Do not get a membership here! Despite placing my account on a freeze during COVID and not stepping foot into this gym for over a year and a half, I was STILL charged an annual fee by EOS. I called and explained the situation to Lorenz Stefan, the general manager at the Tempe/Warner location, and he did confirm that I have not been to any EOS gym or been able to utilize my gym membership in any capacity for more than 19 months now! However, he still refused to even submit my request for a refund to their corporate office. I hope they feel good knowingly taking money from customers who have been unable to use their services during a pandemic.

Matt was very rude and in talking with him for the first time since starting my membership, I had a question about 4 separate charges on my account, in the same day, accumulating nearly $150. He rudely said, “I keep having to explain this to you.”Again, this was the first time I had any question regarding my account. Great customer service, Matt..NOT. Feeling very frustrated and taken advantage of.

Theyve been so good with my kids, the equipment works, they quickly ditched the mask restrictions so you can exercise without choking on fibers... Canceling is close to near impossible! I called the gym and they said to call abc financial. I gave my zip code, I gave my membership ID and my phone number. It went on hold then hung up on me after a long hold. Called the gym back asked for a manager. The guy at the Warner branch told me to call them back. I finally got a hold of them. I said I wanted to cancel. They said I have to pay $50 to cancel. I asked why when I only missed one payment. They said they wont cancel the account until I pay. I said I only owe you $24. Am not paying the $50. Representative Maria said then we wont cancel you and laughed. I asked for a supervisor. Nothing. I told her am going to report ABC financial and EOS for bad business practices. She laughed more. I hung up. If you think this is not true try it. Try canceling and see what happens. We should not let unprofessional people treat people this way. Side note. The laughing woman said she will keep charging my card. I had to call bank to change card. Wow EOS I guess membership is a forever thing with you guys huh?

Of the 3 EoS gyms in Tempe area Ive been too, this one is my favorite. Spacious, clean and well laid-out main floor. Wide selection of equipment: free weights that go heavy, machines (with a hack squat! not easy to find), racks, pulleys, and a turf area with boxes, balls and a workout rig. Good selection of classes too, love BodyCombat!

Frank, Jose, Justin, Liz, the new front desk manager and Berenice RegionalManager (who I happened to meet one day at the Tempe gym) are some great staff to know. Super professional, super helpful and knowledgeable. The kids day care is well kept and definitely to be trusted during the pandemic. At first, I was a little skeptical but not only was my child extremely safe because of their intensive sanitation and care, but also all of the kids care staffs friendliness! Due to the mandatory reservations to keep kids safe, I can no longer use their kid care center because of my schedule. But as soon as my schedule changes and is more fixed, I will definitely be back because it’s been a outstanding experience.

Since my membership was created I’ve had problems. The manger accidentally signed me up for 2 memberships and so I was double charged. When I called back to get it fixed it was on a Thursday and the front desk told me no manager is available because that’s when customers come in to tour the facility. So I was actually told to call back another time lol. When I finally reached someone I was told the manager who created my account no longer works here. So I had to explain what happened all over again to 3 different people. My personal trainer ended up helping me by giving me kJ’s number. Then I was charged my annual fee early and charged twice so when I called front desk and asked for kJ’s help again I was informed he no longer works there either. All in all a very annoying inconsistent experience .

From the back I could see one of the personal trainers, girl with colorful hair more worried about what men were looking at her than actually training the client. Very off putting and attention seeking and not something I’d want to pay for.If you do opt for personal training, I recommend one of the guys, or the other professional women. Like many others I froze my account back in March 2020 and noticed in the fall I had been charged the regular 24.99 fee without notification. I called and they let me know they could freeze my account but I was not told I would still be charged the annual renewal fee and $5 a month during the freeze. I called in August 2020 about this and that is when this policy was explained, however she did not say that this current freeze would only last another 3 months. I called today February 2021 when I noticed a charge for January and February of the regular 24.99 fee and the guy then told me that front desk staff are not allowed to freeze accounts longer than 3 months at a time. He also told me the notes on my account regarding past conversations were not helpful...I was not shocked but I was very frustrated. Managers are almost never available and front desk staff are not empowered to help customers in a meaningful way. I honestly feel like writing a bad review is only way to receive information or help so here I am.

When I called they said it was my annual fee (again not what I had been told when I signed up) they verified me and the phone number they had listed doesnt even belong to me, no idea whose number it was. Talked to the manager who said it must of been a miscommunication. Really? When I had asked if there was a fee and I was told no. The manager doesnt have the authorization to refuund the amount. When you sign up you are given a pad to sign as the sales person talks through it. Be prepared as it is not what they say. As for the manager not having the authorization to refund who the heck does. So this month just cost me my monthly plus annual fee. These people are not up front and trust me I will be taking this much further. If I could give them a zero I would.

Since March, I have made it clear I wanted my account to remain frozen until further notice. And I have called every month to ensure it remained frozen as I believe it is not safe to go back to the gym yet. The last week of July, I called to confirm but there was no response and no way to leave a message or direction to freeze the account online. On Monday, August 24th my account is as charged $15. I called and was transferred to a managers voicemail. Message stated the mailbox was full. I called again, someone answered and immediately disconnected the call. I attempted to call three additional times and every time someone answered and disconnected the call. The last attempt, someone named Olivia answered the call and stated a manager would return the call regarding my refund within 3-4 business days. No one ever called. So I called on Friday, August 28th and spoke with Lauren who said manager Frank would call shortly. Due to no response, I write a time sensitive complaint from the Eos website on Monday, September 1st and get an automatic email saying I’ll get a response within 48 hours. It’s been five days since I wrote the complaint and two weeks since my initial attempt to resolve this with the branch directly. I am amazed and very disappointed with how this is being handled. EOS on multiple occasions, did not stay true to their word when they said someone will follow up with me at a specific time. I am sure several other customers have several similar complaints and I would be understanding but it’s been two weeks with ZERO communication or acknowledgement of my concern. I have been a loyal customer for several years and this is how you show your appreciation of my business with you? All I want is my $15 back. I’m not going to the gym because of Covid and haven’t since March so why should EOS refrain from giving me a refund? It shouldn’t be a huge production like it already and is and if EOS management were competent, the issue would be resolved within a matter of seconds.

If I could give no stars I would.Since the pandemic hit I decided to have my account frozen until things calmed down. I was told by freezing my account I would not be charged any fees so I decided to do that versus canceling to avoid having to pay start up cost when I decided to go back. Later in the year I was charged a $50 club fee when I hadn’t used the club since February and my account was frozen. Everytime I would call I was told the manager was in a meeting and that he would call back and it never happened. Now I decided to cancel my account before it came off the freeze because I don’t want to give my money to a gym that doesn’t care about it’s clients so I called and asked specifically if I would be charged. I was told no that I was on a freeze so I was in the clear. Perfect.Today I woke up to a club fee again called and was given the same excuses I was given the last time. I’m a single mom and the reason I went to EOS is because it’s affordable. I have no job stability now due to the pandemic and i budget specifically to what I know I will be charged. This is the second time EOS charges me after communicating that I will not be charged and all they are doing is taking my money, causing stress, and adding fees to my bank account because I don’t have the money available. Then giving me the run around when I call to hold them accountable for giving false information. I will never return to EOS and I would reconsider joining this club. I would think a company that is “committed” to the health of our community would have more understanding and compassion during this pandemic.

I moved in May when the gym was still closed due to COVID. The minute they reopened I called to cancel my account. Despite canceling in May, I was still charged for June. Apparently it is a normal part of their cancellation process to charge you one last time even if you cancel your account the month before. I would have canceled back in April, but the gym was closed due to the virus, so what am I supposed to do? Then they tell me I can still use the gym until July, except Ive moved about 300 miles away from their closest location. So thats helpful. To all the ladies hoping to sign up with EOS Fitness DO NOT GO ALONE or just don’t sign up. Here’s why. I went in to sign up for just a membership with EOS Fitness, not personal training. I made it very clear to the General Manager Frank that I was not interested in personal training, yet I had to listen to them pitch me a personal training deal three times. When I told them no for the third time Ryan Upshaw, who was sitting at the desk next to me, began to mock and bully me. Ryan, who holds a corporate position, had a few things to say such as “she looks like an 8 with her mask on but she’s probably a 2” and “I work 65+ hours a week and I look like this, she so full of excuses”. I cancelled my membership right then an there due to the unprofessional actions of said employee. Ryan then waited for me outside of the club and creepily stared at me as I walked out. Again, putting me in a very uncomfortable situation. I have emailed EOS about this problem on 11/13 and have heard nothing since. Hopeful that they would respond I refrained from posting any reviews. No response is enough of a response to me. It goes to show that they don’t care about the actions of employees who harass and bully new members. Hopefully no one else has had such an experience as I had.

Little did I know the salesman had signed up those two people under my name, charging my credit card for 3 initiation fees + monthly dues until I caught it on my statement. He must have had a bad sales month. Once I caught what had happened I was overcharged over 700 dollars in initiation and monthly fees... As is typical with a big gym, once I brought it to their attention it was laughable. This was the lowest item on their to - do list. It took them over 8 months to finally receive the final check to return the stolen money from the salesman who was probably trying to make a $5 commission on the extra accounts he had signed up (wells fargo is a good example of this) . Honestly, I am thankful that I am not desperate for that kind of money unlike many during this pandemic, otherwise this amount of money could have been the difference between making and missing a mortgage payment. I understand that a gym membership is something that most people will want to have wherever they are, I would highly recommend against EOS 100%. Unless they take monthly cash payments, I would never trust them with any of my bank or card information ever. They even tried to ask for bank information to process a refund which I declined. Never give these people any of your money.

Dont give any referrals, they will add those referrals as members and it is impossible to resolve. It is impossible to get ahold of the manager Frank to handle your issue. After finally getting ahold of Frank who could not help and was upset because he didnt know what was going on. He they transfers me to his operations manager. The issue was said to take 15 business days and it didnt happen. After canceling in my membership in September due to lack of faith in this gym. I am still getting billed for the month of October 2020. This is my last attempt at getting ahold of someone as I am in Kentucky now.

The experience I had with trainers and general gym membership was positive, however I had a terrible experience when trying to cancel my membership. To elaborate, it was easy to freeze my membership, and was contacted by a representative of EoS at the end that period (August). I made it clear that I wanted to cancel my membership, and they said they would handle it. Two months later, I realized that neither my membership or training were cancelled. On my second attempt to cancel both training and membership on 11/4, I was assured by the training manager KJ that it was all cancelled, and I would not receive any more charges past one on 10/26, and would not receive a refund because whoever contacted me in August didnt leave a note. On 11/15 I discovered that i had been charged again on 11/9, and was told this was a legitimate charge because it was a bank issue, and that my actual last charge date was 11/3, which KJ failed to mention in our conversation. I called EoS a number of times during that period and found the front desk as accommodating as possible with my situation, but I had to reach out to them a total of 6 times and never got back calls when told that Id be contacted. After August I was charged a total over $400, for training alone that was not compensated for after I was told that it would be handled. EoS staff handling general membership cancellation seemed reasonable, but the training department handled my situation extremely poorly.UPDATE: I have been charged once again on 11/23. Lowering my review from 2 to 1 stars.

The gym itself is fine. But the fact that they can freeze accounts for free until the end of the year but not cancel memberships for free is ridiculous.

Facility was clean but staff didnt greet or say a word to anyone walking in or out. 3 staff members at the desk and not one said a word. Guess Ill just stick to EOS off Warner and the 10.

The absolute worst experience with any gym membership I have had in my life.I signed up for personal training but a week after signing up I had to cancel due to a family emergency and having to leave the state. I spoke to the fitness manager (Chris) WHILE DRIVING to California to go be with my family. I asked him to put my membership either on hold so I can get the paperwork he needs from me or if he could just cancel it now. He said he completely understood and will get it cancelled for me. Let me preface this by saying I live off unemployment currently and only get $240 a to buy groceries and PAY MY BILLS.EOS fitness NOT ONLY keeps charging me $148.00 every two weeks but I have called about 5 times in the past month just to figure out why they keep charging my account if I specifically called and cancelled it, but when I just called in today THERE WAS NO NOTES from any of my previous calls in their system. HOW?EoS does not care about their members. They only care about being the sharks they are and taking money from members who CLEARY CANCELLED.I remember I was working out and a fitness manager approached ME DURING MY WORKOUT and said my name and asked if I was looking to upgrade. Do EOS employees live off of commission or something? Like is it that important to get money from their members to bother them during a workout? That has literally never happened to me ANYWHERE ELSE.I do not live in Arizona anymore, it’s on record I haven’t gone to the gym since the last day I was in Arizona (September 3) so they are fully aware of my situation. I’ve called in filled with tears, angry as hell and nice as I could possibly be and no matter the scenario I still have not had help. The front desk guys have been great I’m trying to get me help and apologizing but I still am waiting for a fitness manager to call me so I can get this figured out.I’ve never felt more stepped over and taken advantage of in my entire life. Is it because I am a woman? I really just want to know WHY I am being treated this way.DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER HERE if you don’t want to deal with this kind of drama trying to cancel your membership. Or simply, don’t come here if you don’t want to be treated like a human being.

I was so excited to go to this gym my original poi t of contact was soooo nice and helpful but then I was tag teamed by 2 other guys managers who pushed me into signing up for something that I repeatedly td them I could NOT afford it they promised it could be cancelled after a week. I called and cancelled 2 days after signing up cuz my car broke.I was told that both membership and training were canceled then to find out a couple weeks later after the first payment was taken off my card, that it was not canceled. I called back multiple times they talked me into freezing my account so I did send a couple weeks more it wasnt Frozen so this went around quite a few times before I finally got fed up canceled everything again by the manager. then I was told that I never spoke with him that he never got any of my voicemails or phone call messages left they lie to your face they tell you what you want to hear they just lied lied then they took another payment out. I had to go there in person tried to show them my evidence of all my phone calls to them and they tried to say that no money was removed from my account when in fact it was and I tried to show them that too it wasnt till I started name dropping that I dropped a big wigs name they finally settled and closed my account, but they didnt give me anything in writing. The manager even said NO $$ SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT it was their mistake but refused to refund it!!! for people like myself this was a life-changing event and I so wanted to be a part of it I wont through them I wont through any gym anymore EOS has really messed me up shame on you guys shame shame shame for taking advantage of individuals
