Haircuts are good, actually hit & miss. But these guys do not value their customers time whatsoever. I understand taking time with your work, but these guys spend more time standing around & talking right in the middle of appointment instead of cutting. Not everyone can afford spending 2 hours at a barbershop. Also way overpriced & overrated for the quality of service. Not going back. $40 for a shadow fade and line up with no work on top. I’m always down to pay a good price for a good cut & good experience. This place is not the case.

First time coming and son loved it! He has crazy curls. And he loved the service and environment. He is looking forward for his next visit. Very polite. I recommend it here!

I been getting my hair cut here for almost 2 yrs now. I decided to bring my son in to get his haircut. I called the day before and made a appointment for 1:30 i was just a few minutes late. But i sat there for over 2hrs waiting with my 2kids to get are haircut and several people walked in hours after I was there and got seated right away. I’m very disappointed with the service and how i was treated. Never thought i would have to say this but i will never go back witch is disappointing because i have always been a big tipper and respected the guys in there. so I don’t understand why i was treated this way. Best of luck to them in the future.

Easily the best barber shop Ive ever been to. I dont live in the Tacoma area (or even in Washington), but Id definitely return here the next time I visit. The price is very reasonable for a great cut with great attention to detail.

I don’t really understand all the negative reviews. Seems like people are complaining about the bed they made for themselves. This place is great and the barbers here are all super friendly. They respect appointments and put you ahead of walk-ins if you have one. If you’re a walk-in, they get to you as fast as possible. I’ve never waited more than 20 minutes for a walk-in and 20 mins is short for barber shops that know how to cut. Would recommend to everyone in the area and if you’re willing to drive for those who are further away.

Was looking for a new place to get my haircut. Had never been to a Barbershop, decided to look up online for one in Parkland area. Saw the great reviews and pics on the JQs site and headed over to give it a try. The shop was very busy, but waited it out and was it worth the wait, YES it was !!! Very professional staff and very clean shop. Every Barber there has skills, Brenner is who cut my hair and he did an amazing job. This is my new go to Barbershop. Seriously you should give them a try.

Was told and read this is a great shop. I called ahead to make an appointment a week ahead to get in just in case. I came in on time and got me right in and thats where it started. I had a pictures of how short I wanted my sides cut and the height I would like to go. After he was done it was uneven on both sides and longer then I asked. Also the clippers was not sharp at all and pulled my hair trying to cut it quickly. It was not a great cut and for 30 dollars it wasnt worth the cost. I dont suggest using this shop if you like your hair done the way you like.

I love this place. The barbers are super cool and down to earth. They like having a good time while expertly cutting hair. Ive lived in WA for 3 years now, and for the first 2 years I kept switching barbershops. Then about a year ago I stumbled upon this jewel, and instantly felt welcomed. The guys speak both english and spanish and give out superb haircuts each and every time. They take their time and get the lines perfect. Tell them what you want and Jose and guys will hook you up! So if you are looking for a spot that cuts good hair and you want that close and personal laid back barbershop feeling, this the place to go.

Jose was a champion among barbers. I have never been to a barbershop prior to today and after my cut I will be back on a regular basis, there really is no other way to get my haircut now. There is Jesus Christ and there is JQs Barbershop. Life will never be the same. 💪

I will never ever come here again and I recommend others dont either! I made an appointment and arrived even 10 mins early and the guy took over a damn hour to cut a fade! He just talked the entire time, took a break, and still did a scrappy job. Leaving random long hairs. Never again omg!

I got the best hair cut of my life (so far) here. I sent them a message saying that my hair got super messed up by another barber and if they could fix it. They said come in whenever you can. I stopped by and they immediately got me sat down and went above and beyond what I expected. Good envirmoment with good music and friendly staff. They also have very good pricing. I highly recomend getting your hair cut here.

First time I came in was great, got a fresh fade and a overall nice haircut.Second time I came in, I got sent to the new worker that was in. I asked for a shawdow fade and a little of the top, he didnt even know what a shawdow fade was. Even after getting it explained to by the owner he have me what looked like a plain 1 all the way to the top of my head.

Finally a place that cuts the way I ask. José hooked it up. This is now my go to spot. Love this place...

My son loves this place. Not only a great hair cut but the ambience is great. Nice music that transports you back home (Puerto Rico). I will continue coming here to keep the Puerto Rican heritage on my kid. Jose keep it going for all Boricuas residing in Washington.

Waited 20 minutes to be told that appointments come first. I was under the impression that they took walk-ins, but I guess not. Waited for one guy to come back from lunch and then the other was going home. No one wanted to help us. Only option was to wait another ten minutes to see if the appointment was going to show up. Then maybe you could squeeze my son in. Last time I will come in, thank you for wasting my time. If you only take appointments then you should say something or at least let the customer know so that they can come back. Dude was helping some guy off the street when my son and I were already waiting. Talk about poor service. Go somewhere else or make an appointment.

I stumbled across JQ,s from a frantic Google search over the holiday for hair cuts near me. My original stop was closed for the festivity. After my turn in the chair, I walked out the shop excited. The time that was spent with passion for a profession, I havent left a barber shop this satisfied in years. The whole experience was like I had remembered barber shop to be, but in this day and age I thought didnt even exist anymore. I give JQs five stars and and thumbs up for the pride they had in their work, and the uplifting conversation that i encountered in a simpler time of life when it seemed more important to take the time, opposed to the need to beat the clock, like it has become in todays modern world.

I went for the $8 Wednesday deal they have for PLU students. I wasnt expecting much, but it instantly became my go-to place for haircuts. This place is awesome!

Been here three times now. Seen three different barbers. Zeek, Ricky, and I didnt get the third guys name. I think he was newer. But every haircut has been on point. They line me up clean, fade and shape the beard nice, all of that. And JQ is always playin the SLAPPERS on the speakers! The vibe is a big plus.

I usually get good haircuts for the last 3 years but lately I have been coming in with an appointment and have been pawned off to another barber and then don’t get the cut that I want and am there for hours on end because the barbers are more into there phones than cutting my hair especially the owner

I was recommended here by a friend was so excited to take my kids. I think the guys were not having a good day..thry have a big sign that says Monday $8 kids.. another one that says they take cards for payment.. at the end i gave him my card he said they dont take cards. I ask how much was the total he said 30 for 2 kids. had to go different places to find an atm which all were broken.. very disappointed and he didnt do good. Will never go back again.

Stay away from this place! My child just got a haircut. They broke his skin with the clippers - 2 cuts on his forehead and nicks on each ear. I asked if they sanitize between cuts. He says yes and points to a can of Lysol. Apparently he has a sanitizing machine but I did not see him use it. And after my sons haircut, he sprayed the clippers with Lysol and set them down. Now Im freaking out because Lysol is not effective against bloodborne pathogens. How many people have they cut with those clippers?! Stay away.Response to the owner: I am not complaining about the service or price. I have no problem personally with anyone there. Im CONCERNED. If you are breaking skin on your clients and not PROPERLY sanitizing, it is a safety concern. Would you share a razor with any one of your customers? If you are breaking skin and not properly sanitizing, your customers are essentially sharing razors. For the record, I came in Saturday for a 1:30 appt and you guys were so busy you couldnt keep the 1:30, so at about 1:50, I said Id come back. Seeing as how you advertised a kids special for Monday, why not? Did I even blink at the price after I was told it was a different price than I thought? Did I even ask for a refund? No I did not. I paid, included a tip, and didnt think twice about it. It wasnt until we started to walk out that I noticed the cuts and really started questioning/ having a problem. Please do not turn this into something it is not. It is not a personal bash and it most certainly is not about the price. This is a true concern that people should be aware of. Even if my kid did get nicked, I would not be so concerned IF I thought proper sanitation practices were being used with MEDICAL grade disinfectant.3 pics posted. Click o n 4 reviews under my name. Now 4 pics posted - found another cut underneath his earlobe a couple days later.Im happy and relieved that you claim to practice proper sanitation. I am still concerned for my sons well being from what I witnessed with the Lysol and am currently waiting for a call from his pediatrician to see about medical advice and if there are any necessary next steps for us. And for the last time, its not about the price. I gave a $5 tip on a $12 cut which is well over 20% so I obviously had no problem with the price. Was it different than the $8 I was expecting? Yes. But at $12 it is still a great price - one of the best prices around, actually. And the cut looked fine. So no, it is not about the price.*Final update: Dr.s office called back and said there are no further steps. Risk of infection is low. Im including this in my update because it is fair. And my review and concern was fair. Im a mother and it is my job to keep my child safe. Im relieved to have touched base with a medical professional. As for the cleanliness of the shop, I honestly believe that training needs to occur because I can say at least 1 employee believes Lysol is sufficient. He said so himself and thats also what I witnessed. Very unprofessional responses from the owner who kept insisting I had an issue with the price.
