The person who helped me was nice, professional and helpful with picking stuff out for my saxophone. They are willing to offer me a teacher if needed. They are very organized with what you need to pick out for music books, has all kind of instruments. They also have cute miscellaneous items.

This amazing local business is my happy place. Whether I purchase anything or not I always spend hours in here looking around and talking about music with other true music addicts. They have the most fantastic musical themed items I have ever seen, amazon doesnt hold a *note* to these people & I shop on Amazon for 95% of everything.

Just moved into town a few months back and have been looking for a music store that is a local business, saw Richards and lit up. Just got back from there having dropped off my guitar for fix and a service, what a GREAT STORE, awesome customer service everything you could want in there. So glad to see a fellow small business going strong, got my money from now on. Friendly and helpful place with more instruments than anywhere else or the ability to get them. Decided to get each of my kids an instrument for Christmas and ended up at guitar center but they didnt have violins. After searching around online nowhere could guarantee delivering it prior to Christmas so I checked out a couple of other local places that had some beat up looking stuff or none. I ended up at Richards Music on the Tuesday the week of Christmas and they had almost 10 violins hanging in plane sight. After telling the guy the size I was looking for he checked the price of the violin which was way above my price range so I thought I was SOL but he grabbed the owner out of the back and I talked to him about what I was looking for and he told me he could order what I needed and get it in on Thursday, Christmas Eve. I was skeptical but didnt really have any other option but when Christmas Eve rolled around they gave me a call when it was delivered and the guy hooked me up with information on multiple private teachers. I was extremely happy with my experience.

I purchased the music stand here for my wife and it was broken right out of the box. Tried to bring stand back for a replacement within an hour of purchase and they did not have a replacement and he said they were on order. Two weeks later still no stand and theyre on backorder, so he says and they do NOT do refunds. He refused to give a refund and we would have to wait. I was hoping to support local business but I will be buying a replacement on Amazon, I do not recommend this business.

It was a very positive experience. I hadnt been in to the store in many years and I was pleased the staff was as helpful and accommodating as always.

Whoever I talked to (I’m assuming not the owner) wasn’t pleasant at the least. I had some questions on a resell and every time I tried talking I was interrupted with “I’m not the one to ask” without the question even being asked LOL very poor service. Do not recommend

I went to Richard’s Music to rent a full size cello for my daughters music class at school. The store set me up with a very nice cello outfit which includes a bag, bow and rosin. When my daughter had her first class, the music teacher inspected all the students instruments. The teacher was very impressed by the quality of the cello. I was working with a band that was touring and they had one of their guitars get damaged while travelling. I had called a few stores with no luck, then somebody suggested Richards Music. They staff there are great. They were able to get the exact guitar the band needed. We were also able to get the guitar repaired by Richards. It is a really great store with great customer service !

Went to visit the guys down at Richard’s Music this morning and was greeted with respect, kindness by the two gentleman that helped me at pickup, as well as drop off. I went in to inquire about a restring and tune of my Martin acoustic that I recently inherited from my father, after his passing two weeks ago. I only trusted Richard’s to take care of such a precious gift such as this and they did a phenomenal job. Awesome staff, wonderful work and insanely reasonable prices. Love these guys! They had the job done in less than 5 hours. Would recommend anyone check them out for any of your music needs!

Really nice store, friendly staff. Had exactly what I went in for, at a very reasonable price. Not nearly as chaotic as that other store in Spring Meadows, and they were open earlier than the other stores. Definitely, highly recommended.

When I purchase a guitar at a garage sale - I took it to various music stores to have it checked out to see what I needed to do to fix it. Richards Music was the only one that said it could be fixed. However, it would have to be sent back to the manufacturer to do it. They also advised that it would be cheaper to get another guitar as it would cost more to have it fixed than it would to purchase a new one. We really appreciate their honesty concerning the guitar.

I always feel very welcome when I go into Richards music. The staff is knowlagable and excited about every aspect of music, which is very warming. They encourage customers and advise on selecting music, if they do not have a particular sheet or song you would like to play they will order it for you and call you when it comes in. I enjoy stopping in Richards!

I got my metal kazoo from here and might I say the staff and the environment were both immaculate. Very fast very efficient and I found what I was looking for near instantly. Amazing!

I took my guitar for adjustment, they kept it for 5 days, they called me to let me know it was ready, i pay 45 dollars for something they never did, took the guitar to sweet water the place i bought it, they fix it right there in front of me, just took a few minutes, no charge, how sad when people think that they will become rich or successful, acting like that, bye bye richards music, you lost a good costumer, how can you support your local business.

Great!I went in looking for vinyl and left with a guitar! The man who helped me was great and I purchased an acoustic guitar with a beach theme on it! Great find!

Took my daughters clarinet here to have it repaired, received it back with a bent key. Upon bringing it back to store to repair it employee preceded to blame my 12 yr old daughter for bending the key. The employees at this business were very rude and upon returning the clarinet after repairing the bent key other keys had gouges in them like they took a pair of pliers to them to bend it back. The instrument repair man at this business is a HACK. Do not have repairs done here.

Richard’s has a terrific selection of music for all instruments and genres. It’s an impressive store and the only one of it’s kind within 100 miles. If you read music and your visiting or living in Toledo, Richard’s should be your first stop.

I dont like to support the bigger chains, so I took a look at this place the other day. The store is relatively cramped, but is still interesting to be in.They had no customers at the time of me experiencing the staff, unfortunately. One employee didnt even play guitar, and yeah he could still be knowledgeable, but instead he only tried to be funny every so often/try to get me to buy more. Still he was a good employee, and made me feel welcomed to an extent. The other old gentlemen acted as if I were a 12 year old just looking at guitars for the first time. Tells me they have a wonderful selection of lefty guitars. Brings me to a $600 electric of a brand Ive never even heard of and just walks away after im not interested. Didnt ask what sound im looking for, didnt ask what music I play, didnt suggest an amp, didnt help me find more lefty stuff and didnt even exit the conversation properly after I showed no interest in the bland $600 guitar. Also ignored multiple questions I had like I wasnt worth it. Just that guy alone gives me the impression the entire store would have no problem ripping off newer players, because youre only after the money of your business. No passion here. Just Businessmen. Commission salary is tough. You could at least fake interest, or help people find what they want to buy when they come to you with questions. Even if what they want isnt at your store. Otherwise you should take down that sign in the parking lot that states musicians only. 2/10 wouldnt recommend. There are so much better places to spend your money and bond with better workers, trust me.

I just called, and Diane was very helpful on the phone. This was my 5th call around Ohio looking for a specific item, and she located it quickly, and offered to have it waiting at the front of the store without me asking for this extra service!

When I was not able to drive to Richards Music for the items I wanted - I was able to order them on-line. My order was shipped right away. You can be sure that I will not hesitate to order on-line again.

I love the place they have all kinds of new gear at great prices. Sometimes out of stock or not stocked but the employees are extremely helpful.

On July 12, I brought my guitar to Richards to be serviced (My kid pulled it off the stand and the neck started to separate from the body). I was told it would be a couple days and their tech would call me. By July 18, I had not heard from them so I called, only to be told, our tech hasnt looked at it yet, hell look at it within a couple days. By July 23rd, I still had not heard from them, so I called again, and was again told, a couple days. The first a couple days had turned into a week and a half. I think the only reason I got it back (after a month) was because they got tired of me calling them. They never called me, I always had to call them, only to be told the same thing over and over again. They will not give you a specific date, saying It will be done on such-and-such a day; only a couple days. I kept asking When? On what day of this week will your elusive Tech look at and fix my guitar? They never gave me a straight answer. If they had told me up front that it would take a month, I might not be so upset. I think their interpretation of couple days is different from everybody elses. I also got real nervous when I found that they have a history of holding musical instruments hostage, even to a point of having a local news station do an investigation. Suffice it to say, I will stay away from Richards Music from now on. I think I could have gotten better service from a third grader with Elmers Glue than I got at Richards Music.

The music was here in a couple days and this was a gift. I did not have worry about it arriving on time because it was here so fast.

It is a shame that Richards is one of only a handful of music stores; they are terrible. It was a nightmare to rent a trumpet for my son, getting snarky handwritten notes on monthly bills and an attitude when we turned it in rather than purchasing it. Plus a valve was bad and they tried to tell me it wasnt (I played trumpet for years myself; I know the instrument), and got the familiar sales clerk running back & forth to the manager who hid in the back, peeking out but unwilling to speak to me. Another time I casually asked about buying a metronome, as mine is @ 30 years old, and was told in a condescending way that With PROPER care, they should last a lifetime! Service is abysmal. Ill go there for sheet music from time to time, but now that you can buy it online, theres little reason to go anywhere near Richards Music.

Ive been a customer for over 10 years. I love the knowledgeable staff, I will continue to be a loyal customer for several years to come.

The guy doesnt have set price on maintenances and took me for a fool and charged me a ridiculous amount for a restringing and new set of strings along with an average job doing it. I know this because I went there a while ago to get a new set of strings and it was a third the price. He clearly didnt remember me. I wont be going back.
