In 73 years of life and 35 years in the service business I have never seen someone so rude, and told wife one thing and when I called told me something else. The price changed when picking up.The owner lacks professionalism and when I called he said not in store at moment it in bar. He lacked the courtesy to call and tell us I do not have whitewall so you are getting black tire.Will not be returning customer and strongly request all of my Tarpon Springs neighbors and friends to go to a different bike shop if need service.

The Neptune team rushed our service and bike rehab so we could salvage our vacation. They provided reasonable service pricing and super quick turn. Fair pricing and great service. Owner and tech were friendly and helpful. We will return as needed!

Wish we had read reviews before coming here. What a terrible experience. It has nothing to do with masks, as someone here posted. It has to do with the most degrading and mean owner we have ever encountered anywhere! We are new to the area, and really enjoy riding on the trail. With our tax refund in hand, we were ready to treat ourselves to new and upgraded bikes. This shop looks so cool and welcoming, but it is not! As we were walking in, a couple was walking out and literally told us not to go in - that the guy in there was horrific . Should have listened. We walked in, both wearing masks. They guy (owner) barely looked up from his phone, when we said hello. Told him we wanted some service on a current bike and wanted to look at some new ones. He said Look or buy? Do you even know what you want? Dont waste my time. My boyfriend told him he was considering a Giant and a Liv for me, but had some questions and wanted to look. The guy laughed and said Evidently you do want to waste my time and just stood there. Obviously we had done some research, and had some knowledge, and were ready to buy. I asked to speak to the owner, and he said You are. We were speechless. You have a great shop, wonderful location, and such a nice job. Why so hateful? It seems he cares about dogs, maybe he would do better with a pet and not people related business?What a crazy experience. Please watch out and believe the reviews, it is nothing to do with masks.

Was very satisfied with this shop. The mechanic was very helpful. He went over and beyond helping me while I was in a hurry to get to a ride. He has Great customer service. I will be back.

Stopped in for 3 bikes but needed some help fitting both kids with the right size. Willing to spend whatever we needed to get the right bikes and support locally. Was told we needed mask so we complied and got out masks. Came back in, we were the only ones in the shop. Was told that they had one bike for my daughter out front. Nothing for my son. Then he shouted at my son for touching a tire rack, then told him to not touch a bike because it was 3500.00. No help offered to fit kids for a bike or help at all. Was extremely rude. We walked out to go to a place that is looking to sell bikes and help customers get the right product.

Only needed one spoke replaced, got charged $27!! Such a rip off. I understand the need to pay for part and labor. Labor for a repair of one spoke should not cost $25!! DO NOT WAIST YOU TIME OR MONEY!

Was the 4th shop I visited looking for a bike. I liked the atmosphere of the shop and the owner was high energy and very eager to get me into something I liked, which I did. Bike was properly tuned and ready out the door. Went on a 12 mile ride that same afternoon and bike performed perfectly. Called the next day because I wanted to add some mods and they got me in no problem. My relationship with the shop consists of one visit (With a purchase) and a phone call, but so far my experience has been great. I read many of the comments saying they were rude and just about every one of them said something about masks, which tells me people dont understand these businesses have to require masks per the County. When I was in the shop we had masks on and I hate em. Owner didnt like them either, but they get hefty fines if people are in there not masked up. Just my 2 cents. I didnt even get to buy anything before being treated rudely by owner, or a employee.I cant imagine business is so good you can afford to lose customers because of poor manners.I went there to buy a bike, 1,000 dollars in my pocket. guy says twice before I can understand what he is saying you need a mask, the older rather shapely man in the furthest corner from behind the counter said! I didnt realize I didnt have a mask on or that I need one. I turned around and walked out. sorry but I like things the way I like them when I am about to hand over one thousand dollars for a want, a toy, rather than a needed item. try a greeting like, hi how are you today next time.

I called 3 separate times to reserve bikes and make sure they had a tandem bike so our family could ride on the trail. Day of, we get there and are told they don’t have tandem bikes. This was all my wife wanted to do for her birthday. I give your business 6 months with reviews like this.

Avoid this place at ALL costs! The negative reviews are no surprise. Customer service is non-existent and owner/attendant was not knowledgeable. We stopped for the convenience of their location on the trail and like others have said, to support local. We were met with hostility as SOON as we entered the shop, it appeared others were being rushed out at the same time. We were immediately backed out of the shop as if our requests were absurd. We were looking to get our son a bigger bike, repair a bike basket, and get a bike lock. As we moved along, we asked ourselves if they were closing for the day. However, it was far from closing time. Save yourself the headaches from this rude shop.

I had to buy a chain from these guys because I drove from S. Tampa to ride bikes with my daughter on the Pinellas Trail and discovered her chain was bad after we had already gotten here. I overpaid for the chain because they are a hole in the wall local bike shop, but the worst part was the grump guy behind the counter helping me. He knew we were in a bind, waiting to ride, and he told us he could replace the chain IN TWO HOURS. I told him I could replace it myself, but he would not let me borrow a chain breaker to remove and re-install my chain. He then snidely told me he could sell me the tool. I understand why shops are reluctant to loan tools, but in my case I wasnt even going to remove it from the shop, I was just going to use it to replace the chain that he just sold me at a premium! Now thats what I call POOR SERVICE. At a time when everyone preaches to buy local and support your local bike shops youd think the shop would be a little more friendly than that. I literally had to buy the chain and then go to the bike shop up the street to borrow a tool to put it on. Aggravating. When I told the guy that his boss would probably be ashamed with him for not loaning me the tool, he said his boss would have treated me worse, and would have probably thrown me out of the shop. Avoid this shop if at all possible.

Very poor customer service. I stopped for the free air they have outside and something happened to the tube. Opened the door (did not have a mask) and asked the guy if he could help me. He was more worried about me standing at the door with no mask. NO, IT WILL BE FOUR DAYS BEFORE I CAN EVEN GET TO YOUR TUBE. NOW LEAVEI went outside and walked my bike South to Tarpon Toms and I was riding again in an hour.I enjoy their free air hose outside on the trail, but that is the only thing I can say about this place.

Convenient place right a long the bike trail. Went in to pick up a patch kit. The proprietor was nothing short of curt, rude and dismissive. Customer service does not seem to be part of this business’ culture. Support this local business? Only if you want to be treated poorly.

I would give this criminal a zero if I could. He’s a RUDE pos. Pretended he knew nothing about my RARE bike that he wouldn’t have forgotten until I located my ticket number charged me an extra 50-60$ with out telling me he just went ahead and did repairs and when I asked why he wouldn’t call me first to get the green light on extra repairs he got rude and shorty and said he can take it all off my bike. I hold it together as I paid for the repairs just to come hone to my tire flat which is one of the issues I was having in the first place. I’m calling better business bureau I’ve never dealt with someone less qualified to run a shop or work with the public.. I can only hope the better business bureau shuts him down so he can’t treat others like he did me... don’t believe me? Look at all the other reviews ..

Ive been to a lot of bike shops in the Tampa Bay arean, and In my experience, Neptune Cyclery is the best. Any other place has about as much energy as a library (nothing against libraries or librarians, but you know what I mean), but Eddies enthusiasm and passion for bicycles is obvious, which makes coming to his shop a fun experience. Yesterday, I just got a Giant Sedona DX from Neptune, and Eddie went way above my expectations to make sure I left the store with the perfect bicycle.

I wish it was a bigger place to house all those wonderful bands and people that were at the First music festival and Tarpon Springs last night. :-)

Rude and crude and not to be used! Went by twice in the past year needing air (after having rented a bike from them before). Chased me out to find a gas station and wound up at Tarpon Toms - who I HIGHLY recommend. Neptune belongs at the bottom of the sea, like its name. Ride right by them and youll be glad you did.

I went into look at buying a bike. I called first and was told come down there open. I went there with my friend and went to walk into the bldg. i was told in the most rude way not to come in. I explained i had called and wanted to look at a bike. after a loud back and forth with the owner we were aloud in. i ask to test drive a bike. again i was verbally abused by this guy who seem to be wired. I finally was able to test ride a bike but when i cam e back and asked some questions again it got crazy with him so we left. I also told him i never write reviews but you are surely getting one and i wouldnt recommend anyone to come here and purchase so much as a bike sticker of that piece of sh&^ company. i didnt even want to give one star but you have to so it will post. We ended up going to tarpon toms and my friend bought a bike there. I am still looking. UGH

Tried calling for 3 hours, phone is busy. Trying to replace back wheel. I was hit by a truck a few weeks ago, and back wheel is warped

I regret my purchase here.The bicycle did not shift properly immediately after taking it for my 1st ride. I played cat and mouse for a week to see the mechanic at the shop. When that finally happened, the mechanic was asked to stop fixing my bike while I took it for a short test ride. The owner told me to come back another day because the mechanic had other bikes to fix! WHY should I have to come back again?? Fix my bike completely now!! He only spent half hour on my bike. My bicycle was $500 which is inexpensive for this shop, but I deserve to have a perfectly working bicycle too! Fixing my bike should be just as important as everyone elses!! I left still unsatisfied with the performance of my bicycle. My new bicycle should be working perfectly! Im taking my bike to a different local bike shop to take a look at the gears and why they arent shifting properly. Then Im taking that estimate back to Neptune to fix, because the maintenance is free for 1 year. If the mechanic is so busy that they cant even fix my 2 week old bike, Augh... It makes me angry. Dont by here. Really consider where you by your bicycle.

Rude and unhelpful. Was told we had to stand by the door and were sold out of everything anyway. When I asked about the bicycles all on display, I was told yes, they are for sale, but you cant browse.I fully understand COVID concerns and precautions, but the place is open for business and there was not a single customer in the place. I guess you can only shop here if you already know which Make/Model you want.Seeing the rating they already have, Im pretty sure poor customer service is their M.O.

Owner cant be bothered to put a shirt on and help with a simple fix. Still charged me for holding onto my bike for almost a week. He should sell this shop if hes more concerned with his bar. Worst customer service Ive ever received in years.

First time at Neptune Cyclery and it will be my last. I went in with my family hoping to purchase two new bikes and was told to leave in very disrespectful way. This guy ask if he can help us and I said we wanted to look at some bikes. He quickly jumps to saying we cant have anyone in the store their only doing sales, parts and service due to the six feet rule for Covid-19. I tried to tell him I wanted to buy today and he quickly rushes back into his office. Remind you the doors are wide open, with open sign lite up. They had bikes displayed on the sidewalk and no signs mentioning a 6 foot apart rule or what their rules were. Luckily there are more cycle shops open in the area that I can spend my $2000 at. I would not recommend anyone to do business with this place from my experience with them. With all that said I understand taking precaution with the current situation at hand. However, this could have all been avoided with proper communication or signeage at the door.

Stopped in randomly to have my cruiser looked at for a clicking noise. After 20 minutes I was charged $25. + tax for the repair. I hopped on the bike and it was still clicking. The repair guy told me that was normal for my bike. Another bike shop fixed the click in 5min. FREE. 🤔

Went in to this place to buy 2 bikes for my wife and I. We thought we were being punked on camera. The service was so bad we thought they were kidding but they weren’t. I bought a Sun Drifter bike here back in Sept 2014. The owner is a really nice guy who had me try all of the bikes I wanted (although it was a drifter I was after), to which he ordered and had it delivered and put together in two days for me. He is super friendly and super helpful. I had gone to two other local bike shops that didnt offer to order the bike for me and just wanted to sell me their inventory. I will definitely buy from Neptune again.

Took my bike in for repairs the owner Eddy great guy, friendly didnt try to sell me a new bike but fixed mine and had all new gear shifters replaced. Very helpful and honest. My bike runs great and by no means is this guy rude. Very pleased with his services

Been in this place twice in the last few week and each time was unpleasant. The lat time I walked into a vicious and loud fight between the owner and his staff, that went on for some time. The owner’s attitude is of making you a favor in talking to you, and overall service the lowest in ever encountered. I can’t believe they can stay in business, I’m certainly never stepping foot there.

Me and my son went in there to see if the store had any bmx stickers for his new bmx bikethe owner or employee ask us if he could help us as soon as he found out all we wanted to buy was stickers he pretty much told us to get out if thats all we wanted, it was like if we was not going to spend a lot of money we was not welcome in his store,would not recommend that bike shope to anyone

Sunday: open at 12:00P as the sign says; complete form, show ID and credit card, size up bike and I was out riding! In and out 10 minutes. Bike in outstanding condition. Rode from the shop to Clearwater Beach and back with no mechanical problems at all. Hassle free return, the next time Im in town and in need of two wheels, this is my go to place! Credit card detail exactly as on the contract too, no security deposit hold like some places require.

Would like to share more but we were literally stopped at the door, told they dont have any bikes, and more or less asked to leave. Weirdest experience...Im still confused.

Yeah, so this just happened. We just walked into the store when they were still open for another 25 minutes. The guy there said hello and that they were fixing to close. He asked my husband if we were purchasing a bike today. When he said we were just looking for today, the man less than politely asked that we leave and to come back another time. I dont know if hes realized that this is retail, but if hes betting on being next to a bike trail will keep him afloat then hes got another think coming. We are looking to purchase a bike, but we will not be returning to this store. I am sad that the gentleman who owned the bike shop across from the public parking location closed shop. We visited his store several times and ended up purchasing a very nice bike for our son from him. He was always very pleasant and would always let us test whatever we wanted. Dont waste your time going to this shop.

At the recommendation of a friend, I traveled out of my way to the Tarpon shop. They helped me find the perfect bike—within my modest budget. Great service, super friendly—worth every mile!

Just picked up my new bike from Trinity Cyclery and Tony was great!!!! Its nice to finally have a bike shop in the Trinity area. The service was great and Tony was very familiar with brands other than his own, which is not that common at other shops Overall it was a great experience and if you live anywhere close to this shop you need to check it out.

Bring my bike to fix my pedal, they did tune up $106 ( I did not ask for)week later I asked to check my pedal again, rudely telling me nothing is wrong ( no noise)

Im not quite sure what folks are speaking of when they say this shop is rude. I walked in and was greeted with how can I help you buddy the minute I got through the door. Im from Philadelphia, and I think I know what rude is...these guys definitely arent. I come to visit family down here every year and always rent a bike at this shop. Incredibly easy and the bikes are always in great condition. They will always get my business when I am in town.

Rented a pair of bikes from Eddie the owner for a 2 hour ride on the Pinellas Trail. Bikes were in great condition, no issues. We got back a few minutes before closing and chatted awhile about the Super Bowl. Honestly, people who have left negative reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. I had been dissuaded to go here but actually felt the owner was knowledgeable and accommodating. Id rent from Eddie again in a heartbeat.

The owner told me they could fix all e-bikes but when I brought my bike in, a Rad City, he said they only fixed the bikes they sold.

Purchased a Giant road bike from Neptune. Ive been very pleased with it and now looking at another purchase for my wife to be. Eddie the owner rides a lot and is very passionate about cycling.

Overpriced for a tune up. Replaced brake cables and continued to have problems with the brakes sticking. Went back twice, never fixed. Called and was told to come back next week and it would cost another $20-30 on top of the $150 I had already paid for the tune up, brake cables, and a tire. When I first went he was friendly but seemed annoyed that I kept calling. I went to Tarpon Toms Outdoor Adventurers and for $4 they adjusted the brakes and they are perfect now.

Eddie is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable. I love the fact that he warranties his stuff. I just bought my son a bike from him for his birthday. My son LOVES his new bike. I bought my son a bike from walmart last year had to return it within hours they gave us another it fell apart. Long story short the bike was switched 4 times and the last one didnt even make it a year before falling apart. No more walmart bikes for this household. Would recommend this bike shop to everyone.

Decided to move up from the big box store bikes, stopped on the way home from work to get some ideas about price, and more importantly... what _kind_ of bike I really needed. Before, I could even explain what type of riding I do, and plan to do... they were telling me that I need this bike, or that bike. I asked if they were open on the weekend, and that I would like to ride over when I was better-dressed to test bikes, and when they realized I wasnt going to whip out the checkbook right there, they both pretty much blew me off.I guess Ill spend my money elsewhere... some place where theyre willing to take a few minutes to listen to what Im going to be using the bike for, and use that information to suggest the size and type of bike I should purchase. Pity, it would have been nice to have a go-to shop right on the trail, only about 10 miles from home.

So.. my Review is a bit late..I was in the shop in oct-nov 2017.. I had been in the market to buy a new bike but since I had not ridden in 20yrs I wanted to really test some bikes before I made a purchase I was checking out brands..And decided I was going to go with a Giant.. Maybe a Roam.. Maybe a Talon.. Maybe Better.. Brought a couple friends in with me who were all in the market as well. I was going to buy the bike the following week.. My friends however were going to buy that day.Well.. there was a bike I wanted to test before making my final decision which he did not have in stock and the owner got tired of us looking around and rudely asked us to leave if we werent going to buy anything. So.. we laughed.. and Went down to Outspokin in Clearwater where the owner and her staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.. And even brought the bike I wanted to test in from another store full well knowing I wasnt going to buy it that day.Well.. my buddies each bought their bike that day at Outspokin.. and I followed up by purchasing mine the next week.. I ride the Pinellas trail alot.. its a shame that Dude has issues because his shop is the closest to me.. and Guess what.. Im buying a second more expensive bike now.. and He ruined ever having me as a customer.

These guys are jerks, they dont care about anyone but themselves. They would rather make personal calls and drink at the bar next door then take a minute of their time to help you. They also close earlier then their posted time several days a week, probably to drink next door, so good luck after 4. Its amazing how anyone could have anything positive to say about this place. Its a joke and a complete waste of time. The guys at AutoZone helped me with my bike and Neptunes didnt.

Too hard to get to. No parking except across the street. No help for this 64 year old, handicapped person to put bike in van.

Went in to ask if they had a tube in the size I needed, and if they could help me fill my tire to capacity. Not only didnt they stock the tube size I needed, but the attendant was INCREDIBLY rude... I mean WOW!!!! kind of rude, nasty even, and absolutely refused to help pump my tire to capacity. Ive never, in my 50+ years, experienced such a horrid person in retail before.

I found this place about a year ago, and have never returned. Sparse selection and grossly over-priced. I found the owner here to be an extremely opinionated bigot who should definitely NOT be on the public facing side of any business. A co-worker of mine recently had the misfortune of being hoodwinked directly by the owner, so I felt it my duty to publicly warn others before falling into this trap.

My opinion....Ive been going to this guy for 7-8 years. Typically I visit once or twice a year for nominal service (ie. tires or tube replacements or chain). I believe in supporting local shop owners over big box stores. Today is the last time I will ever visit that local shop again!!! He was short with me and in fact was rude and quick to dismiss me since I wasnt purchasing anything!? I had a few questions and I am not a tire kicker, but try to ask sensible questions before I buy. He was a smartass (he said, What...you are gonna pay me a couple dollars?) as if he was busy helping out other customers which there was no one!!! As stated earlier...I have gone to him over this period of time and he has a Jekyll and Hyde personality. I never know what I am going to get w/ him or what his problem is regarding common sense business and customer service w/ a smile and being helpful!? Is it unreasonable for me or anyone to expect common courteous? Especially if you are the owner!!! SMH....I am not going to drive him out of business w/ the nominal service and parts I buy from him, but my patience was tested today and I will look to go to a couple other local shops. There are choices around me and hopefully others will read his reviews and go elsewhere b/c it is as I said....5 stars or 1 star....there is no in between. You do the math and draw your conclusions as if he is Jekyll and Hyde. One thing is for sure....people have repeatedly indicated his rudeness! The only reason I gave him a 2 is b/c he did the job in the time he said he was which isnt a quick turnaround neither as well as a bit over priced in those years. Never again! He acted as if he were doing me a favor speaking with me.I explained that as much as I liked my Specialized comfory hybrid, I was losing too much power to the front fork, the weight and the tire size. Could he suggest something else.Eddie explained that buying a lighter bike, without a shock in front and thinner tires would not give me an increase in speed and unless I was ready to buy something I was wasting his time!I was in bike shorts and sneakers, obviously I wasnt going to buy something that minute, but being the only customer in the store, talking to me was the best shot head he had at a sale at that moment.Eddie then said I needed to leave as he owns the bar next door and had to move some beer and to please close the door behind me.A $6-700.00 sale and he was too busy and was asking me to leave.Folks dont waste your time dealing with such a rude crude piece of dookey.There are professional shops that will answer your questions, politely and dont see customers as people wasting their time!This is his response a few moments agoSubject: Your fat gutDude your gut is so big, lose some weight and you will go faster fatty! Place complely smelled of WEED.... Window shopping and not a lot of choices of brands. Salesman said was closing down to go to lunch. Not friendly, this is retail right? Complete ass. Will never darken those doors again

This is a great bike shop with great deals and great financing! I bought a new giant defy.

STAY AWAY!!!! 2 months ago I stopped by to check prices on a new Giant, Was ready to pay cash but he said he had to check the prices and to come back in a few days. I went to another shop the next day and ended up paying $100 less for the same bike and a full year longer service plan. Today I went back for a group ride. The owner recognized the bike I had inquired about, and asked if I got it from him, He then told me to GTFO, called me a stupid N@##ER, a Fat F@#K and several other profane insults while throwing me out after I had just purchased some energy stuff from him and had inquired about buying a $2000 wheel set. WORSE YET while on the group ride consisting of about 40 riders from across the area he antoganized me for a good 2 miles calling me a fat F@#K and further using the N-Word and other profane remarks. WHAT EVER YOU DO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Stopped here to ask the guy to adjust the seat on a bike I had rented up the road a ways as I did not have the tools. He was rude, said the other bike shop needed to get new bikes, obviously did not want to help me and in fact didnt although he pretended to. And it wasnt like there were other customers in the shop Go to Tarpon Toms instead

Owner same route I touch the bike you said don’t touch that for $3000 but like I couldn’t afford to buy it if I want to do

I was disappointed in the small selection compared to other shops.
