An older guy came to fix our SONY TV. He was so rude and unprofessional. We had to give him $99. for a service charge just for coming . He gave us a quote of $866 for a Main Board on a piece of paper ARE YOU SERIOUS! So we went with the Geek Squad $277 total. Dont waste your time or money with this company they are ripping ppl off. No I did not go with this company wish I could get my $99 back.
Really nice people. Great customer service!
Super professional, amazing phone customer service & Clarence, my tech was on time & super quick with fixing everything! 😊🙌 highly recommended!
I wish I could give zero stars. Tech came out to fix my LG washing machine purchased in 2017. It has black dirt (see photo). The tech didnt touch the washing machine. Visit lasted 2 minutes. Apparently needed a part (??). He must be psychic. Part is supposedly on back order and wont be in for a month (or two or six...). Stay away from LG, Home Depot protection plan (Asurion) and Normans electronics.
These folks are the best! Thank you fixing my receiver
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! They were selected through my Home Depot repair for my GE Cafe Fridge. The repair man they sent was about 75 years old and out of shape. Took over a week for the part to come after his first visit to diagnose the problem. He then showed up and because he wasnt strong enough he couldnt move the fridge to replace the part!!! NEVER USE THEM!!! He needs to retire!!
I have used Normans Electronics for well over 30 years (Im now 73).I have always been pleased with their professionalism and expertise. (there arent many left who know their stuff when it comes to electronics repair)In this last visit, they were very responsive, reliable, and honest in correcting a problem that they voluntarily said had been their mistake. They just did what was right.I can highly recommend them and will gladly drive the extra 30 miles to Swanee before trusting someone else with anything that I care about being done right.Al Endel.
They performing for Best Buy the TV warranty contract work. So after waiting for 2 weeks a technician finally showed up and told after troubles analysis he needs to order a new TV (Vizio 43 Smart TV) motherboard. I should call when I get that, so he would come the exchange it. Nothing came, at all, no new motherboard and no response. So after 3 weeks I calls Normans and they stated, that this case is closed, i should get a replacement TV. This was two months ago, I still have no TV. Today they say we are out of the lube and I should call Best Buy, The tell me it is Normans call to bring that new TV, which they will not do. I am screwed, three months and still no TV
Horrible experience with them I have been waiting a month to get a repair for my washer the tech CLARENCE said it could be done without having to unstack my unit now the day after he was scheduled to come to my home to fix the repair he cancelled my appointment without notice & never said anything. They don’t stay in communication with customers you have to keep calling & they show up late at night and call late at night to schedule an appointment to not even show up.. very inconsiderate I wouldn’t even give a 1 star rating the way they handled this issue.
Been to Normans twice and these guys know the world of vintage stereo electronics. Super easy to work with and easy to find. Personal service from guys that love their jobs and electronics.
Normans made a house call to repair our 75 Sony XBR 4K TV. During the call they determined the TV had self destructed. Apparently the large amount of back lighting on this model is integral to the main panel and cannot be repaired without replacing the whole Panel which is cost prohibitive. The TV had totaled itself.Problems started trying to get Warranty remuneration. The Warranty finally did remunerate a bit over 90% of the value of the TV, but it required over a month of sending more and more information to the Warranty Co. - VISA Card Benefit Services.Normans was extremely patient with this process and three times helped with additional information or reformatting the previously provided information into the format the Warranty Co wanted.Without Normans patience and help we never would have received the Warranty Remuneration. We appreciate their accurate diagnosis, patience, and professionalism.
Normans Electronics is the authorized repair center for my 10 year old Integra receiver. Unfortunately, two things hindered the repair 1) the pandemic and 2) Onkyo merged with Denon which hampered parts availability. After waiting six months for a part, Normans was able to complete the repair. Ather the repair everything appears to be in good working order.
Ive used Normans Electronics for many years, theyve always done excellent work .... OLD SCHOOL IS BEST ! ✌✌✌✌
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Normans was contracted through the Home Depot Warranty Service to repair our dishwasher. After multiple visits and trying three different parts, the repairman said the dishwasher was irreparable and Home Depot needed to replace it. He then submitted paperwork that the ticket was complete. He did not indicate that the dishwasher was irreparable although he told us this multiple times and the dishwasher has not worked in over two months. He lied on the paperwork. I can understand delays in ordering parts, being late to appointments, etc. However, lying is completely unacceptable.
Bought from there - fair prices, helpful in my selection. 2 years later when I needed a repair they took care of me at the right price. Great as far as I’m concerned.
For those folks looking to get their APPLIANCES repaired,...go find APPLIANCE REPAIR Shop. !!!!,...for those folks looking to get their audio visual equipment repaired,...Normans is THEE Place to drop off your equipment.....five star service in my opinion
Wow! Incredible to work with! Prompt emails, very clear on etas of parts. I am beyond thrilled with the level of service this team gives! Worked with me to get all info needed for a Denon after warranty issue. I really cant thank these guys enough!
Excellent Services
Had a new Denon receiver that lost a surround sound channel. Normans checked it out, ordered parts and had it repaired in about 10 days. Its working GREAT now. Excellent service - highly recommend.
I have been doing business with Normans electronics since 1982...enough said.
The worst customer service...Tell you one thing and then tell you something else.I will NEVER use Normans Electronics services again....
These guys have lost their minds. Ive been a customer three times, the last time did it for me. Take your electronics elsewhere. These guys are going to take you for a 6 -8 week ride, charge you extortion and hand you back gear that isnt repaired properly. There are better places, trust me. Ill never come back to Normans again.
Anyone with legacy electronics in need of service or repair must visit Normans Electronics
Fixed my surround sound its even louder than new
The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They have repaired several items for me and I was pleased with the work. They actually made several money saving suggestions that I was to put to use right away. Highly recommended.
Avoid these clowns at ALL COSTS ... My Dryer hasnt worked correctly in about a year. Normans has been here 4 or 5 times. Each time they make a different excuse as to why there is nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong except it will never dry in less than 3 cycles. This last time the repair technician was here for 1 hour. He said This dryer in unrepairable I wait several days for Lowes to call me on a replacement since I have an extended service agreement. Lowes never calls. I call Lowes explain to them that Normans declared the Dryer unrepairable. Lowes says the ticket says Nothing wrong with the Dryer Lowes then calls Normans who tells them Nothing wrong with the Dryer. Their spineless technician who showed up at my house with his pants hanging off his ankles told my one thing and then coded something else. Like I said avoid these CLOWNS AT ALL COSTS...
Very rude not worth your time please move on to another electronic repair company. If you do not... I promise you that you will wish you had. This place actually stinks.
Service arranged by Lowes Warranty to repair my LG French Door Refrigerator due to a non cooling issues. Was given a date and a time frame. When I called to confirm service today, the person states we are not on the schedule for today but on the schedule for tomorrow but no technician available to service a cooling problem today or tomorrow. Never received a phone call to let me know they cannot service the problem. What!!! Its a refrigerator! Having a cooling issue is a pretty basic problem. Probably a good thing they did not service my refrigerator. On to someone else!!
They serviced my TV and I broke again soon after. They fixed it again and it broke again after about a week
Good service, friendly people.
I have a VHS/DVD recorder that I use for transferring our family vacation and Christmas videos to DVD. Well, age got to it and it needed attention. I took it to Normans with my fingers crossed.A day or so later, they called with what my research on the web had already told me, the pc board was in trouble. The second bad report is that board is not available. Then, they put on their superhero cape and asked permission to try to rebuild the circuit board. They stated, if it works, pay us. If not, then we tried. They tried, it worked and I am a happy camper. All this took place in about ten days or less. Well done guys!
Zero stars. They came for a warranty call and the guy left because he can’t do a stacked washer and dryer. I already told them it was stacked before they came. I called back a few days later they told LG/Asurion they fixed it and billed them for the claim but nothing was done. Zero integrity = zero stars.
Drove 3 hours round trip just to get a Pioneer DJ mixer to them and they said after the repair they would test it for 24 hours. Well one of the two main functions do not work now and there is another button flashing that shouldnt be. So two problems that were never problems are now occurring in the gear. 3 hours round trip plus and hour and a half to pick it up, nearly $200 later and Im in worse shape that when I brought it to them. Thankfully the manufacturer is replacing the gear for me so I called to ask if I could get a partial refund. They of course wanted me to bring the gear back in but at this point Im getting a replacement so Im not going to drive for almost 2 hours back there. They said they would not issue any refund at all stating the parts cost them as well as the technicians time. Well why should the technician get paid if he failed so miserably that there are two new major problems occurring that never happened before? People just arent held accountable for their craft anymore these days. So in the end I paid for work that wasnt completed and this is why I wrote this review.
I have been a Normans customer since the early 60s. I know this is a long time and I am unable to remember any bad experiences. Once I had a Sony TV and no one was able to repair it and I called Sony. They called Normans and on one service call it was repaired.I have had many Yamaha receivers and my home seems lightning prone. I have done everything I can to lightning proof the house and still many times I have had the HDMI board damaged with a surge from a near by lightning strike.Normans is the only designated Yamaha repair shop in the Atlanta area and I live about 40 miles away but I gladly make the drive because I know my Yamaha AV receiver will be repaired properly.I do see some bad reviews on Normans site and I am sure that some may be true but I usually blame this on parts from the manufacturer and some things just cant be repaired. I am not saying all of these bad reviews are earned by Normans, things just happen and it is impossible to be perfect.I wish to close by saying I have been fortunate to have used Normans many, many times and never had a bad experience. I 100% recommend them.
Excellent service and professional service rep.
They do good work
These guys were great. They helped work with Sharp to make sure we got the right warranty coverage for our microwave, and acted in our best interest. Would highly recommend them to everyone.
If your warranty company hires this company immediately asked for another repair company.Home Depot assigned the repair of my Samsung Refrigerator to this company. The tech and I agreed on a late afternoon appointment, being that I wasn’t going to be at home. He decided to come three hours before the scheduled appointment and only my young son was at home. Unfortunately my son let him in without being aware what diagnostic test needed to be performed. I wasn’t aware that the technician was there until I arrived home that afternoon and my son told me. So I made several calls to him with no answer, so I decided to text to see if I’d get a response. Two hours later he responded with an apology for coming so early. I asked what was the verdict on the freezer and he said there was nothing he could do, just dump the ice. I was shocked at that response. The freezer has been repaired 5 times prior ( by other companies ) and is widely known to have problems. I asked my son what did the technician do while he was here and my son said he just took a picture of the freezer. I asked did he pull the ice tray out or the entire refrigerator to check the lines and he said no.I complained to home depot and they sent another company out, who pulled the unit out, the a thorough check and determined the whole unit had to be replaced.I guess Norman electronics wanted to get a service fee without doing work. What a shame!
I called them up about two different brand TVs with two different problems. I also let them know I was a bit handy with electronics. Without hesitation they told me what the problem was for both TVs and how to fix them myself. Good people.
Normans repaired my Samsung LCD TV in my home last week. I was pleased with the experience from beginning to end. Knowledgeable, friendly customer service representative, and excellent technician who explained the problem in a way I could understand it, quoted a reasonable price, and repaired on the spot. Great job!
My advice is to never use Normans Electronics, Inc. in Atlanta or purchase anything from Panasonic. In July 2015, I purchased a Panasonic vacuum cleaner from Amazon (1st mistake). It cost me $106.00. 2 months after I started using it, the head or connector where you put your extension poles in came off of the hose. I took it to my local vacuum cleaner service guy who told me the closest place for warranty service from Birmingham for Panasonic, was Normans Electronics Inc. in Atlanta. He also told me that these heads were glued to the hose at the manufacturer. Well, that explained that. They are cheaply made. You get what you pay for. In order to use it until I could take it to be serviced, I used masking tape to keep the hose and head together. I just got the opportunity last week to take it and when I walked in the guy behind the desk told me that it would not be covered under warranty because it was being cosmetically altered because of it being taped up. I told him how else could I have been using it? He just looked at me like I was crazy. He submitted it anyway, and when I picked it up I was told by a different person, that they had manually tightened the hose and the head together. This meant that they had screwed the head into the hose indentions. There was no thread to tighten into like a screw would tighten into threads. What Morans. I immediately told him that this was stupid and it would not work. He assured me that it would. Well guess what? 2 minutes after I started to use it the hose came off again. I was livid. I had expected them to do the right thing a replace the hose. But NO!!! They were too cheap t do the right thing. I would have been embarrassed to have let something that stupid go out of my store if I were the owner of Normans. I am sending them a letter right now but I do not expect anything from it. That is why I am advising everyone to stay away from Normans Electronics in Atlanta, GA. They are a poor excuse of a company who are proud of there work and service.
Excellent service and support. Knowledgeable and friendly staff willing to do what it takes to get a job done.
Fixed my subwoofer speaker in less than a week.
I will let you know when they get back with me 🤔
Horrible experience. Do not use this company. Was told initially that my tv needed a main board, waiting a month and was told it was the power board, waited another month and was told it was the screen. Total amount to fix was over $1100 ....seriously, I can buy a new tv for that. Total rip off artists, do not use this company.
Mailed my Velodyne Subwoofer to these guys for repair due to the IR sensor going out then the amp board going out shortly. It took roughly 2 months to get everything repaired and shipped back due to the holidays and lack of communication from Velodyne to get parts out to these guys. Received my sub 2 days ago, powered the bad boy back up and works just as new. Will definitely use these guys again in the future for any of my audio equipment.
I have always had a good rapport with this shop for many years and it is one of a very few who can fix electronics without rendering them useless.
Made an appointment and all they could tell me was what day. Not a time. But when the guy got here he was very good.
They were prompt and from what I can tell did good work
These guys were super fast and efficient! I had my USB port replaced in my pioneer CDJ 2000. I was worried it would take a long time but I was wrong. 2 days! The customer service personnel were really helpful as well. Great experience.
Fixed my TV under warranty for Sharp. Whole process went super smooth.
Had to take my receiver here twice, under warranty. They were very nice to me and the receiver got fixed, which is all I can ask for.
Very unsatisfied with service. Here is my experience with Normans Electronics in 2015. In Sept I had a power surge at my house, which I believe blew out the HDMI processors in my Samsung Plasma TV. I loved my TV, and wanted to repair it and not have to buy a new one. I called Normans. It took a few weeks, but a tech finally came out.Sept 30 -- Tech comes out. Does not physically touch the TV. Agrees that the processing board is shot, and charges me $109 for the visit and $226 to buy the part. These amounts are immediately charged to my credit card. He says the part should arrive in a couple of weeks, and that I should call them to check.Oct 20 -- Had heard nothing. Called about the part. No answer. Called back later in the day. They said the part was scheduled to arrive in six days, and that they tentatively scheduled a repair for Oct 26. This repair was scheduled without talking to me. They said to call back Oct 23 to check.Oct 23 -- Called back. They said the part was impossible to get, and they could come out and remove the part, and send it off for repair. I asked about cost. The guy I spoke with wasnt sure, but said that he would have a repair technician call me the morning of Oct 26.Oct 30 -- No one called me. I called them back. I was forwarded to a technicians voice mail. I left a message asking that he call me back. I never heard from him.Nov 4 -- Normans has still, not once, communicated anything to me in any way. I see that $226 has been refunded to my credit card.Nov 7 -- Called Normans again. Spoke with someone and asked for all of my money back. They apologized for not being able to repair the TV. I explained that my issue was not with my TV not being repaired, it was with their poor service and communication. This person had to escalate the issue. Later in the day they called back to say they would refund all of my money. Finally, Normans contacts me.Dec 7 -- I check my credit card statement and see no refund. I call them. The person I speak with says they have to check with Billing. I ask that I be called back with an update. He agrees to call me back.Dec 9 -- Still have heard nothing, however they did refund my money.Normans Electronics gets one star from me because of a failure. The failure is not that they were unable to repair my TV. The failure is that they did not communicate with me in anyway about the progress of the repair, even when they explicitly agreed to.
Stays in communication and has great customer service for warranty repairs on my Denons
I shipped my stereo to NEI to be fixed under the warranty. I was informed by the store that it had been damaged in transit and I was sent pics of the damage. This was not the fault of NEI and I don’t hold any ill will for that. I’m leaving a 2 star review because I was then informed that they wouldn’t consider it a warranty repair now and that there would be a 50$ fee just to get an estimate of the repair cost! I declined and they then asked for 30$ to ship it back to me (although it cost me only 17$ to ship). It’s possible that they do good work, but I find their business practices unscrupulous and am disappointed with them.
Outstanding and FAST repair! I have a Denon AVR-x1000 receiver that died with just a few months left on the 3yr. manufacturer warranty. Saw that Normans was the only Denon authorized repair center in this region, so I boxed it up and took it to UPS on a Tuesday. Shipped UPS Ground. On Friday OF THE SAME WEEK, (yes 3 days later), UPS truck rolls up with my receiver. I thought it was being returned undelivered, maybe I got the label wrong, etc., but it had already been delivered to Normans and REPAIRED by them and shipped back to me. I was prepared to wait for a few weeks, but got my unit back fixed in just 3 days! Hooked my unit up and everything seems to be working fine! Great job, guys, and THANK YOU!
I serviced my Marantz Receiver under warranty with Normans Electronics. Marantz says they are an authorized repair shop. They were able to diagnose a very slight but annoying hissing sound and ultimately replaced the HDMI board. The part took a while to come in. It took about a week and a half to complete but they were kind, organized, and the process was fairy straightforward. They called me to let me know its ready for pick up. Receiver works great now. Thanks!
They were a no show twice and never called to say they werent coming. The lied to us and told us they had to order the part then come to find out they had the part in stock the entire time they just didnt want to come fix it. Finally when they showed up it took them a month to fix our washer and it broke again a week later. They are nothing but a scam and will screw you over the sec they get the chance.
A wiz at electronics. Great communication.
Plasma TV losing image and then cannot be neither turn off nor on, making clicking sounds.Technician appointment scheduled from 8 t0 12. Waited those hours, showed up when nobody was home after 1, had to scramble to leave work to meet him.Only thing he did was to leave written instructions on how to turn TV On and Off with the remote we have been using for several years (????). TV remains with the same problem untouched. That was a joke of a service
This place used to be good but now they are just incompetent, arrogant, and irresponsible. I left them two Hafler amps, two Hafler preamps, and one NAD 6070 receiver for repair. They charged me over $500 - more than TWICE their estimate - and NONE of the amps, preamps, or receiver worked! (Actually, the NAD amp worked for all of 5 minutes before shutting down). They were arrogant when they overcharged me and they refused to fix their work or refund my money.Find another place to have your electronics fixed. These people just suck.
Dont bother! Find somewhere else to go to for a repair. Dropped my Toshiba Tv off for repair. I was told 3 or 4 days. After two weeks, many calls and being told by them they have no information, I finally tracked my own information down. Finally called them to let them know I have tracked the part and I am showing that it was delivered.
Very happy with their service! I was a little worried about taking my Denon AVR1612 here for some warranty-covered repair work, due to the large number of negative reviews. However, Normans is the only Denon-authorized repair center in the Southeast. Not to mention, my receiver was broken anyway. I didnt really have much to lose, so I took a chance. Im glad I did!I dont live in the Atlanta area, but I was down there visiting family, so I dropped off the receiver in person, to avoid shipping costs. The guy working in the front was helpful and friendly. He took a look at the unit, and I told him that the HDMI inputs werent working right. He wrote this down, and said that once the repair was completed, they could ship it back to me. He said the Denon warranty would cover up to $25 in shipping, which would more than likely cover the cost to send the receiver back to my home in Knoxville.Again, according to negative reviews, I thought the typical wait to get something back was a month or two. To my surprise and delight, my receiver was sitting on my front doorstep in Knoxville about a week later (and the $25 did cover the return shipping), and now everything works perfectly. Based on this experience, I would recommend Normans Electronics to anyone.
Denon use Norman as repair center for the south east. I called both Denon in New Jersey and Norman (Denons official repair center in South East) in Atlanta to get an idea of turn around time. Norman is quicker ( one week less compare to Denons quote) and closer, so I send my receiver to Norman for repair. I asked what I need to send it, was told, the cable, remote, proof of purchase with the date clearly marked. My unit is still in warranty. I have it for only 4 months. I forgot to ship with my remote, and the customer service rep. say that is okay. Not to worry. After the second week, I started calling Noramn twice a week to check on status. They told me the technician will contact me once the unit is repair, no need to call them. Really? Took them 7 weeks to repair my receiver (due to the part need to be obtain from Denon, and is back order). I should have send to Denon to begin with. That would cut a week out for the part to ship to Norman. The technician never call me like the reps claim they would. I have to call them to find out the unit is repaired and it will ship out the next day. I have to ask for the technician to obtained additional information regarding whats wrong with the unit.Next day came, it never got ship out. Took them 3 more days to ship the receiver out. Their reps answers never match their actions. 3 weeks without a receiver is a big difference compare to 7.5 weeks.Unit finally arrive, notice my power cord is missing, call them and ask for it. Rep say it is not their responsibility for additional parts that shipped with the unit to Norman. I am so glad I didnt send my remote in. I ask them to look for it, rep say they might have any extra cord they can send me.Two hours later, I found an extra cord I can use, I call them back to let them know I am ok without the power cord. This rep say she didnt aware of my previous conservation with the other rep. The previous rep didnt write any note down. Finally set up the receiver, and notice the front panel cover is missing on the receiver, the story never end. Now I have to call Norman and Denon to figure where I can obtain the missing part.
Fabulous skill with older receivers and electronics.
I wish I could give them zero
This place can fix complicated electronics where the others cant. They are the only company I will ever take my stuff to after trying the other incompetent repair places in the city.
Could fix my Amp had to send it to EBC.
Fast service for my dead yamaha receiver
Hard to find.. Great people!
Its not Normans Electronics any more. Its IES now.
Great & prompt service, friendly staff.
You can actually talk to the person fixing the item. Very professional.
If you are looking for a place to repair your electronics, this is the place. Been in business since 1955.
