I take my kid to this place every Wednesday. Coach Shelly is awesome and she teaches kids on level 3 and above here. She interacts with the kids and make it easy for the kids to learn the tricks.

Staff was friendly, facility was clean social distances was encouraged and all staff wore mask, I felt safe to be there. Also the skating instructor was very patient with us I will be back.

We got there at 2:50pm for their Sunday 3-6pm skate. They had a private party going on so we weren’t allowed to enter until 3pm. Instead of getting started with taking money and getting people ready they popped in to say all adults had to fill out a liability form and then disappeared again.3pm came. We were the first people in line.They took our temperature, our forms and we paid them.Went to get skates but when I asked for blades they told me I needed a ticket from the front desk and it costs $1. No problem but I was just there and if they would have asked me if I wanted to upgrade to blades for $1 I would have said yes. I go back up to the front. Wait... waiting is a main focal point in this review. Get my ticket for blades. Return to the skate desk. Tell the guy I need a size 9. He tells me they o my have blades in size 6,7, and they have one pair of 8s. We were the first people in line so no one else had them. The actual rink only had those sizes. So I asked for my $1 back which of course meant going back to the front desk and getting it. Got a pair of skates in my size after 20 minutes of going around. They are your typical been around since the 70s skates, uncomfortable as heck.We finally got to skating. They actual skating was fun. It’s a nice big wooden floor. Did get a little crowded but that happens and is one of the little joys of a skating rink.My wife was getting hungry so decided she was going to get French fries to snack on. It took them 30 minutes to make a basket of fries. 30 minutes! There is one guy working the “cafe” and he is being pulled every which way. During this time there in another employee in the middle of the rink peddling cheap neon glow items. At one point the line at the “cafe” was 12 people deep. Focus on what’s making you money. You need at least two people running the cafe during your busy time.Then the roof started leaking.They put a bucket on the rink, you can tell they have done this before and is probably an ongoing issue. Should be fixed immediately for everyone’s safety.In the end I argued with myself over 3 or 4 stars because at the base of it we enjoyed out time there and will probably go back.I gave it three stars because; you have to bring your own blades if you want blades, you can’t eat there because it takes forever, and they are too understaffed and focused on the wrong issues to make the experience any better.I do hope this review helps because I want places like this to be around for a long long time.

This place is so awesome. Normally I would take my kids to United skates on Armenia but chose to take the drive and try this place out and let me say it did not disappoint! They were great! Very friendly and wasn’t even that packed so I didn’t really have the worry about covid. The music was on point and so was the food. The price was good to. Staff were very kid friendly and super accommodating to the needs of everyone in our party. We will definitely be going back here as this has become our new place to go have a good time skating. Keep up the good work guys you all know how to make sure families have a good time out. Definitely recommend this place!

We are here prob twice a month. So much fun and a great way for the kids to get active. Staff is friendly and they have great management. Parties are affordable and pizza isnt bad!

Went over to have a regular skate session and even paid the extra 2 dollars to get the upgraded skates. Comes out the skate they gave me were defective and I almost had an accident. Went over to get another pair to find out they were defective aswell and they told me after that they don’t have any other skates of my size. Had to get a refund dont waste your time here just go to United Skates instead

I hate to leave a bad review but I wanted to get this out there. Most the staff were very nice and I had a great time here the other night. However, when I first went to enter the building, a security guard told me I couldnt enter unless I covered up because it was against dress code. Normally Id have no problem following rules, but nowhere on their site did they say there was a dress code, so it felt unfair to be denied access due to this. I was just wearing shorts and a cropped shirt barely above my belly button, since I do roller derby and knew I would sweat a lot. I had no idea they had a dress code even though I checked the site before hand. I had to change into a large sweatshirt down to my knees in order to enter, and skated in it the whole time. I overheat and pass out very easily, so while skating I took off my jacket for a second to catch my breath and the same security guard yelled at me to cover up. He was very rude and I honestly felt uncomfortable because he did not leave me alone the whole night. He stood next to me while I was with my boyfriend and any time my jacket came off he yelled at me to cover up. Eventually my boyfriend went to the manager who was very nice and explained that they do have a dress code, but said I could just wear my jacket around my waist. However the same security guard still got on me even after this. Im not complaining about the manager or the location themselves, I just feel the security guard dude could have been nicer, and It should be obviously stated online about their dress code. (My apologies to the other workers at this location- youre all great but i just felt the dress code and the security werent fair)

I was in that store, I went to the cashier area and asked for a beer, those who are there are minors and we understand that they cannot serve alcohol, very good !! What is not right is that he called someone who did not pay the slightest interest to go help him after they had charged me, so I had to tell the young man who was very kind, to refund the money. one of the young people walked around the store, looking for someone for more than 10 minutes and did not find anyone responsible.

I literally am sooooo disappointed with the pride skate night door man. Every time my friends and I decided to go to skate word (Been going there since elementary school) he is BEYOND rude. We where in a group and a friend left. Tried to give me their drink ticket and the door man whom also is the bar tender told me I couldn’t have the drink bc “I already had a drink” that ticket was PAID for and why is he the police of drinking and fun. I do not think you should continue to have him work the door he is BEYOND rude and too worried about what a group of 30+ year olds are doing. No one was belligerent or breaking any rules. Please do better skate world and make pride skate an enjoyable experience for all. That starts w your employees.

I specifically asked to take a photo when I turned my skates in.We had a group of 26 teens that arrived at different times. There wasnt any confusion and they made everyone who came in feel so welcome.Also, I witnessed staff in various places throughout the night. Maybe they are low staffed, but I saw a great team effort running the evening from 6 PM - 8:30 PM.The music was teen friendly and there wasnt and rambunctious activities going on.I even saw security respond knowledgeable to medical emergency where someone passed out.We are certain to return. After reading other reviews right before I am writing this one, Skate World is under new management. Well, you can tell. It was an awesome time.This group will be back.Dr. Rogers

This place is just as magical as when I was a kid! I took my son for a Saturday beginner skating lesson. We loved it and the instructor was great! Such a happy place with great music and lighting. I love the glow in the dark concept.

This is a popular hangout for middle school children. There doesnt seem to be a bad element to the groups that frequent the location. The chaos inside is only rivaled by the unsanitary conditions. The food is terrible. The icees taste funny. Pizza is absolutely horrid. Prices are very reasonable and the actual physical location inside is well maintained if dirty (reminds me of a chuck e cheese level gross) but the kids have fun and it seems to be a safe place for them to let loose a bit.

This place is absolutely the worst The security is not good at all will pick and chose who he wants to let in and I SEE WHY BECAUSE HE PROBABLY GETS PAID $9 AN HOUR so united skates can kiss it. It’s honestly not worth it and i wouldn’t even go to united skates because they’re working together and I will not give my money to EITHER OF THESE BUSINESSES! If I could give this rating a zero star I would.

SkateWorld is my favorite rink in Tampa mainly because they host a Pride Skate once a month. I get to enjoy skating as my authentic self! Otherwise, the facility is maintained well. The AC is kept cool enough that I dont sweat while skating and the music is great!

So, I can say, it was very fun! I had a great time, but, the pizza is something you should stay away from! I got a nice, cheesy slice of pepperoni pizza, is smelled goo and it was some of the best I’d ever had, I had a stomach ache, which was odd, and I was having diarrhea, the pizza gave me food poisoning, so yea other than that it’s good and I recommend

Great place for teens. Your experience will get better over time as you learn to skate better. Takes time but once you get good, you enjoy it much more.

Enjoyed my sons 10th birthday party. The whole staff was Amazing and Amber was very helpful with everything.

It is nice enough, the ceiling is falling in and half there games dont work or print tickets but theyre prices are very reasonable and the kids had a good time with glow skate and floor games.

Skateworld was cool...at first. I was excited to visit this rink after reading a few reviews on here and checking out the information on their website. My biggest complaint is that you can ONLY skate backwards when the DJ announces backwards skating. It ruined the whole vibe of me actually enjoying my skate and I felt restricted to work on my skating abilities. I respect rules but this one is just...wack. Also roof leaks, bucket and trash can with cones on rink floor.

Its roller skating need I say more, bring the kids and even grandma because they will all have a great time here. They have pizza and games for the kids and wings and beer for the adults. Great music and atmosphere for all.

Great skate park! The parking is a bit rough, however, the interior is clean and decently spacious. The music is great, the DJ kept everyone jookin and groovin.

Over all, the skating was great. The only thing that needs improvement is the staff. I believe there should be some more staff. I did not try the lazer tag.

Did my daughter birthday there and was one of the worst experiences ever. First we were told the birthday was for 3 hours from 3:30 to 6:30, when in reality was only until 6pm. Our host had the bad habit of disappearing and I had to continuously go the bar to refill the pitcher of drinks. I have never done a birthday there, so I will follow the advice of the party host. She told us the norm is to eat pizza, sign happy birthday after and then give the kids the coins to go play in the arcade. Well once the pizza came out and we sang, we gave the coins to the kids and the arcade was closing in 10 minutes. Most of the kids left with all their coins because they couldnt play. On top of that half of the machines were turn off or not working. So I had 20 kids trying to play in just 5-6 machines. Told the manager about it, which his answer was Sorry, you were given the wrong information and didnt do anything to make the situation better. For how much money I spend, I was expecting a lot more. Then the kids go to skate, but they stop skating every so often for games that mostly older kids can play. So the little kids were outside the skating ring watching, when they wanted to be skating. I selected that place for the birthday so the kids can skate, not so they be kicked out of the ring every time they want to do a game. Also they stop skating 30 minutes earlier to do a dance party and the only one dancing was the DJ and maybe 2 other people. Kids want to skate, not dance. Honestly horrible experience. I wouldnt recommend to anyone. The pizza was garbage too. If you are charging me $30 for one cheese pizza and drinks, at least use quality ingredients. It was like eating cardboard.

They asked if I had a shirt on when I clearly did and said I couldn’t come in because a piece of my stomach was showing. I was dressed appropriately and how I would around my family. Be fully covered I guess.

Did my daughters 16th Birthday party here. Management was great, our personal party person was not that attentive to us.

The place is dirty and dingy, especially the restrooms. There isnt a large variety of arcade games to choose from and a few machines were down when I went. The staff seem nice and friendly though. A bit expensive in my opinion, and the music is a tad too loud in that I could barely hear the employees speaking to me a few feet away.Skee Ball game only awards 12 tickets regardless of your score and appears to be a bit malfunctional, so dont bother with it.Overall, not horrible, but definitely in need of improvement in a lot of ways, including hygiene and prices.(Edited to add photos)

This place was horrible! Honestly it needs to be shut down and remodeled and the games replaced!

Skate world did a great job providing a fun family experience during these challenging times. They were cleaning as often as staff could and making sure masks were in use. Our family had a great time and it definitely made our weekend alot better.

I liked it because my grandaughter is only 3 and she wasnt made to skate one way like the other place we went and i like how open it is you can sit and watch what is going on compared to the other place that is closed off we will be coming to this one from now own

The place is nice and clean and good environment but the music is wack so it doesnt motivate or pump you much to keep skating.

Super mean service; family night, more like Mormon commune night!Yikes! They are super sketchy swag-haters! They smell like they probably don’t brush their hair that often. Maybe 4 times a week. If that.If the chum bucket was a roller skating rink, it would be this flipping place— but that’s an insult to the chum bucket!

Very fun its kind of difficult to skate wearing a mask but thats just how it is during these times definitely still a good time

Man what can I say about this place? It was my place to be back in tha day (89-92). I was 17 & new to TNC, just moved down from up north. I was here almost every night skate session. The owners, staff & HCSO deputy that worked there were all kind. I remember when they built a dance floor near the bathrooms, I was up there most of the time. It was a awesome of them to build that. Before wed dance in front of the skate booth on the little wood floor there. What great memories Skate World made for me. I hope to return one day soon.

Went with a group of friends and had fun. The staff was very accommodating and very helpful. Several different types of roller skates to choose from. The facility was clean and everything was working properly.

Beautiful huge wooden floor and the graffiti artwork throughout the rink is incredible! The staff are always kind, courteous, and willing to help. They have several varieties of roller skates (and rollerblades) available for rent incase you dont have your own. As avid skaters, this is hands down one of our favorite rinks.Birthday parties, private parties, public sessions, adult sessions, and various skating class to boot! This rink has it all. Dont forget laser tag and arcades games too!

Everything is good the only thing is the music. Not that i dont like it because everybody has is diferent and likes diferent things but the thing is that there are hispanics sometimes a more than half of the people hispanic and while that being the case, i think they should put more hispanic music, idk, it was good till they changed the dj.They need a hispanic dj because they put everything not just spanish or inglish, like the last one he put everything and he was op👌🏻

Very bad experience! Truly dont recommend this place to anyone to bring their kids or celebrate a birthday party. We came here for a birthday party and the only thing good was the music. Games machine $1per play for tickets after spending $20 I had 100 tickets, you have to manually count the tickets because they dont have a machine to count them and the tickets you cant exchange them for candy you have to buy them $3 each (wow). Seriously need to be more transparent and honest. Brittany was good and apologize for the confusion. (Management correct the issues and focus more on customer experience not everything is about making money 💰 stop being so greedy)

After careful consideration I gave this rink a generous 3 stars. The website is beautiful and I drove all the way from Sarasota, a good hour and 10 minutes from us. We saw an ad for a Trolls Skate. My daughter is obsessed with the trolls movies and when I saw that poppy and branch was going to be there OF COURSE I was going to take her. We got here and there was about 7 cars in the parking lot. Yikes... we got in and I immediately noticed no trolls decorations at all! I was wondering if it was the trolls skate or if I came on the wrong day or something but the girl said that it was. I found it also strange how bright it was inside. Normally the lights are dimmed or dark and there are colored lights and disco balls but none were on. They had all the building lights on and on the rink itself if you looked up and tried to see if there were any strobe lights on and they were on, but you couldn’t tell because the regular lights were on so bright.I have been skating for many years and never saw all the lights on like this except when the session is over and it’s time to leave they turn everything on. I asked the DJ who told me he didn’t know why and acted as though he really didn’t care anyway. The “trolls” came out which was poppy and dj suki not branch, and didn’t seem very exited. We got here on time and left ten minutes early and they played one trolls song on the way out the door. Bummer it wasn’t actually playing during the skate. The music was kid friendly which was great though. I bought my daughter something from the gift shop and she gave my daughter the toy and said two dollars please. I reached out to give her the cash and a buzzer rang and the girl said oh that buzzer means I have to go help someone else and she walked away.I saw another employee go behind the counter and I said can I pay you for this toy and he said yeah, so I give him the money and we go out and then the girl comes running over to us and said “you have to pay for that”. I was like I paid already to the guy over there. We went to go get pizza and drink with our tickets and the guy gave us one pizza and I told him I gave him two tickets and he forgot and looking to see if I did then finally gave me the second one. Just a cluster. We brought our own skates so I can’t rate the quality of their rentals. It was alright but so much could have been done differently to make today a really cool event and maybe had a better turnout!

Dont even bother...IF they have skates theyll either be the wrong size or broken. Food is a joke it took them 35 minutes to make half cold cheese sticks. They were burning food left and right so it stunk of burnt pizza. Half the games are out of order. Just save your money.

Wow..was the word.The music was great,the food was hot and fresh, customer service was great and the prices was so low that you wouldnt have a reason to say you couldnt go skating.

My granddaughter had a birthday there today. Great hostess Camille. Pizza was good. Skate time was 2 and a half hours. Bathrooms need work. The doors to the toilets do not secure well. I would book another party there.

It is a good place to celebrate your childrens party. Those who work there are very friendly. The price of the party package as well as the food is good. The decor of the party area is quite acceptable, you only have to complement with balloons and particular articles of the subject that you have chosen (the photos on the wall are very nice). My only suggesting is to assign an employee to attend each party. On the day of my sons birthday there were 3 parties at the same time and a single person to attend 3. Of course that person was extremely busy and could not attend to all at the same time.

Fun both times I went except both times they had a/c issues. 1st time it was completely out. It was almost unbearable, they had to open doors. 2nd time it was just hot inside.

Our grandsons birthday party. Staff was cordial, efficient. Pizza was good. Ordered mozzarella sticks. They use a pager device alerting when your order is ready. Nice and clean. Kids well treated eith skate games.
