Bailed me out with a truck rental on moving day after the Ottawa Hills location left me hanging out to dry without the truck that I reserved. The guy there was nice and professional, and gave me a mileage credit to make up for the fact that I had to come to a different location to get the truck that I was supposed to get from Ottawa Hills.
OUTSTANDING, Friendly Customer Service.Budgets website mistakenly advertises that this location is open at 9am however it doesnt open until 9:30am. Regardless, when the manager saw me, he opened the doors at about 9:15 am and welcomed me in anyhow. He apologized, even though it wasnt his fault that Budget had the opening time wrong and proceeded to open his register and computer early for me.Everything about the truck rental went smoothly. The price of the rental truck was about $10 less than other companies, and the online application was easy to book..The truck drove nicely, was clean, and did the job without any problem. Due to lack of volunteers to help me move, (who doesnt have friends bail out on helping you move?) it took a little longer than expected to return the truck the following day. The manager was kind enough to forgive me going over my time by a little bit, and even the fact that the gas was a hair off from the full level when I returned it. And again, he did all this with a very friendly, enjoyable personality.***CAT LOVERS*** One of the other unique things that made this Budget Rental location enjoyable, was Pepper, the greeter cat that greets every customer when they come in, and keeps you company till you leave.I hope I dont ever have to move again, but if I do, I will certainly return to this Budget Truck rental location and recommend it to all my friends and family.
NEVER EVER drop off at this location !!!!! And after what I encountered I would never do any type of business with someone like the owner of this location. What a crook !! Every OTHER time I used budget was a very pleasant experience, very professional and helpful. I had to drop off on a new years day so the location was obviously closed. So I drop off like I am instructed I am not a crook I follow the rules and do things respectfully as I always do in ANY business transaction. Truck is clean fueled up and returned on time. Later that week I see a 80 dollar fuel charge!! This is where it gets interesting, I call the budget owner (who refuses to give me his name) and ask him about it, I tell him that the gauge was halfway from 3/4 to full (almost full) and that every time I filled it up, the whole trip, the safety on the fuel pump stopped it there every time. So guess what he tells me, I need to pull the gas pump out of the tank and spray the gas in from outside the tank ! Can you believe it ! I am still in shock and will be doing my best to inform everybody about this crook.
In response to the customers complaint. Per contract when a customer rents and returns a truck it must be returned full per the fuel gauge. The vechical was sent out on full so it is required to be returned full or there is a 30.00 surcharge along with the cost of the fuel. This is signed by the customers when renting the trucks. As this customer stated the truck was returned 3/4 full and that he did this at every fill up. He did not contact budget roadside assistance with this issue and when our dealership filled it we had no problems getting the fuel gauge to read full. Yes you do need to pull the fuel nozzle out on a Diesel truck in order to fuel it all the way. The customer was also provided the Budget Customer Service number to work with them as they are the division of Budget that will offer refunds for complaints, breakdowns and any other issue.
