We recently remodeled the lower level of our house with the help from Powers Design/Build.Items included in the remodel were – Added Half Bath, Added Utility Room, Removed three walls and two doors, Raised a sunken living area, Enlarged and fully remodeled the kitchen, and Updated the fireplace.For this type of undertaking, I was adamant that whoever managed the project have 1. A Plan, 2. A Pre-Defined Budget, and 3. A Reasonable and Realistic Timeline (I knew it couldn’t get done in two weeks).Having driven past the Powers Design/Build sign on Yale for many years, I decided to contact Bill. Bill was super enthusiastic and didn’t hesitate to explain the process, potential pricing, and the services he offers. Remember when I mentioned that I required the Plan/Budget/Timeline? Bill provided all three as part of his standard process – very professional. Some may not think this is a big deal, but if you have ever worked with a contractor who doesn’t have a plan, it can be very frustrating.All of Bill’s technicians/employees/craftsmen are top notch, clean, professional, and produce excellent work. Would use his services for a future project, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Powers Design/Build to others.

I highly recommend the excellent team at Powers Design and Build. They recently took a massively outdated, ugly kitchen that had not been updated since the 1950s down to the studs and made it beautiful! Bill, the owner, was on top of everything going on through the entire process and made sure it was done right, and Rick, our kitchen designer, came up with a fabulous layout that worked within our existing footprint. They hire quality subcontractors - special shout out to the plumbing guys at Omega and our drywall guy, Henry! - and hooked us up with Surfaces for an absolutely gorgeous unique countertop. We did go over budget a bit, but that was by choice - Bill made sure to pass on savings where possible.Bottom line, if you want a quality reno job done by LOCAL craftsmen and trades who arent going anywhere, Powers Design and Build is who you want to call!!!

I cannot say enough great things about this company. We have wanted to add on to our house for several years. I had several companies give estimates, some where very cheap but werent going to do things the right way (proper foundation), some were crazy expensive. We had just about given up on finding someone to build our addition when I saw Powers Design and Build on an internet google search. I almost didnt call them just because I was tired of the search and had almost given up. I cannot tell you how glad I am that I did! Bill was so nice, so professional, on time always from start to finish. The beginning estimate he gave us for our room add on was within $1700.00 of our finished room. The time frame he gave us for the room to be completed in was on time, in fact about a week ahead of schedule. He makes you feel like and old friend. He came by regularly to check on the room and progress. We had a couple of issues come up, not him but just normal things that happen and he was quick to resolve them. We lived in our home during the remodel/addition and it was pretty painless, better than I had expected it to be. The workers Storm and Cody, I cannot say enough nice things about them. The nicest, cleanest guys & they do the best work. They are perfectionist and I loved it. Bill hires all the best and does things the right way. He answers your calls and text the same day and I text him a lot! He is just the best. I really still cant believe how great the experience was, because I kept waiting for something to happen and it didnt. We absolutely love our new room and everyone that has seen it does too. It was better than we envisioned. I love it so much I thinking maybe I need to remodel the kitchen now too! Thank you so much Bill, Storm and Cody. You all are the best!!

We contracted Powers Design & Build for 2 of our remodeling phases. After obtaining several quotes for our renovation, we contracted with Powers because he was the most responsive to our ideas as well as the most knowledgeable and professional contractor. His team is always on time, prepared, communicative and skilled. We greatly enjoyed our experiences working with Bill and his crew! Looking forward to Phase 3!

Powers D&B provided very good service. At the top of my list is responsiveness and easy access via email and phone. PD&B was excellent in this regard. If I sent a question via email, I usually had an answer within 30 min. Also, our complete condo remodel turned out just as we had imagined and within the promised time frame so we were very satisfied with the end result. Also, at the time of our remodel, we werent sure how long we would live in this condo, so we wanted to keep our costs reasonable and PD&B helped us accomplish this. I have recommended PD&B to friends and other residents in our building.

I was so happy with the service I received from Bill Powers that, even though I went with a different firm, I wanted to post this review. Mr. Powers quoted a kitchen redesign for a modest house. His attention to detail, his eye for design and ability to explain the processes and features was incredible. Highly recommend.
