Service was amazing!!!! The views were beautiful and the food at the restaurant was also very delicious. The decor was beautiful with the tall ceilings and upgraded elevators. Across the street is another Marriott hotel and you can use their services as well. Downstairs is a ice cream parlor with great flavors!! This hotel is centrally located to everything also.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel!! Im not a world traveler by any means, but I DO have a tendency to ramble from time to time...since becoming a BONVOY member, I can say for sure I will not stay anyplace else!! I have visited several hotels under the Marriott banner, but this one was by far the best!! (I said the same last year of the AC Hotel in downtown Atlanta) The room was ASTOUNDING! The views were SPECTACULAR! The service was UNPARALLELED! (Especially Angela at the pool deck, and Sam with bell service) Everyone was so courteous, I could not begin to name them all! I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel!!
Stayed here for a conference. The rooms are great and very clean. In walking distance to some great restaurants. Staff were all great from the valet and bellman to the reservation staff. Several restaurant options on site. Only one comment for the hotel, in the elevator you have digital pictures/ads and there is a misspelling on the one I’m putting on here. Sorry…I see things like that and it bugged me the whole time. Lol. I would definitely stay here again. Also attached to the JW with a bridge so you can enjoy their restaurants and amenities as well. Well done Marriott!
Very nice hotel. Super clean, extremely comfortable beds and convenient location to the city/airport. If renting a car, prepare to Valet as they dont have on-site parking. Not too badly priced, but more of a heads up on timing as it can get a little backed up during peak times.
I love this hotel. The rooms, bathrooms and amenities are exceptional. I am hard pressed to recall a hotel of this size that has perfectly nailed so many factors. The staff provide excellent service and are very thorough in how they approach my needs as a customer. Location is perfect, especially if you are in town for the Tampa Convention Center. I could see myself coming here every year like clockwork.
So far best Marriott property I have stayed in Tampa Downtown. Clean modern rooms, outstanding service. Thank you Water Street Marriott for your hospitality and great experience!
Great location, staff was extremely proffessionnal and went out if their way to help with whatever you needed.
At first appearance, this is a beautiful hotel in a great location. But after meeting a very friendly front desk, things did not live up to an expectation most would expect. Upon walking into our room, I quickly realized that the room was never serviced. Someone had slept in the bed, there was a cold cup of coffee left in the coffee maker and an open bottle of water on the desk. After a call to the front desk, I was provided a different room down the hall. While the room down the hall was at least cleaned, there was a pet urine stain on the carpet (the hotel is dog friendly), the shower conditioner was empty, it was missing a dining table, and the upper shelves were very dusty. We ordered room service only to find when the food came, we had nowhere to eat. On line there are pictures of a small table in the room. We did not have that table in our room so my wife and I had to take turns eating at the desk. Lastly, our keys stopped working the second day. As I mentioned, the hotel is beautiful but the room cleanliness and service needed a lot of help while we were there. We ended up checking out and moving to the Hilton across the street. I would have reached out through the website but I could not find anywhere to send a private email. Ill also mention, they did offer us a $100 credit on our 2 night stay which totaled over $750 but the price we paid was not met with equal value. Id stay at the Hilton across the street.
Got a day pass for the pool and a day bed while on vacation with my mom during the week. Bruce the pool attendant was so sweet and friendly! Unfortunately there was some lightening and the pool area closed. We went down to the bar to try and wait out the storm and Jerry the bartender was awesome and kept an eye on when the pool was opening back up for us. Pool was beautiful, clean and not crowded at all. Would definitely come back!!!
Excellent hotel that pays attention to detail & are very accommodating to your needs. Staff are super helpful & friendly & do not hesitate to help or accommodate in any way. Rooms are super clean & well maintained. Lots of amenities too. Food @ the Hotel restaurant was very good & the location of the hotel was in walking distance to most points of interest. Would highly recommend if staying in downtown Tampa
First night, hanging by the bar and the severs were very welcoming and patient. I appreciate two servers one Clarissa because she was not pushy with picking a drink, but offered a great selection, I love my drink. The second doesn’t have a name tape on, kind gentleman tall and slender, was very observant and notice my discomfort with a guy in my personal place(female by herself at the bar) and very professionally, kindly helped out without any issues occurring because of it. So far my experience with the staff alone is incredible thank you.
I enjoyed the smooth check in process and how quickly I was able to get to my room. There wasn’t a brochure to advise you where things were located, but there’s some signs around the hotel and in the elevator that help guide you. The room was nice and clean. The water view was beautiful, especially at night. I didn’t want to leave the balcony. My only complaints would be the floors were dirty and house keeping kept rushing our stay. I was asked at 945am as I was heading to the pool if I was leaving and needed cleaning I told the house keeper no, not yet.My partner was laying down trying to nap and was woken up twice, due to house keeping. Although we placed the privacy tag on the door, it was still disregarded. After all, we still left the hotel 25mins prior to checkout.Otherwise, the food was great. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel, but I would suggest allowing your guests to enjoy the entire stay without interruptions.
Clean, beautiful surroundings.Only thing that could use a little more consistent attention would be the pool bathrooms. They were pretty bad. But everything else halls, elevators, pool area, lobby and boat deck area were picture perfect
Great experience. dont get the octopus at the restaurant
We had a great stay, but valet lost our car for almost an hour one day and 2 other days took about 30 minutes, even after calling down to have it ready. Why pay for valet to still have to wait that long for the car?
The decor was phenomenal, the entire place was a palace! Super upscale! Very luxurious! The restaurants affiliated were delicious & the customer service was amazing. Jennifer who checked us in was especially awesome & deserves recognition!!!!!! We stayed on 15th floor, the be well section & the shower heads are infused w vitamin c & the shampoo has essential oils. The balcony was incredible. We loved the cabanas & pool & the DJ Up there was fire. We had such an amazing time & we also did the package where you get discounts on the water taxi & 2 complimentary drinks & the valet included (it’s worth it).
Should I ever find myself back in Tampa, I wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay here! Whenever I was in town to attend a concert at the Amalie, this was my top choice for accommodations. The rooms were clean and orderly, staff were friendly, and most everything was within walking distance. Once renovations were completed back in 2019, the hotel had a “good as new” feel. The only thing that was in need of some TLC was their on-site dining option(s) but that very well could have changed since my last visit.
Positive: The location. Negative: They wanted top dollar but did not back it up with service. We paid for a four star hotel but did not get one. We wanted to sit by the water and have cocktails but received attitude upon sitting us and then the bar was out of most of the liquor
Very nice rooms, pool, gym, and restaurants. Theres an Ice Cream outside if the building to die for. Cant wait to visit again.
Had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the General Manager, Ron McAnaugh at this beautiful hotel. The hotel is spotless, very well furnished and above all, friendly staff throughout. Great job to all the team helping make my visit absolutely perfect. Thank you, David Bender.
Super clean, friendly and helpful staff, good food, though still scaled back due to covid. Loved the pool area. Room clean and comfortable with a great view of the fireworks display for the TAMPA Lightening Stanley Cup Win.
The hotel itself was clean and modern and the sleep well room was very nice as was the balcony view of the fireworks. But with 1 exception the staff at the hotel was less than helpful. I was there as part of a group and asked about having a basket of fruit in my room so I could entertain some colleagues one morning. They wanted over $150 to provide a fruit basket for 10 people and couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to do a full catering order. I asked about a taxi to go to dinner one night and was handed a slip of paper with a number that when I called was told was in Orlando.the front end staff never did assist in getting a ride. Thankfully I can use Uber. And trying to get anything other than room service was next to impossible as they kept changing the dining hour and if they would seat you inside or not. Finally the shower is just dangerous. It looks great but the tile on the floor is the same slick tile as the shower walls. First time in it I almost slipped and fell. I asked about some kind of mat to put down and was told they don’t provide those. I was in the neighboring JW Marriott several times and found the team there to be much more helpful and accommodating that the Marriott Water Street. Certainly wouldn’t be a place I would choose to stay at on my own with many other great options nearby.
I enjoyed staying at the Tampa Water Street. Food was delicious cocktails were delicious and my view from my balcony room was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff with the exception of my request of my trash being emptied once it became full house keeping didnt empty it I had to empty it myself. Outside of that I reccomend Tampa Water Street and I will return one day.
Great location and room was very nice needed to be finished under window, but very nice staff and accommodating.
Although this hotel is pricier than what we are used to, their word was their bond. Everything was clean & well-maintained, service was fairly prompt in the face of conwentioners and potential hurricanes, and the staff was very courteous with one exception. Not going to spoil my 5 stars! As a part of their housekeeping policy, we were awarded daily hotel credits. We were offered another nights stay should the hurricane hit. Wonderfully located; got to witness enthusiastic Bolts fans. Sorry to miss game 5!! Dont pass up the Tampa Marriott Water Street.
On Tuesday, 8/3/2021, a colleague and I were checking-in after a comically bad day of air travel, and talking about upcoming trips...Michael, who was helping us, overheard our conversation & put us on the Stay Well floor. Best customer service ever! Thank youMichael!!
First time staying at this hotel. Ive stayed at other Marriott hotels across the country. This might be my favorite of them all. It was clean, modern design, and right on the water. Our room had an amazing view. The restaurant at the hotel was an added bonus. The rooms were comfortable. The neighborhood and other dining options was a delight. Close to many other eateries. The valet were very fast and my car was perfect as I gave it to them. Definitely recommend staying there if youre ever in the Tampa area.
First thing’s first, these guys know customer service, and they go out of their way to provide fantastic, world-class customer service. On top of that, the facility is clean and absolutely gorgeous. We will be back!
Lovely location and pretty hotel. Room was comfy. Sad I didnt get a chance to hit the gym or pool because they both looked great. Got the burger from room service at 10pm and it was excellent. Yeah, no complaints.
Jennifer Rind at the Front Desk made our stay absolutely amazing! From pre check in, all the way through our stay she delivered white glove customer service, absolutely stellar! Marriott is lucky to have her. Shes an asset any company would be proud of. The property was fantastic as well.
Excellent place to lounge poolside.
Had a Hertz rental car place on 3rd floor not much signage on how or which way to go to get to it got fitness and a bunch of other things first person we asked had no clue what part of the floor it was but second one got us in the right direction like more back on left side area
Tried to call and change a reservation! Was unable to do it.... sat on hold for 25 minutes with a scratchy music playing.... it sound like I was connected to a fax machine... Nobody ever came on the line! deiced to cancel the reservation as I was waiting.... so I called back later in the day..... could not talk to a person!!! disgusting service...
Great lobby bar atmosphere. Rooms were clean and staff was helpful. If you can get an upper-floor room, the views of both the city and the water are great.
Everything was on point. Nice hotel. Great staff.. good food.. amazing atmosphere..
Daughter had wedding reception in the hotel. Everything and everyone was outstanding. Highly recommend
Had a great stay! We were upgraded to a better room with a balcony great views!! Love the pool and the fact we could use the JW Marriott pool as well was great.
I left a lower star review earlier due to the horrible service from this hotel and of course, they responded with a reply that clearly was one used for others who had similar negative experiences. For being such a beautiful hotel at a great location, the service is shockingly poor. By the time we cancelled our last few nights earlier, they still hadn’t fixed the WiFi issue and still hadn’t dealt with the service issues we had. I’ve never left a hotel due to poor service but can assure you my husband and I will never be back.
Unfortunately one of the worst Mariott’s I’ve ever been too. The location is nice, but that’s about it. Checked in online still took me 30 minutes to get my keys when I entered. I was upgraded for my status and the room was still the size of a closet. Rude bartenders and servers. The tuna I ordered came out black and rotten. The manager was great, but overall you can find much better in downtown Tampa
Marriott Hotel, highly recommend this place. We will be back!! Staff is super. Kudos to best friendly staff. We will ne back often. Well maintained
Lovely three nights right in downtown Tamp. Can’t wait to stay again! They also take care of their Marriott members too.
A great hotel next to the arena downtown. Connects to the newer JW Marriott where you can use the pool and fitness center.
This hotel has offers excellence! I highly recommend this hotel.
I stayed here during Metrocon weekend. it was also my birthday. I was able to check in early and get my keys. I was able to get a cart to take to my room. We had a lot of belongings. Since we were parking a car at a friends, to save 100, they let us go up and unpack and come back and go to drop off the car. the bed was huge and very comfy. my daughter was supposed to be with my mother all weekend but since she dropped her off early, I was able to ask the front desk to deliver a pack n play for her to sleep in. Housekeeping also made our bed Saturday too which was nice. We had Starbucks while there. They do close early though. We forgot our bathing suits so we didnt get to swim. Maybe next time. I do wish there was more carts/bellmen for check out though. We ended up taking all our things down after waiting awhile. He came to our door right as we finished so we let him help the next person. We were able to store our belongings and enjoy the last day before being picked up and loaded up. I loved the lobby area. It was very spacious. I would like to try the bar here next time. We had a Chicken quesadilla and fries from the Top Golf Swing Suite that was in one of their restaurants too. I would definitely come back here again in the future.
Great place for a stroll, walk or run. Plenty of places to eat.
Excellent outside dining.Upgraded room was great.Very clean and a friendly staff.
Awesome place....chef Ryan is there and is a great awesome person and I miss you sir
Nice room - good viewNice lobby - good onsite store
Good hotel. I didnt pay for it so it was even better than five stars.
If I ever visit Tampa again, this will be my go to place to stay. Keyless entry, clean room, beautiful views and friendly staff.
Clean rooms, COVID safety measures were taken to make guests feel welcome & safe. There were several large groups staying at the hotel that week but checking in and out was long and tedious because only 2 people were on staff. Bed was comfortable. Room was basic but did not have a microwave. Instead they were available on the 5th and 15th floors. How a person would know that without asking is beyond me. Overall the stay was fine.
The hotel and amenities are actually very nice. Service, although hospitable, was SUPER slow everywhere. Check-in was an annoyingly long wait, getting served in the restaurant was challenging (although our server both days, Marco, was very friendly and accommodating when he was there), the line at the pool bar was easily 20-30 minutes, and the valet situation was a cluster at best. And other than valet, it seemed the only issue was the hotel not having enough staff scheduled. All that being said, the food and drinks were excellent, the hotel is immaculately maintained, and the water views are stunning.
The room and housekeeping was good. But the overall experience was not good because of having to pay more than what I was told for the Convention I was with and also having to check out and check back in everyday
I am a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member. I loved the service, rooms etc. Unfortunately the room I was in had bed bugs. I can show pictures as proof. I have stayed at Marriotts around the states sometimes 10 months out of the year. You dont become Titanium overnight. I really wanred to give a 5 star review but this is first time I have encountered bed bugs.
We enjoyed our stay, the room was nice and clean, the 15th floor was the Stay well floor. The only negatives were the drain was clogged but they came up to fix it fast. We ordered room service and both of our meals were amazing.
Not only hotel suites but has boat slips as well. Not too pricey.
One of my favorite places to stay. Very nice and clean
This is a beautiful hotel and the front desk and bell staff / concierge are excellent. The wait staff have attitude and the food is mediocre. But beware, management will sell major parts of the hotel like the back patio to private parties and not only will you be banned from access, you will also be blasted out of your room with loudmusic. I wont be back.
Very accommodating and great people and service. Rooms were great and the only thing and I mean only thing is the Pool isnt heated and the shower doors dont stop the water from getting on the floor.
Hotel is clean and beautiful. Service, wonderful.
Room was nice. For the price wifi and breakfast should have been free. 12.95 to use the wifi is ridiculous in this era. Restaurant attached was okay, but also way overpriced.
Why 5 ⭐️ ‘S? Because of “Luce” the kindest most generous woman who goes above and beyond customer service. Yes, the hotel is gorgeous… when do you remember being a customer served with a beautiful heart and smile ? It’s been rare since the “pandemic” to have any appreciation that you’re a customer… spending money with a huge corporation, only to be treated disrespectfully. However Marriot has exceeded the ratings bar with all of their employees at this property and evidently have found the prize jewel‼️💥employee with Luce⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A huge promotion, raise, should reward Luce and hopefully she will be training other Marriott employees to have the spirit of excellence that Luce exudes. Thank you all‼️
Luxury 5 star pampering, all at your fingertips! The best of the best! Love, love, love it!
Awesome hotel right on the water. Everything feels majestic. Theyre connected to the other Marriott (JW Marriott) by a skyway pedestrian bridge on the third story, so amenities from both hotels are available to all guests. A few restaurants and bars, rooftop pools, cabanas, balconies overlooking the water, you really cant beat it. Not to mention theyve got a Starbucks! Lol
Great breakfast burrito, drinks and classy place to take a little break.
Beautiful hotel with every amenity wanted. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Honestly, I wish there was a 4.5 option because that’s what the place is, the pool, gym, spa, and places like that were great. Sadly, there was no free breakfast but the restaurant on the 1st floor was great, amazing omelettes, tea, and overall great, kind, and funny staff. The room was ok, the bathroom had a lot of nice features. The pillows were fluffy at first but once you lay your head down they become paper thin but other then that the beds are pretty ok when it comes to comfortable-ness and the room itself was pretty.
Friendly staff, very nice water view, comfortable clean room.
Positive: Everything Negative: More food selection would be good
We stayed here during Super Bowl 55 the entire staff were all amazing and super hospitable! They have Beautiful bay views from our room, a rooftop pool overlooking the pier and a Great fitness center with all the right equipment for a complete workout. The rooms were very spacious and clean with extra comfy beds and that warm cozy atmosphere. We Absolutely Loved every moment at The Marriott!Highly Recommend!
It’s okay but it’s not too bad It’s also great
Phenomenal hotel in a great location with amazing views. Jonathan Medley goes above and beyond to make our stays very memorable at this location. We stayed at this hotel multiple times and we keep coming back due to the friendliness and professionalism led by front desk managers Jonathan and Stanca Nan. This is our favorite hotel in the area and will always stay here when we are in Tampa.
Excellent waterfront location. Next to Amalie Arena, and 1 block from free trolley to Ivor City
If youre looking for a spectacular place to enjoy yourself this is the place you and your making enjoy yourself highly recommend
Very nice from the outside really didnt stay there we took my sister in law back after we were w/ them at St Petersburg Beach which was a blast
Extremely disappointed.. I waited on the phone for over 25minutes to book a reservation.. wow! I hung up and called back and selected to speak to the front-desk an answered within minutes; sadly in this 21st century the Manager Johnathan was not able to book me a reservation for 2 days in advance. Discrimination is a sick and sad disease that we all have to put up with everyday.. what can you do? So I move on.Being a SJW doesn’t allow you to be rude, working at a hotel customer service is key along with hospitality, all I received was hostility..
Excellent Marriott elite customer service but the building shows its age. This is a hotel that has been upgraded, refreshed, renovated, whatever you want to call it. You can tell but thats not uncommon for hotels. I was more disappointed in the poor cleaning of the furniture, you could see stains and other splotches from previous guests. The views are great, the staff is great, the food is fantastic. Also the location is supreme. I will say that I will be lodging at the newer JW across the street (connected by a sky bridge in the hotel) next time just to get more bang for my buck.
Ac didnt work properly so the room was hot and muggy!! Terrible night sleep
Valet is extremely slow. Waited 30mins for my vehicle. Arrived late to my meeting.
My squadron always chooses the Tampa Marriott Water Street as the place to stay when we are here for training. The place is well kept, the staff is amazing, and everyone loves the accommodations. Food is only a short walk away.
Great view and awesome social venue
Fantastic place. Clean and orderly. Employees are fantastic. Great location in downtown. Definitely recommend
Great place to stop for drinks. Accessible & comfortable, with a great view.
Great room and amenities. Very nice city or harbor view. Conveniently located with various entertainment options
The hotel is nice in general, with direct access to the river walk exiting from the back, and updated rooms. The staff also helped with the return of an item that was left in the room, great service!Things that weren’t great:1. When you call and ask about local parking/self parking they direct you to a garage that only accepts monthly passes and not regular public access. Luckily there is another parking garage at the convention center that is 2-3 blocks away and works well if you don’t need to exit and return a lot. We paid 12 dollars for one day.2. The shower had a broken item from off the wall.
Very satisfied with the service! The wait staff was very friendly, well presented and the service was excellent. The food was delicious, the presentation was excellent, and the food delivery was prompt. The food and flavors were awesome. What a nice service in the town! I should use your service again, and I promised that to you. A strong recommendation for you!
Amazing property, we had the best time. Hotel is super clean, staff is excellent and happy (five star service). Stefan Ritter, the Resident Manager is awesome, along with his staff. Stefan is exceptional, the best in his field. Bruce the pool attendant is wonderful as well. We had a special occasion and he took excellent care of us, like we were family. The hotel location is wonderful. The best stay, run dont walk to this hotel.
Being with my girl has its rewards beautiful place to enjoy a week downtown Tampa
Nice hotel and great decently priced pool bar. The Tampa views are great. The staff was nice and they even had a DJ.
