Equipment generally in poor condition, staff is useless. They wont let you cancel your membership unless youre there in person. Been trying to cancel for a year now and finally they gave an email address to cancel via email. Person is unresponsive and when they finally do, after they charge you, they respond with a 30 day notice to terminate....meaning they try to charge you for an extra month.Shady business practices and they just overall suck.
Mediocre gym but the worst thing is the owners are super super pushy with memberships. And when they closed their other location down they didn’t let anyone know and transferred/sold all of our memberships without our consent to a new gym which was an hassle to undo. Poor exploitive business practices.
If I could give this scam zero stars I would. I went in In-person to cancel my no contract membership. I was told that this had been completed and that I would no longer be charged. For a short amount of time the had stopped, but then they began charging again. When I called and told them what had happened, they said there was nothing they could do and that I still needed to pay. I was told to come in again and cancel my membership. UH, I ALREADY DID?! This place is an absolute scam that will find any way to bleed you of your money. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE HAS HELPED OR WILL HELP ME AND THEY WILL DO THE SAME TO YOU TOO. JUST A TRASH COMPANY ALL AROUND. 0/10 ALL THAT GLITTERS IS DEFINITELY NOT GOLD.

Called to update a card and apparently they only updated mine and not my sons who was on my account... that i was paying for...subsequently seNt his account to collections! Hes 17!!! I have been a member off and on for nearly 10 years. When the speedway location closed I was disappointed as I preferred that location. What I did not know at the time was that the company decided to delete my paid in full membership with at least 6 months still on it at that time. So the manager at this location has screamed at my husband and I, threatened us, deleted my membership, won’t let him in to cancel his, and actively stolen over $100 from us via those avenues.

Terrible customer service from I believe the owner but an older gentleman here. I was told to come in for a 7 day free pass to try out the gym and once I got there I was told I needed to be an Arizona resident. I’m here for government work and still that did nothing in his eyes. Thanks for wasting my time.
Platinum Fitness is my favorite gym in Tucson by far! I have been a member for over 18 years and never plan to switch! Its not just the gym I love. Its the REAL people who also workout there. Its the local sense of community I appreciate most. Many of my best friends today, I met at Platinum Fitness. Ill admit... I decided about 10 years ago to try a different gym in town... nope! After about 6 months, I immediately switched back! The other gym (I wont name names) felt like a stuffy fashion show or a social hour, meat market. I felt like I had to have fancy, matching attire to fit in. No thank you, not my scene. Its nice to go where everybody knows your name, and are there to actually workout. Thank you so much Platinum Fitness for being my Tucson Home Gym! I love and appreciate you!! Keep up the good work.
Worst gym experience ever. Front desk staff were really rude and discriminated against me. Don’t go here, Ericka told me she is refusing my business because I am a veteran. All of the personal trainers from the speedway location are stuck up and think they own the gym. Spend your money elsewhere. Oh and Ericka is cheating on her husband whom she has three children with, with one of the members:)
Love this gym! I love all of the trainers! They are all very welcoming, positive, kind people, but Carol is a treasure. She is extremely attentive in the classes that she teaches and she, above a lot of other things, is why I refuse to go workout anywhere else. She is truely passionate about what she does and it shows! I also appreciate the ladies in the childcare facility. They are all so sweet which makes it easy to leave our babies in their care and they keep it very clean considering the amount of kids that are in and out of there all day.
I am Burt Powell and i want to tell my story.I started going to the gym Apr 2018 and i was in sad shape.i weight 222, now 199my fat was 33.6 now 29.9blood pressure 149/78 now 119/59My attitude was on the neg. side now i think i am okay.How this happened was that i meet this young girl manager that worked for the gym on golf links and she told me i should get a trainer. I did and the progress started to improve.My wife ask me why do i need to go to the gym?1. Everyone there is working out. Good Environment.2. Good equipment.3. Everyone there is willing to help and they all smile.I am 84 and NOW old men are fifteen years older than me.

Ive been a member of a few different gyms in Tucson and the Platinum Fitness on Golflinks is BY FAR my favorite. Always clean, lots of equipment, lots of classes, and the Personal Trainers are the most helpful of all the gyms in town. Eric is my personal trainer and has helped bring changes to my physical AND mental health. 10/10 recommend.

I started going to this gym over a year ago. I love pretty much everything about it. Their staff is wonderful and the facility and equipment is great. Ive been getting personal training every week for a few months now with Harli, and I can really tell a difference. I feel more confident in my work outs, and never feel like Im being judged by the other members. Everyone is really friendly.
I have always enjoyed working out here. The equipment suits my needs, the facility is clean, the staff is friendly and the membership fee is reasonable. I would also recommend Harli as a personal trainer. She has helped me so much with ensuring Im doing the right exercises to reach my goals and always very helpful anytime I have questions or need advice with what I should or should not be doing. Overall, I highly recommend Platinum Fitness.
If there going to change the business hours and not the open when they should be they should post that online or at least have somebody answer the phone to tell us that or maybe even hang a sign on the door

The Gym is great if your there to workout they have the machines and weights to use.My issue is I signed up for a personal trainer. After leaving the gym, I thought about the new membership I signed up for it was going to be to expensive for me. I went back to Platinum Fitness and told them I was going to cancel the personal trainer. I signed the cancellation paperwork . Mind you I have not had a single session with a trainer. The manager said it will be taken care of . Four days late on Friday I had over $240 dollars taken from my account, I went back to Platinum on the following Monday. I was told the refund process takes 3 days to process, here it is Friday, I should have had my money back yesterday. I called them again told them what had happened. The guy on the phone sounded irritated. Unless he just ran ten miles he sounded upset helping me. Maybe it was his commission. So now I am waiting for a call from a manager to tell me why I have not got my money back. My Suggestion is to ask a lot of questions about canceling the account and any fees that may apply.
I have been a member for a few years now. I love this gym. Great staff! Anna always has smile for you when she scans you in. A great verity of class, and great trainers. Plus I can tan their too! I get a ton of support.
I have been going to this gym since September and am really glad I joined. I have been working with John (personal trainer) and he is awesome! He keeps me motivated! I like that he will stop and check on me even when we dont have a session. The staff I come in contact with are very friendly and even know me by name!
I joined Platinum Fitness a while back. I have been a member in the past at two other fitness centers. So I am not a stranger to the gym. In my estimation:The center is in a convenient location, easy to enter and exit the parking lot.The trainers are very good and the staff is friendlyThe locker room is immaculateThe gym equipment and floor are always cleanThe ventilation is extremely good.For all these reasons I would give Platinum Fitness a 5 rating.Thank you for running this center.

This is the first gym that has made me feel like Im part of a family. I hated gyms before Platinum Fitness. Harli Street has been the most amazing trainer that I could have ever hoped for. Clean, updated facilities, and knowledgeable, helpful staff.. what else could you hope for in a gym?
I am not the biggest fan of this location. I have never met the manager (that I know of), there is a limited amount of equipment, and the staff are not very helpful. They do not seem to make themselves available, and they can usually be seen around the front desk, chatting with each other. I prefer the Speedway location.
Love going to this gym, the staff is helpful and friendly, people are pretty courteous, and they really seem to care about helping you reach your goals. Got 2 free hour long sessions with my trainer Jon Pinelli, and they convinced me to keep seeing him because I really felt like I was getting something out of it. I love this gym, and would recommend to anyone looking to reach their fitness goals.

Called to inquire. Needed my name and phone number before willing to talk. Then after informing monthly fees, they cant give enrollment fee over the phone, need to schedule an appointment. To me this is very sleazy.. LA fitness right down the street was way better.
The Platinum staff is amazing! Friendly and motivational, they always greet you when they see you and give you encouragement.The atmosphere at Platinum is more fun and laid back than those membership factories like LA or Chuz Fitness. Gyms fine. Their billing is system is seriously flawed. When you sign up theres a yearly fee, which is fine. But if you sign up for anything else like crossfit, personal training, etc. They add another yearly fee 2 months later. Then if you stop crossfit, personal training etc, because its a change they charge you another yearly fee 2 months later. So weve paid 4 yearly fees per membership so far this year to the tune of $240 extra for our 2 memberships. Either they are unaware this happens or they fleece their members on purpose.
Ive been going to this gym for about six years. I have no complaints. The staff is always friendly. Locker room is always clean. Upbeat atmosphere. Theyre pretty quick to fix any equipment issues. Ok, I guess there is one complaint... They allow folks to drop weights. Its loud and obnoxious and kissed. Clearly the weight is greater than the lifter can take, so quit trying to show off. No one is impressed.
I have been a member for about a year my husband for many years. I went in this morning 4/27 with a friend who was interested in trying Platinum out for a possible membership and the guy at the front desk charged me to bring in a guest. I asked for the free 7 day pass and he refused said it cost. So I paid for her but on the way out I asked a trainer for a pass and she gave me several. Im not very happy with your front desk person for the rude treatment. He charged my account there to bring in a possible new client!? What? I love your gym but you might want to talk to the red headed guy who was covering your front desk Saturday morning.
Love this gym! The equipment is always clean, there are tons of free weights, and the cardio movie room is always on! Harli Street is my favorite personal trainer/nutrition specialist, even though I might be a little biased ;) She always keeps me motivated and continually helps me strive for the best version of myself.
I cant even describe how much I love this place. The staff are incredibly encouraging, the equipment is up to date and is in great shape, and is just a welcoming community all together. I highly recommend this gym!

We love this fitness center. People as so helpful and always ready to assist. If you find a machine that is not functioning they jump on it right away.They have people cleaning constantly. They are very cognizant of cleanliness. We go at different times of day and there is always someone cleaning. Way to go!!!Greeting you by name upon coming in... !Their customer service is excellent. I joined in July under a $1 membership fee, no contract, and $19.99 monthly fee after having vowed several years ago that I would never join another gym. And lo and behold, I should have listened to myself and NOT joined another gym. In July, I started getting text messages that my card was declined for payment. After three phone calls it was determined they entered the wrong expiration date. Im pretty sure NO bank is issuing cards to expire in 3021 versus 1020. The next day I see not just my 19.99 monthly fee but two additional charges that total in excess of $70.00. Let me tell you that if this ever happens to you only Jessica the apparently almost non-existent entity can help you. I went in and cancelled my membership. I asked for a printed copy of of my contract. Only the apparition that is named Jessica had access to this. I finally reached the more than slightly skittish in appearance Jessica, but only by phone. I was informed that she tried to come up with a way to make the math work but cant to find a way to make those charges work. She promised to refund the monthly fee plus the charges she couldnt figure out how to make work since I cancelled my membership. Ive yet to see the funds in a now two week period. Fortunately, I have an outstanding financial institution (USAA) and theyve blocked any and all activity from Platinum (Scammin) Fitness and returned the funds. My friend tells me Im the third person shes spoken to where theres something hinky going on with their money.
I switched to Platinum Fitness about 5 months ago. I am so glad I did. I am working with Jon (trainer) and he has been pushing me and keeping me motivated. Checks in on me whenever hes there, answers any questions and shows me how to use a lot of the equipment I was intimidated by. Everybody here is great! Keep it up
My husband got a membership for Platinum which was not 9.95 a month since he didnt want to sign a contract and pay 100.00 for a sign up fee.He enjoyed it for a time but in September 2012 wanted to cancel his membership. He went in and canceled and thought that it was done since there was no contract. Every single month since then we were charged off our credit card. He went back in the building and conveniently there was never anyone available to cancel his membership or talk to about it.I have been calling trying to take care of it since January with no success. Then again in March where they said that they were putting a note in his file but he once again had to come in.Didnt get canceled till May (which we got charged for) Hopefully they dont charge me for June.
I like platinum fitness because the friendly staff, coaches, and trainers like Jessica Petit, Haley, and stephenie lane are encouraging and sociable. I find those features for me to keep coming back to this gym. The members that come to this gym are also genuine and that helps motivate me to improve.
This location is very convenient for me on the east side. The red head at the front desk is really nice and is always cleaning the desks which is nice to see
I’ve been going to Platinum Fitness for several years. I really love their StudioFit classes- it’s about an hour long HIIT workout. The instructors are great & keep me motivated! (Thanks to Hailey, Stephanie, Carol & Karey!) It’s always a different workout so you don’t get bored. 😊
A good gymBut if you want to cancel you have to jump through hoops and the run around. I live 45 mins away from the gym and in order to cancel have to go in person to cancel. That is a waste of gas and time. My brother in law was able to cancel over the phone and confirm in person. When we explained that they essentially called him liar. I will definitely be telling friends and family about this experience.

Ive worked out at many other gyms in the past. This specific gym location got a bad review from me for a few reasons. The monthly dues are more than most gyms in the city . I cant tell you how many times I went to go grab a paper towel and they were out. The disinfect bottles work kept on the ground, they couldnt even install cheap holders for them . So even though they charge more money for monthly fees they close earlier then all the other locations .I only worked out here because of convenience, its a block away. Nothing outstanding that you cant find anywhere else. Honest review sorry, but Im not going to keep paying that much money to be dissatisfied
Great gym! Very clean, lots of weights and equipment, the movie theater room is the bomb. Harli Street is my trainer and shes the best one there by far. Ive worked with a few of the other trainers there and theyre all garbage. (Very pushy, and obviously focused on the sale) Harlis professionalism and knowledge is way above her pay grade. Harli hooked myself and my family up with suppliments that changed our lives, the difference is incredible. GIVE THAT GIRL A RAISE AND GO TO HARLI!!!!
I have been an active member of this location for over 2 years and I have seen alot of trainers but one that definitely stands out is Jon. He is a trainer at this location and is wonderful. Jon has clients of all age groups and I have witnessed all of them walk out with a smile. Jon always ensure safety as well as providing his knowledge to his cliental. Jon is a trainer that focuses on your goals and always answers any and all questions that the individual may have. I have also witnessed Jon explaining the method behind the exercises as well as proper demonstration. Not only does he help out his clients to the fullest but any member in the gym including myself. I highly recommend Jon to anyone that is trying to achieve their fitness goals.
Have been going here since it opened and I have no complaints. The childcare staff is awesome. My children love to go there. I really dont talk to the staff. Some of the equipment is getting old, and needs to be replaced. The price is great but I have noticed we are getting a lot of young HS students that text more and take up space on the equipment. But for that price as a single mom with three I can be able to have my down time at the gym and know my kids are safe.
Im wondering whose writing most of this crap as rude people in the Golf links east location doesnt happen. Remember everyone has a boss, deal with the corporate office if you have a billing problem. As for as old equipment some machines go down for wear and need new cables. This is the newest location. I lift I dont see a problem that any other gym doesnt encounter. I also take some of the classes the instructors are great especially Mary or Shannon!

I am currently a member at LA Fitness and decided to check out Platinum since I have to pass it to get to my club. I was told I couldnt have a tour without giving my full contact information because it was company policy. I had heard mostly negative feedback about this club but thought Id see for myself. When I questioned this policy no effort was made to accommodate or even explain, I was told liability however that would require nothing more than a single signature release. I told Michael, who the girl with the nose ring at the front desk referred me to, that Id just stay at LA Fitness and his reply was Have a good time. Thank you Michael I will! I wondered why the club with the lower price had so few cars in the lot, I understand now.
If youve got a Platinum Membership youre better off canceling it and paying that extra 10$ for LA Fitness instead. Because I checked my account recently and they have been double billing me each month and I immediately went to cancel my membership there. When they asked me why, I told them they are charging me twice per month and they thought I was lying and accused me of having used my card to pay for another persons membership. I demanded a refund for those extra charges and they were reluctant to give me a refund until they found out that they were the ones who made a mistake and made TWO accounts under my name the day I signed up. Its so stupid, this gym has poor customer service, lack of basic skills to properly help someone sign up and act as if the mistake was no big deal. Bad character. Dont stay with a gym that does not try to fix their own problems and arent trustworthy. The manager who first signed me up his name was John, he should already be fired because Ill bet on it that hed be making the same mistake with many other customers eager to sign up. The person named Jackie M. who was helping me cancel my account gave an attitude and did not seem to care. They dont care about your well being or health they just want your money.
They were very helpful and evening when I decided to surrender my account they were more than happy with assisting. They had no cancelation fee and were easy to work with. If I decide to get a gym membership in the future, more than likely Im coming back here!
Love how they post a promo-rate at their entrance that doesnt reflect what they charge you only to do the typically crap like telling you to cancel your membership in person only to charge you later at a higher rate. Platinum Fitness gouges their members. I was a member for 3 years and because of a confusion with my automatic payment they canceled my membership. No letter, no phone call, I walked in for class and was told my membership was canceled. I was paying a fair $29 a month, and instead of helping me, they slapped me. They lack the customer service attitude to be able to help me continue my membership, and instead demand that I rejoin the club. This costs 94$ and is at a new rate of $34 per month. Of course they fired me, they want me to rejoin at the higher rate.Avoid Platinum Fitness. They dont care about you, they only care about your money.I am really in a bind, the exercise instructors are great, and Body Pump has been my 3 day a week salvation. But I have such distain for the business.Parking limos in choice spots for advertising?Taking away exercise space for higher gain physical therapy rooms?Broken racks for weights?Filthy exercise mats?Filthy exercise floor?Shower curtains from the Dollar Store?Dont be fooled, they care more about their bottom line than your health. This would be fine if they didnt entice you with the semblance of caring about your fitness.

Gyms good, equipment is decent. Has a good crowd, and even though it isnt as immaculate as an LA fitness, at least the staff isnt douchey. Ive been to gyms where personal trainers will bug you while youre doing your workout. I like how they have new mats and optimized the area where you can stretch.Cons: they dont have weighted straight bars. It sucks that theres a fitness room (notes the cross fit room) thats blocked off from regular members . They have equip in there that I think regular members would appreciate using. Ex. Sometimes theres only one physio ball out in the main gym, and 5 in the fitness room.
Platinum is a dope gym! They got everything I need, the staff is really nice and helpful and jessica at the desk is very funny and sweet.
The downtown Platinum gym is a big disappointment. This was the case when it was Golds, and even so more than ever. The equipment is old and isnt well maintained. The steam room is almost always out of order and no one seems to know when anything will be fixed. The only reason I go to this gym is because I live downtown and there arent any other real alternatives. The staff are focused on texting than keeping the place clean. Once someone opens a decent gym downtown that can compete with Platinum, it is curtains for this place.
Downtown Gym is disgusting! The equipment is not up to date, all the barbells are looooose, and you cant get a lazy staff member to fix it, because they are to busy eating behind the desk, so unprofessional. The mirrors are cracked, you figured they would replace it, but instead the staff takes it upon themselves to make a quick fix with tape,and put a sign to watch out and just leave it there for months. Its even a surprise when the towel dispenser is full in the workout area. This gym is a wreck, it never used to be like this when it was run by Golds Gym. Dont bother coming to this gym, unless you want to workout with lose dumbbells in a filthy environment. Youll leave more frustrated than how you came in. Your welcome..

They said it was month to month no contract. When I went to cancel the said I had to come fill out paperwork which I did. They said I was good 6 months later I got a call from a collection agency they had placed me for collections for $180.00. They said there is a time commitment but its not a contract. Wow, that is a funny way of having a contract and calling it something else. A horse by any other name is a horse. They refused to bug about it and have negatively effected my credit score. It has also happened to a few other people I know. Disgusting business practices!
This is a great gym! I was a little intimidated by the equipment, but my trainer Jon took his time and showed me the ropes! The staff is friendly and answer any questions I have.

If I could give a negative star rating, I would. I have been a member for 15 plus years and the reason I joined the gym was for their amazing Spin classes. Over the past year, new management has cut back on convenient classes and even demolished the cycling room at the Golf Links gym, which is so clean and the environment was great. We have had issues with the maintenance of the cycles that were ignored until they started breaking down, leaving limited attendance for such classes. Members had to go back to the Speedway gym for cycle classes, which is dirty and parking is limited. Most recent, I have come to find out that management is now trying to replace the old cycles and have closed the classes at the Speedway gym until they figure it out, with no estimation of when this will happen. Its surprising to me that the whole reason I joined the gym is now not an option on my side of town. Disappointing that management doesnt understand the wants of customers, therefore Im canceling my membership and moving to another gym that has the options for me as a consumer. The instructors at the gym are awesome, too bad they cant teach anymore on the eastside of town with this business.

Actually should be a NEGATIVE STAR!! I was checking out different facilities for a gym to join. They would Not give me a tour of thier facilities without my giving them my drivers license and signing papers! I refuse to hand over my license and they insisted it was policy, but didnt know why. The member sign up person also had little knowelge about Silver Sneakers. I left, went to LA Fitness just down the street. They gave me a wonderful tour, no ID required!!!! They answered all my Silver Sneakers questions and were very pleasent. I signed up with them immediately - same price with better facilities, have a pool, etc. Yep, first impressions count!
I have been a member for years and have tolerated gyms that are run down and smell horribly like the Speedway location to equipment that is not repaired or maintained such as the spin bikes. Where one location gets new bikes the other locations have to deal with broken bikes and not being able to fill spin and RPM classes due to the broken bikes. Then Corp. blaming instructors for falling numbers..... all that has been tolerated by all the members now Corp has decided to stop all spin and rpm classes at the Golf Links location to make an increase to the child care area, not that I have a problem with this there has to be a better solution than removing a whole set of classes. You can never get an response to a contact me email and when you request to cancel there is no retention effort ... so run down equipment and facilities along with piss poor customer service im outta there and not looking back
I was a member of Golds gym from 12/2007 until they became Platinum Fitness in mid 2012 at which time I had to sign a new agreement, which was NOT a contract, cancelable at any time. I canceled a person who was an add-on to my membership in September 2012 and was told my credit card would not be charged for her again. However, I have been charged every month since then. I was told in February 2013 that I would have to sign a form to cancel her from my membership, which I did. I have been charged again, in march 2013, for this person who has been inactive for 6 months. Called credit card charging agent, talking to a Margaret, who told me that they would continue to charge my card every month, even without my authorization. Federal Law calls that Racketeering and is prohibited under the famous RICO laws. Then she hung up on me. Called my club and the girl at the desk said my records noted showed the person to be inactive but could provide no other information.This club is filthy. Last year, the mens suana was closed without explanation for 7 months before it was put back in service. The bathing suit spinner in the mens locker room has been broken for 4 years, despite many complaints from myself and other members, it has not been fixed and we have been told that since a member broke it, It will not be fixed. The pools temp is erratic, usually too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer, even though it is indoors in the basement.With 5 other less expensive clubs in the area, I stay at this club ONLY for the wet steam due to an injury to my back. Unless you need wet stem, I recommend you do NOT join this health club.
Great place to work out ND not feel like a meat market. Staff is always friendly

I THINK the les mills class are great, many new classes to choose from, new instructors, I feel I get out of it what I put ink, variety: enthusiasm and FUN !!!

Great amazing gym! Harli Street is a superb trainer who is a subject matter expert as well as a exceptional nutritionist!
Low monthly rates BUT $70 annual fee, $50 cancelation fee when moving out of tucson and must show proof of move, rude staff (manager is polite), tons of stipulations and fine print that are not discussed when signing. Youre better off going to LA fitness just to save yourself the headache. Oh and the row machines are a disappointment.
Staff was generally unhelpful, uninterested, and uncaring. Equipment was not in good shape and did not get taken care of. Location was dirty and looked like it did not get cleaned. Then came the saga of trying to cancel my membership. Could not find any help on-line: no contact information, no cancellation procedure, no e-mail. Call the gym and get told to call corporate. Had to ask for number. Call corporate and get told I need to write a letter. Ask why cannot I simply cancel over the phone. Say it is against company policy. Wrote the letter and a month later a new charge appears. Appears the only way to get charges stopped is to physically go in to a location.Bottom line: Wished I had never joined.

Honestly for the price it’s “eh” for a little gym, they make showers difficult for you to use the water, the other rooms require you to put out a lot of money, other than that its a OK gym to go to.
I have enjoyed the gym for the time I had been able to work out. But have been very frustrated with the billing. I have had an issue with being billed when I am not supposed to be, being over-billed and even now since having to put a freeze on my account, have been billed incorrectly. To there credit, every month I have needed to call, they tend to the situation, but having to call every month and then wait for refunds has become tedious. I was also disappointed with the free trainer consultation. I was hoping it actually was a free training session, but frankly it was just a high pressure sales appointment to sell training packages. The gentleman was nice, but selling tactics were too harsh. An actual session would have been more influential to me personally rather than saying the things he was saying. With the continued billing problems, I will probably just bite the bullet and pay out of my non contract and go back to my old gym.
Everything is very very very professional and excellent. My trainer Harli not only helped me get into a excellent fitness program, she literally helped me get my life back!
