There are several great Veterinarians in the Fort Lauderdale area, however Doctor Ansara and his staff are part of a special lot that are some of the most caring, attentive, and skilled experts in the field of animal health. Wed actually switched to their practice from another area Vet (also quite good at what they did) however, the feel at AHUD is genuine, the care of our pets is in very good hands, and the Doctor will always set out several options of care so that our family can figure out whats best for us. To me, that is a special touch that differentiates this practice from many others.-The staff and doctor have made themselves available to us by making personal calls to let us know how things look, and always give us the real scoop so that there are no surprises. We appreciate the honesty, and the sincerity that these folks bring to the care of our pets, and so we would recommend them to anyone that loves their animals.

Jean, that does the dental procedures, is true a professional. She was very informative and kind when explaining which teeth need to be extracted and which could wait and possibly correct itself. I felt very confident leaving my dog in her hands. The front desk techs are friendly and welcoming. I recommend this place to everyone I know. Great value and awesome care!

The doctor is super friendly, nice and very knowledgeable. He is a very Professional in his field, all these reviews are true about their doctor! Also their staff (front) are very sweet, too.My only complain is regards a mask policy. They said that the owner of this building are not allowing ppl w/o mask on their premises and that’s totally fine (I respect their decision) as they respect mine decision not to wear a mask and sit in a car (totally fine and even more convenient for me).But…I’m sitting in a car and waiting to pick up my pet. Other car parking next to my car, the old guy in his 70th together with a lady in her 40th are going inside the animal hospital (no masks) I can see thru windows that they not even provided masks nor they are wearing them. After 10-15 mins they did picked up their dog and walked away with no masks on them as well. Interesting thing, we had a small talk and they said that the staff never pointed them for not having masks on them while when I was there they asked me for a mask and if no mask I must wait in a car because of the above rules…So, they either discriminated me based on my age (I’m in my 30th) or are breaking their own rules. Of if they think they are vaccinated bc of their age and I’m not (even thought I work in a medical office and you know the rules there).So this is the only thing I really dont like. They said one thing at the beginning and I followed it with no complain but in other hand that what happen…

Dr. Carl is AMAZING! My first time meeting him and I am not going anywhere. My Oreo (dachshund) woke up with a swollen eye. I called several offices and everyone was booked. My sister remembered that she took her dog there one time and got us an appointment. I am so glad we went there. Dr. Carls energy was out of this world. You can see he cares and it the best Vet that I have ever met.

I love bringing my Shayna here. Dr. Ansara is knowledgeable and takes his time when caring for our Shayna. You can tell he’s extremely meticulous. The best vet in the area hands down! All of the staff are very personable and willing to make your experience great. The girls who work the front are friendly and Alisha is always very kind to us. Best place to take your pets. You definitely won’t regret bringing them here! I always feel welcome and comfortable leaving Shayna in their care.

My female dog had a open pyometra, after calling several places describing her symptoms they all gave me crazy estimates off all the tests that needed to be done to rule out other possible illnesses. When I called Animal Hospital of University Drive they listened to all my concerns and told me to come in, I saw Dr Ansara who was very professional and knowledgeable. He told me he didn’t need to do unnecessary tests and diagnosed my dog with pyometra. He explained all statistics, outcomes, the condition and I didn’t feel pressured to make a decision. He recommended surgery and we did the surgery the next day. He was always checking on my dog via text and was very responsive to my concerns. The price was very reasonable and fair. All the ladies at the front desks were very helpful and also knowledgeable. The technician “Nicole” was very nice and caring to my sweet dog Leonela. I thank them very much for saving my dog, this was a serious condition and they provided good medical advice and treatment. I highly recommend them.

I was thrilled to find this vets office.These people are off the charts with the professionalism and customer courtesy. Dr. Ansara was equally great. He is not rushed, and is more than happy to answer any questions and give advice. The prices were reasonable and he is a straight shooter. Will never go anywhere else again.

Our two dogs are comfortable withDr Ansara. His treatment is always appropriate. I rate his knowledge and concern 5 stars. I trust him with our two babies. I drive 25 miles each way to insure the well-being of our Italian Greyhounds.

I feel extremely lucky to have found this vet office! Every single staff member always makes me feel like my dog is in good hands. I’ve been taking my German shepherd here since she was a puppy for her vaccinations and Dr. Ansara thoroughly answered all my silly “dog mom” questions with patience. I also have been blown away with Alicia customer service skills. She always does everything she can to make sure my dog (Arya) can be seen as soon as possible by Dr. Ansara even when the office is running on a tight schedule. I can’t imagine taking Arya to another vet and i will forever be thankful to the staff and Dr. Ansara.

Yesterday was my first visit at this clinic, for my dog to get an annual exam as well as look at some areas of concern. The staff was friendly and kind and the facility was kept clean. I had an appt at 4:30 and ended up leaving at 6. As an appointment only clinic, I felt as though they have over-booked themselves. My dog has never been on a moving table as he is a big boy and had trouble staying still. Initially I wasn’t allowed back, but after not wanting to walk away with nothing done for him I came in to try to calm him down. At first the vet assistant helped then walked into a back room while I was still with the vet, which another vet assistant came to help when the vet and I went to do the vaccinations. I wrote down his previous vaccination dates on the intake form and it seemed at though the vet was unaware of them and almost didn’t do them until I brought it up. I asked how his teeth looked, since I was told the vet did the exam the first time my dog was took back without me. He asked me to show him his teeth, not sure if he did not check them at all or simply forgot how they looked. I felt like the time I had with the vet was rushed and I didn’t get to discuss my other concerns I had. I was referred to this vet by my roommate’s coworker at dogtopia, but I don’t feel like we received the same service.

I looked and looked until I found and tried this animal hospital. I am VERY PICKY about who I trust with my two Corgis and cats. Having been a vet tech for 15 years causes me to set my standards high. Dr. Ansara and his excellent staff more than fill the bill. I never have to worry about their competiency. They are always gentle and take their time with my dogs. You can tell by the photo that Kurbi had no fear, and was just hanging out. Dooki is waiting his turn on the floor. The hospital is a full service hospital. It is well lit and I have never noticed any odors or lack of cleanliness (often difficult to accomplish in an animal hospital). The front desk receptionists are also helpful and polite. If I had anything negative to say is that you often have to wait. This is because a very sick or injured pet takes priority. Thats how I would want it to be if it was mine, so I dont mind the wait.

I won’t go to anyone else. Dr. Ansara is an angel sent from heaven to help heal our babies without sticking it to our wallets. He has taken every measure to ensure my animal is healthy without taking the most expensive route first. The staff is phenomenal, as well. I have 5 animals and will bring them here for the rest of their lives. Thank you so much Dr.Ansara and crew, you guys are the best.

Dr. Carl goes above and beyond. I had to rush my pup to a different urgent care today for a fractured arm because they were closed so I texted through the entire process and he worked to get a surgery scheduled the next day on such short notice in the midst of a holiday. This surgery has to be done within 72 hrs. Tmro is nye, then new years day and the next is a Saturday.. It seemed impossoble. I was at a different facility when he did all this...I dont know how to thank him enough!!! You and your pets are in the best hands with Dr Carl!!

I don’t write reviews often, but they deserve it. I recently moved and haven’t established a new vet for my newly adopted dog. She was sick, from what I think was a new food switch, and I had a few questions prior to finding a new vet and spending lots of money. I called them to see if they would be able help and Dr Ansara called me back as soon as he could. I wasn’t expecting much since 1) he hasn’t ever met my new dog and 2) I’ve moved out of the area. However, he was so extremely helpful and caring on the phone. He gave me his advice, how to handle her being sick, what to buy over the counter and what could be wrong. Above that, he gave me his personal number to contact if I needed any help after hours. Now, my girl is feeling better already and I am so thankful for his help! Talk about an incredibly caring vet that is so willing to help, even when he doesn’t have to. I will miss it here!

There arent enough characters to explain how impressed I am with this office. I called them first thing in the morning, I suspected my puppy had an ear infection. They went out of their way to work me into their schedule. When I arrived they were super organized with their curbside appointments, which I loved. The girls were super friendly and treated me like I had been a patient for years. Dr. Ansara was equally friendly, extremely thorough and explained things in a way I could understand. On top of treating him for his ailment, he gave me suggestions on how to prevent it since my puppys breed is prone to it. Ive had dogs my entire life in various parts of the country. Ive been to many Vets. When my dog was not doing well I brought him in here, with no appointment or warning. They immediately treated us like family. Ill never go to any other vet again. The care and service is like nothing ive experienced previously. We were the 4 days ago and every day since the doctor has personally followed up with me to get updates and share encouragement.The fact that they are also the most fairly priced animal hospital ive ever seen is just icing on the cake.I would gladly drive my animals any distance to see Dr. Carl Ansara.

I used to come here all the time for my dogs checkups and to board him. The Dr is very nice, but will never trust them with my dog again. I dropped him off to get his nails cut one time and when they gave him back to me he had multiple nails dripping with blood. Don’t trust these people with your babies.

They not only did an amazing job of making me feel safe during this pandemic, but they answered any questions I had and thoroughly explained the medication they were giving to my cats hurt tail. After years of hesitation, I have taken my dog twice there for dental cleaning (2017 & 2019) - he is an adult Yorkie with very quickly deteriorating teeth - both times Jean did an excellent job, cleaned him up real nice (second time extracted some of his teeth that were no longer good) - with decades of experience, I’d trust no one else to put my dog under and do work on him! Absolutely recommend, if you are looking for what is probably one of the most knowledgeable, and experienced staff when it comes to the delicate task of canine dental work! So glad to have them in my corner, and so thankful for their amazing work! Oh, and lastly, price for all this was beyond reasonable!!

I highly recommend Dr. Ansara! Him and his staff are wonderful. We started going to his clinic when we got our Golden Retriever 6 years ago and have started seeing him even more frequently now that we have gotten a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. He has gone above and beyond for both of our dogs (the golden was diagnosed with hip dysplasia recently) and we have seen him multiple times in the past two weeks as our puppy was diagnosed with kennel cough. Dr. Ansara has a genuine drive to assist animals and he puts this ahead of making a profit. I have yet to meet a doctor in any field that exhibits these qualities. He advises us based off the welfare of our puppy first and foremost but goes so far as to even be concerned about our financial welfare. The place we got our puppy came with a health warranty but under a different Vet. Dr. Ansara advised us to go there for testing to save us money but he was more than willing and wanting to discuss the results with us anyhow. My wife and I are confident that we have found our forever vet. If you get Alisha and Vanessa youre in good hands. I came in with an issue yesterday, the county had given us 24 hours to sort our rabies waiver out, due to our Pitt bull not having a current rabies vaccine. Of course the Animal care control had to find a fault in our waiver and we had to return to the office today for a new form. We came in and our urgent matter was immediately taken care off without any hesitating. Thank you Doctor Ansarah for extending our waiver during this difficult time. Really thankful!

My family has been going to Dr. Ansara for as long as I can remember. From my moms huge rottweilers to my newest addition Zeus. He has always been such a caring vet, really takes the time to make sure your pets are treated like family. The staff still remembers all of my moms animals. They have been there for years and you can tell they genuinely care. Zeus loved coming here and cant wait for his next visit with his new friends. I recommend him to everyone I meet.

I usually don’t do reviews but felt compelled too with the pandemic that we are dealing with. I wish my wife and I could give more stars to the Animal Hospital of University Drive! We initially came across them a few years ago, and Dr. Ansara as well the lady Veterinarian who I have seen a few times were wonderful with Max, they explained everything thoroughly and carefully to us, and thankfully Max didnt have issues with any specific problems just routine visits for the most part. I work in radiology at University Hospital and I know how things are at the current moment. I called last week for an appointment and was told they were booked. I decided to try again later that day because my Max was behind on vaccines and really wanted this taken care off. I called back spoke to Alisha who said she would fit me in. I was thankful that she heard my concerns of being late on the vaccines and only having one day off from work and needing to make the most of it. I was given an appointment immediately by Alisha who was wonderful. She also explained to me what the protocol was due to COVID 19. When I arrived, I called the office spoke to Alisha who said she would send a technician out to greet me and Max. I was greeted by Ruba who has never dealt with Max, I explained he can be a little timid at times. She assured me that would be fine. Max received his annual vaccines and was well taken care of that day. The staffs approach to their animal patients and their respective human family is absolutely top notch...you will feel at ease and confident that whatever is needed for your pet will be addressed by the best staff with your pets well-being in mind. They are masters in their craft! I would like to add that the office is very clean and welcoming with affordable prices. You will not want to go anywhere else. Today was my first time visiting this clinic. I brought in a little poodle that I found and I was concerned about her health, but I was also concerned about how much it would cost to help her. I met with Dr. Carl Ansara who was exceptionally kind, along with their veterinary technician who was so supportive. They didnt judge the condition of this little dog and they certainly didnt judge me or pressure me. Quite the opposite actually! They laid everything out for me and I was surprised at how low their prices were. I can certainly help this little dog with their kind support. I have another dog of my own and 2 cats, so guess which clinic will now be my go to place. Theyre definitely not in it for the money, its about the animals and the people here.

They cleaned my dogs teeth and did an absolutely excellent job. They did not have to intubate him, just sedated him with the gas. His teeth are sparkling, and even though he had 2 extractions, youd never know. Im very appreciative of such great care. Worth the 40 min drive any day. Thank you!!

I’ve never met a vet or a staff as caring as those at University Animal Hospital. Dr. Ansara is an excellent veterinarian. He is very caring and extremely knowledgeable. We moved to East Fort Lauderdale and still drive out to see him because of the excellent level of care our dog receives from him (and his staff). And the pricing is also very reasonable. He got sick around the age of 4 to the point where we thought we were going to have to put him down. He is now almost 8 and healthier than ever. Seriously, THE best!!!

Best animal hospital ever!Everyone is very friendly and professional. My dogs are my babies and I am so happy that finally I found a vet I can trust. I like a lot how they treating and taking care of my dogs,you can tell they really love animals.They did the dental cleaning for my dogs . I was so afraid because I heard many bad stories about it but it went so smoothly! Im very thankful for everyone in this place!And they have the best prices too.

Dr Carl Ansara is one, if not the most caring vet around! My puppy ingested something he shouldnt have and Dr. Ansara made it a point to call me on his day off and talk me through everything, asking for updates and putting me at ease. He truly cares about his animals and is VERY reasonably priced. My pup loves going to him and I recommend him to everyone!

Super reasonable. Great staff. Super fast. Had his teeth cleaned with six extractions bill only came to $275 couldnt believe it. Our vet forever. Thank you !!!

One of my dogs died as a result of Dr. Carls medical advice.My other dog will a crew almost $8000 in medical bills to fix Dr Carls surgical work.When I posted my original post, Dr Carl said he was suing me for defamation of character unless I take my review down.You cant sue someone for defamation of character if its the truth.Be careful, take your pets somewhere else.

First time ever here and I am seriously impressed. Dr. Ansara is amazing, he obviously cares so much about animals. I originally only went to him to try to get my dog a dental cleaning, but after meeting him and his great team of Vet Techs were switching. I am so thankful we were referred to him. I always believe in following your gut on everything, and this animal hospital gave me a great feeling.

Caring staff. Dr Carl is so knowledgeable and great with all of his patients especially my Augie. Also very accommodating, you always have access to a caring professional.

They have been so helpful and kind. Always resolved any issues with my dog and for a great price. I will come back here anytime I need a vet and recommend them to anyone.

I have been taking my dogs there for over 6 years. I have referred family and friends to Dr. Azera, and all have been very pleased. The staff from the girls in the front to techs in the back are very caring and accommodating. Dr. Azera is a very good vet and honest. Be careful, many of the large organizations are not.

Ive been taking my sweet, little cat to this place for a few years. Dr. Carl Ansara and his staff treat her with kindness, gentleness and professionalism. And they do the same to me. Dr. A.takes good care of my cat, offers sound advice and has helped ease my mind when I was terribly worried about my little one. Highly recommend!

Dr. Ansara and his staff are simply the best! We have been long time clients with several dogs over the years and they are compassionate, friendly and they take the time to answer your questions and listen to your concerns. Their prices are not outrageous and they have great hours. I highly recommend this office, you will not be disappointed!

I had to take my baby girl, Black Beauty, my kitty to see a Vet. She wasnt feeling good and really needed someone who would really take care of her. Dr. Ansara came HIGHLY recommended!!!! I do not regret for one moment taking her to see him. He is very compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable. He gave me options for her treatment and understands that as pet parents, we are all not swimming in the money department. He did suggest, for what I could afford, a simple, yet effective treatment for her. And 3 days later she is getting much, much better!!! Absolutely love this place and all the staff. Dr. Ansara is hands down the real dog whisperer. My dog needed surgery and this place put me at ease immediately. Within hours I had all my records transferred over to them and never looked back since. After my Beast pulled out his stiches, they admitted me right away and got it fixed up at no cost. My dog finally loves going to the vet. And so do I. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I have used this clinic for the past five years. The expertise and extreme caring of Dr. Ansara is out standing!! I have had pets all my life and he is our best vet ever!!The staff and especially Janelle bend over backwards to help, advise and assist in any way possible,from a regular check up, or problems with our pets.

Our first visit was great! Comfortable atmosphere, short wait times, knowledgeable doctor and best of all, he understands raw feeders 🤓👍🏽

Had a great experience here. Got a last minute appointment last week, Alicia on the phone was super friendly and helpful in getting it scheduled. She was even nicer in person. I cannot remember the assistant to the vet name, but she was lovely as well. The vet doctor Carlow managed to have a very successful visit with my spoiled baby, who is not always friendly. Glad I went in because bear had an ear infection as well that the doctor found. Will be back next wednesday for my follow up with doctor Carlow. Overall, a great experience, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
