We moved around this area last October and we have been trying different shops with no luck, but we got lucky enough to find this place. The price is also pretty good compared to other places that we have gone to around this area. 100% recommend them!

Hayam is the best!! My son was 2 when I first took him to try Northside barber after we’d had awful experiences at other barber shops. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming we felt comfortable right away. Since my son and I had not had good experiences at any other barber shop before, he was a very difficult little client. Hayam was so patient and kind to him she’s the reason we continued going every 2 weeks. Now my son gets excited to get his haircut when he used to throw tantrums. All thanks to Hayam!!!

Hayam has been cutting my hair now for couple weeks. Dont even have to tell her what I need. I sit down and she goes to work while we talk. She is great, awesome personality and does an amazing fade. I dont just go anywhere. I have to make sure the right person does my hair. Ill be going to her for now on.

I moved from Los Angeles, CA about two years ago and was looking for a real legit barbershop for a while when I moved to Brick, NJ. When I found Ray at Northside Barbershop, I was taken back with my experience. Ray is by far one of the best barbers I’ve ever been to. Him and his whole shop are real down to earth people and give such a welcoming vibe the minute you walk in. The shop is always clean no matter how busy they are. I wouldn’t go to anyone else even if I’m in dire need of a haircut. I’d rather look like a bum than go to a different barber. Ive been getting my hair cut by Ray for years now. I followed him over from Justins to Northside. When I first moved to Monmouth County, I couldnt find a barber who knew how to do a good fade. One fateful day, I sat in Rays chair, and I havent strayed since. He is a wizard with hair! If you need a top-notch cut, Northside is the place to go.In addition, since he took over ownership of the business a year ago, it has grown leaps and bounds. He has hired a diverse group of barbers that can fulfill even the most demanding customers need. The layout and atmosphere of the shop has also improved. My boyfriend and my brother get their hair cuts here. They go to Ray. He’s very personable and always does a great job on both of them. My boyfriend in particular is very picky with his hair. He’s afraid to go to and try different people because he’s had people mess up his hair before. He went to north side and had the same guy who cuts my brothers hair (Ray) and was very satisfied. After moving here almost 3y ago, I was in need of a close shop for my son. I found Northside and couldnt be happier. My Son is 26, Autistic with Aspergers. Hes very content going to Gloria, & may I say, Im very happy with Gina!!!

Place was bought out about two years ago, by an absent owner. The previous two owners cared about their business and were present every day. This new owner is rarely ever there. as Ive seen him there maybe five time in two years.Hiring practices are VERY poor as he has a number of kids fresh out of beauty school loaded up with tattoos and who dont listen to the customers wants as theyre too busy chatting with each other. Worse, they wrote through so quickly that I rarely see the same kid month to month.The team often jokes about whose taking out the trash or doing what side work in front of the customers which is neither appropriate nor professional.If youre patient, ask for the older Italian gentleman. Hes a retired NYC barbershop owner who work three days a week to keep busy. His service is impeccable and hell spend as much time on you as he needs to deliver what youre looking for.Theres another woman, the manger, whose name I cannot recall, whos very good too.Hopefully this owner sells soon to someone who knows what the hell their doing or actually gives a damn about their business and doesnt see it as an extension of his wallet....

This place is great even when he is super busy ray finds a way to fit me into his schedule. He has an ability to make me not look like a fool and he is very professional and personable I love getting my hair cut by him and I love the atmosphere

Their level of experience wasn’t what I was looking for. I went there based on the reviews they got on google but honestly I asked for only minor trimming and ended up with a major hair cut that I didn’t ask for.

Ive been getting my haircut by Ray at Northside for many years now, I used to work right next door but even now that I work farther away I will always make the trip. Ray and his staff are always excellent, suggestive and friendly. They get involved in your haircut and treat their customers like a friend rather than just a number. The atmosphere is great and the shop is ALWAYS clean. Ray and his staff have always been very flexible with timing and appointments to fit your schedule, wether its your first time or your 100th time like myself you will not be disappointed! Ask for William. He is an old school barber who had his own place in Manhattan for 30 years before moving to Mayberry(Toms River) to retire.Great Stylist and conversationalist. You will not be disappointed.

I get my Haircut every 2-3 weeks here, I go to Ray, and he cuts my hair perfectly every time, very gentle with the buzzer and the blade and most of all he greets you gives you nothing but love and takes care of you and cuts your hair exactly the way you want it, not to mention every barber there is very friendly and very skilled and talented at what they do, this is what I like to call a class A barbershop, highly recommend to people of all ages!!!!!
