Clean, welcoming environment with very polite and sociable staff.I got a most righteous beard trim that is exactly what I wanted. The barber plied his craft to great effect, despite my not being able to precisely articulate the desired outcome.The store dog, Dusty, is a sweetheart. I highly recommend belly-rubs, if hes willing.

What a throwback to the past, where Barbers dress up and they play retro music. Family owned business. Very comfortable seating to wait for your cut. Johnny is a true pro and the hot towels are so relaxing.

This is not the place to get your hair cut. First I called to see if they are cash only they say oh no we take credit cards no problem. They didn’t mention they tack on an 8% fee for credit card and the only sign mentioning it is tiny at the front counter. This is dishonest and should be made clear when you ask another payment. The hair cut I got was terrible, uneven, random lines of short hair right in the front. Shop was unprofessional and loudly complaining and swearing about the employees at the shop next door and every other barber in Troy. If you would like to spend almost 30 dollars to ensure you need a second haircut this is the place to go .

Ill be honest Ive been to a fair share of shops in my life. But never have I been to one where the gentleman whos cutting my hair takes my coat hangs it up and never have I been to a place that is so hospitable overall he is a phenomenal Barber and is a very respectful gentleman it was a pleasure to have my haircut there and had a wonderful conversation which seems to be rare these days. This place is a must try

I was looking for a barber after moving to the area and found Flippers through Google. I called to make an appointment and was greeted upon arrival by the shop dog, Dusty. Johnny was great, the haircut was phenomenal and will definitely be back.

RPI student that’s new in the area. I’ve never been to a more professional barber shop than Flippers. I got the haircut exactly how I wanted. Very friendly conversation while I was getting my haircut. They even hung up my coat for me! Very clean property and friendly staff there overall. Staffs are also dressed formally. I was also offered a cologne of my choice at the end of the cut (2 sprays on each wrist). My cut was $25, I paid using credit card which I had to pay $2 fee I believe?! And left them $8 tip which adds up to $35. After paying, they even opened the door for me on my way out. 10/10 would recommend!

Walked into here without an appointment, and Johnny gladly took me in right away. Great conversations, and one of the best haircuts Ive ever got, he offered me a huge variety of different colones after the cut was finished and made me feel great. Johnny is one of the most stand up guys around. If you want a 5 star haircut given by a grade A guy, go to flippers. And if thats not enough of a reason, the shop dog dusty promises to give you a bath with his kisses every visit

Highly recommended. Stopped in for a quick cut before a wedding. Johnny was incredibly professional and nice. Probably one of my favorite haircuts in a long time. He only takes cash which I did not know but was very kind when I told him I needed to wait for my wife to arrive because my card did not work in the ATM next door. Will be going back very soon.

Walked in and got a great haircut! Johnny was very hospitable and pays great attention to detail. When I arrived I looked like I had been living in the woods for several month and once I left I felt like a respectable member of civilization. As I walked back to my car random people on the street smiled at me and said good day. One man came up to shake my hand. It all seemed surreal but I suppose a good haircut can go a long way.

Most European-style place Ive ever gotten a cut in NY. These guys know their cuts and are experts in the craft. They take your coat at the door, offer you complimentary coffee and water, and even have some vintage video games to play while killing time. I can not recommend this place more, but as it has been getting busier and busier, I highly recommend making a reservation. Walk-ins are doable, 100%, but a reservation is in my near future.

Johnny is a magician. He loves what he does and you can feel and see it. I live 3 hours away in Vermont and stop by anytime I am able to make it to the area. There is no better barber, no better cut and no better shop period.
