I cannot understand why anyone would not give this 5 stars. They have worked on my bmw 3 times now and they are always fast and reasonable on cost. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else! Jim is GREAT!
Very helpful its a very Ma&Pa establishment but every efficient they fixed my radiator and a really decent price thanks Oil Capital and Staff
I was recommended oil cap from a good friend and shade tree mechanic. He warned me that these guys are real okies; dirty and cheap, but solid workers with a good ethic. Those salt of the earth type people are some of favorites, so of course I went to check it out!At first I thought the place had gone out of business; the old sign in front looked like itd been hanging there since the 50s and was in very poor condition. The street facing buildings windows were dirty to the point of almost being opaque. The trash inside with its layers of dust indicated nobody had been inside for quite some time.I had taken the alley between the buildings in an effort to turn around when I saw a second sign for the business. It indicated that the tiny house to my right was the business. Tall grass and four cars of seemingly random makes and models packed the yard, yet for a business, no one seemed to be working on anything. Maybe it was the lunch break, but the gait of man who met me at the door had the reluctance of someone who had been sitting for a while. We walked over to my 96 Nissan pickup and explained the situation. The fellow nodded and said hed have to order the replacement part. I explained that the radiator was old; Id rather replace it than patch it and that the price for a new one was relatively cheap ($90) and had ready availability at almost any store. The man nodded and said, Ill do it for $100.Naturally I asked for clarification for a too-good-to-be-true price. He said,You go get the part and Ill install it for $100.Ridiculous.I offered $50; the vehicle was older and easy to work on and the job shouldnt take more than an hour for me to do, much less time for a professional. He only shook his head.I looked at him, the busted up old house with the CASH ONLY sign, and told him Id take my chances.Later that night, my buddy and I (who are not mechanics in the slightest) managed to install a new radiator in less than 1.5 hours. We could have done it in 45 min if we hadnt had to pack and unpack tools, carry water in buckets, fetch the truck, and/or actually seen what we were doing. All in all, these people are shady as all get out. They wanted to screw me out my hard earned money. Replacing radiators is surprisingly easy; Id recommend doing the job yourself or at least going to someplace not so ridiculous.
Quality work, affordable price. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable.
Horrible I will be seeing these guys in court didnt even fix what I paid for and left my car in worse condition.. the next day I took it to dealer and they said they messed my car up and all they did was check there work ... thanks oil capital!!!
One star is too many. This dude is a tweaker that messed my truck up worse than it was. He uses salvaged parts that are no good. He broke pieces and didnt even tell me. Nor did he even offer to help cover the cost of the parts he broke.
Best mechanic out here.
Place is run down. Guy is working out of some abandoned house is what it looks like. Was a bit pushy and didnt really listen to what I wanted done.
I spent $300 went back 3 times to get my radiator leak fixed,he finally said the reason it leaked was a blown head gasket and wasnt covered by manufacture. I did a compression test and had 120lbs in every cylinder. On further inspection this guy is a crook and a thief, he never charged the radiator period. He changed me for nothing. TOTAL RIPOFF ARTIST STAY AWAY!!
Good honest people
