We have had our son enrolled in Master Overbeys classes for the last two years. Its been so helpful with building his confidence in his athletic abilities, focus, self-control, and, especially, his self esteem.He always comes out of these classes in such a great and positive mood. All of the instructors are amazing and create such a welcoming and positive learning environment for their students!Definitely worth the money!

My son has been attending Master Overbeys since kindergarten. He had issues controlling his big emotions and had started lashing out at his peers for no reason. Overbeys not only gave him an outlet for his emotions but taught him self control and focus. He is now in 4th grade working on his black belt.Their summer camp is amazing! They go on field trips daily. Picnics, sports zone, movies, trampoline parks, skating, and swimming.. My son was able to stay active all summer while I was working.During COVID stay at home order, Overbeys started virtual lessons. They currently are offering lessons both virtually and in person. This also lets parents watch from their homes or cars which limits the number of people in the building.We are so blessed to have been part of the Master Overbey family.

Master Overbeys has really been a life changing experience for us! Our son has been able to find pride in himself as he works through each belt category and we love everything Master Overbey teaches the kids about Martial Arts but also about real-life scenarios such as bullying. Our son also attends their Summer Camp and this is one of the only places I feel safe with him being while I am working. They also do lots of fun activities each day to keep the kids busy and engaged. We plan on being with this program for many years to come!

My 10 yr old really like this place. It is kids friendly at the same time very professional. My kid is learning a lot and very excited to work to move up to next level. My 8 yr old is also interested in joining after watching her brother and will do so. Highly recommended.

My son has fallen in love with karate. It has given him confidence and such pride in himself. Now that he has obtained his black belt, he feels it is his responsibility to assist younger children in the classes.Its nice to watch the classes and how staff interacts with the children.. very respectful.

My child loves going here, for both summer camp and karate class. Since they hold camp days all throughout the school year and in the summer, they are always there when I need a safe and trustworthy place for my kiddo to go while I work. All child care is expensive, but at least here I know we are getting every cents worth. Lots of appreciation here Master Overbeys Martial Arts!!

There is one comment that Im not sure could ever happen to anyone at this camp and I hope that it did not happen but going on to my review.1 this is one of the most fun camps I have ever gone to and would go here every single year if I could but sadly this year because of covid I could not and it was kinda sad. After all, I wanted to go to be a helper because I had just turned 13 and I was wanting to see everyone again but I had to stay home.it is a fun place and they took us everywhere and a lotthis upcoming year I will be turning 14 so I think I will be able to legally work there with some things refind and I am soooo happy that I might have the opportunity and I say that because 14 is the age that you can not go anymore and I was sad but then I was like I will just try to work there and I hope I willI just want to say that this place is wonderful for kids and teens they do so much stuff and there are people around your age to have fun with your make friends fast and people talk to you so I would say to have your kid go here next year if you can

My sons love this camp and day off school program. Great friendships built, valuable life skills along with a ton of fun.

My son has always had a positive experience with this organization until recently. My son has attended camp when school is out and summer camp. Always has a great time attending. However, my opinion of this place changed drastically. Last week my son informed me that a kid was bullying him and has told the adults numerous times of on going issue. The only thing that was done was having the other child sit down for a few moments then gets to go back to playing. I have taught my son to defend himself when necessary and as a last resort. Mr. Overbey was not fond of my parenting style. Kinda ironic when you teach children to keep composure and to defend themselves yet this isnt allowed. From what my son has told me that this other child has done physical damages to the building. The following day I get a text from Mr. Overbey that due to shortage of staff (college students returning to school) that camp will be cut short. I wasnt even given 24 hours of notice to find care for the remaining of the summer. The text messages made it sound like the camp was closed permanently for the remaining of the summer and no kids would be returning, but the location is on my way home from work and I see children being picked up from camp!! Yet, I signed my son up way in advance when the camp was extended to save his spot. Mr. Overbey knew about the situation, but waited till last minute. Its not like he wasnt aware on a count of getting updates EVERY SUNDAY for the camp schedule for the upcoming week. So he knows how to write an email and send it in advance. Last, how did Mr. Overbey determine which kids were being cut from the program. Again, nothing was disclosed to parents that if children enrolled late during summer camp that they would be the first ones cut from the program. I have a feeling that the discussion about the bullying issue and my son has a right to defend himself played a factor in this. Whenever my son was picked up NOT ONE SINGLE ADULT ever informed us of any behavioral issues. The only thing that was told to us was another child bit him. You would think Mr. Overbey would have common courtesy and be thankful of the amount I have paid to him over the years to watch my son, but no he does not care and will take your money. I really do believe he wanted to wait until the last possible minute to address the situation. This place has lost my business permanently and we will not be returning. Stay clear of this place!

We love the positive focus of Master Overbeys! He has the kids building confidence and good character in class, with sayings and principles we can also use at home. The result is that kindness, courtesy and character is being built around the clock in our kids. Master Overbeys also has good role models in the young men who help with the younger classes. He teaches great martial arts technique and has so many fun games to apply it, the kids enjoy learning at his studio. It has helped our son develop self-confidence, we are so appreciative!

We love attending classes at Master Overbeys!! Our oldest son has been there for over 4 years now and still loves to go. My husband also started attending classes almost 2 years ago after seeing how much our son enjoyed it. We recently started our youngest son as well. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly. Master Overbey and Dante go above and beyond to get to know your child and give the encouragement needed to complete each belt cycle. Most of all, they make learning martial arts FUN! We love that they teach the kids to succeed in all aspects of life. Master Jones is great at teaching the adults as well. He pushes my husband to do things that he might not try on his own and he is always willing to give extra help and instruction when needed.We would recommend Master Overbeys to any one, at any age, with any skill set. Master Overbey is a great teacher. My son loves the activities they do in class. Also, of course, he especially loved the dart gun war on parents night. This class has built up his self-confidence. We love Master Overbeys US Martial Arts! My 9 year old girls have been going for over a year now and they have improved in self-confidence, self-control, and physical health. We love the atmosphere of positive encouragement for everyone. My daughter Crystal says, I love going there because Master Overbey is nice, and he teaches me how to defend myself. He teaches them proper technique and works with each student to make sure they are doing it well. It also really impresses me how Master Overbey knows each child by name. He teaches hundreds of kids, but he knows them on an individual basis.

Patrick Overbey has 40 years of experience and it shows - he knows what he is doing! I highly recommend US Martial Arts. I wish I had started many years ago. (I have attended other schools but never had the time to continue) Both my son and I participate. I wish I had more time to go to additional classes. Master Overbey is very patient, he is especially good with kids and very encouraging. All the additional instructors are top notch also. Master Jones is very positive and knowledgeable as well. The other advantage is there are no long term contracts as other locations may have.

My two children, 6 and 5, have been going here for almost a year and a half. My daughter showed early markers for ADD, and the psychologist who tested her recommended martial arts to help her learn focus. The difference in her over the last year is amazing. She is listening more, and her goal is to be a pink power ranger (or to get a black belt like Noah, one of the older kids there!).The best part of the school is that the kids there are wonderful - even the older kids are respectful, and are patient and kind to my younger ones. I even signed them up for Martial Arts camp for the entire summer, and after the first little bit (where I had mummy anxiety) I was confident leaving them there - not only did Master and Mrs. Overbey (who is a wonderful, warm person who loves working with kids!) keep a good eye on the kids, but the older campers helped keep a good eye on my youngest (a notorious dreamer who doesnt notice things like missing clothes!).In short, I really think this is a special place. Master Overbey uses role modeling and patience, rather than intimidation or shame, to get the best from the kids. He has older kids who help with every class, and to a one they are all great kids. I cant overemphasize how much I appreciate this place as a safe place for my kids to learn life skills and to be good citizens.

My kids love the karate classes, even if they have different ages and genders. Every time I go there I am amazed by the instructorss incredible patience. Master Overbey and Mr. Charlie Stinson are so good with the kids and inspire them to better themselves. I also go to Krav Maga classes for adults and its a great self defense technique and efficient workout. Also recommend all the instructors there, they are motivational and knowledgeable. I learned a lot in the last couple of months and Im also toning up my body more than going to a regular gym.

All 3 of my boys aged 8,8 (twins) and 6 have really enjoyed their classes at Master Overbeys! I enjoy that they are learning good bullying-prevention techniques and growing stronger in every class.

Master Overbey is great with children of all ages. He has done exceptionally well with mine who joined at 4 and has been learning for 3 years.

My 5-year-old son has been doing martial arts with Master Overbey for about 3 months now. We absolutely love it! I love that each class is a little bit different- you can tell that Master Overbey takes the time to come up with new ideas for every session. Also, the classes do not just focus on the martial arts actions, but on the concepts (such as trying to avoid a fight, to avoid being bullied, to avoid bad habits). I really appreciate that Master Overbey knows all of the childrens names and that he will call them out when they are doing something well. He constantly challenges them to be and do their best.It is also great that the classes are so flexible! If we miss one of our normal classes, we are welcome to make it up. Overall, we are completely pleased with Master Overbeys and we will definitely continue there! We could not ask for more!

Master Overbey is one of the kindest, most respectful people Ive ever met. He has taught my son so much about discipline and respect. My sons confidence has improved and hes getting stronger and more flexible every day. This is the first activity weve tried that my son has stuck with consistently without getting bored or tired of it.
