FitCity CrossFit comes to my place-of-work 2 times a week and makes working out fun (I never thought Id say that lol)!! They are super patient with each of us being at different fitness levels. I love how they take the time to happily help us modify if needed. I am also on the 2nd week of their nutrition course. I honestly thought I new a lot about nutrition but they are helping me to redirect my old habits. We are so blessed to have these trainers and nutritionists in our lives...they truly do care about our health and well-being!

As someone who has a couple health issues that have always gave me pause if I could actually exercise correctly, Sarah has turned my no to hell yes. Sarah is amazingly knowledgable when it comes to modifications that will work with any ailment. She is motivating and encouraging when its time to trade up the weight on an exercise or push a movement more. Most importantly, theres no shame when something is flaring up and Im unable to be as intense as I normally would be.Sarah truly makes these workouts a fun experience (even if theres burpees on the board) and her humor and kindness shines through everyday I work with her. Could I go on more? Maybe, but Ill wrap this up. Sign up my friend, its never too late to start a new habit to a healthier you!
This is the best CrossFit Gym in the area. Classes are small and you get a lot of one-on-one attention from the coaches. They are constantly giving you feedback and helping you improve form and performance. The environment is great and everyone feels welcome and part of the family.
FitCity has been my HAPPY PLACE for the last 6 months... The Coaches and Athletes motivated me every WOD. It’s because of them I maintained my excellent PT score in the USAFR, climbed the rope (and rang that bell) for the very first time and also participated in the Cross Fit open. FitCity gave me all the feels! I only had to leave because I moved, otherwise I would have continued with them for the long haul. 💪🏽💪🏽

FitCity has really been there for me. I joined earlier this year to get in better shape. Little did I know a major health crisis was on the way. After being critically ill and diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, the team worked with me to help me find my rhythm. I had one on one training and my Coach, who even recommend lighter activities when I was not able to do a full scale workout. Thanks to the team I am feeling great, back to classes, and in the best shape of my life. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking to make healthier and better choices!
I came here for a weightlifting seminar, but I met a lot of the coaches and owners, everyone was super friendly and inviting. I took off a star only for the size of the gym, its pretty darn small but Im sure that they could make it work. Just a little too small for me.
Ive always been strong but Ive always had a skewed relationship with food. Ive always had an idea of what to eat but never really grasped how to eat for what my body needed to perform and it held me back from achieving my all around health and fitness goals. Coach Sarah changed all that for me. She helped me delve deeper into what my body needed. I am proud to say that I have lost over 15 pounds while still maintaining my strength and ability to perform in the gym. I am much closer to not only my physical health goals but just as important I am closer to my mental health goals. I can confidently say that coach Sarah has elevated me to becoming the best all around me. For this, I am forever grateful to her. To anyone who is struggling with reaching their goals, take the chance and delve deeper with coach Sarah. With her guidance and trusting the process, anyone can do it. A welcoming community of individuals from all walk of life coming together to better one another. It doesnt make a difference if you are fitness guru, someone who has never worked out a day in their life, or someone rebuilding from injuries or vacation. The people here are welcoming and excited to help you reach your goals. Not only the coaches but the other gym members have stood behind me and helped me reach for where I want to be. I would recommend this to my fellow soldiers and anyone else that just wants more than a couch.
The people at this gym are the best! They really do provide an encouraging, family oriented culture with your safety as their first priority. I go to most of these places and they only want your money... These people dont seem like that at all! They are friendly and work with my very hectic schedule. I definitely have enjoyed the workouts, especially as a therapist myself, appreciate the ways they have tailored some of the workouts to my various needs. Looking forward to continue progress with my healthy endevours.
I was just looking for a place to get a WOD in while out of town but what I got was so much more. Sarah was great! She communicated with me by both phone and email prior to my arriving. Everyone was super welcoming and the WOD was challenging yet so much fun. The space was also really clean and well organized. I highly recommend and will be visiting every time I am in town!!!
What fabulous coaches and members! I dropped in to have my 16.2 wod for the Open judged and it felt just like home. From the warm up, to the stretching at the end, their total focus was on taking care of their members. The box was clean and very professionally fun. Thank you for allowing me in and taking such good care of me.

I have tried every gym, trainer in the New Tampa area and never lasted more than a few days! Never felt comfortable at any of them. This is truly the first place I love going to, even though I require lots of modifying Sarah and Javi always take the time to help me either scale back because I am trying to prove something ;) or push me to go harder when they know I am capable! I’ve been out of judiciously exercising, as a routine for over 15 years. At work, I’ve been referred to as the “Energizer Bunny”. At the end of the day, I felt like there was nothing in the tank, the family became accustomed to me being sedentary, mostly sitting on the couch. The chores of an everyday functioning home, piled up inside, as well as outside, for I’ve always considered myself a proud DIY’er. I chalked it up to being a 50-year-old man.Various family and friends highly recommended doing CrossFit training. One call to FitCity, started a process of a one-on-one sit down with Sarah, one of the coaches. Classes from the outside looking in, are run in groups. But at FitCity new comers are seamlessly scheduled through private “On Ramp” lessons, with your very own coach. The personal training, covered a myriad of exercises to expect, specifically how to execute them safely to prevent injury. Their discussion style of facilitating encourages one to ask questions, and provide feedback.I attend one (1) hour, three times a week. The schedules are flexible enough that I can get in my workout, with the occasional work and/or family conflicts. Members are from all walks of life, but predominately are hardworking family oriented CrossFitters, that keep coming back to maintain high level of energy, and clear sharp mind.3 months since I started at FitCity. I feel like a million bucks, tons of energy, but above all the ability to focus on and off the job. The staff and members are supportive and knowledgeable. I look forward to attending 3 times a week.

I used to look in the mirror, and I hated how I looked. So, I joined a gym where I wasnt just running all the time. But then, I used to go to the gym and I hated how weak I was. I could barely lift anything over my head. I had no body strength. I would feel defeated after workouts. Even though I wanted to quit so many times, I came back every day. No matter how sore I was (even to the point where I couldnt walk or fully extend my arms) I would push myself to go back. I worked hard and ate healthy. I would fall off the wagon and splurge on pizza at midnight, but I came back. I got stronger and faster. I saw PRs being made and my physical and mental state improving. I felt compelled to go back. I felt like I was happy with who I am for the first time for many years. I am who I am because of this change. I am forever grateful for Fitcity CrossFit and all of the coaches and making the gym my safe space where i can grow continuously.
Walking into this gym you will find a supportive fun hard-working community of people. Sarah and Javi are incredibly knowledgeable trainers (including nutritional support). They constantly stress proper form and safety but will push you to be your best. I cant are words not to be uttered inside the gym. I am not an athlete or even what people would describe as athletic, but each week I complete I become more fit than I was the previous week. I have learned to eat properly making watching calories obsolete. Each time you walk into the gym you are trying to best yourself...you want to lift more than you did previously, finish more rounds, or achieve a better time. It is all about making yourself better. You often hear people uttering you can do it or clapping for someone else. My 17 year old son came to buddy day and was so impressed by the trainers (as well as the members) he has started private training with Javi to help him with explosiveness, power, stamina and accuracy.
Friends, I have been waiting since 5 months to write this review.I am writing this review at 3 am because i have been having sleepless nights past 4 and half months every day because of one of the trainer Javi at this crossfit location. On March 26 th 2017 i went to have a training session in the morning with Javi(This is my first session with him). within few minutes he gave me a kettlebell swing with the weight around 26 pounds with out any stretching,, after 2 reps he pushed me to increase the weight to 44 pounds.unfortunately i am the only person showed up on that day. Thats it, from that night i have been never normal person like before, i injured l3-l4 huge herinated disc. From that day, i was bed ridden for 2 months and fighting with the pain every day, I tried to fix this issues so many ways but it did not work, now finally i am heading for a surgery.I have been doing exercises since at my age of 17 years and never been bed ridden more than 3 days. I am always fit and been doing exercises .My enire life changed since Mar 26 th, I remember this more than my birthday.My whole family suffering because of this incident.My little kid also cries wih me when ever i am suffering with huge pain.I remember this more than my birthday. when i called javi to report this issues the answer he said is ho, you are a beginner, how did i push 44 pounds to do kettle bell frankly speaking that really pissed me off, how can a trainer do this to you whom you believe him completely and put your body infront of him to make you better in daily living life.i am writing this review not to damage some one reputation, atleast it will help others how to take care about yourself with these kind of trainers.it is devastating to handle constant pain every day in your life.

Alright lets start with the good. I have never experienced any other crossfit operations so my experience will contrast a traditional gym setting. The first thing you will notice is support, not just from the training staff as you would expect, but from from the other members of the gym who have zero obligation to do so. The type of environment here is one that you feel good about being apart of and can help break out of a lot of the self consciousness people like me feel when they first step into a gym setting. Second, is the attention, even when you arent doing personal training here they find ways to help scale your work out to what you need beyond simple weight adjustment. It is very conducive to beginners who have no idea what a proper movement looks like or if you just dont have the body strength to perform a certain action ( I was/am both of these things) they ensure that you can get a proper work out while steadily building the skills you need to get stronger in the future, in addition they take into consideration what your personal goals are and can help tailor some exercises in class sessions specifically to that because not everyone wants to look like a body builder. They offer a variety of class times to try and accomodate working and school schedules and are willing to see what would work best for you. Finally, visual progress, aside form being able to lift more and more weight, the tracking system they use makes it pretty easy to see how much you have improved even if you cant see any differences visually. Its great encouragement to keep showing up and proof that you are getting your monies worth.As for the bad there isnt much I can say except that its based on you. This place doesnt provide miracles. You cant show up once every other week and expect to see steady progress but if you are serious about reaching a fitness goals and are willing to actually make a commitment (This is the hardest part) FCCF is hands down the best place in new tampa I have found to help you reach your goal

If you are on the fence about crossfit or working out in general, this is an amazing place to start! I have previously done crossfit before (about 2.5 years) and in that entire time I never felt the way I do about the trainers at FitCity along with the members. They really do treat you like family. Sarah and Javi remember everyone by name and also what they can and cannot do, its simply amazing. You dont have to be a star to stand out for them to notice you, just being you counts! If you want a crossfit program and trainers that really care about you this is the place! I am never looking back! :-)Leighann Dickens
