Heinz Nursery is the best. We went and picked out our tree and shrubs and they were able to recommend the best time of year to plant them. They came out two different times to put the tree in and then the 30 bushes. An incredible quality of plants and great service. Thanks Bert for all you did for us!!

Update: 2 months later more glass every time it rains. NOT HAPPY !***Caution ***Ordered Heinz gardening mix along with topsoil now every time it rains more and more broken glass is exposed in the mix .I called and informed Heinz about the problem and was told it normally doesn’t happen. Well it happened to me and I’m not happy and I would not suggest to use Heinz topsoil or Heinz mix. If you have kids or pets like we do you definitely do want not want broken glass around your propertyVery very unhappy to say the least and just telling us sorry does not cut it hopefully others can avoid my bad experience.Very unhappy!

This Mothers Day reminds me of my awful experience with Heinz Nursery. Last year my family took me shopping to Heinz Nursery so that I could pick out a tree for my Mothers Day gift. With the help from their employee we purchased a tree and we followed all the planting and watering instructions he gave us. Sadly, the tree died. I called the nursery several times and told them about the condition of the tree and asked for a refund, stating that I was told by their employee who sold me the tree that the nursery offered a year warranty on all the trees. The manager told me that the employee was wrong and that they actually fired that guy because he lied about everything to everyone. After more calls and demanding that they give me my refund, they sent out another employee on two different occasions to look at the tree and give us more advice. NOTE: Watering and fertilizing a dead tree doesnt bring it back to life. We followed all the advice However, the tree was still dead...and still the manager did not give me my refund because he said it wasnt dead. After a few more calls He said the only way he would give us a refund is if we dug up the dead tree and brought it back to him. What we wanted was for him to send the guy they had already sent to us twice before to take the tree back with him.We left the tree in our yard, hoping that maybe this spring it would come back to life. It hasnt and every time I look at it, it makes me so upset. Heinz Nurseries was a huge disappointment. To make things better, you could come get the tree and plant me a new one. Or come get the tree and give me my refund.

Got 3 loads of pine bark which was good quality and price but they were out of pinestraw

Bert and his crew have installed several successful projects for us: front foundation removals and planting, a garden terrace wall, digging a rain garden, a grape arbor and most recently, a stand of bamboo by the pool to create a privacy screen and a stone drainage swale for heat pump runoff.Bert, the landscape architect, has good design sense and works with me to achieve the look I’m going for in my mostly native and unorthodox garden. The crew is fast, efficient and pleasant. The price is always reasonable and is a good value for what we get.We keep calling them back to do more. What better recommendation could you have?

Have had 3 bad experiences in a row....3 strikes you are out.1. came there to get gravel...paid at the counter then sat by the pile for over 20 minutes. We were the only customers there. The guy said he had no idea we were there he just happened to see the truck parked by the gravel....2. Called on a Saturday for sod. Was told they were out but would have a truck on Tuesday. Called Monday and was told...it is sold out, you have to pre order....which Saturdays call did not inform3. Ordered sod on Monday for friday. Was required to prepay. Went to pick up Friday..sold out....sod was never ordered under our name. Had to cancel contractors and now they have pushed me another 4 days....so I found another vendor. This nursery constantly costs me time and money by poor service. Tried to give my business to the local guy....but wont do that again.

Customer service pledge is a farce. Tried to give a local nursery business and on two separate occasions, provided contact info and staff indicates they will call and never do. When I take the initiative to follow up, the response is “well sometime messages do not reach the admin office.” Beth (admin office) was a very snide and unapologetic for their poor service, but I guess that is indicative poor communication/process. Apparently, this nursery has all the business they need. I would not buy from this place if it was the last provider in Tallahassee. Terrible.

Ive been burned multiple times by this company. I can only speak regarding the lawn maintenance but both the work done and the customer service leave a lot to be desired. They will ruin your yard and then have a receptionist somehow insult you and blame you at the same time. Finally, you will give up and call a real lawn maintenance company after promises of call backs and further inspection which never occur.

I purchased 4 Elaeagnus from Heinz Nurseries. I talked with them regarding instruction on planting and did so accordingly. Less than a month, the leaves began turning yellow and fell off. All research indicates a root fungus. I called and spoke with Bert who indicated I needed to email the nursery with photos. So, I did this (TWICE!!). I even told Bert that I wasnt looking for a refund and just wanted to replace with new plants.THERE IS NOTHING WORSE THAN NO-FOLLOW-UP OR NO RESPONSE TO A CUSTOMER.

Not professional, not respectful, lack of care. Avoid this business at all costs. Their lawn crews crossed over my property line and destroyed my landscaping. Management acted like they cared, stringing us along for months, then eventually refused to replaced the tagged plants that they destroyed. Ive had much better experiences with Native Nurseries. Go with with them instead.

Tom and Mary Heinz are wonderful people that put their customers first! I needed a few rocks to paint for a vacation Bible school craft and they were both eager and willing to help me find exactly what I need, including personally walking me over to a pile of rocks that was perfectly what I had in mind and allowing me to dig through the pile and select which rocks I needed for the kids to paint. If you need any landscaping or craft projects done… This is the place to go! Thank you guys for your amazing customer service! My day has been made by Heinz Nursery :)

Love, love this place. I needed some top soil and pine straw delivered to my house and they delivered the same day. They almost got to my house before I did!

Par. Thats all unfortunately. The pricing suggests better attention to detail. Ask for something your way instead of the lowest common denominators way? .... youre at the wrong place. Tell the girl. She writes it down. Ask the guy. He says sure. Product shows up .... wrong. Oh well ... cest la par.

Great service with a knowledgeable, hard-working staff. Quality products. I always start there for my outdoor and landscape needs.

We used Heinz Nursery on a recommendation from a friend. What started out as great customer service ended up being an awful experince. We hired them to plant some flower in the backyard along with a few in the front and make a rock garden beside the outdoor porch. The guys who showed up were very friendly and seem to work hard on the project. Once it was done it looked horrible. The metal edging for the rock garden was uneven in the ground and the measurement was off, if was thick in some places and thinner in others. We had to hire another company to come out and install brick pavers around the rock garden to make it even and look normal. We called Heinz to get them to install the pavers and were told they were months out on any kind of work like that, the yard looked horrible we couldn’t wait. The pine straw was uneven in the flower beds all over the yard, it was just dumped in the flower beds and not even spread correctly and they said they used double the bails than we have ever used in the 17 years living at this house. It looked like an amateur had done it, these guys were suppose to be professional landscapers. When we questioned the job Wallace came out and thought it all looked fine, but Chris the quality control personal did not. He had a new crew come back out and re-due the metal edging and attempt to re-install the pine straw. We had hired them also for lawn service and that was complete disaster. Weeds started growing in all of the flower beds (because they didn’t use enough pine straw - even though they said they did) they missed large sections of grass when mowing, the brick pavers were newer edged around or weeded and the bushes didn’t get trimmed on a regular basis. We had to call everytime they “attempted” to mow to have them come back and re-due the job. Only 1 guy from the yard maintance crew knew what he was doing. Unfortunately he didn’t come to our home everytime. And the office staff Beth tried to make it right after every conversation about the way the guys left our yard. It was too much of a hassle to continue working with them they had to be micro-managed and no one has time for that.

Great selections of plants, shrubs, flowers and other outdoor needs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Heinz Nurseries.

Great place with great people

I recently bought 3 scoops of Large pine bark mulch about three weeks ago. Came with lot of dirt with it, besides the under scooped quantity. I called back presenting my dissatisfaction to the receptionist. She said, Somebody will call me next day. Till now nobody called me.

Awesome customer service! Guy ran up to help me and had my straw loaded before I could get done paying for it.

WAY OVERPRICED. They charge $45/hour to put plants in when $30 is average, and sent out 3 people for a 1-2 person job. The manager Wallace never called to let me know when they were coming, and instead just showed up charged me the entire time they were waiting. On top of everything else, my mailbox was hit when they were leaving and they never did anything about it.
