FYI a reservation means absolutely nothing here. I had a reservation to pickup a rental this morning at 8am. I go and am told they have no rental cars available and/or the ones they do have have expired registration and cant be rented. Sounds like a severe case of horrible business management. Neither excuses have anything to do with me, yet Im SOL for a rental I needed today to go on vacay. I get no courtesy call, no cancelled reservation...it takes me attempting to follow through on a reservation to find out. Never again!I went to Enterprise and thankfully they were able to get me in a rental same day w/no issue.Good luck if you rent from here.

Rented a van for one day. I was told I could drop it off and leave the key in the drop box. I told the manager I would do that. 3 days after returning the van I was charged for 4 days and late fees. I called and the employee was very rude. He said that they always get the keys in the morning so if I had returned it they wouldnt have charged me. As if Im somehow lying about it? Come on, how could you miss a huge cargo van in your 4 spot parking lot? I requested to speak with the manager who was in a meeting and would call me back. I was steaming. He called back and I had to find my contract to get the exact price to refund me. Good thing I found it. He said it would take 15 minutes to update on my card. It has been 4 more days and I have not been refunded. I have since called multiple times and they will not answer the phone. I only used Hertz because I was desperate and now Im paying for it with my time. Dont waste your time and use Enterprise.

Worst experience possible. Being charged $150 to VACCUM the rugs. Then they try to blame a crack in the windshield on me AFTER they were the ones that pointed the crack out to me. Insurance extended the car to today and they tried to make me pay out of pocket. Whoever the one with the thick accent is, is a total idiot and rude as hell.

I went through my insurance and I called to tell them I was on my way to the repair shop so that they could pick me up and the man tells me to call him when I get there.πŸ€”We get past that and then due to his heavy accent he ran my card twice because I couldnt understand what he was explaining. When I finally get to the car its a nice 2020 model. He proceeds to tell me about the dents and no smoking in the vehicle. Only problem was is that as I get into the vehicle it reeked of smoke and Marijuana. So I called the guy to tell him and he said he would make note of it. Never once did he offer to replace the car. I made all the arrangements necessary and I took the car back the next day. The same guy stayed on the phone and barely even addressed me. He didnt even try to offer me a replace car. Never again.

I reserved an Intermediate size car at the Temple, Texas location and when I went to pick up the car, I was given a 2018 Honda Fit (compact). The corporate card (not a debit) I used for the rental had $400 charged to it for a $199.57 rental. The rental clerk said it would be refunded when I returned. The car was used to travel from Temple, TX to Dallas over the next two days. The car noisy, rode rough and cramped. When I returned the car (clean and full of gas) The clerk asked me if I saw that the low tire pressure light was on. I said yes, it had come on during the rental. He then made me fill out an incident report. For a low tire pressure light! He told me that if the tire was damaged or had a nail Hertz would charge me for it and refused to close the rental and give me a receipt. There is no way of knowing that I ran over anything or that the previous customer or even one of the agents did. When I asked to see a manager he said the manager was not at the location.This was my first Hertz rental in many years and I tried it this time because I am new to the Temple area and my usual car rental agency is a little farther away. The Temple location could not have done a more thorough job of making this rental awful.

If you need a Hertz vehicle, this is one of the few places in the area to get one. I tried to work with them to get a car. They had a compact, but I wanted something a little bigger. I did try to walk in rather than reserve online. Sometimes you can get a good deal that way. In this case, I should have made a reservation. They did say they would call when a vehicle arrived. Over 2 days I did not receive a call, and I ended up renting elsewhere.

Got charged an extra $200 randomly on a car that has already been returned, but i get to wait 5-10 business days to see if i get it back or not. So heads up, if you think your total is a number, wait and add a couple hundred more. Dont worry no one can/ will do anything about it..... and fairly certain the manager was high on something. She was acting like her head was in a fog and she wasnt making any sense. I had to keep asking an employee what she was talking about. That was extremely irritating. She also kept saying that she would just call me the next day. An obvious just go away, because no call has happened.After giving up completely on dealing with the location, i reached out to hertz on twitter. It was resolved in 24 hours.

So I started off talking to Elivia on the phone and set up renting and picking up a truck the following Friday. She was very nice. I got a call today Tuesday from a very rude woman who wanted me to start the whole rental process over again who literally told me she couldn’t guarantee me a truck. Said they’d let me know Thursday which by then the week is over. Complete waste of time and her attitude was we could care less about your business. I called enterprise and would recommend you do to if you’re in the temple area.

My daughter was on her way to school, 150+ miles from home and hit a coyote that ran out in front of her in the middle of the night. Hertz was right there with her the next morning, setting her up with a vehicle and taking care of her. I worked with Miranda Wilson in Temple and she needs a raise! She was excellent, kind, and thorough. She walked my daughter through all the steps and let her bring the rental car to Houston to pick up her car once it had been repaired. GO HERTZ!!! You have a customer for life!!!

My wife and I were charged a $400 pet and smoking cleaning fee. We dont have pets nor do we smoke. We had the car for almost a month because we had a family medical emergency happen while we were in California so we had to extend the rental. Since we had the car for so long we decided to clean, vacuum, and fabreze the car since we had no clean clothes by the time we got back to Texas and figured it was the decent thing to do since we had out laundry in the car for so long. While cleaning the car we found dog treats, cat toys and Cheerios under the seats. We dont have kids either so obviously one of the previous renters had been feeding a child Cheerios in the car. We called to let them know what we had found but no one answered the phone and they do not have an answering machine so we called the 800 number and told them. When we got in contact with the actual office we asked if they detail all of the cars when they are returned, the answer was no. Even though we cleaned the car before we took it back we still did not get the car completely spotless. Since there was still some dust and we had left the bottle of fabreze in the car we were told that the car smelled like smoke and that the dust was cigarette ash. Again we do not smoke. They said the animal hair was from us even though we informed them of the pet treats and toys. They said that it was our responsibility even though they admitted to not really going through every car when its returned. I rented through Hertz because they had the cheapest SUV available in the area but in the end they were still able to make up the difference in price.

What is the purpose for having a reservation for a Economy Car if they rent them all out before picking yours up? These individuals working at this location have at best remedial communication skills, yet alone do not care in regards to the customer. These imbeciles wouldnt know customer service even if it slapped them in the face.Progressive made my reservation. I think Hertz intentionally rented out the economy car I was supposed to get, so they could charge me to put me in a Nissan Titan. I know when dealing with Avis or Enterprise, if you booked Economy, but they rented out all the Economy Cars, theyd still send you at the next level up for the same price because it wasnt your fault. Save yourself the hassle and rent through Enterprise or download the Turo App and rent from a local person.

Im use to a wide selection of rentals to choose from- but this location didnt have that option... However- I did receive a clean, working, & up-to-date vehicle.There was a few scratches on the vehicle- but the representative, Nicole, did her job and carefully inspected the vehicle; and notated them so that I wouldnt be responsible upon returning the vehicle. Which was extremely pleasant. :) I felt even more comfortable renting from them- knowing that I wouldnt be charged for something I didnt do. (Because some companies will try and get you)The staff was very professional and work well as a team from what I observed.I dealt mainly with Nicole. And she (on both occasions of picking up the vehicle and dropping it off)- was dressed for success. Makeup nice and simple (not club faced); professionally dressed; and always smiled.This location wasnt busy that I had to wait- which was perfect. Because I was basically In & Out.All the vehicles were clean.I would definitely use this company again.I rent from Enterprise- Budget- etc... Now, HERTZ just added themselves to my options to choose from.This location is surrounded by numerous businesses. So- if you need to get to a gas station before dropping it off- do a little shopping to waste some time- or even grab a bite to eat--- its all at your fingertips.And the fact that they are very reasonable in price- and given me a free upgrade due to, the vehicle I reserved wasnt on the lot, was just a bonus to me.Very pleased with my decision with renting from this location.

I only put one star because I had to, to write this review! I will NEVER use them again and I will make sure no one I know uses them! Terrible customer service, they are absolutely no help at all! I got over charged, the person who told me all the information didnt tell me they would take TWO payments over $600 out of my account. They are just horrible! I would recommend anyone else but them!

Incompetent and time wasting. Phone conversations are difficult due to foreign accents. They blame their deficiencies on corporate or the level above them. Friendly in person was the only positive but that didnt make it a good experience. They dont have much of a clue about what theyre doing. Amateur hour.

Never again. Appt was for noon. Got checked in at 12:15, but my car wasnt ready until after 1. Lady said the gauge was on full, it was on 3/4 of a tank but of course I was responsible for that. If you want to wait around for your car to be cleaned, and be treated with a disrespectful attitude I suggest this location. Enterprise around the corner has never made me wait for a car. $5 a day cheaper was so not worth it.

My very first experience was good, when I rented only for a day! Now when I went back to rent for longer than a month ive officially got screwed by this company. Here it is the first of the month and my account is negative $1500 because they failed to communicate with me. I didnt know how long I was going to need rental for so I would call every week and ask for an extension. The amount went up from 180$ to $203 a week. The last week I called for the extension I was told my amount was biw 380$ so I asked WHY!! Well they took it upon themselves to use my deposit for last weeks extension, I said how? When I saw then take the money out of my account. She said they probably already credited my account the money. So now heres where all the confusion starts, she tells me to go to my bank and ask the bank whats going on. My bank couldnt see anything or tell me anything, so now Im very confused. Well anyway I ended up paying the $380 for extension cause needed the car and said I was returning car after thus extension because I had no idea what was going on and done dealing with these non ass comnunicators at this store, well apparently Ive figured it out now. And I want to know why the hell would you charge my card and then slowly release the money back into NY account??? My account is very active and have 2 people using it.. Now I cant pay my rent, my phone bill or electricity bill and I have two young children. and. also taking care of my 14 year old sister in law.Thus all couldve been avoided if you guys charged me account and just kept itx or at least communicated with me on how things are done so I can be very cautious. I will never in my life recommend this company to anyone or will rent from you again!!!

I received a 2014 Ford Fiesta as a rental car on 6/20/15 that had just been dropped off and had not been inspected properly before I was given the keys after an easy transaction, but was told to wait a few minutes while rental agent ran outside to vacuum the inside. While she was doing that, I inspected the vehicle and took pictures of prior damage, both inside and out.Although, she had quickly vacuumed it, vehicle had not been properly cleaned. Both front driver and passenger seats had crusty stains on them, trash with food left inside in compartments, at least 3 rental receipts from different customers in glove compartment, smelled of cigarette smoke when a/c was on, outside of car was dirty as well with scuff marks, right tail light was broken with a hole in it, license plate was bent and Bluetooth did not work properly. But the worst part of it all was that the car had to be returned early because of its transmission. After reading the manual, I followed the directions and tried to do a vehicle diagnostic test that it offers on the car and it kept telling me service was unavailable (same error message I received when trying to connect the Bluetooth).Even though the customer service at the counter and on the phone were positive experiences, I cannot get over the fact that Hertz put me in a vehicle that not only put my life, but above all, my sons life in danger had it completely broken down on us while traveling on the very busy I-35 highway. Even the manager said that they have had lots of problems with the type of vehicle that was rented out to me and said that if it was up to him ... they would do away with them. He apologized for not properly inspecting the vehicle because lack of staff that Saturday morning. I received a refund for the day the extra day that I purchased, but did not use the vehicle (Sunday), I understood, thanked him and went on my way.***************************************update: On 06/25/2015, after I submitted the survey that Hertz sent me the day before, I received a phone call from the manager at Hertz rental location. Although, I had previously spoken with him when I dropped off the vehicle, he felt the need to call and justify the situation as to why I received the vehicle in the condition it was in. When I explained that I understood and that is why I took the pictures and requested the insurance. The following conversation took place:HIM: You obviously are someone who knows what they are doing when renting a car, so you should be a little more understanding that since there was only one person working and it was in such a short time that you got your car, you should have expected it the way it was.ME: Im sorry, but your lack of staff on a busy Saturday morning, is not my problem.HIM: Well then I think its safe to say that you wont be renting here anymore, right?ME: Yes. But I would like to know what you are insinuating with a comment like that?HIM: *nervous chuckle* Im just saying that since you think we have cars that are not safe then you...ME: OK, OK... SERIOUSLY!!!!! Im going to stop you now before ANYTHING more atrocious comes out of your mouth!HIM: Ok, then. Thank you for your time.[phone disconnects]

This was an insurance rental, the staff at this location seemed to be new and not sure how to complete this type of rental. Once the paperwork was completed, we had to wait for the staff to prep the vehicle (Clean & Vacuum) while we inspected the vehicle for damage. I normally rent from National and or Enterprise and will continue to do so.

I loved the service they gave me. In spite of me not speaking English well and at the time I went there were no Spanish speaking staff they could solve me. It was an emergency situation and thanks to them I was able to resolve. He had gone elsewhere and the experience was somewhat unpleasant. Thank God I was able to find them and have them solve me. Professional and friendly service
