Awesome gym! And the young lady in the early morning is SO awesome!! She is super diligent in ensuring that the gym is clean and tidy for the patrons coming in at such an early time of the morning.Love this place!

Great gym!! Tons of great options for classes and equipment. Staff are all very nice and welcoming. New management will help in any way possible. Cleanliness and COVID protocol is well kept!! Definitely recommend this gym to any new people in town or visitors.

I am a Marine stationed here in 29 and I prefer coming to Total Fitness rather than facilities on base. They have quality equipment that is complimented with quality staff. Also, its not super packed all the time like some gyms during peak workout sessions so it’s a win-win!

Total Rip-off!!! Do not go to this gym. They will try to milk every dime out of you. My contract about to expired and so I canceled. I canceled 15 days in advance of the next billing cycle. They told me I have to cancel 30 days before. Which makes no sense, in California, you only pay for service rendered. This gym is own by the same Indian doctor family. So scandalous! How are you going to charge someone for a whole month of gym membership when they ask you to cancel 15 days before that month???

I once worked in a gym and I have belonged to gyms for about 40 years, all over the USA, so I have more than a little experience in this area.This Total Fitness facility is nothing short of superb. Staff are sharp and personable. The machines are new, ergonomic, and well maintained. The facility itself is spotlessly clean, spacious, and well laid out.Another thing that separates this gym from many others is that there are very reasonable short term memberships available. I am a visitor with family in this area and at first I thought Id only be here two weeks, so I paid for two weeks and worked out almost every day. Then my plans changed and I knew Id be here another month, so I paid for a month (at a lower per-day rate). Now it looks like I will be here another two weeks, so guess what? Right, Ive paid for another two weeks, after which I will be returning home.Thanks, Total Fitness, I had a blast and am going home in better shape than I left in!

Is it a good gym? Yes. But on what planet do you charge 40 a month with a year commitment? What gym even locks you in a year like that like a cell phone plan or something. Especially when you have mostly active duty military in the area that can be moved at any time. But even for a civilian thats outrageous. And if you only want to commit for say 3 months, which is a fair commitment for a gym, good luck paying 50 dollars a month and ALL the money up front. For a grand total of 150 dollars out of pocket. Only in twentynine palms can you get away with this. I know places in other areas of the US that have regulation pools, full basketball courts, racketball courts, crossfit areas, day care, and an indoor track all in one facility that charge 25 a month with no commitment. These people are money hungry and WILL NOT work with you at all. Beware.

Their gym is way overpriced. And will make you commit to a year contract which is ridiculous. They would do way more business if they werent so money hungry.

Let’s begin with the good. This gym has a wide variety of exercise equipment including tons of cardio machines and weight lifting machines. They have an Octagon and a Styku body scan machine neither of which I’ve ever had at any of my other gyms. So that’s a major plus. It’s clean for a gym and the staff is normally very friendly. Having said that, let’s get to the bad. When I say they’re normally friendly I mean until you need an attachment for the cable machine. They have some out and available to grab at any opportunity, the rest sits behind the booth for some reason and you have to flag down an employee (if there isn’t one behind the desk) and sign it out. I understand that people steal but come on! I think the membership fees should cover whatever goes missing. It’s an inconvenience for both the member and the employee. The other bad, might be good for some but not for me, is the lighting. It is very bright!! Gives me a headache almost every day. Other than that it’s a great gym, complete with a steam room and sauna in each bathroom.

Theyve been closed for almost the entire Covid-19 situation and have still been charging customers. They havent even answered their phones to cancel membership. They are just taking peoples money and not giving them the chance to cancel as well as not rendering services

Better then five star gym. Plus it is locally owned. Great staff, equipment, and the facility is spotless. Update, 5 19 18. I have rejoined 5 star gym just because Even though I Love total fitness better. The down side is if you come in on a wrong day, or time, quite common to see a line of five people waiting for a machine, or you feel like you need to hurry up so the next person can use the equipment your using. Plus the big factor. It only takes me 2 minutes to get to 5 star. Compared to 20 minutes drive time to total fitness.

This place was designed by a gym rat. Excellent place for a work out!! Steam room and sauna in both locker rooms. Each locker has a combination lock that you choose your own code. Various items for purchase with direct deduction from your card on file. Separate glass enclosed room for classes. A wonderful childrens play place with care givers supervising. Huge gym with Awsome set up. A cool weight lifting place with special floors and weights designed for heavy lifters, as well as the usual open floor free weights and machines. So much more, its too numerous to list!!!!!!

Pretty clean place. Only downside is the sauna doesnt get as hot as the ones on base. The Employee at the counter recommended that when you arrive, go turn it on so it preheats while you work out, so by the time you go in there its been on a while.

Everything a gym should be, never had any complaints about the staff, members, or facilities. And I really enjoy the sauna!

Gym is clean and machines are gret but to do cancel is a pain and even if its military related they still charge to cancel even though when you sign up they say it doesnt. Kind of ridiculous

I was there for a month and its a pretty great gym! Sometimes the staff are in the back so I had to stand up front for a while to get checked in, but they are a friendly group of people! Also, it can get pretty toasty in there and its always busy.

There is only two fitness centers I Twentynine Palms California. That I know of. Out of the two this one is the nicer of thr two.That being said it still is not that great compare to some of the really big ones In the bigger citys. But hey this is a small town and Eben though this place is not the greatest if you are looking for a gym in Twentynine Palms California this is the place to go.

Ive consulted with Savannah Wong (manager) regarding my billing issues via email as she never once returned a phone call from me. I signed up for a month to month contract with this gym and told the front desk that I dont want to be charged after April 2017 as i will not be in the area for long. They said i would not get charged after that first day payment. I later find out that they have been charging for 8 months on my credit card. Savannah Wong, who is the manager handling my case did not return my phone calls and sent her responses via email days later. The front desk does a poor job answering phone calls. I made 5 attempts on my last call before talking to someone. After 3 weeks of going no where with my refund, Savannah Wong stated that because they do not have any record of me giving notice, they cannot refund me. There is no reason for me to lie here. What reasonable person would think it is okay to bill a customer $60 for 8 months when they have record of me not checking into the gym and I gave proof that I was working in Washington state. Savannah Wong was not helpful and gave me the same response for the past 3 weeks dealing with this nonsense. This was very stressful especially during the holidays. They declined to give me the contact information of their owner. One of the front desk women said she cannot legally. They may be a successful business but this was the worst customer service Ive ever dealt with.

This is a well designed state of the art facility. With friendly staff and great hours. I have been a member of many gyms. This one is the best.

Staff here is always friendly. Very modern and clean gym. Lots of free weights along with many machines varying in muscle groups. Im not into CrossFit, but they have a CrossFit section that I thing has quite a bit of facilities that a CrossFitter would enjoy. They offer a good amount of group workouts and classes. They have a daycare withe a dedicated attendant for your children. Always very clean. The best gym in the area by far.

This would be the perfect place for me if I wasnt so lazy.

Want to workout and watch some Netflix to pass time? Go here where their cardio equipment has TV screens. Very clean facility. Steam rooms, sauna, and a ton of free classes throughout the week. The personal trainers are great. I have only worked with Mike (he is no longer there) and Kimmie (great motivator). Awesome staff. This place helped encourage me to get healthy and literally saved my life. Over 100 lbs down and still going. Thank you, Total Fitness.

Fantastic group classes and instructors! Plus childcare my kids love to go to. This gym is a gem in the High Desert.

My experince is terrible at first it was great until in a nutshell if youre on a fixed income if you dont appear like something that they want around youre going to be gone and then theyre going to play speed metal death metal and rap hardcore rap so theres children all around there and daycare and thats what you want your children to listen to him then by all means go there but I want to give her one star and I wont even change my mind

This place is a nightmare to cancel your membership. Not only can you not just cancel by waking in and turning in your fob, but you can’t do it by calling the number given. And they still charge you an extra month’s fee to do so even as a military service member on orders!

The facility is not senior. Friendly the music played is gangester rap and techno blast very inappropriate the. staff pretend to care but they dont.or they would not have to be reminded every day the music is too loud or can they change the music i would think twice before joining the facility is nice but thr atmosphere is really bad and it is difficult. to stay in the facility i get driven out a couple of times a week Over the.. music i am very disappointed in the lack of understanding or common sense i am 74-year-old i know what i am talking about very bad atmosphere
