Came here to see if someone had time just to look at my car the man at the front desk was extremely rude. Whined that everyone would be backed up because they can’t seem to hire any mechanics out of thousands of applicants that’s not my issue that’s the companies nor do I need to feel bad about asking for someone to look at a wiring issue possibly. Won’t come back here again if I ever need mechanical help. I didn’t have an attitude either the manager did should probably stop being mean to customers because you can’t hire enough mechanics and then continue when I try to walk out and say thanks anyway and continue to harp on me I didn’t do anything but ask a simple question don’t blow up on a potential customer…

The people at Freedom Tire always take care of me and my family. I was able to quickly get in, have my car fixed, and get back on the road faster than anticipated. Id recommend to anyone looking for great service and fair prices. Theyll look after you!

Update! Dont go here! I said I trusted them until they started using aftermarket parts that dont work on specific cars. They refuse to take responsibility for it even though it cost another $400 to get it repaired elsewhere that could only pay for the part used. Its the only thing their insurance will cover. You just lost yourselves a customer!

Extremely helpful, thoughtful- wasting no time to get me in & out - as I had my pet potato, a chi, waiting with me...although Im fairly sure that theyre just as efficient all the time, anyways. It was my 1st time and they answered all of my questions about future appts. They was able to settle my nerves (NOT an easy task!) Zero doubts in my mind that this is where Im sticking to

Got a new set of Goodyear tires bought online and was sent to Freedom Tire in Urbandale for installing. Got them installed and immediately had issues with the tire pressure readings. Contacted them about it, they just stop back in and they would get it taken care of. I called ahead because I live west of Adel. They said no problem just come on in. I get there find out there is no one there to fix the issue over lunch hour. Wait an hour to get it in. Almost an hour later and finally getting my vehicle back. Shop guy said didn’t know if they damaged it but one sensor was damaged. It was fine prior to me going there so they must have damaged sensor. But it looks like they have it fixed with no charge so that is good. Just used up a lot of my time.

I’ve been taking my vehicles here for over 25 years ever since I got my first car because my family took their cars there. They are honest and do an amazing job! They have reasonable rates and warranties (and I still do comparison shopping and they are still the best). Family owned businesses stay in business for a reason because they treat each customer like they are part of the family. Thanks for all you do!

Freedom Tire changed when it moved out of Johnson. From my experience, not for the better.Had my vehicle towed there in July when I experienced my car not starting. They did fix it up quickly the next day, a Saturday, diagnosing it as a bad battery. >$200 later, I was on my way. 6 days later, I am traveling out of town, (I-29) & suddenly I have all kinds of lights flashing ... short story: my alternator went out. Now I have to pay extra towing, rent a car, leave my car for several days, get back to pick it up. Lots of extra hassle, not to mention $$. Freedom Tire tells me this problem is completely random. They could not have known.Today I went in for my warranty tire rotation & balance. My TPMS light is also on, so I asked that they be sure to check tire pressure. (The light came on in August, a Discount Tire center checked pressure, filled, & light went off when I started car. )When the light was still on after the service at Freedom Tire, they told me it would go off as I drive the car. It was still on when I got back to work 10 minutes later. And all the way home from work. True, it might now be a bad sensor, but I wont be spending more money at FT to have it checked.They may be really good mechanics, but Ive been disappointed more than impressed.

Took my truck in to have 4 new tires put on. With that came, new valve stems and mount and balance. Im still very pleased with the job they did. When my truck was done, I waited there for it, they explained the warranty that came with my tires. Theyre Goodyear, so Im not sure if its just Goodyear tires or Freedom tires warranty. I can take my truck in every 5000 miles and they will rotate my tires for FREE, to minimize the wear on the tread!! This will be where I take my truck from now on!!

I was in the Des Moines area for a conference and had issues when I started my car in the morning. I Googled auto repair shops near me and saw Freedom was close and had great reviews. I drove my very limping car to them and was welcomed even without an appointment. Ron was able to fit it in to be looked at later that morning.Although the repair wasnt inexpensive, we were given detailed information on cost of parts and labor that were right in line with our local mechanics estimates. In addition to the ride to the conference (thanks Dave for the nice conversation and sweet ride) someone in the shop watered my flat of plants that I left in the car. I would totally recommend Freedom auto and use their services if I lived in the area!

The team at this Freedom Tire location performed only the necessary repairs I needed, after being over-quoted for unnecessary work in an estimate from the dealer. Dave is great to deal with, and is up-front and honest about costs and work being done. He saved me money in more ways than one. I also plan on getting my next set of tires here.

Found myself far from home with a rapidly deflating tire, impossible to remove anti-theft lug nuts, and a baby in the backseat. It was the end of the day and they were 100% booked, but the guys worked me in and saved the day. Tire was repaired in 30 minites and the mechanics were very honest and transparent about their work. Cant recommend enough!

I love the service, people and prices at Freedom Tire! They are always very helpful and friendly and dont try to sell me items for my vehicle that I dont need. I will continue to go to them for all of my vehicle tire and service needs. They are THE BEST! I recommend them almost daily to friends and family.

I bought a car through a private party that has always been serviced at Freedom. When I bought the car I could not get one of the rusty bolts off of the license plate. I called 2 dealerships (one of which I personally have purchased 2 cars and from where the car originally came) and they wanted me to set up an appointment and charge me $145/ hour to help me out. :(However Freedom worked me in right away and got the bolt off at gratis. It only took their technician about 10 min. I was extremely impressed with Freedom.

I have always trusted my car and my familys cars to them. The service manager Ron is knowledgeable and doesnt sell or try to find things that are broken just to make a buck. He tells you what is wrong and fixes it right the first time, everytime. My wife doesnt like taking the car to other mechanic shops because they treat her like shes stupid. Ron and the crew at freedom tire treat her with respect and dint take advantage of her.

Freedom Tire replaced rear hubs / front rotors on a 2001 Buick Regal - following service, the ABS trouble light was on, took it back and they refused to address it. Repair to ABS was done elsewhere at my expense - the damage was a direct result of careless work done at Freedom Tire. Fast forward to present.....recently took the car to a reputable service center near me for brake issues,,,severe shimmy and front end wobble on braking. Was told the front rotors were severely warped and had never been replaced previously. Apparently Freedom Tire had replaced the front brake pads and didnt touch the rotors although they did charge me for 2 new front rotors which was quite expensive. I would never take my car(s) to Freedom Tire as they appear to have lied, charged me for services not performed and were rude when I returned to have them inspect the work they (supposedly) performed.************************************************************Added in response to the business posting a reply to my reviewThe service was performed in 2008.

These guys were very professional and knowledgeable and were able to fit me in very quickly. The guys there are top notch!

I was disappointed with my service at Freedom Tire. They said it would cost $200 for a single brake caliper replacement part, but then I looked them up online and found you could purchase a brake caliper for about $40 or $50. I would recommend trying to find another automotive center if you wanted to save a little bit of money.

Got me in as quickly as they could, fixed the tire and had me on my way!!

I was disappointed. I wanted to buy new tires, but first had to get my spare wheel fixed so I could bring my car. The reception did not know what to do because this repair was not on their price list. They advised me to leave the spare and pick it up our hours later. This is not very helpful when dealing with an emergency. I went to Discount Tires on 86th and University and they fixed my spare in two minutes at no charge. Not only could they then sell me two new tires, but will have a new client for life. Business attitude in Iowa has a long way to go at some stores! Hans van Leeuwen

Went to these guys for about a year for a few minor repairs, oil changes, etc. Just about every time they told me about six other things were wrong with my car, also mostly minor. The last time I went in to get my fluids checked, they told me I needed to replace the radiator hose and intake gasket, in all costing over $1000. Decided to get a second opinion elsewhere before spending that money. The second place told me that the leak was very small and would be fine as long as I kept up with my regular oil changes and fluid checks.

Had an emergency blow out. The staff were very helpful and even put the spare on until a new tire came in. Great place!!!
