Ive been getting my hair cut here for the last 10 years and even though I have several friends that cut hair, I remain loyal to Rochelle and her crew. They keep you current with hair and beard styles, will be honest in their opinions if you ask them, and the shop conversation is usually adult. With that said, if youre timid, you might want to stick with Super Cuts or some other place. If youre looking for a long term barber shop, I would hands down recommend this shop! Between the conversation, hair cuts, and razor shaves, you cant go wrong!

Im glad someone recommended Bernie & Rollies to me. The haircut I received is fantastic. My beard trim came out shorter than I had hoped for, but Sadie explained how damages my beard was. She put me at ease, and assured me that she can help me keep it healthy and grow in better than before. I will keep going back and highly recommend Bernie & Rollies to others.

I like the atmosphere and the barbers. FYI, This is a cash only business. My haircut and tip came to $23.Edit: I tried the same barber for a second attempt after my hair was cut short the first time and I can not recommend one of the barbers. I had to go back the same day because my hair was uneven and shaped like a chewed pencil eraser.

The haircut was good! Customer service, not so much? Maybe she was having a bad day. Pricing is good, just wasn’t all too impressed with the hair dresser.

Sadie was my barber on 10/19/20. I wanted a haircut and shave. Sadie gave me the best haircut I have received since moving here 2014. And the shave was amazing and Sadie also gave me a short shoulder, neck and face massage with the shave. Simply marvelous experience. Thanks. I will be back.

Guys if you havent been here you are truly missing out. These ladies are very good at their profession and take great pride in their work. I new to Vancouver and I must say I have NEVER had a flawless hair cut until now. Sadie know her craft and I would put her up against any barber. This was my all-time favourite barber shop until they let go my favourite barber. They great Aura and friendly and neighbourly touch left when they got rid of their best barber. The remaining barbers are by far the worst barbers that in my 51 years of life and going to a barbershop.

Ive been seeing Sadie for about a year and cant believe I havent posted a review. The shop is super chill and is walk-in only - no more trying to schedule an appointment weeks out with my favorite barber! Sadie is absolutely fantastic. She takes her time and it shows. My cut and beard trim is perfect every time.

Its a classic barbershop; guys sitting around joking with the barbers, a nice cozy look, and people who know what theyre doing. Every time I get a haircut from them I get plenty of compliments. They also do shaves, but I dont know how well they do that myself. The only downside is they only take cash, but thats not a problem for most people.

First off, I dropped in from out of town on a business trip, and they fit me right in. Thats a huge deal for me since making an appointment doesnt always work out. Second, it was Halloween and the women working there were all decked out and it was awesome. Now onto the cut:Sadie was fantastic, gave me the best cut of my life, after I gave her my usual vauge instructions and non-committal requests. She spent a good amount of time on me, and clearly takes pride in her work. Great conversation topped it all off. I dont usually commit to becoming a regular as I rarely travel to the same spot for work...but Im certainly gonna try for this spot. Dont pass it up!Thanks Sadie!

Little over three months ago I got a awful awful haircut at one of those really expensivebarber shops in Portland, The place shall not be named. That bad haircut left me wondering if there’s any place in Portland that I can trust with my hair, I happen to be in the area in Vancouver Washington around that time and read great reviews on yelp about this barbershop Bernie and Rowley’s, and at that point my hair was so messed up that I had nothing to lose. I was so very very surprised and so grateful that I ended up going to that location because for the last 3 1/2 months now it has been my go to barbershop for trims. The owner of the barbershop is the lady who cuts my hair, she is super nice, very attentive, very personal when it comes to hair. When I showed up to her with my awful haircut she talked me through a plan for the next coming weeks and months to get my hair back to Normalcy. I can’t think her enough and I will continue coming to this barbershop for as long as I live in the area. I wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors and I hope their business thrives for years.

I always give a Honest review. This place had nice barbers But The hair cut was not better than other places. It is like every other place when it is not busy you will get a good haircut, but when people start walking in they start rushing to get to the next person. this happened to me again. the girl that cut my hair (N) did not listen to me at all. Bernie and Rollies is just another ordinary place. This is not a family place they have playboy magazines on the shelf. i will not come back.

Love this barber shop, Sadie is the lady to go see if you need anything from a straight razor shave to kids hair cuts. She does a phenomenal job and is decently priced for all the services you can get. Go see her ASAP!!! 😀

Terrible Shave! I get a Birthday Shave every year! Nadia gave me a shave and missed much of my face. I went back to have a Redo. She still missed it! I came home and used my Gillette. I could have saved $25 and took my wife out of a NICE lunch! DONT go there! If friends ask... I will Discourage them! So Disappointed!😞Heres an update.. Nadia offer me a refund on the condition that I delete this review! Thats Extortion! Harsh word! Even more reason to Stay away from Bernie and Rollies! They should be ashamed of themselves!UPDATE (8/10/18) I just read a response back from the owner. He/She condones holding (extorting) a refund until I delete a BAD Review! Obviously that they cannot accept that they did a horrible job on a simple shave! Ive already filed a formal complaint with Dept of Licensing & Dept of Health. I would filed a complaint with the BBB. But, they ARENT a member!!

Amazeballs!!! Sadie is a riot. I Recently had to fire my old barber due to the revolving door of stylists and lack of consistency. Highly recommend getting the straight razor shave! They dont rush the Customer and genuinely want to get to know the people in the neighborhood.

Great hair cut, I believe Tammy helped me, blond Eastern European woman I believe. But at the end Sadie asked if I wanted a taper in the back and do to a skin conditions I preferred not to have that done. But she told me This is how we do things here so I said thats fine do whatever you wanna do. Tried to shake it off. But as im sitting there and shes helping the other woman with my hair she is talking about how I dont know what I want, and guys dont know what they are talking about and that I just came in and asked them to make me look good. But she wasnt even in the room when I arrived... I asked for her to make the sides and back short, and the too long, and to make it look better than when I walked in. and then she says that they shouldnt give a client a choice in clipper numbers(for length) thing is. Im 20 years old, Ive gotten many haircuts and I understand the process. My dad worked at a Cosmetology school teaching hair for a very long time. So it was a slap in the face, even if a client doesnt know what he wants or what the process is I can guarantee you that he doesnt want to sit there and listen to someone talk about him like hes not there and like hes stupid...We got into a little bit of a standoff, and afterwards I apologized but then she kinda got in my face after it was all said and done and goes K thanks and walks away. And on top of this she told me that if I dont like the way they cut hair I could go somewhere else.... its not that I dont like they way she cuts hair... its her attitude. After the first thing Sadie said to me she had an attitude and I was really confused as to why. Im not sure if it was homophobic, or if she was having a rough day, or she has something going on outside of work thats stressful... but nobody wants their blood to boil and their adrenaline going while getting a haircut. I spent 1 1/2 hours getting my haircut... the last 45 of it was the most stressful part of my day... great haircut and great service. But if youre having that bad of a day.. dont come to work.That being said. I can tell Sadie is a good person and I would love to sit down and get a haircut and get to know her a little better. We got off on the wrong foot.

I usually get my hair cuts at Brick and Mortar, however I recently moved to Vancouver, WA and the drive to portland was not an option due to traffic conditions after work. So I decided to try this place since it was 3 blocks from my house and more than $10 cheaper than brick and mortar. I went in and two women were working that day. I waiting a short time and got in the seat after an older gentleman finished up with his cut. I showed the young woman what sort of haircut I wanted on my phone, she quickly glanced at the photo for a split second and said I can do that. I was a little worried at that point since she didnt get a good look at the small photo I showed her. I was the faced toward the wall away from the mirror, then she began the work. During the haircut I never got a chance to see what was going on. The two woman were having a loud conversation half the time and not focusing on the hair cutting. They made an inappropriate joke about mens genitals. Then she looked at me to see my reaction, ( as if I would laugh) I pretended I didnt hear and stared at photos on the wall. There were several uncomfortable sexual innuendos between the two women. I was told by the woman cutting my hair how she has worked with hair for many many years and believes she does an amazing job. I just listened at this point. Once she finished, she turned me around to face the mirror. I was shocked at how bad the cut it, it was almost 40 minutes of cutting to end up with the top way too short, about half the length I asked for. The fade was terrible, I could do the same job myself. I just sat the staring at myself with a half smile, completely unhappy. Im a nice guy so I just wanted to pay and leave. But guess what, they dont take cards!! Cash only. Its 2017 and this business doesnt have a square account or some sort of visa/mastercard machine, thats unacceptable for a business to only take one form of payment. Since I didnt have cash on hand I was to told to walk across the street to an atm at a check cashing establishment. I was a little bit in disbelief at this point and thought they were joking. I had to jay walk across 4 lanes (nearest crosswalk was pretty far, they even encouraged me to jaywalk) of road and pay $3 fee at an atm to get a $20 bill for my haircut. I walked back after waiting on cars to pass and leave enough room for me to run across the street safely. I handed the $20 to the young woman who cut my hair and she just grabbed it and said thanks and walked away from me to the back and didnt come back. She didnt even give me change, the cut wasnt tip worthy. I was furious at this point. I left to my car and drove home. The hair cut was bad, worth $5 maybe. I love to support local business, but this place is a joke. After my hair grew back I went to Brick and Mortar and had Adam cut me. He even noticed where the issues were with my last haircut and pointed out the mistakes. He gave me one of the best haircuts I had in a long time. I paid that $30 plus a nice tip and was happy. Worth every dollar. I hope Bernies fixes their shortcomings and hires some professional barbers like Adam. However, I would never return.
