I will share my experiences with you then you decide if you wanna use them.I started using Troys almost 4 years ago. My van blew a sparkplug out of the block and he repaired it. I started using him to change my oil about every 2 months (5,000 miles) because I drive a lot. I bought 4 tires from him and he would balance and rotate them with every oil change. There seemed to always be a problem, not enough oil, wheel covers not replaced correctly or incorrect tire pressure. In July I had to add over 30 lbs. of air pressure on a tire of that holds 55 psi. I had them change my oil September 10th. When I got back in my car I noticed is had a bad miss in it. Troy said bring it back Monday, the #3 cylinder was mis firing. I brought back and got a bill for$692.52. Im not a mechanic but Im having a hard time believing this happened while they drained my oil and refill it. It still ran terrible!!I took it to my old mechanic in Mesquite and they got it running like it was at a cost of another $673.18. They did basically the same thing Troys did. 2 new coils, connectors and plugs. Personally, I will never let them touch one of my vehicles. I will go to my grave believing they Sabotaged my van.

These guys are great! They got me in same-day, figured out the problem with my car and got it fixed quick. The price was fair and was about half what I was prepared to pay.

I worked here briefly at the beginning on the year, Troy is a good guy all around. I now work in landscaping and am succeeding so I have no ties to auto/vehicle care besides working on my trucks or boat, but I do know what to trust and not to, and Troy is a man to trust. It was a whole new trade field for me but I did enjoy the atmosphere of the shop both with his team and his waiting room. Not too many small decorative waiting rooms left, nor trustworthy mechanics. And this group of guys and gals are top notch!

Wow! What a great repair shop. I was in Temple when my alternator went out. Troy and his crew got us in and out in record time and at a very fair price. Hes a super friendly guy with lots of great stories and art work in his customer waiting area. I recommend him highly. Even though our truck was broke down we actually enjoyed being there. My wife and I made new friends today. Oh...and hes biker friendly too.

I highly recommend this place. I had to get my water pump replaced and they did a great job and the price was very reasonable for the work that they do and are honest. They also will drop you off if you dont have someone to pick you up, but I live in Temple though.

I have been going to Troy’s for more than 5 years. I have 2 Chevy’s with well over 100k miles so there’s been a few visits. Coffee in the waiting room. A ride back to work in town has been a big help a couple times.

AMAZING!!! I brought my car in around 11:30 and it was done by 5. I needed an oil change, new calipers, new brakes and my muffler was hanging by a thread. My car is driving great! I was very impressed by their customer service. Since my husband is deployed, I had no way of getting back to the auto shop once my car was finished. They had one of their employees come pick me up from my apartment! He was extremely nice! I will never go anywhere else to get my car serviced. Thanks, Troy & Team!

Troy’s auto care is the absolute best!! And the owner (Troy) is so nice - really cares about his clients and the service he is providing.So I am a visiting medical student and commuting to Baylor Scott and White from austin. I have to be at the hospital by 5:30AM every morning and last week on my drive into town I blew out both tires. I was exiting off the freeway and there was something in the middle of the road that slashed open my tires. It is barley 5AM at this time, I’m a girl in my mid twenties and kind of freaking out at this point. As Im rolling down the street, I see Troys auto shop on my left! I couldn’t believe it but the owner was opening up his shop! Troy was such a gentleman and incredibly nice. Truly a miracle that he was there. He offered me a ride to the hospital so I could make it to work on time and he had my tires fixed by 2pm!! It was amazing!!I highly recommend this place! Great prices too :) !

One of the best independent garages I have EVER visited. Run by family and they treat you like family. Totally honest. If you need work, they offer it. But I have never been offered the upsell, nor have I seen Troy (or anyone else for that matter) try and sell something that the customer didnt actually need. The place is ALWAYS busy. That in itself should tell you something.

In and out in just over an hour at a great price. Definitely reccomened.

Took my car for a specific item to be replaced. The work was done fast and when I got a call saying my car was ready. They told that it was fixed but they had to replace a couple more items (I agree, they did need to be replaced) and the cost went up more then I was expecting. The work that was done is great, everything is working as it should. The only reason they are getting 4stars is the fact that I didnt get a call to give me a choice to replace those extra items. I will still use them in the future.

I didnt even want to give them any stars. All they will tell you is that you need a new motor for $75, they said I need a new motor and NO I didnt just needed an upper intake manifold they are the worst and are lieyer please take my advice and dont ever go there

Troy and his staff are amazing, I used to live around the area but moved. Still drive by so many auto shops to get to his. He will inform you exactly what the issue is if there is one. I highly recommend the automotive shop to everyone in the Temple area and beyond.

Charged me over $100 to weld the sections of the exhaust I had already put on. I was okay with that if it ended there. They welded the pipe from the back to the front causing the pipe to be out of alignment over the axle area. In addition to this, they did not center the muffler before welding and only welded the pipe 3/4 of the way around causing the system to leak at each welded section. I took my vehicle back because of the exhaust leak and had to pay another $80 for them to weld the 1/4 of the pipe not welded before. The muffler is still hitting the frame rail causing a constant rattle. They didnt fix the muffler alignment issue they caused when welding. Troys Auto Care used to be a good quality place to have work done; however, money seems to the reason for being now. I had no choice but to take my vehicle somewhere else and pay more money to have the job done right. Keep in mind, this was a bolt on Flowmaster kit so all they had to do was weld each of the five pipe connections. The thing that really gets me is that when I went to Mikes Muffler Center, they moved the muffler back so it wasnt hitting the frame, welded two of the connections so they were sealed up and welded two more brackets to help support the exhaust. They did this for $20... I am not saying dont go to Troys. What I am saying is they are not at all what they used to be. I was told by the other shop that they charge $10 per weld to connect two pipes. $180 for Troys Auto Center / $50 for the other shop.

Troy and staff performed a major repair to fix an oil leak. In order to make sure it was fixed, he loaned me a car and drove my car to his home so he could verify by observing the surface under where he parked it overnight.To me, that level of consciousness is rarely experienced in a service business.

The waitress was not as attentive as I would have liked. Our drinks were not refilled. The only time.she came.to.our table was to get our drunk order, food order, bring food & check. Nothing else.

By far the worst service Ive experienced at any auto shop in Temple Tx. Troy who Im assuming is the owner got extremely rude with me over the phone and then hung up on me. Do yourself a favor save your money and go elsewhere

Took car in to have tires swapped to another set of wheels. BOTH sets of wheels were damaged and when I asked the manager what they were going to do about the 3 NEW rims they ruined and 2 older rims after they had my car for 5 hours... his response was if I had known you were worried about scratches I wouldnt have took the job. Who takes their car to get me scratches? This place is a joke

If I could do a half... no a quarter star, I would.moms car timing belt broke, not something I felt comfortable doing on my own. read previous reviews, and was on the fence. I took the plunge because they install customer own parts. I called for the labor quote and was quoted 3 hours. (note: I have alldata and this was correct, this will become relevant)I called back a couple of weeks later to schedule the car to come in. Troy tried to up the labor on me to 400 because the water pump is driven by the belt. said it takes extra time for that (remember that 3 hours?) if the pump is driven by the belt, why would there be additional labor. then he tried to bargain. my husband took that call over quick.fast forward to Friday evening when the car was dropped off. I called saturday morning to let them know the car was there. I was asked where the keys were. I told him the wrecker driver dropped them off and they should be there. he said the car was going to be started on and I should expect it to be finished up on Monday morning by 10.and here we are... Monday. I called at 10 am to check on the car and was told it should be done in about 3 to 4 hours because it was started on at 9 am. I get a call at 1 pm saying that the fuel pump is no good. I told him the fuel pump is brand new, less than a month old. he said its bad and its putting out 1 psi and will start with carb cleaner then die. then he wanted to charge an extra 1 hours worth of labor. I told him no that it takes like 20 mins to pull the pump out. he said then come on then. as soo as I tried to talk to the mechanic about what was going on (because he IS the mechanic) Troy just barges in. I went ahead and pulled the pump out and went ahead and checked the fuses and relays (a paying customer mind you) he said same issue. I said I dont know what to tell you, I exchanged the pump. then he brushed me off for about half an hour and comes back to tell me its the fuel pressure regulator. makes sense. I called advance and they told me there wasnt one on the pump. I told him this and he said you parts guys dont know what yall are talking about. (I work for advance) he even told my husband something of the sort as well, mind you he does restorations, builds and custom work. so my husband looked up what Troy was seeing and there is one for the pump (we had never seen that!) my husband apologized. I wasnt going to let this shop touch my moms car anymore. I called a tow truck and took the car back to her house. and since they couldnt start it, they couldnt do a pressure test... so now there is a a chance that the water pump would leak... awesome.boys and girls... do yourselves a favor, steer clear of this shop and if you have some knowledge of vehicles, dont make that known, it will be questioned. dont make the mistake I did.
