My poor Saint Bernard poodle mix tripped over a thresher that had fallen out of the rack and really lacerated and cut up his foot and leg. Of course this had to happen on a Saturday but I am so thankful for the emergency vet services. My husband brought him in and they took great care of him with lots of compassion and were very friendly. I would not hesitate to bring any of my animals back in an emergency. Thank you for being kind and caring to Booboo.
Called in regards to my dog having an emergency & they got him in and out within an hour! Nice and quick service!
All they care about is money never take your animals here if you care about them
I am taking care of my sisters two cats while shes between moves. Her one kitty, Henry, is a mostly orange cat with extremely thick fur. He got some poop stuck in his fur near his bottom, so it was either wait until Monday(this happened on Saturday late afternoon) or take him to the emergency vet clinic for some emergency grooming. Having utilized the services of this emergency vet clinic in the past, I had no reservations about taking Henry there. They have always taken good care of the critters Ive taken there in the past(my various cats and the toy poodle I had) and was very confident they would take good care of Henry. With this pandemic going on, they took Henry into the clinic while I waited in my car. After awhile, they brought Henry back to the car with the poop cleaned out of his fur and a modest shave job around his bottom to prevent a repeat occurrence. They did this for a very reasonable price(EXTREMELY reasonable). They get a well-deserved 5-star rating from me!
Our cat had an issue with an open sore. We took him to the vet. It took 15 minutes for them to take the cat. Another 45 minutes go by with no word. My husband checks on him and there are 20 animals in line in front of him and 1 vet. He wouldn’t be seen until morning anyway so we had to take him back home. Would have been nice if they had disclosed that before we waited an hour.
Im glad I ignored the bad reviews out of fear. I was too scared for my sweet girl to wait for another location to open when she woke me up in pain and vomiting in the middle of the night. I dont know what the normal cost for a visit is and maybe it is a little higher than normal but the women here gave me a lot of options and information so that I could make an informed decision with the cost and they were very sweet and sympathetic and kind to my cat.
My dog ended up licking a frog and google said it was poisonous and the dog was going to die and I called this place and the lady was so helpful in telling us that the frog was harmless and she was very nice
My chihuahua had a deep gash in her back from another dog. It was so deep you could see her muscles. After waiting 2 hours at 12 at night they finally call us back and tried to suck as much money as possible. They wanted to sedate her....... Just to do a couple staples. They tried charging $300 that they wanted on the spot! These unprofessional sorry excuses called vets truly dont care about animals. They didnt clean my dog up or anything!!! I walked out and had to pay $89 for their joke service. Joke!
First $80 just to be seen is outrageous and then you wait forever and not another car or person to be seen any where. Then got ask the same questions 3 different times by the 3 different people, what no one write stuff down. Said we should leave her over night to be observed for another $200 I dont think so. Emergency vet more like emergency rip off.
I recently had to bring my elderly dog here. I was met with friendly, helpful staff. I knew there was a possibility that Id have to put my 14 yr old dog down, I was unsure that it was time to do so. Dr. Sarah Anderson was extremely compassionate and professional and I was impressed with her. She explained his condition to me and that it was time. He had been slowly deteriorating the past few months, but was still active and functioning, but he had a tumor in his stomach burst that night and he was suffering. She was very kind to me and my dog. I am sorry to lose my friend, but knowing thathe met his end with such a kind and caring person made me feel better.
So much for offering emergency services. These people cant even answer their phone! I called twice and just let it ring and ring and ring. If this place cant even properly staff the front desk of this supposed emergency clinic, what else are they remiss about?
I took my 10 year old cat into this place a few years ago due to her breathing very heavy. I was freaking out and after the Vet ran some test and took X-rays they told me I would need to put her to sleep due to something being wrong with her heart. I KEPT asking for better options and they told me that they could send the X-Rays away for a second opinion but it would take 2-3 hours and the result would likely be the same. I LOVE my cat and had them send out the X-Rays and waited... I am so glad I did because the results came back and all that was wrong was my cat had asthma. Had I taken the Vets advice and not asked for options I would not have gotten the extra years that I have with her now... she is still alive! I will go back to this place as a last resort and always get a second opinion.
I am a caring and loving person to all of Gods creations and I rescued a kitten entrapped in a trap meant for a raccoon. The kitten was injured,I have little means but had to take the kitten in to my vet. $102.00 later (thank goodness my vet worked with me on payment) UNLIKE the critical care center. This kitten consequently ripped open my birds cage door and attacked my 4 year old parakeet.I called not to ask them to work for free but to answer a question for me which they would not do,$80.00 to see what is already obvious, not including the treatment the bird would need.MONEY OR CREDIT CARD UP FRONT when my buddie is in danger of infection all I wanted to know is what kind of antibiotic should I give him. Caring and Compassion should not be on their list of attributes! This is what their website claims.....Our expert health care team is staffed with caring, compassionate, highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to providing quality care for your pet around the clock. Whether your pet ingests a toxin or experiences and unexpected injury, we are here to help. I asked a question that might save my birds life, they would not answer it,DOES THAT SAY CARING?COMPASSION?
The service was horrible the doctor had little compassion. I felt as though they convinced me to do unnecessary testing because they knew we were extremely upset about our pets injury. They did an x-ray and charged 163.00 told me my cat needed emergency surgery. I refused the surgery due to the cost (2,000) and decided to follow up with my vet first thing in the morning since his office opened in about 6 hours. They told me they were going to send the same x-ray they were prepared to do emergency surgery from for a second radiologist to review for around another 40.00. I told them that was not necessary and the nurse came back in the office and said the doctor said we have your signature on file already so you will have to pay for it. I believe this office is in the business of making money off of emotional pet owners.
I had a good experience with them last year when my poodle had severe backed up pooped. She had it matted in her bottom. She was sick and they was able to give her medicine and clean her up. She was in and out in a few hours. I didnt have enough for the full bill. I was able to make two payments for her bill including what I had that night
Took my dog for vomiting, xray done... Vet said she didnt see any obstructions, neglected to say anything about the Large Mass in her stomach. Recommended keeping overnight on IV and antibiotics for $1600-$1800 until I could get her into My Vet in the Morning. Seem more interested in how many thgs they can talley on your bill than the Actual Well-Being, Comfort and Life of your pet. Financially got you over a barrel...Emotional Manipulation. If she wasnt going to survive... Why prolong let her continue to suffer?? $$$ Smh.*Theres good reason youre rated so poorly.
I had to take my 13 year old cat in because her mouth was bleeding continuously. After several minutes the vet came in and without saying hello or anything said How long has your cat been losing weight? I replied she started using weight when I got my dog a year and a half ago, but that recently she started eating again and was gaining some back. She then proceeded to tell me Well thats untrue. She has cancer in the most uncaring way she could. She said it was on her tongue and asked if I wanted to see it, I said no, and she forced my cats mouth open anyway to show me. I didnt want the mouth open because I was afraid my cat would irritate it more and it would hurt her.The vet I had (she never even gave her name or introduced herself) lacked caring and compassion at a time when I learned I had to put my cat of 13 years down. I almost wish I would have waited to take her to my normal vet to find out because at least they dont treat costumers like they are a pain in the ass.Cost a little over 100 dollars, eighty to just see the vet (who was rude), and the rest to give my cat a pain management shot for the night.
First off, this place is now called MedVet, same location different name. Now onto my awful experiences. They are overpriced even for an emergecy vet. It is $89 just to be seen. First time I went (about 2 years ago), I had taken in a pet rat that was about a year old if that. He was in awful shape, bleeding from everywhere for no apparent reason. The female Vet seriously lacked any caring or compassion (Shes the one far right in the pic I attached). She talked like a robot & told me my rat had cancer (didnt even run any tests but okay). Cancer or not, I could tell he was suffering & needed to be put to sleep.. Now whats strange is, I was not allowed to be in the same room when they administered the IV & put him to sleep.. they said they needed to get the needle into the base of the tail and when its done that way, its done in the back. My vet (Trilby) has put all of my pet rats to sleep while in the exam room so I can be with them & they arent alone & scared. My thinking is, MedVet is not confident or trained well enough when it comes to exotics & the vet is scared there is a chance she may mess up or something will go wrong it in front of you. My vet is an older gentlemen that is extremely well practiced & confident in his work. What other reason is behind them not being able to do it in front of me if they are really PROFESSIONALS?? I received no Im sorry for your loss or comforting body language, just stiff, straight to the point, stone eyes, what will you being paying with today kind of attitude. Second time I went, it was basically the same attitude. I had brought in another rat (pneumonia) & they tried to push so many extra charges at me that even I could see were unnecessary as Ive treated pneumonia in previous rats. Third time I went, I had taken in a 2 week old kitten that was constipated (or so I thought). The young female vet tech took her from me and was gone for about 20 mins. When she came back she nit picked everything I was doing like it was all wrong. I told her I was feeding her every 3 hours (which is totally fine for a 2 week old) but no that wasnt good enough. She got a cocky little smile and snapped her tounge, she needs to be eating every TWO hours) LOL are your serious lady? When I asked her how much should she be eating at that age and she said as much as they can. Well, thats also not true with kittens that small. Over eating formula can cause constipation, which is WHY I was in there! She should have known that, being a vet tech. She took her to the back once more for a temp. Came out and said her temp was 96 which is obviously too low for a kitten. She told me she is cold because I need to use hot water bottles instead of a heating pad.... are these people kidding? They had her out of her crate for over 30 mins at this point and the air conditioning is set to 65 in that place! What are they expecting?! Hot water bottles wont do a damn thing at night once they cool off (which happens quickly). She made a weird look about the heating pads like I was the worst cat owner ever. Well, 3 weeks later my kitten is 5 week old and STILL USING HER PROTECTED HEATING PAD. There is nothing wrong with using a heating pad as long as you know they cant get to the pad itself. Also, MedVet told me that her stool should be solidish & yellowish/brown. MY VET told me everything I was doing was fine from the feedings to the fecal eliminating & that she looked and sounded very healthy. HE told me that she didnt feel constipated and that the stool will NOT be solid at all while on formula & will be yellow. When MY VET said that, I knew she had gone poo. MedVet just wanted me to pay for laxatives & xrays, ect. When she was never even constipated.. These people made everything I was doing sound wrong. Talk about condescending, they are the definition! If you want to be talked down to by ignorant vet techs & taken for a ride (& not the good kind) then this is the place to go.
Some of the staff are nice...mostly the RVTs. Didnt care too much for the Doctors (Especially Dr. Avery)....talk about rude, If you go there under emergency circumstances, expect to wait at least an hour. They are so slow! There is only one doctor on staff to see the pets. Every time I have gone, it was AT LEAST an hour wait for your pet to be seen and its a huge production to try and leave. Very expensive place...if possible I would avoid it. Seems like they keep trying to come up with ways to get you to spend more money. I had my dog in for a recheck after they did surgery and Dr. McCumber told me she was going to send me home with an antibiotic and 20 minutes or so later (while I was waiting to check out) a tech comes up with a list of stuff that the doctor wants to do, including x-rays, and none of this was mentioned in the room at all. After doing the x-rays, the doctor told me my dog would more than likely need another surgery. I was upset and went to my regular vet for a second opinion and she gave him some different food and meds and he has recovered amazingly! They sent my dog home too soon after surgery and then wanted to do another when he had not even had a chance to recover! Was not happy....will not go back again.
Wow, smh, i shoulda read the reviews before i went! They didnt do nothn but sure charged me $89.00 just for going in there. Im not even gonna tell you how much more they tried to get me for, smh, outrageous. And i was the only one there for quit a minute, like, seriously. Do not go to this place unless you have absolutely no other choice!
My dog had surgery and the next day the stitches came open. I went to the emergency vet because this is the place my regular vet recommends on their answering machine. I rush here with my dog wrapped in a towel because the 6 incision was on his stomach and he was bleeding. They take him right from me and put me in a room. They take 45 mins to get an estimate! Then tell me it could be hours before they stitch him because theyre busy. They want to put him under, give him a cath and keep him over night. He didnt stay over night when he even got the surgery. Called another vet and they said they can get him in right away. I say I want my dog back and they charge me $80 for nothing! I pay just to get my dog back and they take 30 mins to get him to me. Then they make him WALK out on a rope around his neck when i told them he has laryngeal paralysis and a collapsed trachea and isnt allowed to have things around his neck! He is bleeding from an open wound on his stomach and they make him walk. I couldnt believe it. I snatched him up and ran out of there. Very unprofessional, under skilled and slow staff. Estimate was $400-$1000, 3 hour wait and over night stay for the emergency vet. Actual cost was $120 and out in 20 mins at Sylvania vet and back home the same day.
Terrible, they do ANYTHING they can to suck more and more money out of you. Please do not take your animal here.
Only care about money would not see my dog unless I had $89 upfront told me to take my dog some other place if I didnt have the money at the time of his visit
For an emergency vet clinic the service is way too slow. My dog was brought in for an eye injury and it took 1.5 hrs before doc came in. Very disappointed
Waited over two hours and my dog was not even seen...
Bad experience
