Well.. This place lost me as a customer after trying to get money out of me talking about all 4 rotors and calibers are used and the only thing is new is my pads I bought everything brand new online so I don’t know what they’re talking about. A few days later I went to “Speedy Brakes” It was just the back Two rotors the whole time that need to be replaced. And this is one of the front rotors it have a little bit rust on it but it still look brand new

Wow. I needed an emergency car repair during the last hours of a 13 hour roadtrip. The guys at this midas in topeka replaced my alternator in a couple of hours and I was able to pick it up no problem and be on my way. I really appreciated their help.

I was given a free exhaust check. After sitting for 10 or 15 minutes the mechanic came back with an estimate of $442. The mechanic pointed out one area of the exhaust that needed replacing but failed to acknowledge the area that needed a gasket seal. Incompetent and greedy, the manager is. Don’t take you car there for major repairs. I went somewhere else and the job done for half of that estimate...$180

I like coming here to get my oil changed in my older vehicles. Any major work I usually go somewhere else as this place is pretty expensive. But overall good place for minor things.

I really dont know why they have gotten bad reviews. I have been going there for years and they have always treated me great. As long as they treat me great I will keep going back. The staff is great and explain everything before I get work done. They have gone out of their way to make sure the problem is fixed every time and if they cant they refer me to someone who can. I respect them for all their hard work that they do to make sure all their clients are taken care of. I couldnt ask for a nicer bunch of gentlemen. My car was being a problem we laughed we cried and we had just a fun time about the whole thing but in the end they made sure it was taken care of.

I thought I needed a new tire and was ready to pay $150+, but they were honest and told me it was just the air cap, a $6 fix. They were nothing but professional, trustworthy, and patient. Thats why I always go back to them. Shop manager Ryan was great to me!

Used to be a good shop. Came under new management and now its terrible. Staff is shady. Took my car in to get new tires, as I was leaving the parking lot I nearly wrecked because my brakes werent working. Break line had been broken (which sits just a couple inches from the wheel), and they refused to acknowledge possible responsibility for the damage. Car wasnt drivable without breaks and the manager said pay to fix it or ill call the cops and have your towed. I will NOT go back.

I just dont know about this place. Ive been going here for years, but I think a new manager bought the place and its been going downhill. First, I took my truck in twice because it didnt sound right, and they told me both times my brake pads were fine. They were not. By the time they figured that out, I didnt even have a back brake pad. I will say they appear to have fixed my trucks brakes, but the billing practices are also super shady. The guy repeatedly told me all that had to be done was replace the brake pads, but he charged me for the pads and the rotors, then backtracked on his statement. Im sorry to say, I dont trust them anymore. Time to find a new mechanic.

Do NOT take your vehicle HERE. Paid $765 for front brake otor replace and an oil change. They way over torqued ALL my brakes.Took van to an honest shop for rear brakes otors and paid $315. Plus this shop comes highly recommended.

I went in to have my oil changed and have my brakes checked because they were squeaking I expected a huge bill and ended up with a huge relief when they told me it was just surface rust and that my brakes were perfectly fine They changed my oil and got it out in a timely manner

I give this Midas 👍. I went there for an oil change and evaluation for coolant light. They took care of me that day and were available to give me a ride if needed. They also asked me to stop by a few days later to have the coolant level rechecked after a few days. I did not get back in a few days but a few weeks later due to busy schedule and they got me right in and checked level and off we went!! Happy 🚗!Thank you Travis & team! I went there to get my muffler fixed and they did the job. The problem came when the manager tried to pretend my ID wouldn’t be accepted he said he tried several times. I have the updated drivers license good to 2024 with the gold star ⭐️ in the corner. The number was even the same as the card before. I was wanting to pay a $251 charge for repairs by check so I can track it easier. I have over $2000 in my checking account and didn’t want to charge it. I ended up charging it because supposedly my ID would not show as valid. I figure if he will lie about this they will lie about anything. He also stated that if my check was bad he would be forced to pay for it. Sometimes it is best to be honest. I like using Toyota for most of my repairs. I just figured I would go here because it was a muffler issue.

I thought I needed my brakes replaced but it turned out that I did not. I definitely recommend using them. It was refreshing to deal with completely honest auto repair location.Use Midas and it will give you peace of mind. They will get any business I can give them.

Kyle at Midas over by 21st @ Wanamaker was a great help, he explained everything to me to where I could understand it & even taught me some things I didnt even know. He is very professional and kind and when I found out I needed more work done than planned they helped me file for a midas credit card and I didnt have to pay a penny up front or for the whole first month!

Car over heated multiple times due to a bad part. Resulted in blown head gaskets. Didnt do a thorough cooling system inspection. Lawrence Midas discovered a hole in coolant reservoir but the damage seemed to already been done.

Went in to get an oil change and had a coupon that said 19.99 oil change. thought it was a good deal. Now i dont know a lot about cars or what goes in them. i have an older car. all i know is that i relay didnt want synthetic in my car. the man said high mileage is what i want. Im down they know what they are talking about. In about 30 min they are done and the bill is due. i figured they might charge taxes and a small labor charge. no i walk out paying 46.92 My 20-25 dolor oil change was doubled that it was almost 50+ then i reminded them of the coupon. The man didnt tell me that the high mileage oil was more. i was charged 14.84 for labor then there was a $3 Shop feel. so much for a cheap oil change. I understand i dont know cars but dont take avantige of that

Midas in Topeka is a great place to get quality service in a timely manner. Went in to have exhaust system clip replaced. It was much more than a clip needed. They showed me the issue and gave me an estimate right away. I couldnt get the repair done right then but I told them I would come back Monday. Monday I dropped my car off and in less than 2 hours they called to say it was ready. Awesome and very friendly Service Manager and Mechanic. Thanks Midas. I will be back for sure!!!

The work was done alright. They rotated my tires. Didnt bother to check tire pressure. They didnt bother to tell me one of my tires is practically bald. My tire pressure light came on shortly after leaving Midas. The guy at front desk never told me about anything. Normally where I get my car taken care of they are very informative and polite. Im not sure Ill go back to Midas though.

Absolutely terrible. The manager Travis always is very short/rude with me and treats me like Im dumb. I dont usually write bad reviews, especially if they are just having a bad day. But with Midas I guess every day is a bad day. I came in for an emergency (my tire blew right in front of their store), and they said their compressor is down... No biggie. I just need help putting my spare tire on. Nope cant do it, our compressor is down. I didnt know you needed a compressor to put on a spare. Yup, we dont have the tools to do it. Heres your keys. Good thing every vehicle comes with a kit to change a tire. I wouldnt have asked for help if I wasnt in a thin jacket with it being 2 degrees outside.... Right in front of their store. DO NO RECOMMEND. TO ANY. FAMILY, FRIENDS, ENEMIES, ANYONE.

Well got a free oil change in the mail, but what they don’t tell you is it only covers up to 5 quarts and of course a truck is 7.5qts. So they wanted to charge me 50.00 + tax just for the extra oil. So in fact this was a wasted trip. What a sham. Should pay me for wasting my time driving up there. 🤬

This is a follow up to a previous review: unfortunately I cant give them more than 1 star and one star because they are polite. I took my car in again because the a/c wasnt working. When I went to pick it up I didnt even get out of the parking lot because no air was blowing through the vents. Went back in, etc. etc. Young man said the pigtails were backwards. The blowers were working but no cold air I thought it just needed to be on for a while because the temp was over 100 that day. It never blew cold air. Then the blower failed again just 3 days later. Ive decided not to go back. I will live without a/c and save my money for the fall to have the blower fixed before winter comes. At least I hope I can defrost my windows.

Excellent prompt service. I stopped with a car battery problem, and I was worked right in. A test on the battery showed it was time to replace it, which they did, and I was out of there in 20 minutes! Travis, the manager, is a person I trust, and that means a lot when it comes to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Came by to have them look at vehicle that was told needed a bunch of repairs, they showed what it actually needed and told me why it didnt need most of what was recommended by a competitor down the street. Work was done quickly at a fair price, and the work has a nationwide warranty.

Tire repair

I took my truck here for brakes. They gave me a quote for over $2000. I declined their services and opted for another shop. I showed my Midas quote to the other shop and was informed that one of the services they were charging me $700 for didnt even apply to the year, make, and model of my truck. I fully believe they did this because Im a woman and thought Id take them at their word.

Seriously, WATCH YOURSELF with these guys!! I went in with a specific issue : I had a rear brake line with a single hole. I explained the issue CLEARLY to the 2 people working there, (one of which was a manager) which line it was and asked how much it would cost to replace it. Without looking at ANYTHING I was told 600-850 to repair it. I thought this was odd considering the entire line costs 45$ new. I checked 4 other places in town and the very biggest estimate was 350. The other places literally LAUGHED when I told them about the estimate given to me at Midas. Long story short I paid a friend of a friend to do it and he had the line taken care of in 1.5 hours INCLUDING the trip to the parts store and bleeding the system. He didnt have the use of air tools and did not have a lift. The parts he used cost a TOTAL of 12.95 for the line and some fittings. I paid less than 1/6 of the MINIMUM estimate given to me by Midas for the 1.5 hour job. Watch out with these guys if you dont know about cars; THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF FOR EVERY PENNY THEY CAN!!Update response: A single rear drivers side brake line for a 2000 Sonoma is 55.00 for the MAX price I have found. This also doesnt even take into the account that Midas is equipped to install/bend and flare brake lines from bulk on nearly ANY vehicle that uses standard lines (much cheaper). Also, neither the manager NOR employee that were there looked at the computer or any parts catalogue. As a matter of fact, they did nothing but stare at me during the 3 minutes I was in the lobby getting the estimate.

My husband and I just got our brakes done on our Avenger. We experienced great customer service from all the employees including Mike and manager Travis Ussery. Even got a free oil change. Definitely recommend Midas in Topeka, KS and will go back in the future.

My car started overheating and smoking on my way to work. Dropped off my vehicle and they gave me a courteous ride back to work. By lunch, my car was fixed and I was able to pick it up. Both employees that I met were kind and honest. I appreciate their help and I had a very good experience at this store. I hope not to need their service again, but I do recommend their work.

The best steak in town and great food service

My fiancee and I paid for services that they didnt even do. They lied and promised to complete vital work on my fiancees truck. They also lied and said the brakes were fine. Today, not even 2 weeks after having them service his truck, the brakes locked up and began to smoke. By the time we got to a mechanic, the tire and hub cap were so hot it couldnt be touched. If wed been driving on the highway going 70 mph, his tire wouldve exploded and seriously injured or killed us. Among many things, they didnt even reattach the emergency brake on the drivers side. If theyd done the services wed paid for and let us know that the brakes were no good, we wouldve paid them well for the work. Instead, were both extremely upset. I will never again go to a Midas and will make sure that I tell everyone I know what we have experienced. If I could post this with no stars, I most definitely would.

Wow this place really has a mom and pop feel the manager Jesse was kind and thoughtful and really helped me. I was traveling from Albuquerque to Pittsburgh and my car started making a terrible sound. Jonathan went through tip to tail and found everything to be resolved. He even drove around the block with me a few times to make sure they could hear the issue I heard. they were just so genuine and really got me back on the road. I’m truly grateful. Wish I lived nearby so I could use them regularly

I called and talked to Mike asking if they could run diagnosis for my exhaust. I did all the research I needed to online and came to the conclusion that this was my problem either the catalytic converter or muffler was blocked up. I did not want codes ran as I did that myself also. Mike told me it was going to be about 90.00 for them to hook it up and see what it said. When I asked if he was going to hook it up and run codes he said yeah and to see what its doing. Running codes is not how you check the exhaust for blockage. I know how to check for blockage but just dont have the tools. Thanks Mike and Midas for wasting my time.

I own a very well-loved 97 Plymouth Breeze. I started having issues with my steering, and it was growing exponentially worse. It got to the point where it was a serious workout and slightly scary experience to turn the wheel while I was driving. Jerry, the main man at the counter, recognized me and knew my name despite the fact I hadnt been in in months. I got an appointment the next day, they took a look at her and gave me the run down on repairs and costs (leaking steering wheel fluid hose/$300* due to an overnight part in KC and the wacky design of my car. Just look up how to change out the battery..). Jerry called me when they were done. He ended up saving me a good chunk of money, but most importantly, the night-and-day change to my cars handling made me feel safe again. A big thanks to Jerry and his awesome mechanics for great customer service and a job well done! Thanks guys!

Midas did a great job taking care of my van today. They got the work done all in one day, even though the place was really busy. After spending a couple of sleepless nights worrying about my brakes, Im glad that they were able to fit my van into the schedule today and get the pads and rotors taken care of. I look forward to sleeping well tonight.

I scheduled a week in advance for both my vehicles to get an oil change at the same time, I showed up and they told me my appointments were staggered by 30 minutes so we had the first one go in and I watched them skip the tire rotation when I asked why they said the tread measures too low (I watched them NEVER measure the tread) then they pull that car out and skip my other vehicle. It wasnt like they were busy, there were only 3 vehicles and two of them were mine so I cancelled my other vehicle and went to big o tires. This is the third time in a row they skip tire rotations, last two times they tell me they did but I had the tires marked and they didnt.

Stopped in to get an oil change on my truck, Im told it will be over $74.00 (not including tax) for an oil change on my Silverado 2 wheel drive gasoline truck. I asked why...he said they are required by law to use DEXOS BRAND OIL in my truck. Really, BY LAW....lol. Were gonna get arrested for using a NON-DEXOS BRAND. They said i HAVE to use the DEXOS BRAND of oil. First off..DEXOS is NOT a brand, its a manufacturers oil specification.... (you need to send someone back to oil change school or something). Ive had my truck there 3 times and my oil change was almost HALF that price.....now its nearly double?! There are plenty of oils that far exceed the DEXOS requirements/specifications ...Ill just do it myself.

I asked for an oil change which I was told came with a free tire rotation. I was told it would take an hour. I showed up an hour later and my tires were pulled off my truck and then the manager says IT WILL COST YOU AN EXTRA $40 +TAX TO BALANCE THEM!!!!! THIS WAS NEVER BROUGHT UP BEFORE MY TIRES WERE PULLED OFF AND NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER HAD TO PAY FOR THE BALANCING OF THE TIRES WHEN THE ROTATION IS FREE!!!! A TOTAL RIP OFF AND ILL BE NOW PAYING SOMEONE ELSE TO BALANCE THEM! ILL NEVER GO BACK AND NEGATIVE SPREADS A LOT FASTER THAN POSITIVE! GRADE F-
