Great little computer store, Im from down state, and its cheaper then micro center for upgrades to a PC. Done by the date promised, everything works With no issues. Good communication, phone calls and kept me up to date every step of the way. If I where to say something, the employees didnt have on masks around customers 3/2/21, still part of covid.

Cory essentially gave me a private class on the phone. I am over 65 and missed out on things like syncing, how some passwords are the same (of which I was clueless [& it royally screwed me]...that Gmail and Google used my same password!), how to properly back up, and more. Many of is dont have the big picture things. Having the big picture helps us seniors and actually everyone to navigate so much more efficiently and to know where details go when trying to make sense of everything. Thanks Cory!

They kept talking over me and said the cpu wasnt plugged in which made no sense because the PC was still able to play games and run cpu intensive applications. Overall was a bad experience.

So I shattered my IPad Generation 5, took it to Mad mikes and they said they would fix it, they said it would be done in 1-3 days. Got it back two days later all fixed. But the button was lower than where it usually is on an apple product. It got stuck all the time, I looked at it and it looked like they just put a piece of glass on top of the old one, then just today the home button stopped working. We called and they said the could not fix it. But they did give us a little information which I appreciate. But I’m still not happy now because I have to buy a new iPad. They fixed in a reasonable time frame but would not recommend them for fixing IPads. But they fixed the screen which is what I wanted. But I definitely recommend them for computers or laptops. Thank you.

I am so glad I contacted Mike when I was tired of a slow-moving computer. He was responsive to my questions and immediately diagnosed what needed to be done. The job was completed when promised. This place is the real deal. I brought a laptop in that had locked up and within a couple days he had it up and running way way faster than it had ever run before. Based on other CPU repairs I have had before I expected quite a bill. I was wrong, Mad Mikes is quick, informative, friendly and inexpensive. I wont ever use another computer store again.

Mad Mikes is the most honest and helpful IT Service store I have ever had the pleasure of walking into. As someone who knows very little about computers, Mad Mikes explained the issues with my computer in simple terms making me feel comfortable and confident in the discussion rather than stupid. I have a 2011 Macbook Pro, which is very old in Apple terms, but Mad Mikes was willing to help fix it (at a reasonable cost) and didnt push me to just buy a new computer, which is the message I have gotten at Apple stores. I was in Traverse City this past week visiting family when I experienced problems with my lap top. Mad Mikes was recommended to me by someone who had a very positive experience prior. I dropped off my laptop on a Monday and since I would not be in town long, they put a rush on the service for me, which I greatly appreciated. I found everyone there to be extremely professional, kind and helpful. Upon picking up my laptop the very next day, the owner took extra time with me to show me certain aspects of my computer that I was unaware of, and tips and advice on how to keep it running smoothly in the future. Overall, my experience was excellent, the rates were extremely reasonable, and Im so grateful that not only was my laptop repaired, all of my documents and photography is securely in tact. I highly recommend Mad Mikes to anyone in Traverse City or the surrounding areas of Northern Michigan.

They seemed nice when I came in to ask them to figure out what was wrong with my computer I was building, which is a paid service and fully agreed to it, but when they told me what they thought was wrong and I said Id be able to order the parts and complete it myself instead of having them fix it for me, I got a very strong passive-aggressive feeling from multiple people.They publicly offer the service to tell you whats wrong. Thats all I wanted them to do. I agreed to, and did, pay for that service. But I guess they really dont like it when people do that?I also determined the real issue myself later on. They thought I either had a bad CPU or motherboard, but could not fully test that since they said they didnt have the parts to swap things out. Really, it was due to my CPU not having an iGPU, and required a discrete card. Not a common issue Im sure, but thats why I went there in the first place.I wouldnt recommend them to anyone with newer systems, as from the looks of things they probably get older systems exclusively, nor for issues that might be a little more uncommon.I probably should have this as a 1-star rating, but I feel like theyve got potential to do much better.

Awful. I was so upset about my entire experience. I dropped off my computer and was promised to have it returned in 2-3 days. I stopped in a week later, and they still had not even looked at it yet. Again, said 2-3 days. A week later, I finally got a call that said it was done. I had to fight for a discount as the whole process of not knowing what was going on was ridiculous. The parts had not even been ordered for my computer until a week and a half after I dropped it off. Not a difficult fix either. Not only that, but the virus scan and removal of software I had asked for was not completed. My computer runs slower than when I left it there, and I had to argue with them on getting it done fast enough. This was horrible, choose another business.

The absolute best in the business!!! Friendly, helpful and extremely honest staff. They goe out of their way to provide exceptional customer service. Originally took my computer to Best Buys geek squad. Where I was lied to on initial quote, after they wasted my time having to wait for them when I had made an appointment. Only to find out that they were going to screw me out of more money for repairs, hardware and software that wasnt needed. Totaling more than the computer cost to buy it brand new. Called Mad Mikes they got my computer in the next day, checked out, repaired, (was only two over heated resistors) and back to me in three days for $75.00. Will be the only place I give my business to and trust for that matter.

Our small business had a computer crash and we needed to get the data off the hard drive. I heard from another business owner that Mikes was the place to go. I could not be more impressed with their services. They listened to my concerns, extracted the data, and moved it to a new computer within hours. He was also available for follow-up questions I had. They have reliably and consistently treated me professionally, promptly, and at a fair price for my attempts in finding obscure parts like a Pentium III CPU, SDRAM, floppy disks, and drives --- Of course, Ive needed these items 10+ years after they were in and NOBODY has them. The repairs Ive had them perform were correct and without issue. I highly recommend them.

Had my laptop in for service and he told me the motherboard was shot and HE WANTED TO SELL ME A NEW ONE. I got a second opinion and was told that the power port needed replacement and it could be fixed. COST $130.00 but its running like new again. Stay away from this crook.

Broken computer, where to go? My history of taking my computer in for repairs has typically resulted in spending well over $100 or being told that my computer is broken and there is nothing to be done about it. I sort of stumbled into Mad Mikes after missing the computer repair shop I was looking for. I was glad it worked out that way. I had, and continue to have, an excellent experience with Mad Mikes. They fixed my computer for a lot less than $100 and they continue, to help me, free of charge, as I struggle with details about getting pieces (such as re-installing I-Tunes) usable . I would not consider going anyplace else in town.

UPDATE 2 - Twenty minutes after turning it on once I got it back from the screen replacement the battery randomly fritzed out, it would not turn on at all, plugged in with the battery out, plugged in with the battery in, etc, nada. Took it in again and they fixed whatever the issue was and were able to get me a new battery pretty quickly!UPDATE - Two weeks after my 90 day warranty expired the screen on my laptop frizted out and quit working almost entirely, I took it in expecting to drop $200 on a new screen because although labor is covered for life, parts are not, but Tom and Mike replaced the screen at no charge. Quick turn around and awesome customer service. Highly recommend, plus they have a really great shop dog!Awesome! I did not have have the pleasure of meeting Mike himself but Corey was very helpful on the phone and Tom was especially helpful in purchasing a laptop. Would highly recommend these guys to anyone!

I found out about Mad Mikes from a friend. I am new to the area and didnt know who to call. I called Mike and he gave me his fee schedule and also said he would look at my laptop on the spot. I arrived and true to his word, he looked at my laptop and solved the problem in less than 10 minutes and charged me his $10.00 fee. He was also personable and helpful and gave me additional information because I am new to area. Every day I get confirmation that I did the right thing by moving to Traverse City. Mad Mike, Great service, no nonsense, no upselling, quick in/out. I have had Mike and his Team service several PCs and laptops now and have not had a single less than positive experience. My last trip there Mike even did what turned out to be a relatively minor repair (for him) for free!

I took my computer in around 4 oclock one day. The next day, around 1 oclock it was finished and ready for pickup. I am very very satisfied with the service and the people who work there are wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone. They took time to show me things when I picked up it that I did not know how to do prior to taking it in. I am very well pleased.

I cant say enough about how helpful Mike is. My daughters 2-year-old Toshiba laptop wouldnt open up at all. She took it to Best Buy where she purchased it. After she learned Best Buy didnt have a record of her purchase (Yes, she bought it there.) for no logical reason, they told her the problem was a faulty motherboard which the Geek Squad would be happy to replace for $350. Because I had taken an older desktop to Mike about 6 months ago for cleanup and replacement of the hard drive, (btw, the machine has never performed so well. Thanks, Mike for that work, too!) we brought the laptop in for Mike to evaluate. Within 10 minutes of our arrival on a very busy afternoon at Mikes store, Mike had diagnosed the problem. We left the machine with him while running errands for about an hour. When we returned, the laptop was ready for us to take home, with all systems go. Mike also explained to us how to fix the machine ourselves if it ever did this again. The bill? $37.50!!!! Thats all!! Best Buy was ready to yank the motherboard and empty my wallet. I know Mike saved us at least $300 with that visit. If I could give the man 10 stars, I would. Thank you, Mike!!

Mad Mike’s is the best!!!!! I had recently finished an 8 page paper for my English class and deleted a few other files unfortunately I had accidently deleted my paper that I had just finished. I called Mad Mike’s in desperation and no idea if he could recover my stupid mistake. He replied “yeah well get that paper back for you, bring your flash drive on in.” When I got there he was finishing up with a few other customers. I gave him my flash drive and in a few minutes he had all my old files that I deleted back. Had I not been able to recover that paper I would have had to drop the class. Mad mikes service was grade A and I strongly recommend anyone looking for computer service to go see Mad mikes across from NMC, I know I won’t go anywhere else.

Had my laptop in 3 times, still couldnt get sound to work, or virus removed correctly. I googled my problem and the fix was a simple bios update and boot sector repair. Too bad the googles dont work on your side of town apparently.
