We’ve had them out to the house for annual cleanings and inspections and the work is always done on time and to the highest standard. After a video inspection in early 2020 we discovered that the chimney had not been well maintained by the previous homeowner. We had large deposits of dangerous creosote and the majority of tiles were cracked. The chimney was unusable. Jock walked us through our options and we elected to have a stainless steel sleeve installed. As a member of the armed services I deployed for an extended period and left my wife to manage the project along with our kids and schooling through the late 2020 school year and pandemic closures. Jock and his team went above and beyond to make the instillation as easy as possible. The project was completed quickly and the work was outstanding. From deep cleanings to remove the creosote build up to the required masonry work and matching the new brick, every interaction was easy, correct, and quick. The last procedure involved a vacuum clean out of the smoke shelf, conscientiously done by Ray. My 50+ year old chimney was deteriorating and I had to make this substantial financial investment. I recently had my chimney cleaned and inspected. Raymond used the camera to show me the deterioration in the mortar in the lining, and helped me get started educating myself on the chimney lining options. I eventually opted to have a Vermont castings wood insert installed along with the appropriate lining. Jock and his crew (Raymond, Jamie, Tommy and Raymond) were very helpful and prompt. Jocks guys returned to do the install within a week. Al went great. Very happy, would recommend them unconditionally.

Technician was timely and friendly, but I wasnt really given a before and after look at the work he had done (basic chimney sweep). Was also told I would need additional work done on the crown. Was shown pictures, and told I would be contacted with an estimate. Never heard back and made multiple phone calls over a 2 week period, never hearing back.

I have been using Expert Chimney for the past 10 years for my annual inspection and cleaning. They are always professional and knowledgeable. I had a minor issue with the chimney when it was placed back in place and I was not completely satisfied. Called them up for a chimney inspection. I was informed that they would have to do a cleaning as well as an inspection and quoted me 250 dollars. I agreed to this and had the inspection completed. The chimney hasnt been used in the 7 years I have owned the house and the chimney has not been used in that time. They were able to do the inspection without cleaning the chimney but still charged me the full amount.I filed a homeowners claim and got an approval for chimney repair. I called them up to get an installation scheduled and when I mentioned that I would probably not be purchasing a stove from them I no longer got any return communication from them.

We recently hired Expert Chimney Services to do a chimney inspection and sweep. It was done by Matt, who was very knowledgeable, polite and respectful. A friend referred me to ECS to have our chimney cleaned and inspected at my home in Syracuse. The inspection revealed some minor repair was needed. The repair was just completed.. The chimney sweep crew, as well as the repair and installation crew were excellent. I was both happy and surprised at how neat the workers were. Over that period of time, weve had many contractors at our house for a variety of reasons. Chimney repair is not one of those projects that creates a wow factor like siding or decks. It falls into the category of replaced cellar walls or new furnaces that are absolutely necessary and have to be done in a timely fashion.My wife noticed a neighbor having chimney work done by Expert Chimney Services and also noticed we had some brick issues on our chimney. The projected time for completion was about 5 daysWe asked him to give us a written proposal and decided to use his company.This has been a very wet spring but as soon as recent 3 day weather window became available, Expert Chimney went into action.Tommy and Jamie stopped on a Thursday afternoon to set up the scaffolding and returned for full days of work on Friday and Saturday and then finished everything on Monday by early afternoon. They are 2 of the most pleasant and efficient craftsmen we have ever had at our house. They answered questions, kept us appraised about progress and did everything they could to make it an easy experience for us and our neighbor whose driveway was partially blocked for the length of the repair. I was given complete information regarding the findings of the chimney inspection. Also, the chimney sweep left zero signs of soot, etc anywhere in my home. Excellent work.

When the smoke started to come into the family room and not go up the chimney...we knew that we had some problems. We contacted Expert Chimney service on the advice of a tech who had cleaned chimneys for a living and he lived just the down the street from us. He advised us that we had evidence of a chimney fire andwould need some inspection and repairs. He refered us to Expert Chimney Cleaning Service. They came within a day and thoroughly inspect the chimney and advised us that we did indeed have a fire and the liner needed repairs and that the stove we had installed was not codes compliant and was a hazard. On his advice we contacted Expert Chimney service for an inspection and service. Long story short we were able to have the chimney repaired, and also had a new codes compliant liner in stalled, and best of all a new code compliant Vermont Casting stove that just works unbeliavelably. The work was completed in a very short time & appointments for the installation were kept on time and the men doing the job were highly professional in conduct as well as skill.....They left the family room in better shape that when they came in!!!! I cant believe the way the new unit works....literally able to burn one stick (log) at a time after the initial set up...….I would not hesitate to recommend Jock Rotella, the owner of the firm and his crew Ray, Tommy and Jamie... We were never stood up for the appointment made and calls were made to confirm that they were on their way...….Who says that professionalism and hard work are no longer around....not from these guys.

I bought my first home and hired them in October for a sweep and inspection. The worker that came out was nice. Informed me I need some work done but couldnt give me details or prices. Said the owner had to do that. I had to call 4 times to find out what should be done with the chimney. 2 months and still no word or written estimate on what needs to be done so I can use my fireplace. So disappointed in this company.

We knew our chimney needed repair so, we began getting quotes. Most took a look at the chimney and gave us an estimate to repoint it. Only one actually went up on the roof and, even he only was going to repoint the chimney. We contacted Expert Chimney and asked them to do an inspection and cleaning; which was about $220. They ran a camera up the entire flue and actually climbed up on the roof and took pictures. They gave us the most honest assessment of what should be done. Based on this, we hired them to do the job.Weather thwarted us a bit but, they would call with updates and finally were able to find some good weather to start the job. Matt and Tom were excellent! they were polite and professional and, have a good sense of humor!. They were also very neat; cleaning up diligently each day. So much so that the next-door neighbors were very impressed.The total time it took to complete the job was about four days; from Tuesday until Friday. They then came back on Saturday to remove the tarp that they had to wrap around the finished chimney as it rained on Friday evening and they had to protect the fresh mortar. They took down all the scaffolding, cleaned again to include pressure washing the neighbors driveway and, went on their way.Overall, we were very impressed with the level of work and how it all turned out. We would definitely recommend Expert Chimney Services to anyone who asks! They are honest and know their stuff!

I called Expert Chimney Services to clean the fireplace in my Westvale home. The technicians arrived as scheduled. I was a bit concrned with the potential mess of ash & soot as the carpet in the livingroom is ivory. The guys wore foot booties into the house, and came prepared with drop cloths to contain any mess. The chinmey was cleaned and the insert put back into place. The guys did a nice job. They were clean, well spoken and polite. I also had them give me an estimate for some exterior brick work. I was happy with the company and will use them again.

Expert Chimney was on time, clean, and professional. They performed a chimney inspection for us and by the time they left you would never know they had been here.

I called Expert Chimney Services because it in my Nieghbor hood and is 12 miles from my fathers home. My father lives at home and is total care. The house has had a wood stove in it all my life. I have a company who is going to install a new one soon and wanted to have the chimney cleaned and inspected. They asked a lot of questions. They only clean chimney with a particular wood stove attached to them. They don’t climb on metal one story roof. They asked me to find someone in my area. This is after speaking the the owner a couple of days prior and he said to call and make an appointment. He even told me who to contact to get a new stove. Very poor customer service and inconsiderate.

Great customer service, the technician was friendly and thorough, and the owner was courteous and respectful and even placed a follow up call to make sure that I was happy with the work. Would definitely recommend!!
