One of our service trucks broke down along the road with a bad transfer case. We called Mendocino Transmission to make sure they had room for our truck. The new owner John made room for us and was able to diagnose the problem, show us the issue and recommend a solution the next day. The transfer case had a catastrophic failure and needed to be replaced. While a remanufactured case was on order Mendocino Transmission serviced the transmission and both the front a rear differentials. The replacement transfer case arrived and was installed the same day. The price for all of the above, including the new transfer case, was less than a Jasper transfer case sitting in a box. Excellent service, great prices and very helpful staff. If you have a problem with your car or truck this is a great place to go.

I have noticed that these people do a fantastic job and charge a very fair and reasonable price for the quality work that they perform. I give Mendocino transmissions my endorsement. Jim

Under new ownership. Everything is different. They are just like the other snakes now. They dont tell you the truth.

Take this review with a grain of salt. The main employee who was handling my project was leaving the area so he acted like he didnt want to be there. They never gave me straight answers to my questions, and in the end there was a part they handled incorrectly and now it is not working. They did the main part of the job well however.If they have hired a replacement please ignore this review. But I would give them time to sort things out.Im a business owner myself so I know how bad reviews hurt. But this was not a good experience.

I brought my wife’s van in because I was getting a check engine light that pointed to the transmission, and the transmission would go into limp mode when that light came on. After checking it out he let me know that there’s nothing wrong with the transmission, and it was probably a faulty code, they reset the codes for me and sent me on my way without charging me for anything. Hard to find honest mechanics like that!

Guy at mendo trans is very knowledgeable, helpful, honest, and efficient. I would definitely recommend this shop for any of your transmission repairs or any other services they offer.

The staff was great, to eal people,and honest.Thats a rarety.

Helped get us back on the road, but took 2 days and was a lot more expensive than other quotes. But still did a good job.

I talked to other shops and Greg at Mendocino Transmissions took the time to explain what was going on with my truck & how to check it out properly & not just sell me something. Then gave me options of dealer, exchange or updating us rebuild H.D. for my needs. He built it and it works better than it did new. Ill tell my friends. THANK YOU GREG!!!!!

Excellent service!! Chris was Very knowledgeable about my truck and knew the best way to handle the problem. There was communication throughout the repair process, and the end result is like a new truck again!! I recommemd these guys 100%!!

They checked the codes on my truck and told me it wasnt a transmission problem that it was an engine problem and didnt charge me anything. If and when I need transmission work I will definitely go there...

We called regarding our bmw’s transmission and Chris seemed to have a lot of knowledge regarding vehicle mechanics. Would recommend people to take your vehicle at Mendocino transmission if you got any transmission issues.

Mendo transmission took two tries and several weeks to get the right transmission installed. Two years later it has already failed and needs to be rebuilt again. Do not recommend

Im actually really surprised this shop is not rated hire. Especially with the experiences Ive had with Greg. Had my Isuzu, and 94 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham serviced there. They did a really good job.

Take 10 mins to talk to them... youll see how lazy and how much care they lack just by talking to them. Sorry but if I wanted someone to do my work stoned Im not paying you 100 bucks an hour for you to stand around and think uuuuuhhhhh..?? Every hour for 10 mins. Then forget to put an important piece back into the transmission... and keep it for 2 weeks... Youve been warned

My Honda has been back to this place at least 8 times they cant seem to get it to last more then 2000 miles out of the transmission. I have paid 4000 dollors and they have had my car more then myself. I have also taken care of towing it back to the shop every time theres been a problem
