Pep Boys continues to be awesome quality service. Ive brought three different cars to them over the years, Eddy and the crew continue to give me prompt and great maintenance to my vehicles everytime. Will continue to come here whenever I have car trouble.

I came on a Saturday morning for a quick tire fix and they had me in and out in 5 minutes. The gentleman who helped me was awesome. I will definitely be back!

Wow! Everyone at this shop is extremely helpful. I called and talked with the manager as I has a small tire that was leaking on the beads. He said bring it by and they will check it out. I waited 5 minutes and they had it fixed. These guys kick a$$. I just moved down the road and need alignments and service on 3 of my vehicles. I will for sure be going here moving forward. Today me and another customer walked in 30 minutes before closing, both with flat tires. Gino and Calvin (Cameron?) did not have to help us with such a late request, but they went out of their way with only 1 mechanic to help me and this lady replace tires on both of our cars (which took them 30 minutes past closing time). I never leave reviews on google no matter how bad or good my experience was, but the favor they did for me and this other customer is something that I dont experience often and needed to highlight. Cant recommend this place enough, hard working team. Dont come in 15-30 minutes before closing like we did and make their jobs harder!

After having read a number of reviews here, it seems as if my experience isnt unusual. The practice here seems to have the goal of just filling the books with appointments regardless of whether they have any intention of actually honoring those appointments, (they dont). It doesnt matter if theyre made that day or a week in advance, you can go in for brake pads or an oil change (relatively small services) WITH an appointment and be made to wait for hours. There is NO honor in their service. If you go here be prepared to wait the entire day.

Okay so let me say Vinny and clarence are great!I see a lot of reviews about many shops, a lot of people complain about being told they need additional work. Let me tell you, vinny is great and talked me through the work needed for my vehicle and also helped me diagnose an overheating issue on my grand marquis 07 and let me watch as he tested my fan motor and fan. Amazing customer service by the mechanics! Great service! I am very happy!

I dont care for Pep Boys. They are overpriced. They work is $80 good one tire. Then they advised there was a promotion for 4 of them at $562 plus tax. And this is for a 2005 Audi A4. I had them out air in the tire. Do that I could take it to my tire shop. They didnt seem happy about that also.

This place is that type of place that will lie to you so they can make you do more then you have too. Be very careful! I wish I had come here before to see the reviews. I wasted my time bringing my van here for a simple tire repair. They said I had to buy new tires when it was just a small nail in the tire. I brought it to another place and they fixed it in 15 minutes. I didn’t even mention the guys that work there, they don’t treat customers well. They have no ideas how to run a business. This place will close the doors soon.

I went to this facility on Jan 3rd hoping someone could help with opening my gas door cover that was stuck on my GLC300. Not only was I pleasantly surprised how helpful the staff were but they knew what to do & fixed it immediately. I’m very thankful for their assistance. Thank you again & will be a repeat customer

I purchased a full set of tires for my car about a month ago, Sean helped me by finding the best option available while price matching and making it very easy for me. Recently I had a problem with one of the tires, Josh and Eddy helped me get my tire fixed very easy and efficient. They were very respectful and attentive. I will definitely return to this establishment. They also gave me more options and information regarding the health of my car which was greatly appreciated.

BE AWARE This location is a SCAM. Car Battery died I knew it’s under warranty called Pep boys on Bearss. Told me they couldn’t do it that date and will take sometime to get paper work from other location for warranty. I told him I have all the original receipts when I bought the battery so that wasn’t necessary. Ended up making a appointment when I got there they want to charge me $80+ Stating they don’t carry that brand battery anymore. Keep in mind mines haves 30 months free replacement. They ended up not even having a battery for me. Drove to the Florida location they made it super simple testing old battery and changing it “FREE” No lie about pep boys not carrier that battery anymore. PLEASE BE AWARE AVOID THIS LOCATION SCAM.

Needed new windshield wipers for my son’ handicapped van. Called first and reached Sean - asked him if they had the RainX Weatherbeater wipers in stock. He confirmed they were in stock and they could put them on in a short amount of time. Explained I am high risk for Covid and did not want to come inside. I arrived within the hour - parked in front of the office and instantly Sean came out to assist me. He personally put on the new wipers, checked the air in my tires and took my payment inside, came back outside to give me my receipt. Superior service!!! Thank you! Janet Stobaugh

Refused to help female college student mount her new tires on rims and balance. Terrible customer service. Who turns down easy labor $$ ? This place.Spoke with Eddie 1 of the managers after they saw my review.Eddie was willing to do the tire swap after I spoke with him. Due to tire arrival and his schedule, work was taken elsewhere. But a thanks to Eddie for willingness to help. Still not impressed for their reasons. Noone was going to want warranty on the tires at Pep Boys expense. It would not have been an issue if the tires were shipped direct to them. HUH!? But, I will add a couple of stars for his willingness to do the work.

Inspite of scheduling appointment a week ahead, I was informed that they do not carry the filter for my car after 40 mins of waiting. Rude and unprofessional service.

Scheduled an appointment for 3pm to change only 1 tire... took them 2 hours. I should have bought 2 tire bars and did it myself.. worthless mechanics.

The workers here are extremely rude. They clearly do not want to be working there. They shouldn’t be rude to the customers because they’re lazy. Should’ve gone somewhere else. The dude was also weird about giving a paper receipt. I hope I wasn’t scammed as my battery has a warranty.

These guys really go above and beyond for their customers. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They are always happy to help, and answer all your questions. If its not something they specialize in they tell you where you can go and research the cost. They dont try to get you to buy a whole bunch of stuff you dont need, and they do free inspections. We brought both of our cars in and ended up spending way less than we were quoted at other shops. Henry was fantastic, he kept me updated and told me what needed to be fixed without pressuring sales. He found quotes for a hybrid battery replacement after he had to break the bad news to me, and he helped ensure I was getting the best price by telling me what deals and rebates were available on the work they were doing. For our other car, despite how busy they were, the manger Shawn took the time to explain and show us what was wrong with it. We had it fixed at another shop, and suspected that it wasnt done correctly, but the shop kept insisting that it was. He pointed out example of what was wrong and gave us some great suggestions on repairs and how to save money on them. Shawn and his staff helped us out immensely and we cant thank them enough. It was such a relief to find an honest auto repair place with amazing staff, and fast affordable service. We will definitely keep bringing our cars here!

I had an appointment at another branch of pep boys and I ended up going to this one. They located my appointment and offered a high mileage synthetic oil change for 64.98$ and also recommended some other fluid changes but never forced me to do so. So far I think it was a good experience other than the fact that the decal they put in for the next service fell on my face while driving. Overall, it was a good experience.

Unreliable service 👎🏾👎🏾 Booked an appointment a week in advance for 9 am, arrived at 8:50 am and left by 9:21 am since they seemed not to care about my time🚫. Came for a simple oil change, at that🤦🏾‍♂️! Takes any certified mechanic 10-15 minutes tops to handle. Weird location, anyway. Wont be back anytime soon 😆😆👎🏾🚫

Ive been a customer when this garage was Just Brakes and have returned now that it is Pep Boys. Shawn is an awesome manager who goes above and beyond to make sure you receive the best service. He will do everything he can to give you the best deal and is honest about everything. The mechanics are also kind, friendly and polite. My truck has always been fixed and ready when Shawn says it will be. I have never had a bad experience here and will return for anything I need. Thanks Pep Boys, youre great in my book!

Service was pretty quick. The demeanor of the front desk workers could have been better. I had an appointment as soon as they opened and the guy at the front desk with the locks in his hair seemed upset that I was on time because they were still setting up their computers. Another guy, I think he was the manager was a bit more polite. The workers out back who serviced my car were quick and efficient.

One of a few places I called for tire prices for my LE1 Camaro. My size is 245/40R20 & 275/35R20 and the price given was much better than Olin Mott Tire, but after a few more calls in town, I decided to try Amazon and that is where the deals are at. Yes I said Amazon because they are now in the tire business. All you have to do is select the tires with the installation option and they will either send them to your location or a local Pep Boys or Sears. The installation will already be included, so no hassle and no one arguing about your tire size. Best deal in town and across the country.

Eddy & Josh did a terrific job! They were able to change my headlights same day and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. 10/10 would recommend!

If I could I would give more than 5 stars. I always come here to get my oil changed, for new tires and whatever else maintenance my vehicle may need that they are able to assist me with. They are always so kind and professional. They always let me know what needs to be done to my car and explain why. And I love that they take the time to go over the price for you and show you what you are being charged for before they begin to work on your car. They know my face now because I am a returning customer and I will be for as long as I live here. Keep up the amazing work.

I’ve been coming to this location for all of my oil changes and car issues since 2014. I’m a student at USF and don’t know much about cars. These guys have never overcharged me, are always quick and take pride in honesty. They always show me the issues with my vehicle upon request and explain to me the issue so I have a better understand of my car in the future. They help me find discounts and even let me know when there are available coupons to help me out. Love this place! Stop by for excellent and quick service!

Shawn was so nice with helping me getting a new tire put on and was very quick about it. They discontinued the make of the tire I wanted so he got me a deal with another brand. Very fast, efficient, and good quality work. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

Shawn and his mechanics were awesome! He gave me a good deal on the brake repairs that I needed, and he kept his word on how long it would take. He has a great personality and his very friendly to everyone who comes in for a quote. He is also very knowledgeable and brutally honest about what repairs you need and dont need. Plus, I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you go by and get a quote for any vehicle repairs you may need.

Once again, Pep Boys saved the day. They were honest in what NEEDED to get done right away, and what I could wait on to get fixed in the future. Just mortified with the changes here. I have been coming here since the change from the previous building being green colored. I met a manager by the name of Shawn who was just fantastic with his personality and it was apparent that the crew surrounding him fed of his energy. Well, now that he has left, this place gets negative 100 stars. Always someone new when I come here and when is Pep Boys going to realize to stop letting the great employees walk?I am a college student who came here from NC and I was always treated right. Three problems later, I am at another garage replacing the same components that Pep Boys screwed up. I will never come to another Pep Boys again and I just see that the turn over is a problem created by the upper management and corporate. Eventually it will catch up to this company. My friends and family will choose elsewhere.Bottom line --------------> PEP BOYS SUCKS!

Told me I needed all new brake pads and that my rotors were too worn to be machined...so they said I needed new rotors as well. Because of my past experience, I wanted to get a second opinion. I went to another mechanic, who did his own inspection AND let me see first hand that my rotors were in GREAT condition, and that all I needed was new pads and to machine the rotors. Long story short....Just Brakes quoted me $950 ish bucks and I got it done at another shop for $399.99.... the mechanic I used said yea, a lot of shops do that because putting on new rotors is a lot quicker (more money) and also they make more money for selling the new rotors. ALSO- they told me they found 3 other issues with my fluids which would cost nearly $300, to include flushing my radiator. The business that did the job for me could not find ANY of these issues on my car either!

We had the best service at the Pep Boys, Bearss location. Both Henry and Penny were so very welcoming, and helpful. We love that fact that you can set an appointment online, and the oil change specials were a plus. Penny went out of her way to find the brake rotors we needed, so that the service could be completed the same day. We totally recommend this location!

Our truck broke down right next door to Pep Boys so we pushed it into the parking lot. We were told Pep Boys mechanics would look at our truck and provide us with an estimate. We were told it would cost $89, which could then be applied to the bill if we got our truck fixed there at Pep Boys.The estimate came in at $1,100. We decided to have the truck towed to another mechanic.Pep Boys would not give our truck back unless we paid $107, so much for the $89 we were first told.We ended up fixing the truck for $217. A $4 hose at the repair shop was $97 on Pep Boys estimate.We are shocked and will never use Pep Boys again.

I want to thank Sean the Service Manager, I walked in the store feeling irate and kept my composure and waited my turn to talk to him and he was extremely helpful. I felt like I was being overcharged for my service and he took his time and went over my invoice with me and found an error that saved me almost 200$. Its easy to feel like these people are money hungry and what not but I really appreciated him for that. Sometime being kind and patient will get your point across better than walking into the store with an attitude. Thanks so much Sean!

Shawn was super helpful and helped me get a good deal on some engine repairs. This Pep Boys location was recommended by my roommate who had her brakes fixed here. Highly recommend this place, they explain everything so clearly and they seemed very trustworthy which is a bit rare when it comes to mechanics. I will be coming back here for everything car related from now on.

Awesome place. Totally deserving of 5 stars, had my car towed here, needed a new starter and 2 new belts and they were helpful the entire time. Needed to replace the battery in my car also and Henry one of the workers drove me to switch the battery out since it was still under warranty at NAPA down the road. Very nice guys. Gave it a couple of weeks to calm down before I wrote this review. I was quoted a price by the manager a month or so ago on service. When I called recently, the price went up several hundred dollars. Come to find out, the manager I first spoke to was very upfront, he matches a competitors price and he was knowledgeable. I spoke to a female the second time and she sucked. Over priced and she wasn’t very informed of the types of parts accompanied by my services. I took my car to Christian Automotive and they honored the first price. I own 3 cars in our family and Pep Boys lost my business. Very bad customer service experience here.

DO NOT get any services here. Very unprofessional and skeptical. My girlfriend and I took our Toyota Corolla in for an oil change and the service manager, Sean Montanye was incredibly unprofessional and RUDE. Upon picking up our car, he didn’t explain to us anything about the service done or any issues with the multipoint inspection. After paying he could not find the keys to our car and searched everywhere and finally found them. After that, he handed us ONLY the key and did not give us a receipt or record of the services performed on the car. I asked if he can provide us a copy of a receipt and record of the services done and he replied with a rude remark of “I can provide you a video record too” with a condescending laugh. This location is incredibly sketchy and unprofessional, that being said this is the SERVICE MANAGER, Sean Montanye who was absolutely dishonest and rude. In addition, when we arrived to pick up the car the technicians were in the parking lot playing around with an electric scooter. Take your car elsewhere for service or take the risk of not getting the actual services done to your vehicle with an unprofessional, rude demeanor.

It’s my first time here at this location and I was greeted by Angel the manager with the best attitude, even when I came in 30 minutes before they closed for an oil change. Everyone was insanely friendly, helpful, and honest and the lobby was extraordinarily clean. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend it to all my friends and family.

This pep boys came highly recommended at USF and they did not disappoint. The manager Shawn is awesome and his sales guy were really helpful despite our lack of car knowledge. My parents were happy we found these guys since I’m from out of town.

This is the spot I ultimately choose to get 4 new tires. They were so willing to work with bm and find me a good deal that I couldnt walk away. The crew was super dope and helpful. Great to find a spot close to me that isnt looking to take advantage.

Prices are rip off!

THE EMPLOYEEES IN THIS STORE ARE SCAMMERS. If you want a trusted mechanic to fix your car for a fair price DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, i came to this place to get my brakes checked and tires rotated, after they inspected my brakes and gave me a list of the things that had to be done on them for a TOTAL of $2300 only for the brakes i told him this price was way too high. Then He tried to LOWER IT to $2000 if i got their PEP BOYS CREDIT CARD and paid the amount due within 6 months. The next day I went to other 2 stores to compare prices and they both told me that MY BRAKE SYSTEM WAS COMPLETELY FINE AND THAT IT NEEDED NO SERVICE, plus the CUSTOMER SERVICE sucks one of the workers asked my girlfriend if SHE WAS STUPID? And told her she knew nothing about cars because she said that there are other places that do the same service cheaper. REALLY THIS PLACE IS NO GOOD, THEY WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU SPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT THAT FAMILIAR WITH CARS.

I have been to several different pep boys around Tampa over the last two years and this location is my absolute favorite. Every employee has a personality worth interacting with. Ive always respected the amount of dedication this shop gives me as a customer. I know I can always trust leaving my car in their hands. They also do an amazing job explaining things to me in terms that I actually understand. This location will do everything they can to cater to my cars needs. And my car has been the most difficult thing to work with so these people are SAINTS!!!!

Shawn is awesome, he’s definitely willing to work with you and give you a great experience. SOME people aren’t so happy about paying money to get their cars fixed, but Shawn is willing to go out of his way to make sure you’re happy with how your car turns out. :)

Been here a few times and I travel here all the way from Town and Country because their honesty is worth the miles. The manager recently went out of his way to get a part for me over 50 miles away as I was stranded with a coolant leak. Superior Customer Service. These guys rock!!

Rude, condescending. Made an appointment for an oil change, was told there was at least a 2 hour wait when arriving for my early morning oil change. Wont take coupons that are printed out. Would only put in expensive oil. Avoid at all costs, bad business practices

Eddy diagnosed my bad coil off a code reader. These Jettas usually have problems with the coils. I told him couldnt wait until the next day, and would do it myself. He told me where to get the parts, about how much itd be, and then refused the cash tip I offered him for the advice!This is the only person I trust on my car now. Just made a customer for life!Pep boys - whatever eyoure paying him, double it. He should also be training all of your employees!

The only place I will take my car--the mechanics are thorough, and efficient, pricing is incredibly fair, and they really care about you and your car here. Staff is friendly, understanding, and flexible. I would recommend this location in particular to anyone in the greater Tampa area.

UPDATE 11/18/19Pep Boys reimbursed me for the money I spent getting another diagnostic on my car to find the correct problem with the car. So, I can say confidently that Pep-Boys will stand behind their work and own their mistakes. Im grateful that they reimbursed me. Ive raised my review because they owned their mistake and reimbursed me for the extra money spent to remedy the mistake. Going forward, I would make sure that if your vehicle has a problem and you have doubts about the diagnosis, make sure that the Pep-Boys shop has an advanced technician working on it.UPDATE 10/4/19After being told that it was a loose air filters causing my problems, I decided to get a second opinion from a reputable, independent, repair shop. They found that one of the coils that Pep Boys installed was defective. Great. So I took it back to another local Pep Boys, had them replace it, and now my car is fine. This begs several questions: “Why did I have to go to another car repair company to get, what should have been, a pretty obvious diagnosis? Second, I’m out an extra $500.00 after having to go to another company to get the right diagnosis because Pep Boys got it wrong. Will they compensate me?In response to the review I left, they asked me to email them and they’d investigate. Sometimes I feel that companies post things like that to make it look like they care. Well, I responded with all the documentation. We’ll see if they make this right. I’ll update.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Customer service was good. Edward and the other manager whos name escapes me were very good. My problem is with the diagnosis of the problem that my car was having. One morning heading to work my engine light came on and the engine was hesitating and sputtering. It felt like the engine was going to cut out at any moment. I finished work, and since this Pep Boys was in the area, I took my car there. After doing a diagnostic, I was told that the engine coils needed replacing. It cost me $1000.00. If that were to fix the problem I would have been okay with that. However, 5 minutes after leaving the shop my car started doing the exact thing that had led me there in the first place--the problem had not been fixed. I had left Pep Boys at closing so I couldnt do anything but leave my car at a parking garage that I found on the way home and Uber the rest of the way home. The next day I Ubered back to my car and took it into the same Pep Boys again. After being there for several hours it turned out that the REAL problem was that my air filter had been loose which had allowed all kinds of dirt to circulate through my engine. The technicians did what they could to clean the engine and I was basically told to hope for the best and perhaps take it to an advanced technician if the problem wasnt solved--which unfortunately it wasnt. Based upon what I was told, having dirt in the engine would eventually mean having to get a new engine. It is what it is. My problem is having to spend $1000.00 for something that didnt solve the problem because it had not been investigated thoroughly enough the first time. Now Im in a situation where I will have to replace an engine that has some brand new ignition coils that I wasted $1000.00 on.

Came in for an oil change bundle on the phone when I made my appointment the guy said its oil change w filter tire rotation and inspection with fluids topped off. Like most other places. But when I went in all I seen was the guy doing the oil change, no matter if its busy I expect quality. He then came in and ask if I was ready. I asked him if he rotated the tires. That was a no so he went back and did my rotation. But did not insect my brakes. So now I dont know how long the life of my brakes are. They also forgot to put air on my tire. Very professional. I have known the manager for a little while now and he has proven to be very loyal and trustworthy. It is a nice feeling to be able to bring your car to a garage where you know you wont be taken advantage of. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Was hesitant to take my car to anyone but my mechanic when I moved to Tampa. My car stopped turning on and I was thinking it would likely be a small issue. The car was over 10 years old though, so I wasnt surprised to hear that the engine was failing. It got locked up and at that point, ruined. Henry explained everything to me honestly, there were no tricks, I got multiple opinions from different locations. I spoke to Shawn as well whom did everything he could to tell me what to do as well.I began the conversation with requesting to change the oil and filter, thinking that doing this may cause it to turn on. After they saw what was wrong they did not do anything unnecessarily. They could have changed the oil and filter as I requested and charged me for that. I ended up not being able to pay for a replacement engine and was not charged for anything that was not necessary. Thank you for your help Shawn and Henry, you made this situation suck less.

Nice friendly atmosphere. They do an awesome job and don’t try to squeeze you for every penny you have. Most places try to sell you things you don’t need. I have never experienced that here!!

I had a great experience here. Shawn and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I had gotten 4 new tires put on and aligned. Afterwards, I noticed that the anti slip light was on. Talked to Shawn, brought it in right away, they got it checked out and fixed up. Great customer service and very responsive!

Just purchased 4 tires, pulled out of the lot and instantly heard grinding. Ended up they didnt tighten my wheels completely (only hand tightened) wheel almost came off. The guy had to walk down to tighten the rest and as he was doing it one of the balance weights fell off. Talked to the manager and he basically said there was nothing he could do. I will never come back to this place again for fear of safety and knowing the work done is low quality, as well as low customer care.

$200.00 to change 4 spark plugs that are right up on top with nothing but a plastic shield that has 2 screws to remove it in the way? I dont think so! I was born at night, but not last night baby!

I always brought my car to this place, until early this month when they wanted to charge me almost $800 for changing oil gasket. Well I took my car to another mechanic and he did a great job an even changed the spark plugs for $500. In that process my mechanic informed me that in my last oil change in April with this same Pep Boys they didn’t change my filters so my new mechanic did it at no cost to me. This people charge you for everything but they don’t do it. I will never come back to any Pep Boys.

To all of you with the overpriced comments... Check their competitors (Tire Kingdom, Tire Choice, Good Year) prices before you post negative comments... Their prices are VERY competitive, and they will work with you. You people expect them to work for free, I have news for you, FREE doesnt keep them open, they are in business to make money.

Had my tire plugged up here today. They were extremely prompt in getting me in, quick service, and staff was polite, respectful and very friendly overall. I am from out of town and a female so oftentimes get nervous going in to get my car looked at anywhere, but would definitely come back and recommend this location. - Lada

Chris (I believe the manager) made sure that he understood the issue with the car and clearly stated the options to resolve the issues. All the guys there were very friendly and extremely knowledgable. The estimate for service was very reasonable and the work was done in a reasonable amount of time. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who needs work done on his/her car!

I thought I only needed brakes, however I honestly do not know anything about cars and I certainly drive my car like a horse. I went to a few other locations and of course they tried to get me to buy all kinds of things, but it was only Just Brakes that showed me that my back brakes werent even working. It was only Just Brakes that walked me around my car, while the manager had my father on the phone, and gave us a detailed description and visual of what was wrong. The manager then tried his hardest to give us the best financial deals based on the parts I needed, and even allowed us to break up the work into more than one visit over the matter of a month, while still validating warranties on parts. DEFINITELY can not complain, wonderful service, friendly conversation, and a beautifully working car.

Shawn gave me a very terrible customer service when I called in. He spoke to me as if I was begging for the service rather paying. This is the second time I have had such a treatment. He spoke angrily with cheeky answers sometimes answering my questions with questions. very rude.

This place is awesome!! My Charger is always a priority when I bring it here and the Manager Shawn always goes out of his way to make sure I never over spend. Superb service and everyone I know comes here and feels the exact same
