Nice hair cutting place, nice quirky feel, super clean with great people. Really enjoy coming here to get my hair cut. I found my new barber. Good value, and my hair stylist was really cool. Good for people with hearing disabilities, they were super accommodating to me.

Vanessa cut my hair and Nicholas cut my sons, and neither of us had let anyone cut our hair in years. Im thrilled with both of them, they listened and did exactly what we wanted, and then some. I have never felt so unwelcome somewhere. My son and I walked in last Sunday evening there was one lady cutting hair she turned around and looked at me and turn right back around and started cutting hair again. There was also a guy at the register when I walked in he looked at me and then went back to whatever he was doing. My son and I stood there for probably a good 5 minutes just standing there nobody said hello nobody said Ill be right with you maam they just looked at me and ignored me. I ended up just walking out and I will definitely never go and spend my money there ever.

Found this place on Yelp. Went to their website. Tired to book an appointment but the service they offered that I wanted was not listed. I tried to call and no answer. They were open and their website says walk-ins welcome so I decided to drive the 15 miles to visit them. They arent offering the service at the moment due to COVID and mask mandates. So now I wasted a trip and 30 miles of gas. It would be HELPFUL if this information was listed on their website. After all they did make it a point to update their website to say they are not offering any color or blow drying. Once COVID rules change I may give them a try and update this review after services. I am fully vaccinated, with proof on hand, and service was still refused.

There are plenty of other places to overpay for a haircut that are local. Rudys is about as local as Great Clips. Go to SeaWolf, or one of the other local spots and support local people. Definitely was not worth the price for the hair cut Dave (or Davey) gave me. He has the personality of a rock to boot.

Place is clean and contemporary. Staff is super friendly and cuts always come out fresh.

Coming from someone where my mother, grandmother, and 3 of my very close aunts are professional hair dressers, Ive always had the pleasure my entire life of not worrying about having to pay to get my hair cut.Well fast forward to 2019 and to now, I refuse to have my hair cut by anyone else but Rudys.You guys are amazing, friendly, and seriously give the best hair cuts I have ever had or seen. Went and cut my hair for the second time, did a good job on haircut and come to find out, she missed a spot on my hair and the fade was not to standard and I tipped her 30 dollars also. So I called the next day telling them if I can come in to fix a little spot, they said I had to make appointments and that they are all booked for that day. I told her its literally a 20 second job. And still had to find time to squeeze me in I dont think I will be coming back.

Haircuts are a personal preference, that much I know. Regardless of whether or not you like my haircut in these photos, I think Rudy’s barbershop in Tacoma, Washington does an excellent job at cutting mens hair. In the past, I’ve aimlessly floated around different barbershops in search of a consistent haircut. I stopped doing this once I discovered Rudy’s. I’ve been going to Rudy’s for two years now and I’ve never been dissatisfied with me experience! 🕺 My haircuts are excellent, the staff is friendly, scheduling is easy, the environment is clean and comfortable, even the bathrooms are nice. What more can I ask for? Last but not least, while I’ve gotten haircuts from different staff members, Genesis is my favorite! 🙌

I went to get a haircut at Rudys last Friday for the first time in about 1 1/2 years. Never again will that happen. I asked for two things: 1) for 1-2 inches to be cut off the length and 2) to make sure I could still pull it back into a ponytail for sports. The guy who cut my hair didn’t listen - he cut a huge amount of length (probably 6 inches off the front) and I cannot pull it back in a ponytail. I asked for very little and he didn’t listen to me.

The service here is always great, I get my hair cut and colored by Scott and he never disappoints. I’m always leaving with a huge smile on my face. They also offer student discounts if you’re a student.

Good barbers, but if you miss an appointment for whatever reason they charge you $20. That’s a hustle if I’ve ever seen one; won’t be returning.

After being a loyal customer for years and remaining loyal after the TWO recent price increases I will be looking for another location. From $29 to $32 and now to $37 I still came. Times are tough and I have been loyal. Upon checkout I was informed that in addition to both of these huge increases in price, every loyal customer would also be gouged for an additional $2 Covid fee. Insulting is the only word that comes to mind. In times where businesses are doing everything they can to stay afloat and generate more business, Rudys has taken the opposite approach. Gouging existing clientele won’t keep them coming and being the highest priced barber shop anywhere around certainly doesn’t help either. It was ironic overhearing another gentleman expressing his same concern on my way out the door.I’m pretty sure losing two loyal customers in a matter of minutes was not your intent and I can only imagine what others will say once they find out.Good luck Rudy’s

As a woman with short hair, that is pretty specific to what I want-I can not recommend this place more-specifically Liza Maria! A wonderful gem to find when there is always so much room for error in a womens short cut.

I have been going to this barbershop since they had opened and have loved it since but the last time I had made an appointment to get my haircut I had never revived a notification thru text/call about my appointment and when I had called to tell them that they had seemed to not care at all and had charged me $17 for missing my appointment. I had loved coming here and getting my hair cut by Liza Maria (a great hairstylist btw) but i dont know if I will be anymore because of how the situation was dealt with.

This is my favorite place to get my hair cut.Wait time for a walk in is reasonable, time goes by quickly after I buy one of the drinks they have up for sale.They have an experienced team that cut my hair quickly while still keeping a high quality haircut with no loose hairs running down my back. I also enjoy the tea tree oil shampoo they do after the hair cut and some of the pomade they use to style.I bought the pomade and Ive used it daily for the past 4 months and I still have a solid amount left until I need to buy more.

This shop is amazing! We had a bad day finding someone to cut my sons hair and Scott didnt even double take when he saw my sons hair. He just walked us over to the chair, asked what we wanted and got it done. My son is scared of his hair being cut due to past issues, but Scott was awesomely gentle. Thank you for being so great!

As a person of color, it is difficult finding places that are able to work with my hair. When I decided that I wanted to go for a very short look I looked into a barbershop. Based upon the reviews I thought that this place would be a good fit. Unfortunately, it was not. I immediately had my doubts when I walked in and did not see a single other person of color. But it’s 2017 and this was a barbershop, so regardless of the lack of diversity in their staff I figured they should be able to handle me.The staff was very friendly, however it was clear that the stylist did not know how to interact with my hair. She tried her best, however she claimed to be unable to give me a part in my hair because it was too curly. This is a flagrant lie, however I did not push her on it. If she wasn’t comfortable doing the part I wasn’t going to force it on her.Before beginning, I clearly expressed to the stylist that would be my second time at a barbershop and that I was inexperienced with the process. I also expressed that I was unsure of how short I wanted it. She proceeded to cut my hair and I asked if we could start at a certain length and then go shorter if I wanted to. She said yes, however then later when I asked about potentially making it shorter she became visibly annoyed and basically told me that making it shorter would require her to start all over again.At this time I called my boyfriend over to ask him his thoughts. He liked the length and just asked that the edges be cleaned up. Once it was determined that I was satisfied with the length, her demeanor returned to its original pleasantness.She said that she was just going to clean my neck up and then would be done. At this time I asked again about cleaning my edges up. Again the stylist exhibited annoyance, though having your edges lined up is a reasonable request when getting a hair cut.Then, without styling my hair at all she pronounced her job done and said that it would look better once I went home and washed it.The price was higher than what they quoted me over the phone, and once in the car my boyfriend told me that he had overhead the stylist tell the cashier to charge me extra for longer hair. Mind you, my hair was not long before the cut, even straightened my hair was barely ear length.When I got home I was able to pick out my hair and moisturize it. Also my boyfriend was able to line my edges up a bit better. It was only after this was done that I was satisfied with the cut. And even still I am going to have to go somewhere else to get my hair touched up.Overall this was a very disappointing experience.

The environment is chill, but definitely quality. She went beyond expectations with providing tips and observations for my cut. Im a new regular for sure.

I regularly go back to Rudys because of the ability of their stylists to nail my haircut everytime, I loosely describe what I want and bam that is what I get. My hair grows out better and I can go about my day easier knowing I dont have to style my hair as much. Highly recommended if you need a fantastic relaxing haircut, cheers!

Louie did a great job :) Ive had some horror show hair cuts it the past where I had to wear a hat for a week. He nailed it on his first try. He has good attention to detail and doesnt rush. I will definitely go to him again.

I started going to another establishment for mens haircuts based on a suggestion from a friend. Fell into a routine with Brittney and have since followed her to Rudys. She does a great job with my hair, is very personable and takes great pride in her work. I enjoy the atmosphere of the new shop and the employees seem to have a great time which makes the experience even better. The online scheduling capability is very convenient! Get there early, enjoy a beverage and request Brittney, you wont be disappointed.

Having thick, curly hair has made finding a good barber difficult. However I have been getting my hair cut by Leah for two years and she absolutely nails it every time! I’ve gotten to the point where I can walk in and trust her to do what she wants with my hair, knowing it will be amazing! She’s the best!

I have been seeing Brittney for over two years now, and followed her to Rudys from another establishment. Rudys provides a great service for a fair price. A haircut with a straight razor treatment to the back of the neck, wash and scalp massage with a hot towel. You can even enjoy an adult libation in the waiting area while you wait for your appointment.I would definitely recommend Brittney, she has taken great care of me from day one (there is a reason I follow her from place to place). Highly recommend!

Been in two times now. Great hair cuts both times from Cami. Its $4 more than the other two legit barber shops Ive been to in Tacoma (Supernova and Buzzards), but the cut comes with a shampoo, something the other two dont do. I like that scheduling is easy, and its not a crazy walk-ins-only waiting list kind of set up (although my first hair cut was a walk in and they saw me right away). Ive got good things I could say about the other two shops I mentioned, but this is the first time Ive gone to the effort to leave a review for a barber shop because Rudys seems like the full package to me and its crazy to me that they arent just as busy as those other two shops. Bonus: you dont have to be the front man for punk rock act to feel like you fit in here (although, if you are one youll still feel right at home).

I went with my father in law, a friend and my 7 year old son. We got some quarters and played the heck out of some arcade donkey kong. The girls were all really nice, especially to my son. Our hair dresser was Absolutely Amazing so me and my wife will only get our haircut done by her even though we live roughly 5 hours away or more, we have decided to make the drive every 2 months or so. Normally, I only allow gay men to cut my hair...I spent my whole life getting hair cuts exclusively by the gays, until I came to Washington... I did everything I could to find a gay barber I could trust to make my hair look f***able by their standards... But I was let down again and again, being forced to accept mediocre haircuts, and live a life of only semi sexy hair...thats when I went to Rudys, and met Leah.Leah is the best. Hands down. Not your typical Barber Shop. My husband loves a good mens Barber and all that a mens barberjoint entails. No chicks and a relaxing atmosphere. This isnt it. Very trendy and cool and filled with nothing but chicks. Overpriced big time but they sure can cut some hair. Regardless of skill, the husband is still on the hunt for a man barber in a man cave. Moving on.
