The quality of the massage was fine, but my overall experience was not good. I came in and explained that I was there due to stress from working as a front line healthcare worker, as I’ve been seeing lots of people sick and dying lately, much worse since the pandemic. The massage therapist I saw was generally kind to me, but talked throughout making it difficult to relax(some people might appreciate this). Then at the very end of the treatment said a bunch of scientifically inaccurate things about masks and vaccines, and said “I hope you’re not involved in all of that,” which I clearly am, and they walked out. I am all for open dialogue and discussion about people’s healthcare concerns, but this experience left me feeling more anxious than when I arrived, and made me concerned about if the staff at this location are taking precautions to keep themselves and their clients safe. I honestly wish I had not gone.
My massage left me feeling lighter than air. I’ve never felt so loose and relaxed. I’ll definitely be doing at least one or two massages a month from now on.
WOULD GIVE NO STAR IF ABLE. Please take a moment to read reviews. This massage envy is horrible. Service, professionalism and level of expertise by masseuses are all very poor. I have now had two terrible experiences without any follow up from owner/management. I am an athlete and I work in healthcare. My first experience at this location resulted in injuries to my back and neck. My most recent experience resulted in getting cancelled because I was late to a 90 minute massage. I called ahead and notified them that I would be late and they confirmed my massage but then they called and cancelled. The owner, Jenny, is a irresponsible business owner and does not care about her business or customer service. I called her about both issues and she did not respond. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS. ITS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.
After arriving and being escorted to a room, the provider says shell be right back. She returned 10 minutes later which counted against my paid time. I am not happy with having a 90 minute appointment that results in about 75 minutes of massage. About 60 minutes was focused on my upper back and neck, although I requested the main focus to be my low back, glutes, and hamstrings which only got about 15 minutes of attention. Surprising, since I mentioned my focus areas a couple times before and during the session. This was the second time this happened with this same person (my mistake for accidentally choosing the same person). She sounded as if she was on heavy narcotics and often during my massage, would resort to light repetitive kneading which was a waist of my time. Toward the end I was told you have 4 minutes left, would you like me to work on your arms? I said no, how about my low back area as I had requested. I am cancelling my membership. Enough is enough!
They charge us if we dont reschedule soon enough, I showed up for a massage and the lady never even showed up! Nice
Bill is amazing!! Ive been going to him for a year now because hes the only therapist Ive ever been to that can work out all of my upper back knots in one session. I also appreciate that he allows me to relax the whole session without engaging in excessive small talk. He is highly recommended! The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful as well.
I got a massage on groupon and the staff was really nice and friendly was able to get me in right away the only reason im doing a 4 star is because the girl who did my massage talked the whole entire time, and I like to do small talk but I also wanted to relax and felt I couldnt.
DO NOTAttempt to get massage at this place of business.Both my wife and I were treated very poorly.The employees figured she missed her appointment. They charged us a great deal of money for being absent.The problem was we were sitting in their office in the waiting room and somehow we managed to be absent?When I asked for the manager I was treated like a baby. The employees response was. I Am the Manager!I work in retail/customer service all i wanted to hear was, sure no problem. Or what can I do for you or even what is this regarding.My wife and I wanted help with back pain after hiking instead we were charged a total of $180 and were sent away with tension headaches on top of the back pain.The worst part is that my wife was so upset I called Envy, and asked if they could apologize for the confusion and book another appointment which I would pay for.The woman laughed at me on the phone, whispered softly but enough for me to hear, then said tell your wife she is being a baby, what else can I do for her laugh laugh*Rude*Condescending*Cruel*Vague.*Hidden fees (more ludicrous than other businesses/doctors.Some of the worst attributes for a massage specialist facility to have.Please screen your employeees, Im so upset I wish I could do more to warn people not to patronise your businessThank you for your time, this is constructive and I hope it helps.
Twice have had my appointment cancelled within two hours of the scheduled time. I tried to call multiple times to reschedule or set a new appointment and no will answer. Even when I do get an appointment usually get time cut from the massage. Would recommend never coming here.
I have had regular massages at this location for 3 years, with 7 different therapists, 3 of which I have requested consistently. The other 4 were mediocre to awful, but Ive had bad massages at elite spas and paid a lot more for them- testing therapists goes with the territory. If you request someone who specializes in what youre going for, even specifying issues and problem areas (whip lash, pregnancy, etc.), the staff is very good at assigning a therapist appropriately. Ive been seeing Brenda for the past year or so and shes excellent- very experienced and great at getting tough knots out without bruising. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the atmosphere (probably at all massage envy locations) is very commercial and not extremely relaxing/luxurious. Over all, the price is good (comparable) and if you know what you want and ask for it during scheduling, its a good experience.
I am 7 months pregnant. All I wanted was a relaxing good massage. I went in for an hr prenatal massage. The therapist I had was very unprofessional. She talked to me the entire time about her life story, she kept asking me very personal questions about my life and just wouldn’t stop. On top of that, the massage she gave me, felt like she was just rubbing oil on me. No pressure what’s so ever. Of course I would start to ask her for more pressure but she wouldn’t let me get a word in. One last thing, she cute my massage short by 10 min, she said that she started early so she’ll end early. I didn’t even get back into the room until 5 min after my appointment should start. Rediculous.
BEWARE!!! I was a member for many years! I cancelled my service because they stole my pre-paid massages.I had 8 remaining & they disappeared. So I cancelled. Please keep in mind I gave them several chances to fix this but they didnt care based off there actions. I complained in person, as well as via phone several times trying to get help and finally with a 30 day letter to cancel my now month to month service. Thank goodness I was no longer shackled to a term contract.My wife stayed on with them so today she had an appointment and do to a severe schedule conflict she asked to reschedule. They said absolutely not she will loss her money even after my wife asked for the manager. Keep in mind they have canceled on her several times the very day of the appointment with no credit or compensation for the inconvenience. Frustrated she said fine Ill gift my massage to my husband. an hour prior to the appointment they called me and said since I cancelled my membership several months back I am not allowed to take my wife place even though this has been gifted to me. They told me that my wife will have to go to the appointment or she will be fully charged.This was backed by the Manager. This place is a scam. The facility was very clean, staff courteous and thorough on explaining their steps. The massage was fabulous! Just what I needed. Ill definitely go back again.
I have been reluctant to get a massage because I was worried it would be awkward. Quite the opposite! I have a lot of soreness in my back, neck and shoulders from work/stress and this was just what I needed! I feel better than I have in ages, and I plan to go back again soon... thank you, Kristine for making my first massage a good one!
I have been a member of Massage Envy on and off for years. I like this location and use it even though I live on the other side of Vancouver. They always seem to have more availability sooner than the other location. Ive seen many of the therapist at this location and have really liked most of them. My back can get ticklish with the wrong kind of touch and most of the therapist here notice and adapt without me saying anything.
If I could give them zero stars I would have.I am 7+ months pregnant with twins. I’ve never cancelled on the same day before but have had massage therapists cancel on me the same day numerous times over the course of my membership.I was stuck in my babies appointment longer than normal getting tests run and had to miss my scheduled appointment. The first time this has ever happened but they were more than willing and told me they would have to charge me and my account for the visit. I’ve been a member for almost 10 years and this is the first time this has ever happened.Even though they cancel on me before many times, the first time it happens to me in 10 years their franchise still needs their money of course. It was disappointing, they still were going to charge me either way so they took the hour massage off my account and had no issues at all charging me for a service that was never provided.I won’t be a customer here again.
It was okay. I came in with pain in my sciatic area but after I left I didnt feel much relief. They did give some very good suggestions but I felt like the massage could have been better. Sorry but its the truth.
Hello Relaxation. I have been to Massage Envy-East on several different occasions and have never been disappointed! Be sure to have someone drive you to your appointment and pick you up as you will be too relaxed to drive home!

Horrible service! I scheduled a massage for my wife in her birthday … was told it I cancel same day i had to pay 50% of the cost. The morning of they call me to say, sorry we have to cancel. Zero sympathy and absolutely no willingness to give any coupons for a future visit. So I pay 50% if something comes up but they could care less if they have to cancel. Ill never do business with these guys again.
Wow, great massage! Allen did a great job and was very intune to where your muscles have knots or soreness. I like more pressure and he did a good job applying the right amount of pressure without making it painful. Would highly recommend him.
Massage therapist was very professional, I asked for medium pressure, and pressure was ok, but then she found some knots on my upper back, that are always there... I waited it out, hoping she would move on, but after she continued to go back to the same spot, I finally said it hurt, she apologized and said that knot must be a lifer. I wish she would have used that kind of pressure on my feet and hands, but I could hardly feel when she rubbed those spots. All in all, I was mostly relaxed. An hour was only $50 plus I left a $15 tip. So for the price it was alright.
The massage therapist do a very good job, however - the way this place is ran is poor. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR MEMBERSHIP. I put a freeze on my account and they still withdrew money which made my situation a hardship. There manager wouldnt be in until Monday and there was nothing they could do until then which caused my bank to give me an overdraft fee and caused me more of a hardship. They arent organized and lost my file for the freeze on my account and I am very unhappt with this. I have massages on my account to use but will not be using them or going to this location for this reason. I will be using my lawyer to get out of my contract as well. VERY UNHAPPY.
Just wanna share my positive fabulous experience with one of the massage therapist name William I came with ton of upper upper back pain I ask for one hour deep tissue massage to be done today and let me tell you I left like a new person no pain feeling great And the front desk lady was very friendly And caring Over all I had fabulous experience No complaints whatsoever very happy:)

Last time I went here I didnt enjoy my massage. I asked for full body but an emphasis on my back and shoulders. She spent most of the time on my arms and legs. I dont enjoy having my limbs massaged. But I really didnt speak up which I should have. That being said, I gave 4 stars because of the miracle worker Kristine. I had a muscle spasm in back on Sunday. I went to urgent Care and they gave me a shot of toradol but the MD said I should think about a massage. After 3 days of my husband carrying me to the bathroom I called massage envy. I was really hoping for some serious help and I got it! The massage was painful but at the end the stiffness was almost gone! I can lift my feet up off the ground! I can do more than shuffle! I put my own pants on! Im pretty gratefull. When I got up to leave I saw her award on the table. She deserves it.
Worst massage I have ever had, therapist demanded that relaxation starts at the feet. Im really ticklish and have extremely soar muscles from breaking my neck and back 5 years ago. Dont waste your money or your hour!
My massage was quality but my masseuse talked through the whole massage and it took a bit away from the relaxation.
Ive gotten two massages at this location, and both therapists did a great job! The front desk workers are also helpful and welcoming.

Terribly bad customer service. Having been a member for more than a decade you would think they would treat customers kindly--especially long term customers. I usually go to the other location (West Vancouver), which is fantastic with excellent customer service and massage therapists. I was blown away by just how bad Reagan (Assistant Manager) and her staff were.

Never once did I have a decent massage and I tried three different therapists! I agree with a previous review; after my contract expired and I tried to stop it, they continued to charge me. They were not upfront about the terms of the contract either. Mea culpa. I should have read the fine print. Read the contract and use the massages within the time frame because they expire. I will never go there again.

Ive had mixed experiances, first massage from a few years ago was wonderful felt like puddy after...but the one i had two months ago left me sore for days like i had bruises on my back, there where several times it felt like she was barely trying and others that was too hard and lots of gaps of nothing
