan that lays the ground work for future projects.When we need a contractor we will absolutely call on Paul Davis.Thank you Nate, Steve, Paul, Sean, Donna and all those who have helped us in this process.

After a water leak in our bathroom, my husband and I contacted our homeowners insurance and opened a claim for floor repairs. They recommended a restoration company in Portland, but right out of the gate we didnt get great communication with them so we called Paul Davis. I had a positive experience working with them during a restoration project at my work a few years back and felt confident that we would have a better experience with them. Nate was very friendly and honest about what to expect and gave some great suggestions and ideas when assisting us with our bid. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it was more tailored to our needs and also came in lower than the other company. This gave us room to be more creative and do some really nice improvements to our bathroom, as well. Cara, our project manager was about as great as they come with communication. We rarely had questions that werent immediately answered or preemptively addressed by her. She is also very easy to get along with, very involved, and we appreciated that she was always looking out for our best interest in the end. Each of the individual contractors they had in our home was trustworthy, competent, and fair-- which was a breath of fresh air compared to a few other contractors that we have worked with in the past. It was a longer journey than we hoped due to things outside of everyones control, but we are so happy with the end result and thankful for everyone at Paul Davis for making it as smooth as possible. We highly recommend them!

My house had a fire, and like most people, I didnt have any experience dealing with it. I had google searched and then called a few of your competitors before I saw your excellent google review. Just from the office operators courtesy, I could tell a difference. The other companys operators were close to rude while yours are so courteous. Then I met Steve and Scott. They are both very courteous and knowledgeable. Steve helped me throughout the claim process and accommodated my specific needs. Scott is very responsive, and the job quality is generally very good. And if there are minor issues, he will have it fixed right away. I am very happy with their services!

They sure were quick to start, but we really were not satisfied with the results. The fire was in my garage, which they never cleaned. The smell still lingers when it is above 70 outside. After a couple months went by and we needed to use our hall lights since winter came, we found smoke damage in our hallway when we went to move pictures on the walls. We had to paint the ceiling and walls ourselves. After 5 days they said they were done. We have hardwood floors with area carpets that needed to be cleaned also. We the owners were told to pull them out and they would have them back in 2-3 weeks. Took a little longer but we finally got them back. Just be careful when you have insurance since there are deductibles homeowners must pay. For what we were charged to clean we could have painted the entire inside of our home and cleaned it inside including the 2 car garage.

I had an emergency sewage valve incident in my home and they are at my house within 1 hour and turned a very bad situation into a good one in the same day. Jacob and Bronson did a tremendous job getting everything back together. Paul Davis was a pleasure to do business with. We had two upstairs toilets with leaking O-rings resulting in severe water damage through the floors and walls. They were very quick to mitigate the damage and get the demo done. We also used them for the restoration work. Steve Kerstulovich, our estimator and Scott OHaver our project supervisor were a dream to work with. They were both very professional and responsive. They worked seamlessly with our insurance company. Hopefully we will not be in the market again, but if we are we would definitely call Paul Davis.

PDR came to our rescue when we realized there had been a slow leak in a pipe from our water heater that had over time soaked the inside of a wall. The team was onsite within 2 hours, replaced the pipe and the clean up and mitigation started that day. Always prompt, they communicated clearly and did what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. They were sensitive about about wearing masks in our home and cleaned up after themselves constantly. It is a terrible thing to happen to your home, but PDR made the experience as good as it could be. We completely recommend Paul Davis Restoration!

They worked with my insurance company to correct and mitigate the original cause and the do the necessary restoration. There work was top notch. We woke up one Saturday morning (its always on the weekend, isnt it!) to find our kitchen under water. The filter for our hot water spout had gotten full (who knew that they need to be changed?) and so it wouldnt filter anymore and it burst, leaving water all over the kitchen floor. When we went down stairs, it was obvious that the water must have been there all night. It had run down the walls and into the carpet and ruined everything in the finished basement. I called our insurance agent and got the name for Paul Davis Restoration and the rest was easy. They took care of everything!!!! They showed up quickly, told us everything that they would do, the order it would occur in, and how long it would all take. They did exactly what they said, with a great sense of humor (which is important to me, not everyone) when they said they would do it and in the time frame they told us about. No surprises. No frustrations. No problems. At all!! Hire them. I cant believe that anyone could do a better job than they did!

We had the opportunity to work with this company as both a client and a sub contractor. We had a pipe brake in our crawl space. Albert and his mitigation crew came in and drained the crawl space cleaned up and put down new vapor barrier. Albert and his crew was fast, efficient and very easy to work with. I was very pleased with there communication on this project. On the construction side Sam, Corey and Scott O. are great to work with. They manage there sub contractors in a way that the jobs run smoothly, efficiently and finish in a timely manor. They are a very professional group. I only have good things to say about this company!

We had another water leak problem in our house so we called Steve Kerstulovich since he helped us the previous time. As usual, he responded promptly, came to our place to assess the issue and helped us. Very satisfied with his work and service as usual.

Paul Davis was recommended by my Insurance Company they did work on my kitchen, bathroom and basement. Work was completed but we had issues. We needed to have some rework done at our house. Our project manager Scott O told me this was the best it’s going to get. I wasn’t happy with his response so I contacted Ciara Fox she came and inspected the repairs and agreed it not up to Paul Davis standards . Steve came took notes and photos.3 weeks later they sent Jordan and Paul to perform the rework. They did a fantastic job!!I would highly recommend Paul Davis!! He was right on the spot when we found something that needed attention. It was bad enough having your home flooded and to be in such chaos. Our insurance company contacted Paul Davis Restoration when our washing machine burst and flooded the bathroom and closet.The cleanup crew arrived promptly and were the most efficient and genuinely nice people you could employ. The cleaned out the water damage down to the wall beams in a couple of days.The restoration crew were different—quirkier (that’s fine, I like quirky) and not always good communicators; they made it clear that we were a low priority. We didn’t always know when they would show up until the last minute; twice they did not. (They hated the bridge traffic to Portland.)But eventually, they completed the job, and it is mostly okay. The worker did lay the floor in a different direction than it was originally because he didn’t have the “right tool”; that was the only big disappointment. The other was that they “couldn’t get or wait” for samples. Either they were in a hurry or they didn’t show. But they were nice people, and we worked with them.The problem was at the end of the job. They give you a year’s “guarantee,” but they never showed up to finish the rough details: a cracked door; a gaping molding; and black glue seeping through the floor tiles, which is unsightly.I wrote the contractor numerous emails. He finally showed up and said he would return after vacation to finish the details. I wrote again then and again--no answer. I called the office; the woman said that the boss would call me. He did not. I called again. The contractor cc’d me on an email he wrote, telling the workman to complete the job. They never called or showed up.I realize now that I will have to hire another contractor to finish the few flaws. Paul Davis’ guarantee is non-existent. I would not recommend them.

The quick responses from everyone were fantastic and I loved having PDR handle of the subcontractors and working with insurance. The crew that cleaned ruined items out the house were friendly and fast. When I came by the house, someone was willing to stop and answer my questions and discuss options as the work was being completed.

Paul Davis is a responsive vendor who does great work. We have had the opportunity to refer several customers to them and each time they exceed expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend them. Their team is attentive to the customers needs and they do great work. Their marketing rep Kori Harness is a joy to work with and helps keep us up to date on our customers repairs.

Paul Davis did a wonderful job getting the construction on my home done. Even though there were a lot of issue trying to deal with the insurance company. They didnt quit and stuck with me until the job was done. My project manager Juan went out of his way to deal with every issue and paid attention to all the little details. As with any tragedy, we are often forced to make quick decisions. We are reminded each and every day, through our restoration process, what a wise decision it was to hire the Paul Davis Restoration Company.Two weeks ago our child care/preschool business experienced a fire during a roof repair and 2500 square feet of our center was devastated by the fire. There were two classrooms which only sustained smoke damage. The Paul Davis team was there first thing in the morning to guide us through the restoration process. It was nothing short of a miracle that our two classrooms were up and running again in two short weeks. The two classrooms looked like and smelled like brand new classrooms. They practically were, the way they scrubbed, painted, replaced insulation, took care of the contents, and cleaned the classroom from top to bottom. They do excellent work, but more importantly we were treated like we were their top priority. Every team member has a can do attitude with a smile on their face. As we walked through the storm after our tragic fire event, that kind of customer service meant the world to us.
